You're most welcome, loyal vassal.

anyway, w chapter, very nice"
Thank you for the compliments! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Doom Slayer 091: "Adam literally just did a "DOOM Slayer moment".
He just handedly solo all those curses
Someone needs to do a DOOM x JJK story, I mean look at MHA: Unchained Predator it combines the series with the anime very well alongside original stuff
The Demons and the Curses are not different other if you think about it, so it I think it would fit without doubt"
I hadn't even intended for it to be like that, but I certainly do enjoy the thought (of Adam tearing through curses like the Doomslayer)! I also really love that MHA story, it sucks it doesn't get as much love as some of the more…cliche ones on the site.
Besides the whole hell thing, demons and curses really do have some similar features; so I agree!
That guest lol: "I just noticed that he sorta forgot about the triplet grape curses in his pocket. Can he keep them as like video game pets or in his inventory cuz I think having them around could be potentially useful for Adam to troll Gojo or somehow in a fight.
(Update, a day later cuz i forgot to post the comment) Damnit, I can't stop thinking about how funny it would be to witness Gojo finding the three little curses in his food. I even got over my artist block and drew it!"
Hmmm, did he forget about them? And they are definitely pets! I hadn't actually planned on keeping them in the story, but they were just so mischievous they even ended up worming their way into the story! If you want something to compare them to, consider them something along the lines of Tengen's ninja rats from Demon slayer; of course, with how weak they are it'll take some time for them to get strong enough to be truly useful.
Anyway, I'd love to see that picture if you've posted it anywhere! If you haven't or don't want to, that's all good and I'm just glad you're enjoying the story. Send me a pm if you have a link, or even join the discord if you want to post it there!
"You mentioned some…little buggers?" Gojo repeated the phrase in English just as Adam had.
"Oh! Like, annoyances or brats." The boy explained while reaching into his coat. He rummaged around for several moments before procuring a 3 piece set of grape sized curses. "These little guys."
"So how did they end up in your coat?" Maki questioned sternly, kicking a particularly large pile of ash as she passed it. Adam had already apologized for the mess when they complained the first time, so he didn't see a reason to repeat it.
"Well, first they tried to steal my phone." He gestured to said device's position in his coat while talking. "Then when this one's twins ran away after their success, I decided to pick them up and take them with me." His eyes drifted across each of the creatures huddled together in his left hand. "After I got my phone back…I dunno, I just kinda grabbed them and continued moving."
"Tuna mayo." Adam glanced at the boy to his left, Inumaki Toge, if his teacher had told him the right name. His attention turned to Panda immediately afterwards.
Panda blinked back at him, and Adam sighed. "Translation?"
"Oh!" Panda rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "He's probably asking you when you're going to exorcize them."
"Salmon!" Inumaki agreed with a thumbs up. Panda offered one back while Adam's eyes turned back towards the little curses in his hands.
"They are rather cute, aren't they?" Gojo suddenly said, leaning over Adam's shoulder to look at the creatures in his palm. Said boy nodded in confirmation.
"I guess I'll just do it while they're asleep here." Cursed energy pooled into his palm, causing the mischievous creatures to begin to stir. They all peered up at their jailor with panicked eyes, causing the boy to falter slightly. "Ugh." He groaned in annoyance. "I can't do it." His head dropped towards his feet.
"You could just keep them." Gojo offered. He was willing to bend any and all rules if it meant keeping his students satisfied. "As long as you have a vow between you, they can be brought onto school grounds and kept as a sort of sentient weapon."
"There's no way you're serious." Maki scoffed. "These things would probably be killed by a rogue fly head."
"Fish flakes."
"He means that it doesn't matter how weak they are." Panda helpfully explained. Adam glared down at the curses in his hand.
"Alright, you can either be exorcized here and now, or you can live with me." Each of the three curses looked towards each other before shrugging and laying back down on his hand. "I guess that settles it." The boy shoved the back into his coat with a satisfied huff.
"Make sure you feed them." Gojo chirped. "They'll eat anything you give them; including other curses." The group continued to walk, sharing their thoughts and experiences while exiting the manor.
"Oh, right, are you able to teach me some swordplay, Zenin?" Adam asked randomly. The girl mulled over the question for a few moments before shrugging.
"Sure, but don't expect me to go easy on you. What type of blade are you using?" Her eyes trailed up the spear in Adam's hand. "Since you asked for swordplay, I'm guessing this isn't your main weapon?"
Adam followed her gaze up to the tip of his spear before shaking his head. "Right now it is, but I have another one coming in from my home country." Panda's ears perked up slightly at the mention of another country.
"Oh! I'd almost forgotten you were a foreigner; don't know how though, considering how thick your accent is." Adam's face scrunched up in annoyance at the mention of his voice. "So, what's England like?"
"I don't think I'm the best person to explain." Adam replied politely. "I don't have my family's cursed technique, so I was pretty sheltered." The boy noticed Maki freezing in her step for a moment but didn't mention it to the others.
"Mustard leaf." Inumaki replied, glancing between both Maki and Adam as he spoke. Adam looked towards Panda for the translation, but found the cursed doll also staring between both him and the girl to his left.
Before Adam could pursue that line of questioning, Gojo announced they'd be teleporting back to the school in a moment. Having done this many times prior, each student put a hand on the man's back before he clapped his hands, folding the space between them and the edge of the school's barrier. The students quickly went their separate ways for some sleep, planning to continue the conversation that had been started tomorrow.
When Adam arrived at his dorm, he found a covered plate of food laid out on the counter for him. Clearly Fushigoro knew Adam wasn't going to get back until late and had prepared an extra portion for him. A soft smile slid onto Adam's face as he uncovered the plate of food and began to heat it up in the microwave.
Adam watched the bowl of miso chicken spin for several moments before beginning to drag out ingredients from the right side of the fridge. While his food was being heated up, Adam dragged out a bunch of ingredients from their shared pantry. He wasn't too tired yet, so he planned to use the time he had to prepare something for his classmate to eat.
It was more of an experiment if anything else, considering the fact that Fushigoro wasn't a fan of sweet foods. He'd seen the recipe online while searching for things that contained or went well with ginger, so he was sure it aligned with Fushigoro's tastes, but the sweetness could also turn him off of it; if that was the case, he could always just hand them to his teacher, his sweet tooth forced him to eat anything that was remotely sugary.
Adam threw his first ingredient into the pot with a sigh of satisfaction. He wasn't too good at cooking, at least based off of Fushigoro's comments, but baking was something he found pleasure in. Simple, easy to follow, hard to mess up steps that were methodically molded together to create sweets he could enjoy, what wasn't there to love? Another plus was that he didn't have to spend his stipend on ingredients because of Gojo, who'd offered to cover them as long as he got a portion of whatever was made.
Since he was making caramels, he had to stay focused on the temperature and therefore missed the microwave announcing its completed task. It continued to beep for several more moments before being shut off by a very tired Fushigoro, followed closely behind by Kuro and Shiro.
Adam glanced at the direction of the stopped noise, zoning back once he added the final ingredients needed and left the mixture to boil. With one hand constantly stirring the pot, Adam turned to face the new arrival. "Sorry for waking you up."
Fushigoro yawned quietly, taking a seat at the table across the kitchen from his classmate. "What're you making at 2am?" Adam's eyes widened at the mention of the time.
"Are you kidding me? It's barely 11–" Adam froze once he saw the time on Fushigoro's freshly procured phone. "Damn. I'm gonna cancel that mission tomorrow." With a quiet sigh, the boy gestured for Fushigoro to grab his phone off the nearby charger so he could continue to stir.
"So what're you making?" Fushigoro repeated, pulling out two chairs beside him for his wolves.
"Caramel." Adam replied while shutting off the heat. When he saw Fushigoro's divine dogs at the table, a smile returned to his face. "When did they start doing that?"
Fushigoro followed the boy's eyes towards Kuro. "They always have. I just don't usually have them summoned." His right hand met Kuro's head for a pat, causing Shiro to let out a jealous bark from his left. Fushigoro appeased the white wolf with pets of its own.
Adam laughed at his classmate's predicament while removing the caramel from its place on the stove top. "You should summon them more often, maybe they'll get along with my spirits." The boy said absentmindedly, not noticing the confused expression on Fushigoro's face as he scraped in the spices he'd prepared.
That was when Fushigoro noticed movement coming from Adam's collar. He wasn't moving around his head too much, so he couldn't have been the cause of such a disturbance. "Are your spirits in your collar?"
"Yeah, they're pretty small." Adam put down his spatula for a moment in order to reach behind his neck and take them out. He placed them on the counter beside him before gesturing for Fushigoro to go over and look; the boy obliged, and was surprised at what he saw.
Three grape sized curses with blue skin and thin arms and legs. "Is that…an ahoge?" He pointed at the long tuft of curled hair sprouting from the top of one of their heads.
"A what now?" Adam asked, watching his curses chatter to each other unintelligibly under their strict supervision. Fushigoro posed his question to his mind's eye while the curses began to stack on top of each other, stacking into a pile that reached up to his nose in height.
"An ahoge is–" His explanation was cut off by the curses swaying forward and punching him in the nose, causing Adam to burst out laughing. It wasn't a strong hit, coming from a grade 4 curse stacked on top of two others, but it was enough for him to reel back slightly and stop his sentence.
"Good work men!" Adam exclaimed, putting his hand into a salute. The tower of curses collapsed onto the counter before each one stood up and offered their own salute. Adam offered out his hand, and each of the three curses climbed into his coat sleeve with cheeky grins.
Fushigoro quickly slapped a hand on either end of Adam's forearm, trapping the trio in a cloth tunnel that he slowly closed. The boy immediately stopped when he heard a loud squeal coming from inside, causing Adam to laugh again.
"They're fine." He assured, gesturing to his collar where the curses had begun to reappear. Each of them had a frightened smile on their face as they crawled back into their master's hair.
Fushigoro watched them crawl into his classmate's hair with a blank face. "They act like little kids." He commented suddenly, receiving another chuckle in response.
"Yeah, they kinda do." Adam agreed, picking up his spatula again and beginning to stir. "I'm going to head to bed after I put these on a tray; they'll need to cool for a few hours." Several more rotations were made by his spatula before he grabbed one of his prepared baking trays and emptied the mixture onto it, smoothing it out with the rubber tool he'd been using to stir.
"So you said they're caramels, but they look a bit darker than normal ones." Fushigoro hadn't had homemade ones before, but he assumed they'd look at least a little more accurate to the ones he saw his teacher eating on occasion. Compared to those ones, which were a light orange, the ones in front of him were almost brown in color.
"They'll become a bit lighter when they're done, I think; but it could also be the ginger in there." Adam responded before turning away to begin cleaning up.
"Ginger?" Fushigoro's voice perked up slightly at the mention of the spice.
"Yeah, I'm not sure if you'll like them or not though, since you don't have much of a sweet tooth." Adam finished packing away the final bowl and turned on the microwave in order to reheat his food. "Can't believe I forgot about this." The boy sighed, watching the plate spin around monotonously while Fushigoro stood behind him.
"I heard you shouldn't eat right before going to bed." Fushigoro said. Adam rolled his eyes, something that was visible in his reflection on the touchscreen.
"What are you, my dad?" The boy mockingly replied.
"Your friend." Fushigoro answered immediately. "So why did you have a mission planned for today? Usually you at least take a day's break."
"Blindfold wants me to get stronger quickly so we can see how the prestige system works." Adam responded.
Fushigoro hummed in thought, "don't push yourself too hard." He warned, "the stronger you get, the harder it is for you to gain levels, right?"
"Uh, no?" Adam replied questioningly. "It makes it easier for my skills to gain levels, not my main level. That works off of an achievement system from what I've learned online." His left hand activated visibility mode on his cursed technique while he flicked the panel as close as he could towards Fushigoro.
It wasn't a particularly invasive restriction, but it certainly made it annoying when he was trying to show someone something while being occupied elsewhere. His cursed technique always had to be within his vision, the entire thing; he couldn't simply minimize it or push one edge to the corner of his eyesight while leaving the rest invisible. It also had to be his direct vision as well, not a reflection, which was rather odd if he put any thought into it.
Thankfully, Fushigoro knew about this and moved to a spot where it was easier for Adam to see. "If you click on where it says my level, it should come up with a task for me to do." He saw Fushigoro begin to click on everything in sight, excluding the 'borders' Adam didn't think he realized were also buttons.

"'Experiment further with cursed energy' is rather vague, don't you think?" Fushigoro asked.
"Yes and no, that one should be pretty easy as long as I give it some thought." Adam held up one of his fingers and shot out a cursed thread, morphing it with his mind into several structures like the eiffel tower, big ben, and even the outline of one of his new spirits. "This is just simple cursed energy manipulation, at least as far as my cursed technique is concerned. For my next level, I might need to invent a new skill or learn something new about the foundation of cursed energy, or I could even need to play 10 games of cat's cradle at once with just my mind. So really, it could be anything relating to me using cursed energy in a new way."
Fushigoro kept the shock from his face with practiced ease, choosing to weave a remark instead of pestering his friend with another question he probably couldn't answer. "Do you even know how to play cat's cradle?"
"Excuse you, I'm an expert cradler of cats." Adam scoffed with a smile, watching the timer on his meal go down another few seconds. Just as it hit the final one, he pressed the button to open the door and grabbed a towel.
"I'm going to ignore how little sense what you just said makes." Fushigoro sighed, watching his friend zip around the kitchen for a pair of chopsticks to eat with. Adam eventually found some utensils and took a seat at the table next to Kuro. The wolf sniffed at his collar for a bit before looking at its master for approval. "They aren't food, they're his spirits." Kuro almost seemed to huff before returning to its usual calm demeanor.
"So where did you get that theory that I needed to be in life or death situations to level up?" Adam asked while picking up a mound of rice with his chopsticks and blowing on it a few times. "Because if Blindfold also believes that then…"
"He's going to keep shoving you into dangerous missions?" Fushigoro finished. Adam nodded hastily while grabbing another piece of food; this one however, was offered to his collar.
"Eat up." He murmured quietly, beckoning his new spirits to leave his hair and feast. All three of them took a tiny portion before disappearing back into the boy's snow colored locks. "Yeah, so I should probably tell him about it." A smirk slipped onto the boy's face as a new idea popped into his head. "Unless…I use a low grade mission as a little training arc to confuse him."
Fushigoro rolled his eyes in response. "That might work if Gojo was relying on your public rank to gauge your strength, but he knows how powerful you are. He'll realize something is up immediately."
A smug look settled on Adam's face as he rested a hand on his chin. "Clearly," he began, his smirk growing ever wider, "you don't know our teacher."
"Is that a bet I'm hearing?" Fushigoro asked in response. "Those usually don't go so well for you." Adam froze slightly before narrowing his eyes at his friend.
"Not this time." He held out a hand that Fushigoro accepted readily. Adam ignored the nagging feeling in the back of his mind that told him he'd vowed never to do this again. "I'll be expecting a wonderful full course after I win."
"I'll be expecting you to cook for the rest of the week with how often you lose." Fushigoro replied with a small smile. Adam scoffed before vacuuming up the rest of his meal and heading towards his room.
He lost again.
Adam punched the floor in anger under the watchful gaze of his teacher. "Is something wrong?" The man asked with a cheerful smile. Adam raised his fist again, only for one of the fingers to flick out at a perfect 90 degree angle. "My, how rude." Gojo chuckled.
"Why did you even come? This was supposed to be my big break you Blindfolded idiot." Adam growled in annoyance. Now he was stuck making food for the entire week!
Gojo laughed again, which only served to spur on Adam's annoyance. "Well, I thought you might be using a mission like this to experiment with your cursed technique since you canceled your higher ranking one for this." He gestured to the decaying corpse of a grade 2 curse nearby. "So what were you doing?"
"Leveling up." Adam murmured with a sigh while returning to his feet. "I'm guessing you already know how that works?"
"Yes, I saw it in the hospital." Gojo replied simply, which caused Adam to put his head in his hands.
"I forgot all about that!" He yelled in frustration. "Ugh, god damn it. Now I have to cook all of our meals for the rest of the week." Seeing his teacher's confused face, the boy explained. "We made a bet to see whether you would realize something was up if I returned stronger from a low ranked mission than I did a high ranked one."
"Oh! And you were on the losing side?" The answer was obvious, but Gojo felt a need to press the nail a bit deeper. Adam let out an annoyed laugh in vain of a response. With a mental command, the boy's cursed technique became visible to all.
"I've gained 4 so far, so that's one more to go until I reach level 30, but I still haven't gotten a skill. I think they'll come automatically when I perform the actions again when I'm under threat." Adam shrugged.
"Wow, that's…very quick. What do you need to do for your next one?" Gojo hovered over his student's shoulder while surveying the screen in front of him. "Oh my." His eyes widened slightly before drifting downwards towards another part of the screen. "So what're you going to do with your 42 stat points?"
Adam's screen disappeared from the man's view as he sighed. "I don't know. I was thinking of putting more into cursed energy or health, but my charisma is abysmally low; especially without my title."
"Oho? Trying to woo a lady or something?" Gojo twirled around to his student's front with a cheeky grin on his face. "Don't worry, young padawan, I can teach you my ways without any need for stat points."
Adam's deadpan expression almost caused the man to trip over his feet. "I don't think you can lecture anyone on how to 'woo' another, considering the fact you don't have a partner."
Gojo shrugged with a smile. "I can get one whenever I want." Adam didn't seem to believe him by the way his face stayed completely stone cold. "So who're you into?"
The boy rolled his eyes, his face growing more irritated by the minute. "Nobody right now, I just thought a balanced build would be better." He replied coolly.
Gojo grinned devilishly at his student's reply. "Sure you did." Adam frowned at the sarcastic response. "Just so you know, my door is always open when it comes to things like that."
"As if, you just want gossip." Adam scoffed. His mentor shrugged noncommittally. "Maybe I'll come to you with future romantic troubles if you get a girlfriend first." Gojo's smile dropped slightly. "Oh, is there something wrong with that condition?" Adam asked smugly, happy to have gotten revenge on the man that had caused him to lose a bet.
The man in front of him suddenly gained a pensive look however. "Do you have someone in mind?" Adam asked experimentally. His teacher shrugged in response.
"I could, but I'm not too sure." Mentally cataloging the information for later, Adam's smug look returned.
"Just make sure your infinity protects against lung cancer." The boy warned. "And my door is always open if you need it." He quickly left the room afterwards, messaging his manager for a pickup. Gojo stood in the room alone for several moments before shrugging and clapping his hands.
Just adding this at the end because I didn't describe the second year's appearances; yes that is intentional. I just didn't want to bloat the word count by adding unnecessary descriptions for characters that only really shine later on.
