Hey readers - here we are with another new chapter : )
Brace yourselves, because I'm fairly certain this is my longest chapter yet. I admit I was tempted to break it up into two at certain points, but I really didn't want to do that, so you guys get a SUPER long chapter as a result ; )
Anyway, to keep this brief let's just jump right on in to the result of the last voting topic. I am ecstatic to announce that the first Pokemon Evolution in my Pokemon Heart Gold Nuzlocke goes to... Spinarak! I was actually quite pleased with this one because although it's a cool Pokemon, Ariados isn't the best Pokemon to use later on in a nuzlocke, so having one this early in the game means he'll at least get some action : )
Finally, I just want to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone that has reviewed, favourited, and followed this story. The support that has been shown to the story is amazing, and it means so much to me, so thank you : )
Please remember that Pokemon is not mine, only my OC's are : )
I hope you enjoy this chapter : )
Day Care Dilemmas - Part 4
Nolan stood practically rooted to the spot, his gaze transfixed with disbelief, as he stared at what had once been the adorable little Orange Town Day Care Centre. Inky black smoke was billowing out from the partially destroyed building, and the air was thick with the scent of burnt wood and a faint hint of toxins, the last lingering effects of the Sludge Bomb and Fire Blast attacks that Nidorino and Rhyhorn had unleashed in their outrage at each other. At his side, Ash was in a very similar state to the golden haired boy. The aspiring Pokemon Master's face was etched with abject horror, his russet coloured eyes staring dumbfounded at the wreckage, struggling to really take in the magnitude of what had just happened. Neither of the boys could believe that all this trouble had so suddenly crept up on them when they'd been having such a pleasant time, nor could they understand the desire for an all out brawl between the two Pokemon that had erupted out of nowhere. A brawl that was still being ferociously fought to this very moment, and getting dirtier and more brutal by the second.
Recovering from his incredulous shock first, Nolan quickly shook his head, trying desperately to clear his stunned thoughts and get his wits about him. He knew that right now, stopping the frenzied Pokemon still fighting behind him needed to be the priority. If left to their own devices... well, it would be a miracle if the day care was standing in an hour. Fortunately , Nolan already had an idea in mind to deal with those two hotheads. Springing into action, the golden haired boy immediately reached down to his belt and unclipped one of the occupied pokeballs that hung there. With a grim expression clouding his handsome features, Nolan then turned towards his raven haired best friend, who was still frozen in place, staring at the ruined day care centre.
"Ash!" the golden haired boy exclaimed, reaching out and gripping his best friend's arm. He gave the boy a gentle but firm shake to bring him back to the here and now, "Snap out of it!"
Ash blinked in surprise, but thankfully he quickly snapped out of his daze. He glanced at Nolan, his expression still deeply troubled.
"I need a favour" Nolan continued before the raven haired boy had a chance to utter so much as a single syllable. He held out his hand, palm up, towards Ash, "Can I please borrow your Butterfree. I have a plan".
Ash stared at Nolan, nonplussed. It wasn't hard to see why the raven haired boy was so confused by the request though. After all, what could sweet little Butterfree possibly do to help fix any of this... mess?!
"A plan?" the raven haired boy narrowed his eyes sceptically at his best friend, "What kind of plan?"
It took a considerable amount of effort on Nolan's part not to sign in annoyance. Right now, Nidorino and Rhyhorn were literally tearing chunks out of each other, and Nolan, Ash and everybody else were all in dangerous proximity to their fighting. They could ended up being struck down by a stray Sludge Bomb or Fire Blast at a moment's notice for crying out loud. Now really wasn't the time to be asking redundant questions. But... Nolan knew that asking to borrow one of his friend's Pokemon was a big deal, and if the roles were reversed, the golden haired boy knew that he'd want to know whatever scheme Ash had cooked up, regardless of what was going on around them. So with that thought in mind, Nolan quickly gave his friend the briefest outline of his plan.
"I want to have Iris and Butterfree pull off a combination together" Nolan spoke very quickly, his gaze trained anxiously upon the two clashing Pokemon, who were slowly etching closer to them all as they all-but wrestled each other, "It might just fix at least some of this mess!"
Ash hesitated for just a moment longer, clearly not sure about sending his Bug Type friend out into such a dangerous situation, but he ultimately decided to trust his brother in all-but blood. Nolan knew what he was doing after all, as he'd proven many time on their journey before. So with a faint smile, Ash slowly pulled Butterfree's pokeball off of his belt, before he handed it to Nolan.
"Whatever you've come up with, I hope it works, Nolan" Ash said solemnly, his tone worried.
Mr Tanga watched the scene unfolding with an equally anxious expression. The kind elderly gentleman had a haunted look about him as he stared at his two charges, saddened that they were so bitter against each other.
"Good luck, Nolan" Mr Tanga said quietly, his tone heavy with the misery currently consuming him.
"Thanks, Mr. Tanga" Nolan nodded wearily, bracing himself for what was coming next.
Steeling his nerves the best he could, the golden haired boy quickly lunged into action before the two frenzied Pokemon could wreck any more damage upon the day care centre or its illustrious battle garden. Wasting no more time, Nolan hurled the two pokeballs he was holding into the air. A red beam of light burst out from the capsule device and Butterfree manifested, flapping his wings elegantly. A moment later, Iris materialised as well, standing on the ground beside Butterfree, her antennae twitching curiously.
"Freeeee?"
"Veno... Nat?"
Almost immediately, the attention of the two Bug Type Pokemon was drawn by the cacophony of furious roars and pained grunts emanating from behind them. Turning, Iris squeaked loudly in alarm and Butterfree's large red eyes grew even larger in surprise at the sight that met them. As they watched, Rhyhorn butted Nidorino so hard in the face with his horn it was a wonder he didn't poke an eye out.
"Venonat!" Iris whimpered, taking a slight step back.
Butterfree, noticing the unadulterated fear blazing in the eyes of the fluffy purple creature he was growing very friendly with, felt the need to reassure her. As such, the Butterfly Pokemon spread his shining white wings as far as he could, stepping in front of Iris and using his own body to shield her from the rampaging duo's view. If necessary, he was ready to defend his fellow Bug Type Pokemon.
"Freeee!" he chirped fiercely.
"Nat! Venonat!" Iris' big ruby eyes practically shone with admiration for Butterfree's gallant efforts.
Behind the two Bug Type Pokemon, Nolan couldn't help but smile softly to himself. The interaction between the two Pokemon friends was incredibly sweet. The golden haired boy's smile faded back into a frown however when both Butterfree and Iris turned their attention back to him, both of them very anxious to know exactly what was going on here.
"Butterfree. Iris." Nolan greeted the two of them in a solemn tone, his face grim as he knelt down before the pair, "I need both of your help".
The golden haired boy focused his gaze primarily upon Butterfree, who was gazing up at him in wonder.
"I know I'm not your trainer, Butterfree, but I really need you to trust me on this one" Nolan all-but pleaded with the Butterfly Pokemon. He knew that theoretically, Iris could probably pull off his plan on her own, but Nolan knew that the chances of success would be doubled if Butterfree helped out. And with the future of the kind elderly couple's day care centre dangling in the balance, Nolan would use whatever advantage he could to swing the odds in their favour.
"Butterfree?" Butterfree cocked his head to one side in an uncertain manner.
"Veno!" Iris squeaked, nuzzling against Butterfree affectionately whilst gazing up at him with a hopeful expression.
Butterfree looked back at Iris, his antennae twitching. It was obvious for anyone to see that the Bug Type Pokemon was nervous about being left in the hands of anyone but his beloved trainer, but he also couldn't help but be drawn to Iris too.
"Veno! Veno, Nat!" Iris continued pleading. Eventually, Butterfree simply didn't have the heart to resist anymore. The Butterfly Pokemon warily nodded.
"Freeee!" their Bug Type friend chirped.
"Excellent!" Nolan beamed, although he had a sneaking suspicion that without Iris' pleading, nor to mention her charm, Butterfree might not have been quite so agreeable. Either way, the golden haired boy was grateful for the assistance, and so he quickly outlined his plan to them, "Okay. We need to stop Nidorino and Rhyhorn from fighting before they can cause anymore damage. Iris, you and Butterfree both use Sleep Powder, together. Focus your attacks on the Nidorino and Rhyhorn".
"Veno!" Iris squeaked excitedly in understanding. She looked up at Butterfree, and he smiled back at her.
"Freeee!" Butterfree chirped to show that he understood and was on-board with the plan as well.
And so without further ado, Butterfree quickly grabbed fistfuls of Iris' long fur as gently as he could with his small hands. He began beating his beautiful shining wings as hard as he could, and after some considerable effort, he managed to get them airborne. Soon enough, Butterfree was carrying Iris through the air towards the rampaging Pokemon.
"You can do it Iris! You too Butterfree! You can do it!" Nolan cheered them both on.
The golden haired boy watched as the two Bug Type Pokemon got into position. On either side of him, Ash and Mr Tanga mirrored the action, both of them clearly feeling as anxious as Nolan himself did right now. They looked on in awe as together, Butterfree and Iris both began unleashing their powerful Sleep Powder attacks, working flawlessly together in almost perfect unison.
Emerald spores began raining down upon the frenzied figures of Nidorino and Rhyhorn, enveloping them in a cloud of ethereal green, the sunbeams reflecting off of the glittering pollen and casting a breathtakingly beautiful light show. The two furious Pokemon stilled almost instantly, quickly succumbing to sleep as the breathed in the tiny glistening spores.
In a matter of seconds, both Nidorino and Rhyhorn fell to the ground in a crumpled heap. Then they began snoring.
From the sidelines, Nolan l, Ash and Mr Tanga all heaved a great sigh of relief. The danger had passed and everyone was safe again. Hopefully when Nidorino and Rhyhorn woke up from their forced nap, they'd both be of a better disposition. For now though, Nolan would feel better if he knew they weren't going to wake up anytime soon, and so he quickly turned to Mr Tanga with a concerned expression.
"Mr. Tanga, get them back into their pokeballs!" the golden haired boy urged the kind elderly gentleman.
"Right!" Mr Tanga agreed, rushing towards the two prone figures of Nidorino and Rhyhorn and pulling their pokeballs from out of his pocket, "Nidorino! Rhyhorn! Return now!"
In a beam of scarlet coloured light, the sleeping Nidorino and Rhyhorn both disappeared back into their pokeballs.
"Whew!" Ash wiped the sweat from his brow in relief, "That was close!"
Mr Tanga seemed to want to argue that it was more than close, judging by the look on his face as he observed the damage done to the day care centre's main building. The kind elderly gentlemen held any remarks on the matter to himself though, and instead he turned towards Nolan and flashed the golden haired boy a grateful smile.
"Thank you, Nolan" Mr Tanga said earnestly to the young Pokemon trainer at his side, "You saved the day. Your quick thinking was incredible!"
Nolan couldn't help but blush a delicate shade of red at the praise, and he ducked his head humbly.
"Thank you Mr Tanga, but it wasn't really me" the golden haired boy said modestly, before he gasket towards the two book type Pokemon who were the real heroes of the hour, "It was Iris and Butterfree who put in all the hard work".
Mr Tanga inclined his head in agreement.
"Yes, I suppose you're right on that front young man" the kind elderly gentleman acknowledged, before he looked down at the two Pokemon and gave them both a smile full of gratitude, "Thank you Iris. Thank you Butterfree".
"Yeah!" Ash nodded his head in agreement, a wide grin playing across his features, "You two made a terrific team. That was one of the coolest combinations I've ever seen!"
"Veno!"
"Freeeee!"
Iris was jumping up and down on the spot where she stood excitedly, squeaking happily at the praise. Her joy was only amplified by that fact that Butterfree was gracefully circling around her, gently beating his shining wings to keep himself aloft.
The three humans watched the proud and happy Pokemon dance around each other for another couple of moments, before their attention was finally drawn back to the matter at hand. The fond smiles on each of their faces immediately faded back into concerned frowns.
"I need to check on my wife" Mr Tanga breathed hoarsely, trying to remain calm but unable to refrain from fearing the worst. Never before had such terror gripped his aged heart as it did in that moment, as his mind conjured up all manner of horrible scenarios involving his precious Reeni, "She's still inside".
And without so much as a backwards glance at the two boys that had been accompanying him, Mr Tanga set off running towards the smoking building, concern etched on his face.
"We should go too" Nolan muttered to Ash, his face grim at the prospect at what might lie ahead of them, "Don't forget, Misty and Brock are still in there as well".
Ash nodded frantically, looking just as concerned as Nolan himself felt.
"We need to make sure they're okay" the raven haired boy agreed, hoping against hope that they were both alright. Honestly he had not idea what he would do if the alternative proved to be true. He prayed that he wasn't about to find out.
"I know they can take care of themselves, but I'm still worried" Nolan fretted as he numbly held out a pokeball towards his best friend. Ash immediately seized it.
"Me too" the raven haired boy admitted as he silently returned Butterfree to his pokeball, "Come on. Let's go".
Nolan nodded and quietly returned Iris to her pokeball as well. Without wasting so much as a single nanosecond, Ash and Nolan then hurried off in the footsteps of Mr Tanga. They easily caught up to the kind elderly gentleman, and together, all three of them ran towards the day care, determined to find their friends and ensure their safety.
Brock, Misty and Miss had to be alright.
They just had to be.
The three of them were so caught up in their worry as they scurried towards the damaged building that was the Orange Town Day Care Centre, that neither Nolan, Ash nor Mr Tanga noticed anything peculiar about a specific bush that was just one of many dotted around the illustrious battle garden. But if they had dallied for just a few moments longer, one of them might have noticed that this bush in particular was currently a hiding a particularly sinister secret. Or rather, three sinister secrets.
Team Rocket's heads all popped out from between the foliage, their expressions a mix of amusement and malice.
"Ooh!" Jessie all-but squealed in delight as she brushed some stray leaves out of her long magenta coloured hair, "That couldn't have gone better if we'd planned it ourselves!"
At the female criminal's side, James couldn't help but beam at her in agreement.
"I know, right?! See Meowth?" the cyan haired man looked down at the Scratch Cat Pokemon with an air of smugness, "I told you a catapult was the perfect way to unleash some good, old-fashioned chaos!"
The furry white creature's lips curled into a wide, malignant grin.
"You were right, James" Meowth acknowledged, wagging his tail happily as he surveyed the damage that their little prank had inflicted upon the day care centre and its charming little battle garden, "That was pretty impressive!"
James eagerly soaked up the talking Pokemon's praise for a moment, but couldn't refrain from allowing his shoulders to sag dramatically as a rather depressing thought suddenly came to him.
"It's a shame that some of the Pokemon we were going to steal managed to escape during the chaos though" the cyan haired man sighed deeply, glancing towards the damaged playpen area with an almost wistful expression tugging at his features, "I rather liked the look of that Machop".
Jessie nodded sadly before she clapped her male counterpart on the shoulder, trying to bolster his spirits.
"A worthy sacrifice for the greater good of Team Rocket, James" the magenta haired woman stated in the usual pompous manner that the infamous trio adopted whenever talking about the evil organisation's 'greater good'.
James and Meowth both stared at her dumbly, clearly perplexed by the statement that Jessie had just made.
"What do you mean?" the cyan haired man demanded to know, his tone and his expression both riddled with the utmost confusion, "We should be grabbing as many Pokemon as possible!"
"Yeah Jess!" Meowth echoed James, sounding just as perplexed as the man in question did, "Why's it a good thing dat dey got away?"
Jessie gave both James and Meowth a patient, albeit slightly thin smile.
"Remember what we're up against here if we want to pull off this brilliant heist!" the magenta haired woman that just so happened to be the leader of this particular trio of Team Rocket agents urged both of her co-workers and friends, "It's not just the dusty old couple that runs this place, after all. Remember who else is here!"
Her sharp eyes turned back towards Ash, Nolan, and Mr. Tanga, all of whom were still rushing towards the day care, worried expressions clouding their faces.
"So what?" Meowth shrugged his furry little shoulders, clearly not getting the point that Jessie was trying to make, "Dey're just da twerps. Meowth!"
Jessie's smirk became a few degrees colder and a lot more sinister.
"Those twerps have ruined every scheme we've had in the past!" the female criminal reminded both the talking Pokemon and her own male counterpart, "That's why it's a good thing that some of the Pokemon escaped!"
The tone in which Jessie spoke those last few words suggested that her meaning was obvious. For Meowth and James however, the meaning was unfortunately anything but.
"How is that a good thing?" James shook his head in bewilderment, not following his friend's logic in the slightest.
"What's the most annoying thing about the twerps?" Jessie asked in a manner that almost sounded rhetorical, but both James and Meowth knew it was anything but. The magenta haired woman thrust a finger in her male counterpart's face, clearly expecting him to be the one to answer. Before James could however, Meowth quickly jumped in with his own thoughts
"Dey stick deir noses into everyone's business!" the Scratch Cat Pokemon hissed indignantly, his tail swishing back and forth in agitation, "Always trying to do good! Disgusting! Meowth!"
Jessie beamed down at the furry white creature in approval.
"Precisely!" she clapped her hands together triumphantly, but realising that her friends still weren't getting it, Jessie continued guiding them through her thought process, "That means that they'll offer to help the old couple find the runaway Pokemon. They're bound too! And that means they'll all be gone from the day care for a while, leaving us with a clear path to the Pokemon!"
James and Meowth's eyes both widened in awe and surprise, the realisation finally starting to register with them.
"Dat's brilliant!" the Scratch Cat Pokemon whispered breathlessly in delight.
James on the other hand was apparently somewhat more sceptical. The cyan haired man had an unconvinced expression on his face, and when he spoke, his voice didn't sound particularly confident in his friend's logic either.
"But what about Pikachu?" James wanted to know, trying to bring them all back to the main reason why they'd been following the twerps in the first place, "Stealing that little pest is our true goal!"
Rather than rain on Jessie's parade however, James' concerns only seemed to serve to brighten the woman's mood.
"That's the best part James!" the female criminal happily announced, her excitement practically palpable, "Once the twerps round up the runaway Pokemon, they'll bring them, including Pikachu, right back here to the day care centre. By then, we'll have taken over the day care and stolen all its Pokemon! Stealing Pikachu will be a cinch after that!"
Finally, at long last, James finally took on board some of Jessie's excitement.
"You're right, Jessie!" the cyan haired man beamed as he rubbed his hands together enthusiastically, clearly eager to get started now, "This is fantastic!"
"You know, for a plan dat keeps changing, dis one's actually turning out pretty good!" Meowth remarked from below them, unable to keep the note of surprise out of his tone. Jessie nodded and smiled down at the Scratch Cat Pokemon with an air of fondness.
"If we want to be the best Team Rocket operatives we can Meowth, we need to be adaptable" the magenta haired woman commended all three of them on their ability to be just that.
"Yeah, Jessie's right" James nodded his head sagely in agreement. It wasn't long before the furry Normal Type Pokemon was also nodding his head.
"We need to think outside da box if we wanna be da boss's favourites! Meowth!" the Scratch Cat Pokemon cheered excitedly, his tail happily wagging back and forth.
All smiles now, the infamous trio of Team Rocket all quickly retracted their heads back into the bush, their eyes gleaming with anticipation.
"All we need to do now is wait for the twerps to leave and then..." Jessie whispered as she made a gesture in which she violently punched the palm of one of her hands with her other fist, "Strike!"
And as surely as the hands on a clock, strike they would...
Miss Reeni had seen a lot of surprising things over the course of her very long life, but nothing had left her feeling quite as shell-shocked as she did in the current moment. Barely two minutes ago, the kind elderly woman had been enjoying a very nice conversation with two of the extremely pleasant youngsters whose path she had happened to cross with earlier that morning. The conversation had been geared mostly towards Brock as Miss Reeni practically showered the enthusiastic boy with tips in relation to Pokemon dietary requirements, although she also kept bringing the topic back to Water Type Pokemon feeding habits, specifically so that Misty could feel involved in their little chat as well. Everything had been coming on quite swimmingly and Miss Reeni had easily been able to see the spark of passion that was being ignited in the two young Pokemon trainers. It had been incredibly heart-warming for the kind elderly woman to see.
And then, literally from out of nowhere, well... BOOM!
Without any kind of warning or preamble whatsoever, the outer wall of the day care centre's Wet Room came crashing down entirely. Honestly, it was quite fortunate that Miss Reeni, Brock and Misty had all been standing on the other side of the room, otherwise they might have been caught in the downpour of chunks of concrete and cracked plaster, and someone could have been seriously hurt. As it was, they had all been very lucky. Luckier than the room itself, that was for sure.
The place was utterly shambolic.
Many of the tanks that the Wet Room had housed hadn't been fortunate enough to escape the destruction, and now the floor was littered with shards of lethal broken glass and slippery water, which was cascading down in thick torrents like mini makeshift waterfall. Broken wires dangled down from the ceiling precariously, causing the lights to flicker ominously and only serving to add to the danger that this room now possessed. In the remaining tanks, almost all of the Water Type Pokemon that this room had been housing were understandably very alarmed by what it just happened, and now each and everyone of them was now calling out in fear for their beloved trainers to come back and get them. Between them, the frightened aquatic creatures were creating a cacophony that was only second to the roar of the outer wall as it collapsed around them. It left a chill in Miss Reeni's blood to see the room she held such deep affection for in such a pitiful condition.
Finally however, after what felt like an agonising eternity but in reality was just a few short minutes, everything in the room stilled and the noise eventually died down.
It was a few moments later before Miss Reeni felt confident that whatever had just happened had drawn to its conclusion, and once relatively certain that parts of the building weren't going to start collapsing around her again, the kind elderly lady chanced a glance around the formally pristine Wet Room. Her heart sank in her chest as she took in the scene of utter devastation and chaos. The kind elderly lady was quick to turn her attention back to her two young guests however, concern etched on her aged face. Much like Miss Reeni herself probably looked, both Misty and Brock were covered from head to toe in thick heavy dust and were harshly coughing up great lungfuls of the dreadful stuff.
"Be careful, everyone!" the kind elderly lady urged to two young Pokemon trainers at her side, her tone and expression both heavy with worry, "There's glass everywhere!"
Misty and Brock both nodded their heads wearily in acknowledgement of the warning, still too stunned by what had just happened to be able to put their thoughts into actual words. They, along with the distressed Miss Reeni, cautiously began picking their way through the debris. Unfortunately however, they weren't quite cautious enough.
"OUCH!" Miss Reeni suddenly exclaimed loudly, her face contorting with pain as she suddenly felt a jolt of sheer agony shoot through her left ankle.
Upon hearing the sudden cry of pain from the elderly lady that had been so kind to them, both Misty and Brock whipped around in concern. To their collective horror, the duo saw that Miss Reeni had slipped on a puddle of water, and that her ankle was now twisting beneath her.
"Oh!" the kind elderly lady gasped, her face draining of all colour from the immense pain she was experiencing, "My ankle!"
"Miss Reeni!" Brock cried out in alarm. Together with Misty, the youngsters both rush to Miss Reeni's aid, gripping her by the arms and carefully guiding her out of the damaged room.
"Just take it easy" Misty breathed soothingly, trying to reassure the injuries elderly woman, "We'll get you out of here".
"Thank you dear" Miss Reeni gasped back in response.
It was by no means easy, but through their combined efforts and a lot of heaving and tugging, Misty and Brock were able to gently steer Miss Reeni through the hole that had been left in the collapsing wall, and out onto the safety of the grass outside. Perhaps it had been the most risky route to take, but it had also been the quickest and most direct one to safety. Either way, all three of them made it outside of the day care centre in relatively good health, just in time to hear three voices calling out their names in concern.
"Reeni!"
"Brock!"
"Misty!"
Brock and Misty, as well as the kind elderly lady that they were supporting between them, looked across the illustrious battle garden to see Ash, Nolan, and Mr. Tanga all running towards them, all three of their faces filled with concern. Immediately upon reach them, Mr Tanga moved over to help his wife, his eyes widening with the utmost worry for his beloved.
"Reeni, are you alright?" the kind elderly gentleman's tone and expression were both riddled with concern, "What happened, my darling?"
Miss Reeni just barely managed to raise a strained smile for her husband's benefit.
"It's just a sprained ankle, my love" she assured him, although the kind elderly lady couldn't help but wince as her ankle throbbed again, "Several of the tanks in the Wet Room got smashed when the wall came crashing down, and I slipped in a puddle of the water that leaked out".
Mr Tanga's expression began very sympathetic, but before the kind elderly gentleman could his concerns, Nolan beat him to it. His concerns on the other hand were directed towards his travelling companions.
"Are you two okay?" the golden haired boy asked Misty and Brock, his icy blue eyes wide with worry.
"I'm fine..." a particularly pale Misty eventually stammered out, "But the wall! It just...collapsed! It was a shock, that's all".
"Same here" Brock nodded his head wearily, eyeing the mound of rubble that had been a pristine wall ten minutes ago with a heavy frown, "Nothing but a shock to the system".
Nolan and Ash were both very relieved to hear that. Before either of the boys could voice their thoughts however, Miss Reeni quickly turned her attention back to her husband, her mind practically humming with questions.
"But what caused the wall to come down in the first place Tanga?" the kind elderly lady wanted to know. Mr Tanga let out a deep sigh, suddenly looking exhausted.
"Nidorino and Rhyhorn got into a fight again after a pebble suddenly hit Rhyhorn in the face" the kind elderly gentleman shock his head despairingly. He was beginning to think that if those two ever managed to work out their issues, it would be something of a miracle, "Things escalated. Quickly".
"Did you manage to get the situation under control?" Miss Reeni wanted to know, frowning in concern.
Mr Tanga smiled warmly and nodded his head in a reassuring manner.
"Thanks to Nolan's quick thinking, we did" the kind elderly gentleman clapped the golden haired boy in question on the shoulder. Nolan ducked his head modestly, lightly blushing at the man's praise.
"Thank goodness" Miss Reeni heaved a great sigh of relief, smiling at Nolan with her eyes full of gratitude, "I'm so relieved that nobody else was hurt".
Her husband bobbed his head in agreement, but it wasn't long before Mr Tanga's smile faded away and became a concerned frown again.
"But I'm afraid have another problem, my darling. The Pokemon play area was also hit" the kind elderly gentleman looked deeply concerned, and it wasn't long before Miss Reeni was mirroring the troubled expression, "Part of the fence was destroyed, and unfortunately, four of the Pokemon got out and escaped into Orange Town!"
Miss Reeni gasped and covered her mouth with her hand, her face pale with worry.
"Which Pokemon are missing?" the kind elderly lady asked in a breathy whisper, horrified by the news her husband had just imparted upon her.
"Cubone, Oddish, Machop, and Doduo" Mr Tanga listed off, his face growing heavier with regret with each name he spoke.
By the time that Mr Tanga was done, Miss Reeni was utterly aghast.
With a steadfast determination that was a true testament to the woman's character, Miss Reeni tries to go marching off without so much as another word. Before she could take more than a single step however, the kind elderly lady yelped in pain as her ankle suddenly buckled again, forcing Brock and Misty to quickly catch her once more.
"Reeni, you shouldn't move your ankle so much! You need to rest!" Mr Tanga urged his wife, very concerned for his beloved's wellbeing.
Miss Reeni shook her head with an almost frantic urgency.
"I can't rest Tanga!" Miss Reeni sounded appalled by the very suggestion that now was a suitable time for her to be taking it easy, "Those Pokemon were left in our care, we can't leave them out there alone! It's my responsibility to get them back!"
"But Reeni!" Mr Tanga tried to argue with his impassioned wife, hoping to make the woman he loved more than life itself see reason, "You can't even walk!"
Another jolt of pain shot through her ankle, and the kind elderly lady was forced to admit that her husband was right.
"But you can't leave the day care right now either, Tanga!" Miss Reeni fretted, unable to see what they could do to resolve this most horrible situation, "You're needed here to help calm down the other Pokemon. They're all in a state of panic after what just happened!"
Miss Reeni and Mr Tanga both looked deeply worried now. Neither of the sweet elderly couple could see how they were going to get out of this mess.
Momentarily forgotten in the elderly couple's woes, Nolan quickly tore his gaze away from the pair of them, instead glancing over at his friends. The golden haired boy couldn't help but smile when he saw that Ash, Misty and Brock had all clearly reached the same conclusion that he had. The four youngsters all exchanged a nod before they stepped forwards.
"We'll go find them, Miss Reeni Nolan volunteered for all four of them, whilst Ash, Misty and Brock all nodded eagerly in agreement at his side, "Don't you worry!"
"Yeah, we'll get those Pokemon back!" Ash happily concurred.
"We just have to work together!" Misty added brightly, smiling up at the elderly couple who had been so kind to them all.
"You can count on us!" Brock winked reassuringly.
By the time that the four young Pokemon trainers had finished speaking, both Miss Reeni and Mr Tanga looked deeply touched by the kindness they were displaying.
"Are you sure?" Miss Reeni seemed hesitant to accept the offer, knowing that the youngsters were quite busy. She didn't want to put them to any trouble. "You don't have to do this".
"It's no problem" Nolan spoke up again, knowing that all of his friends felt exactly the same, "We want to help".
"Thank you all so much!" Mr Tanga beamed down at the quartet of travelling trainers, his gratitude for what they were offering practically palpable, "This is incredibly kind of you".
Again, all four of the youngsters assured him that it was no problem. Accepting the help offered, Mr Tanga then focused his attention solely upon Nolan.
"Nolan, why don't you take Fang with you?" the kind elderly gentleman suggested to the golden haired boy in question, "Growlithe as a species all have an excellent sense of smell. Fang should be able to help you guys track down the runaway Pokemon".
The golden haired boy hesitated. Although he had long-since come to realise that the Puppy Pokemon had a heart of solid gold, Nolan also knew that he could be a little mischievous when he wanted to be.
"Okay, Mr. Tanga. But Fang can be a little... rowdy sometimes..." Nolan frowned, although he soon smiled when the Fire Type Pokemon in question began nuzzling against his leg in hopeful excitement.
"Just keep an eye on him, Nolan" Mr Tanga chuckled good-naturedly, "I'm sure he'll be as good as gold".
Nolan didn't exactly share the same optimism, but chose to keep his thoughts to himself. If nothing else, Fang was incredibly eager to help, judging by the way he was now bouncing around in circles around Nolan. Not seeing any point in beating about the bush, Nolan, Ash, Misty, and Brock quickly hurried off into the bustling streets of Orange Town, Meadow, Pikachu and Fang all following after them. Miss Reeni, leaning on Mr. Tanga, watched the four of them go, a hopeful smile on her face.
She had the utmost faith that they would not let them down.
The group moved through the streets of Orange Town with the urgency that such a desperate situation warranted, and it wasn't long before Nolan, Ash, Misty, and Brock arrived back at the site where this whole thing had first started for them. The site where Fang had first collided with Nolan. The site where they had first befriended Miss Reeni.
Orange Town's famous orange tree.
Breathless from the speed at which they'd just ran, the group paused for just a moment to try and get some air back into their lungs, before they quickly got down to business.
"Nolan, why are we back at the Orange Tree?" Ash was the one who gave voice to the most obvious question praying on everybody's mind.
"Yeah!" Misty echoed Ash with, her eyes narrowed upon the golden haired boy with an air of frustration in her gaze, "This is no time for sightseeing! I thought you'd gotten your fill of that tree earlier".
Nolan held up his hands towards both of his friends in a pacifying manner.
"Relax guys, it's part of my plan, so listen up" the golden haired boy said as he took charge of the situation, gesturing towards the beautiful living landmark towering over all of them, "This Orange Tree is the geographical centre of Orange Town, guys. It's the perfect place to split up and start our search".
Ash and Misty were slightly taken aback by Nolan's reasoning, but Brock was nodding his head in agreement with the words that the golden haired boy had just spoken.
"Solid logic, Nolan" the aspiring Pokemon breeder praised.
Pleased that he now had everybody's attention and that they knew he wasn't fooling around, Nolan quickly began explaining the plan which he'd come up with whilst on their quick sprint here from the Pokemon day care centre.
"Okay, so Brock, you head North towards the shopping district. Misty, you go West towards the river and forest. Ash, East towards the park" Nolan pointed at each of his three friends in turn as he gave them their individual assignment, before he gestured towards himself and the Fire Type Pokemon that Mr Tanga had so graciously lent to him, "And I'll head South into the residential district. Fang, you stay with me!"
"Wait, hold on" Misty glanced at her blonde haired friend, her eyebrow raised uncertainly, "We're splitting up?"
The golden haired boy nodded his head patiently.
"Yes, it's the fastest way to cover ground" Nolan confirmed, eager to get started now that everybody had been given their area to search, "We just need to be able to communicate if any of us find one of the missing Pokemon, and I've got that part worked out too!"
"Well he's talking sense so far" Ash shrugged his shoulders in the direction of Misty, who to be honest still seemed a little sceptical.
"I'm glad you think so Ash, because I have another favour to ask you" the golden haired boy smiled at his lifelong best friend, who just sighed tiredly and silently gestured for Nolan to ask him whatever it was he wanted to, "I want you to let Misty take Pidgeotto with her".
Nolan's latest words were met with incredulous confusion.
"Why?" the raven haired boy instantly demanded to know. It wasn't that he didn't trust Misty of course, it was just that Ash was very particular about who he let handle his Pokemon. It was a very short list to be honest, although it did include Nolan, and Ash supposed, Misty and Brock as well.
"I do have my own Pokemon Nolan!" Misty exclaimed, a little miffed at the insinuation that they weren't strong enough to back her up in this situation, "I don't need Ash's Pidgeotto for any battling I might need to do!"
Nolan's smile thinned somewhat. It was clear that he was starting to tire with the constant protests.
"All of your Pokemon are Water Type Pokemon, Misty. They can't fly" the golden haired boy had to work very hard to avoid having his tone sound condescending or patronising as he explained, "But if we all have a Flying Type Pokemon with us, not only can we can cover more ground, but we can also keep in contact easier. Ash will have Butterfree, Brock has Zubat, and I have Welkin".
Misty huffed, begrudgingly admitting that Nolan had a point. At her side, Ash and Brock both nodded their heads in agreement with the plan.
"It's a good idea, Nolan" Brock grinned at the golden haired boy in question.
"Okay, here you go, Misty" Ash said kindly, reaching down towards his belt and unclipping the pokeball that held his beloved Pidgeotto inside. He held it out for the Water Type Pokemon specialist to take.
"Alright, alright" Misty sighed as she accepted the offered red and white sphere, holding it tightly in her grasp, "I'll look after her".
Seeing that there was no more interruptions to be had or any other questions that needed answering, Nolan beamed at his thee human friends. Wasting no more time, he quickly prepared to depart from the area to begin his search in his allotted section of Orange Town.
"Okay Meadow, Fang, let's go!" Nolan smiled down at not only his beloved partner, but also the adorable Puppy Pokemon with whom he had already started to bond with, "South, towards the residential district!"
"Bulba!"
"Growlithe!"
Nolan turned and began jogging away from the great Orange Tree, waving a hand over his shoulder as Ash, Misty and Brock all split up and headed off in different directions as well. Despite the fact that he knew all three of them were very capable Pokémon trainers in their own right, Nolan hoped that all of them would be okay as they began their frantic search for the runaway Pokemon. Soon enough, it was just Nolan, Meadow and Fang as the buildings around them quickly became much less varied, all of them became houses or apartment blocks. Nolan paused for moment on a street corner and wiped his brow, glancing around in case he caught a glimpse of Cubone, Oddish, Machop or Doduo. Sadly he saw neither hide nor hair of any of them.
"Okay you two, let's get looking. Fang, remember to stay close to me, alright?" the golden haired boy said to two creatures accompanying him, "Mr Tanga trusted me with you so that you can help me find those missing Pokemon..."
But as he happened to glance down at the ground, Nolan saw a sight that immediately had his heart leaping up into his throat.
Fang... had gone...
Nolan's bright blue eyes widened to the size of frying pans, the breath leaving his body in a sharp gasp, as the boy practically felt his blood turned to ice in his veins. Panicked thoughts immediately began flooding the golden haired boy's mind, making his brain feel as though it was short-circuiting. This could not be happening. He could not be responsible for this. There was absolutely no way that he had somehow lost yet another Pokemon from the Pokemon day care Center. Not after Mr Tanga and Miss Reeni had trusted him with Fang. And yet right in front of his eyes was evidence to the contrary.
Almost immediately, Nolan felt sick.
"Fang?" the golden haired boy just barely managed to stammer out in a weak croak, before he swallowed hard and quickly began bellowing at the top of his lungs, panic immediately taking over, "FANG! WHERE ARE YOU BOY? WHERE DID YOU GO?!"
CRASH!
"AAAAHHHH!"
Instinctively, Nolan whirled on the spot when he heard a great tremendous noise from behind him. Peering past the civilians crowding the busy bustling street, the golden haired boy with practically overcome with an intense surge of relief. For standing there on the side of the road, his fluffy tail wagging happily back and forth and blissfully unaware of the heart attack he had just given poor Nolan, was none other than Fang himself. The adorable Puppy Pokemon was nuzzling against a man in a smart business suit, who unfortunately was sprawled across the ground, surrounded by important-looking documents that had come out of his briefcase, which he had clearly dropped.
Nolan groaned as he quickly realised what must have happened. It didn't take a genius to work out that the small playful Growlithe was responsible for the man's unfortunate trip after all. Sighing, Nolan hurried over to help.
"I'm starting to understand what Mr Tanga and Miss Reeni meant when they said Fang could be a handful..." Nolan grumbled under his breath as he made his way down the street to the fallen man.
"Bulba" the Grass Type Pokemon heaved a great sigh as well.
"I'm so sorry about that, sir!" Nolan exclaimed to the businessman still sprawled out on the ground, quickly pulling Fang away to stop him from licking the unfortunate man's face. The golden haired boy helped the businessman to his feet and gathered the scattered papers, handing them back to their owner, "Fang... he... well, he must have gotten a little too excited".
Huffing indignantly, the businessman scowled down at Nolan as he angrily snatched his papers back and stuffed them into his briefcase.
"Idiot kid!" the man snarled furiously as he roughed brushed some dirt off of his once-pristine suit, "You shouldn't have Pokemon if you can't control them!"
And before Nolan could utter so much as a single syllable in his own defence, the businessman turned his nose up into the air and angrily stormed off. Watching him go, Nolan sighed, massaging his temples to try and ease the headache he could feel brewing, before a scowl overcame his handsome features. The boy turned his attention back to the wayward Pokemon that was supposed to be helping him.
"Fang!" Nolan adopted an incredibly stern tone as he immediately began scolding the playful Fire Type Pokemon, "What was that?!"
He glanced downwards... Only to see that Fang had run off again!
Before Nolan so much as had two seconds to react to Fang's latest disappearing act, a loud shrieking noise came from across the street, reaching Nolan's ears and quickly confirming what he had already been afraid of.
Fang had gotten himself into even more trouble!
Mentally preparing himself for the worst, Nolan looked across the road and to his horror, saw that Fang had now decided to start harassing a woman pushing a baby in a stroller. The Puppy Pokemon was trying to hop up into the giggling infant's arms to snuggle up with it, whilst the mother looked aghast, knowing that despite its cute mannerisms, Growlithe could still be dangerous Pokemon. Nolan honestly couldn't help himself in that moment.
He slapped a hand against his forehead in incredulous despair.
"Meadow..." the golden haired boy groaned in an undertone to his beloved partner, sounding thoroughly exhausted now, "This is going to be a long afternoon..."
"Bulbasaur..." Meadow agreed, giving Nolan a tired look.
Sighing deeply, Nolan quickly hurried across the street to try and tame Fang's excitable urges, and hopefully calm the flustered mother and laughing toddler down. As he did so, one singular despairing thought kept echoing through the golden haired boy's mind.
If they managed to find any of the missing Pokemon with all this chaos Fang was causing, it would be nothing short of a miracle...
Meanwhile, back at the Orange Town Pokemon day care centre, Mr Tanga, being the kind elderly gentleman that he truly was at heart, was helping his beloved wife Reeni towards a chair in the somewhat dishevelled waiting area of the main building. Like the Wet Room, it too had felt the effects of the Sludge Bomb and Fire Blast attacks striking the structure, but it had faired far better than other parts of the day care. Mr Tanga supported most of Miss Reeni's weight as she gingerly clutched at her injured ankle, whimpering in pain with each step she took. It therefore came as no small relief when her husband gently helped her down into one of the comfortable armchairs they had acquired many years ago.
"Sit here, my darling" Mr Tanga spoke in a soft soothing tone to his wife, who was clearly still a little distressed about all the trouble that had occurred earlier that day, "Rest that ankle of yours".
Miss Reeni took a deep breath, but did not seen particularly reassured.
"Oh, Tanga, this is awful" the kind elderly lady fretted anxiously, wringing her hands at the thought of not only the frightened Pokemon currently still residing in the building, but also the four unfortunate souls that had gone missing during all of the chaos. Her gaze fell upon some of the damaged wall, which sadly only served to heighten her already frayed nerves, "What if the whole building comes down?"
Mr Tanga took his wife's hand in both of his own and gave it a gentle squeeze.
"Don't worry, Reeni" he urged, doing his best to calm her down and get her to focus on herself for the moment rather than fretting about everybody else, "The structural integrity… well, it's probably fine for now".
Miss Reeni looked doubtful, but right now she had even more pressing concerns in mind.
"But what about the Pokemon?" the kind elderly lady shook her head despairingly, genuinely feeling her heart breaking in her chest at the thought of how terrified they all must be right now, "They must be so scared with all this chaos".
Concern flashed across Mr Tanga's aged features, forced to acknowledge that his wife had a valid point there.
"You're right" the kind elderly gentleman sighed deeply, loathed to leave his wife when she was injured like this but also knowing it was the right thing to do right now, "I should go check on them".
"Yes, go, dear" Miss Reeni urged her husband, giving him a tiny strained smile when she saw how he hesitated to leave her, "I'll be alright alone for a few minutes".
Sighing, Mr Tanga knew that there was no arguing with his wife when she got like this. So instead of wasting his efforts on trying, Mr Tanga just leaned down and kissed Miss Reeni on the cheek. He started to leave the waiting area, but the kind elderly gentleman had barely taken two steps before something extremely unexpected happened...
Before the very eyes of the bewildered day care owners, thick black smoke suddenly began filling the room.
"Tanga!" Miss Reeni gasped in alarm, gagging as the putrid smell of rotten eggs soon began assaulting her nostrils, "What's happening?!"
Mr Tanga eyed the black cloud of smoking in concern, backing away from it nervously.
"Oh dear..." the kind elderly gentleman muttered in a worried tone, dabbing at his brow with a lace handkerchief, "I wonder if a small fire has ignited after those attacks hit the building? Funny though. I didn't see any flames before..."
Before Miss Reeni could offer any of her own thoughts on the matter, something even more unusual and downright alarming then happened.
A laugh.
A cold, cruel and outright sinister laugh.
From the depths of the inky black smoke still spewing into the room, somebody was laughing at the two of them. Mr Tanga and Miss Reeni both tensed up, both of them knowing instinctively that anybody who found anything humorous about the current situation were not the type of people they wanted to be in the company of.
"What…" Miss Reeni stammered out, starting to tremble slightly as fear began to clench its icy grip on her, "W-Who's there?!"
There was a moment of tense silence... before...
"Oh, you silly old dears!" a voice that practically oozed with smugness called out from the depths of the inky black smoke, female and beyond cruel, "You shouldn't believe every old adage".
"There can be smoke without fire, you see" a male voice added, chuckling sinisterly and sending a cold shiver down the spines of the sweet elderly couple.
As a tense Mr Tanga and a nervous Miss Reeni looked on warily, the smoke cloud slowly began to dissipate, revealing a group of figures that were completely unfamiliar to the kind elderly couple, but would have been horribly recognisable had Nolan and his friends still being at the day care centre.
Team Rocket.
Team Rocket had invaded the Orange Town day care centre.
And it wasn't just Jessie, James, and Meowth this time. The infamous trio were accompanied by Ekans and Koffing, both of whom had already been released from their pokeballs as part of the plan to take over the building and gain control of everyone and everything within it.
Swallowing anxiously, Mr Tanga's eyes immediately honed in on the large red R's emblazoned on the uniforms of the two human members of the group before him. The elderly gentleman gasped in horror as realisation set in.
"Those uniforms..." Mr Tanga breathed, scarcely able to believe that on top of all the other chaos that had already occurred today, now this was happening as well, "I recognise them from the news!"
Standing opposite him; Jessie, James and Meowth all seemed to revel in his frightened exclamation.
"Dat's right, we're Team Rocket! Meowth!" Meowth grinned wickedly at the sweet elderly couple, raising his claws threateningly.
If either Mr Tanga or Miss Reeni were surprised by the presence of a talking Pokemon, neither of them showed it. Instead, Miss Reeni gasped fearfully and covered her hand with her mouth, whilst her husband stood in front of her protectively, clenching his fists in utter outrage.
"Team Rocket?! What in Articuno's name are you doing here?!" the usually kind and gentle old man demanded to know, a righteous anger colouring both his torn and expression, "This is a Pokemon Day Care Centre!"
Across from the raging elderly gentleman, Jessie sneered at him condescendingly.
"Oh, we know, old man" the female criminal laughed nastily, clearly enjoying the anger and fear that their mere present here was causing, "But don't fret. We haven't come to leave our own Pokemon here!"
"No!" James chuckled gleefully at her side, twisting his tacky fake rose between his fingers dramatically, "We're here to take custody of all the Pokemon in this little… well, what's left of this establishment!"
The words alone were enough to strike an unspeakable sense of fear right into the very hearts of Mr Tanga and Miss Reeni.
"No!" Miss Reeni shrieked in alarm, almost falling right out of her armchair in sheer panic, "You can't do that!"
Team Rocket all just laughed cruelly at the pair.
"A couple of dusty old coffin dodgers like you two aren't gonna stand in Team Rocket's way!" James taunted the sweet elderly couple rudely, whilst Jessie and Meowth both just laughed darkly in gleeful agreement with him.
Flaring up, Mr Tanga took another angry step towards the gang of criminals whilst his wife tried to desperately grab hold of his arm to keep him back. He easily shook her off however as he confronted the intruders before them.
"I won't allow a single one of these Pokemon to fall into the hands of thieving scum like you!" the usually kind and sweet elderly gentlemen roared fiercely.
And without pausing to even think about the consequences of his actions or just how unlikely he was to even succeed in his endeavour, Mr Tanga began charging towards the sneering Team Rocket, ready to repel the intruders with his bare hands if he had to. Unfortunately for the kind elderly gentleman however, Jessie had already anticipated his move before he was even halfway across the floor.
"Ekans!" the female criminal turned to her partner Pokemon, a dark gleam shining in her cruel eyes, "Use Wrap and tie him up!"
"Ekansssss!"
The serpentine creature quickly slivered across the floor, and with an almost laughable amount of ease, effortlessly bound the suddenly fragile-looking old man in his thick and heavy coils. With no trouble at all, Ekans was able to pin Mr Tanga to the ground and held him in place, despite the man's best efforts to struggle free.
"Argh!" Mr Tanga grunted in pain as he tried to move his arms and legs but to no avail.
"TANGA!" Miss Reeni screamed her husband's name in sheer panic. She frantically tried to get up out of her chair, desperate to do anything she could to help the man who loved more than life itself to help, but her injured ankle gave way again. Miss Reeni clutched it, whimpering in pain.
The situation truly seemed utterly hopeless.
"REENI! RUN!" Mr Tanga yelled to his wife, frantically trying to free himself from Ekans for fear that these dangerous criminals might go after her next, unable to stand the thought of his beloved wife getting hurt, "GET OFFICER JENNY!"
It was no use though.
Even without her injured ankle slowing her down, there was no way on earth that Miss Reeni would have been able to make it to the door in time to escape.
"Not so fast, old lady!" James last cruelly at the kind elderly lady's misfortune, turning to issue a command to the two Pokemon still lingering by his side, "Meowth! Koffing! Show them what Team Rocket's all about!"
And without so much as even a flicker of guilty conscience or hesitation at the terrible act they were about to commit, Meowth and Koffing both lunged towards the helpless old lady. The Scratch Cat Pokemon's claws were poised, whilst the spherical gaseous creature soared through the air like a demented cannonball.
Miss Reeni barely even had time to scream in terror before they were upon her...
And that's part four over and done with : )
Oh. My. gosh! So much happened in this chapter! I was really tempted to break this up into some smaller chapters, but at the same time, I know that not everybody necessarily likes these original 'episodes' of mine, and so I don't want them to be any longer than the canonical episodes if I can help it. Plus I also really wanted to leave this chapter on the cliff-hanger I did, which I hope you guys enjoyed : )
I also really liked that part at the beginning with Iris and Butterfree working together to neutralise a threat. I've been trying to subtly drop hints for a while now that there is a friendship blossoming between those two characters, but I think this is the first time I've been so direct about where I am planning on going with those two. Like I said when you guys first voted to have a Venonat join Nolan's team though, I've got great plans in mind for her ; )
Finally, I'm also really happy with how Nolan's interactions with Fang are starting to progress. It feels like it's taken a while to get to that topic, which to be honest is the main reason I came up with this 'episode' in the first place. Hopefully Fang's character is coming off the way I want him to. He's just an adorable, over-excitable, playful puppy that can't help but get into trouble, but Nolan loves him for it anyway XD
But I think that's enough about the actual chapter itself for now, so instead let's move on to this week's voting topic. Now that I've defeated the first gym leader in the current nuzlocke and the first evolution has been decided, I've now played ahead a little bit so the order of these voting topics might not follow the natural course of the game as much as it has up until this point. I have reasons for this which will hopefully become clear later on. But for now just know that I have opened up some areas of the map so that I can do this week's voting topic, which just so happens to be my favourite kind, a new Encounter Vote. Yep, it's time to pick Nolan's next Pokemon : ) Here are the options.
Pokemon Options: -
Ilex Forest: - Hoothoot - Female - Lax Nature - Keen Eye Ability
Route 33: - Aipom - Male - Calm Nature - Pickup Ability
Ruins of Alph: - Unown - Genderless - Hardy Nature - Levitate Ability
Azalea Town: - Spearow - Female - Timid Nature - Keen Eye Ability
Dark Cave: - Dunsparce - Male - Hasty Nature - Serene Grace Ability
Honestly, getting a Dunsparce was not as impressive as it might seem. All I had to do was go to a different area and capture the only other eligible encounter for Dark Cave there first for Dunsparce to become the only new encounter for that area. There, a little spoiler for a potential Pokemon choice to come in a future vote ; ) As for why Spearow is here, well let's just say that it wasn't the Pokemon I was hoping for when I used Headbutt on a tree in Azalea Town ; ) Either way though, the choice is up to you guys so please go and leave your vote in a review. I will say this however. From a writing point of view, either one of those two Pokemon I've mentioned is the one that I'm holding out hope for XD
And I think hat's just about everything from me for this time. Thank you so much for reading this chapter and my story in general. I hope you are enjoying it all so far, and please consider leaving a review because I'd love to hear your comments and feedback : )
Until the next time, keep on reading : )
