Welcome back to A Song of Spiders and Dragons. Last time, after narrowly escaping getting shot by a Demon by convincing them that, as members of the press, they could get Osborn to GCT sooner, MJ, Ember, and Flame teamed up with Spider-Man, Spyro, and Cynder, taking out the drones hovering around the room and a few of the Demons guarding the hostages, but not before Mister Negative showed up, which is where we left off. So, what awaits? Read on to discover...

(Our scene picks up exactly where we left off, with Mister Negative arriving on the scene just as our sextet of heroes start making their way to the hostages)

Mister Negative: (In Chinese) Where are the reporters?!

Demon: (Responding) Around here somewhere. We will find them.

(Thankfully, we find MJ, Ember, and Flame first, hiding behind some weapons crates.)

MJ: We've got to get past them.

Spider-Man: We're ready. Just give the signal.

Mister Negative: Are the drones still armed?

Demons: Shen had the controls, but now nobody can seem to find them.

(As Mister Negative berates the Demons for losing the drone controls, MJ gives a signal, and Spider-Man web lines one of the screens, pulling it down on two of the Demons as Spyro and Cynder swoop in and take out two more. Mister Negative has finally realized his foes are here)

Mister Negative: Start the timer.

(Sure enough, one of the Demons starts the timer on the microbe dispersal device. Knowing that thing's a threat, MJ, Ember, and Flame sneak over to it, hoping to disarm the thing)

Spyro: What on earth are you doing?!

Flame: Trying to save lives.

Cynder: (Realizing they're getting nowhere arguing) Tell us what you see.

Ember: (Picking up the device) Four wires. The blue ones look like they run to the battery, and the yellow one to a fan of some sort. Red's just got an exclamation mark by it.

Spider-Man: Pull the battery first.

MJ: Got it.

(Just as MJ disconnects the battery wires, the device beeps and the timer changes)

Flame: Got a problem here, the timer just changed to 30 seconds!

Spider-Man: Because of course it's a collapsing circuit.

Spyro: Take out the fan, and then the red wire. Quickly!

(With Ember and Flame to steady her hands, MJ quickly but carefully pulls the last two wires, disabling the device before it could disperse a massive plague across NYC.)

MJ: We got it!

Spider-Man: Nice going!

Ember: Now to get these people out of here.

Flame: Are you three ready?

Spider-Man, Spyro, and Cynder: You know it.

(With no hesitation in their movements, Spyro, Cynder, and Spider-Man start clearing a path for the hostages. But even with stealth on their side for a while, it's inevitable before the Demons catch onto them. But they've got enough out of the way, that Spider-Man radios back to MJ)

Spider-Man: Path's as clear as you're going to get!

MJ: (As the three are seen in action) Everybody follow us!

(Before long, MJ, Ember and Flame have the hostages evacuated. But now the Demons focus all their attention on the three heroes remaining. Thankfully though, taking out Demons has become second nature to these three. While this is happening, Mister Negative has managed to get onto one of the train platforms)

Cynder: (Spotting the fleeing Mister Negative) He's heading for that train platform!

Spyro: Li's not getting away on our watch!

(Taking out the last of the Demons on their way, Spyro, Cynder, and Spider-Man make their way towards the train platform where Mister Negative was spotted. As the last Demon falls, but just as the train pulls away, the trio zip into the train, prepared to confront Mister Negative once and for all as our tale ends for today)

And that looks like a good place to wrap things up for now. Next time, the final battle with Mister Negative. Now admittedly, the last few chapters could just as easily been a single chapter. Of that much I'm well aware. For some reason I just felt the need to stretch this one out. No idea why, but I just did it. It wasn't to get more time out of this story before anyone asks. This one's got plenty of time on it, considering there's still way more story to cover after Mister Negative is done. And I don't mean DLC. Little spoiler for what's ahead there in case you somehow haven't played this or seen somebody else play it yet. Anyways, next time, the confrontation begins. But will our heroes emerge victorious over their former friend? Tune in next time for the answers! Same time... same channel!
