Welcome back to A Song of Spiders and Dragons. Last time, MJ, Ember, and Flame explained how the three of them ended up in the middle of a robbery at the Fisk estate sale. After handing the file over to Spyro, Cynder, and Spider-Man, the trio is sent to prepare for an escape, while the terrific trio works on eliminating the masked men running around. So how's that going to go? Read on to discover...

(Our scene picks up in the main area of the auction house, where Spyro, Cynder, and Spider-Man have exited the vent system and are on the supporting rods for the curtains, preparing to take out the enemy, when MJ calls in to signal the trio.)

Spider-Man: Where are you guys?

MJ: We're hidden near the front. Give us the cue and we'll make a break for it.

Cynder: What's with this file anyways?

Spyro: Yeah, what's in it that's so important?

Ember: It's filled with notes on something called "Devil's Breath".

Flame: Looks like Fisk was hired to build a secret research facility for the stuff.

MJ: No idea what it is, but Fisk was definitely scared of it. He even compares it to "opening Pandora's Box".

Spyro: Not much could shake the Kingpin.

Cynder: Now that's the understatement of the year.

Spider-Man: We've got to get you three and that file out of here. Fast.

(With that, the call ends and the trio goes back to taking out the masked foes, with Spyro making full use of his new invisibility. And before long, all the masked men blocking the exit are down, but not before a ruckus can be heard)

MJ: Let go of me, you creep!

Spider-Man: They've got MJ!

(And sure enough, a quick transition later and we see that our three intrepid journalists have been captured, and the file seized. But before anyone can get shot, Spider-Man and company burst through a display wall, taking down the gunmen while the third runs with the file after calling for backup. And soon enough, the battle begins again, but this time the goons display some strange photonegative glowing energy)

Spyro: Are you seeing this energy, you two?

Cynder: Kind of hard to miss it.

Spider-Man: Are these guys ghosts or something? Because if so, that's a new one for me.

(The trio perseveres though. But as more are taken down, more masked men run in, some of them armed with weapons charged with this strange energy. Soon enough though, the enemy is beaten.)

Cynder: (Taking one of their masks) This looks antique. Lovely woodworking too.

Spider-Man: I think we've got someone who can tell us more.

Spyro: (Hearing something) We'll have to do it later. Looks like the cops are here.

MJ: Looks like they got away with the file.

Spyro: Still, at least you three are okay.

MJ: We'll have to catch up about it later. We've still got some reporting to do.

Spider-Man: Meet up at Mick's afterwards?

Ember: I'm game.

Flame: Why not?

MJ: (With a sarcastic roll of the eyes) Sure.

Cynder: Alright, we'll meet you there.

(And with that, the trio slings out, but before any more journalism can be done, we fast forward to a few hours later, where the whole gang is sitting in a booth at Mick's.)

MJ: Since when did Mick's become Italian?

Spider-Man: No clue. But am I glad they still make these fries.

Cynder: Got that right, best in the city.

Spider-Man: So how's the grind at the Bugle.

Flame: Well, let's just say for pulling this stunt, at least if Mr. Robertson's all caps text about it is to be believed, we're going to have a meeting with the legal team.

Ember: Again.

Spyro: Hey, when Robbie reads the article you three would right, I'd guarantee a promotion.

MJ: So, creepy masked guys. What's your take?

Cynder: So far, so... New York. Yours?

MJ: Not sure. It feels like there's a bigger story here.

Ember: Let's not make this all about business.

MJ: Agreed. How are you three doing? (To Spider-Man) Did you end up getting that promotion?

Spider-Man: No. But we're on the cusp of something big. You should see how excited Doctor Octavius is about it.

Flame: You guys know Oscorp would hire you in a heartbeat, Pete. One call to Harry, and...

Spider-Man: But Doctor Octavius' work will help millions. I'm right where I need to be, where I should be.

Spyro: And we're glad to be right alongside in this endeavor.

MJ: Almost sounds like it's more important than your other job. I've never heard any of you talk like that before.

Cynder: Six months can really change a person, I guess.

MJ: (Cutting right to the heart of the matter.) So why did you ask us here?

Spider-Man: Dinner between friends? We haven't heard from each other in half a year, figured it made sense if we could still be friends. If everyone wants to.

MJ: There's a lot of baggage between the six of us, that's for sure.

Spider-Man: Baggage can carry good things too.

MJ: (As Spider-Man starts stumbling over his words) Do you remember why we broke up, Pete?

(But before Spider-Man can answer, a bunch of police cars drive by.)

MJ: Saved by the siren.

Spyro: Well, looks like we're needed.

Cynder: Catch you guys around, I guess?

Flame: Sounds good by me.

Ember: We really should do this more often.

(And with that, our trio of heroes rush out, but not before leaving cash behind so the journalists aren't stuck with the tab. But just as the latter trio leaves, a familiar face recognizes them)

Stan Lee: Good seeing you all together again. You always were my favorite customers.

(And with a smile towards him, the trio of journalists leave, ending our scene for today)

That looks like a good spot to end for now. You guys knew I had to include one of Stan Lee's final cameos, it would just be weird not to. Is it too soon though, I wonder? Maybe, but I couldn't just ignore it. Anyways, looks like something's up in the neighborhood. So, what's going on? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
