Welcome back to A Song of Spiders and Dragons. Last time, Spyro, Cynder, and Spider-Man arrived at Empire State University searching for Doctor Isaac Delaney. After the dragons struck out, everybody converged on where the good doctor was, but after a convenient distraction by a guy dressed as Rhino, the Demons managed to get to him first, leading him into the science building. But our terrific trio wasn't far behind. So, what waits within the science building? Read on to discover... (Before we begin, this chapter does contain a suicide. If you're sensitive to that kind of thing, click away now)

(Our scene resumes inside the science building, with the trio of Spyro, Cynder, and Spider-Man watching from the rooftop as the Demons drag in Doctor Isaac Delaney while a couple of poorly placed students watch on)

Isaac Delaney: Hey, be careful would you?! Just tell me what you want already!

Student: There's no way. Those aren't real guns, right?

Demon: Back. Now.

(But the student doesn't back off, and gets himself put into a chokehold with a gun to his head, prompting our terrific trio to jump into action)

Spider-Man: Let him go!

(With his quick timing, Spider-Man manages to get the student out of the Demon's grip before knocking him out. Meanwhile, Spyro and Cynder have already started to work on his companions, barely giving Spider-Man a minute to fight them, though he does save them from a whip wielding Demon.)

Spyro: Everybody okay out here?

Student: Yeah.

Spider-Man: Well, uh... happy Halloween everybody.

Cynder: Hate to save and dash, but we've got to get moving.

Spider-Man: (Sees a vent) And there's our way in.

(With that, Spider-Man slings into the vents, with the two dragons not far behind)

Spider-Man: I've been meaning to ask, how do the two of you always manage to fit into the vents with me?

Spyro: Combination of not being fully grown yet...

Cynder: And intense amounts of yoga. Definite don't try this at home material.

Spider-Man: Gotcha.

(The vent crawling isn't particularly successful at first, but ultimately our terrific trio follows the villains' trail from the wall outside, and this time end up in the right vent, leading them to what looks like a server room, where they observe as Doctor Isaac Delaney is forced to the ground, in front of a very familiar face.)

Isaac Delaney: What do you want with me?!

Martin Li: (Emerging from the shadows) You recently began working with someone at an Oscorp lab.

Isaac Delaney: (In complete shock) How... how do you know that?!

Martin Li: We don't have much time, Isaac. Tell me his name.

(But Isaac Delaney still isn't saying anything. Martin Li is clearly annoyed, but is trying to appear calm, so instead he channels his power into himself, finally becoming his photo-negative counterpart: Mister Negative)

Mister Negative: Fine then, I guess we'll do this the hard way.

(As a Demon backs him up, Mister Negative presses a hand onto Isaac Delaney, corrupting him just as the trio steps in)

Spider-Man: Show's over, Martin!

(Unshaken by the trio's appearance, Mister Negative drains the energy from two of his Demon goons, and throws it out at the trio in a massive energy burst, trapping them under a server)

Spyro: Guess that was just intermission then.

Cynder: Then we'll bring the final curtain down.

(This blast seems to have drawn all the strength out of Mister Negative, as he falls to a knee in exhaustion)

Mister Negative: His. Name.

Isaac Delaney: (In a strange, warped voice) Dr. Morgan Michaels.

(With the information finally gained, Mister Negative signals to the Demon holding a gun on Isaac Delaney. At which point, the goon hands Isaac Delaney the gun, who then slowly begins putting it to his own head. But before our trio of heroes can stop him, Isaac Delaney shoots himself in the head, falling over dead on the spot. While Mister Negative leaves, the Demons move in on the pinned trio. And in that moment, our terrific trio gets the server off of themselves and start fighting off the Demons one by one. And within moments, the Demons are bested)

Spider-Man: That's all of them.

Spyro: It's official. Martin Li is dead now.

Cynder: Metaphorically, yes. By the time I catch up with him, it'll be literal.

(With that, Cynder dashes off into the shadows)

Spyro: We better catch up with her before she does something she'll regret.

Spider-Man: Weird, she's usually stopping me from doing something stupid.

(The guys rush off after Cynder, hoping to stop her before something horrible happens either to her or to their opponent, as our tale ends for today)

And that looks like a good place to wrap up for now. And now you've seen it. This is the moment where Martin Li has fully died. He will be known in the format as Mister Negative from this point forward. Hope the warning didn't scare too many people off because otherwise the next chapter is never going to make sense. But it looks like Mister Negative and his powers have Cynder really ticked off. Hopefully nothing bad happens to her. But will Spyro and Spider-Man be able to ensure that?
