Hey everyone, and welcome back to another chapter of Season Five, Starring Cory Monteith! Before you get into reading, I do want to point out that this chapter is very, very similar to that of the actual Glee episode "Trio." The key difference here is that there is no New York subplot; that is going to be replaced by the resolution of the ongoing Marley/Jake/Bree plot. This episode does set up some big stuff for the conclusion of Season Five, and obviously will contain some differences from the original episode that will carry over into future episodes, so it's still important to read on!

A big character will be making their Season Five, Starring Cory Monteith debut next chapter. They have been referenced numerous times throughout this season so far and will remain in the story until the end of the season. They have NOT yet appeared. Who do you think it'll be? Leave your guesses in your reviews or PM me!

Also, next episode is PROM! Counting next episode, there are only a handful of episodes left of Season Five; there are FOUR episodes left.

I hope you guys enjoy this chapter! Don't forget to leave a review if you did!

TRIGGER WARNING: This episode of Season Five, Starring Cory Monteith contains references to abuse and abusive situations.

Episode 5x09: Legacies

Synopsis: Finn, Marley, Kitty, and Jake enlist the help of Coach Shannon Beiste (Dot-Marie Jones) to help address Bree (Erinn Westbrook) and her situation. Sam, Tina, and Blaine enjoy one of their last nights as McKinley High seniors together, while Mr. Schue and Miss Pillsbury (Jayma Mays) struggle to get on the same page of their intended conception.

Absent: Lea Michele as Rachel Berry, Chris Colfer as Kurt Hummel, Naya Rivera as Santana Lopez

Finn sat in the empty choir room with various papers scattered across the floor. A mixture of sheet music that was in consideration for Nationals and notes from his college courses, there certainly was a lot of pressure on his shoulders. Finals were coming up, and Nationals were the following day, and with all of these things on his plate, he barely had time to remember to breathe. Burt always said that "pressure makes diamonds," but from where Finn was sitting, it seemed like pressure was about to leave him shattered in a million little shiny pieces.

"Hey, busy bee!" Finn's brief moment of tranquility came to a close as his girlfriend, Penny Owen, entered the room, smiling. She had a McDonald's bag in her hand, which she handed to Finn as she took a seat next to him. "Figured you could use a little brain break." She pecked him on the cheek and motioned once again to the McDonald's.

Finn smiled, putting a hand on her leg and giving her a kiss on the cheek of her own. "Thank you." It had been a few days since he came back from New York, and he felt... weird. Rachel officially knew about Penny, so all his relationship turmoil should have theoretically gone away, but the aftermath of that conversation was just another thing weighing on his shoulders. He couldn't help but wonder if he made the right decision or not, but the fact of the matter was it didn't matter if it was right or wrong. The decision was made. Plus, the other things in his life were far more important at the moment.

"What are we working on now? Setlist or studying?" Penny inquired.

"I just moved on from studying for my finals to looking for songs," Finn explained, flipping through the dozens of sheets of music before him. "I thought there being no assigned theme for Nationals would make things so much easier for us, but honestly, it's making it even more challenging."

"Where's Mr. Schue? Shouldn't he be helping you?"

"He was, but he's a bit preoccupied right now." Finn knew what Mr. Schue was up to, but not even he wanted to know, so he decided it would be best to spare Penny the details.

"Well, the notes and the music aren't going anywhere. You need to eat something to keep your brain going," Penny nudged his shoulder, once again pointing down to the bag of fast food on Finn's lap. "Come on, it's gonna get cold!"

Finn chuckled softly. "Thank you again, babe, I really appreciate it."

As he began to eat his lunch and make small talk with Penny, a few of the glee kids entered the choir room; Jake, Marley, and Kitty.

"Hi Finn. Penny." Marley stood awkwardly and waved. "Am I interrupting anything?"

Finn shook his head. "No, no, I was just eating lunch." Part of the problem with Finn's loaded schedule? He didn't know how to make time for himself because he was such a dedicated worker and friend. "Are you guys okay?"

"Well, while you were in New York visiting your brother, we found out something about Bree." Marley looked at Jake, who nodded his head in encouragement, as she turned back to Finn and Penny. "We were wondering if you could help."

Finn looked surprised. "You waited until I got back to address this? Why didn't you just go to Mr. Schue?"

"You kind of understood the situation a bit better than Mr. Schue," Jake said quietly.

"You know, since you yelled at her and kicked her out of glee club the same week you got her to join back," Kitty added, with her trademark Kitty Wilde sass.

Ignoring Kitty, Finn sat up. "Well, what's going on?"

Kitty and Marley stayed quiet as Jake admitted to Finn what was going on. "Bree's parents are abusing her."

Instantly, Finn's eyes widened as Penny gasped. Within a second he dropped his notes and lunch as he stood up. "Guys, are you sure about this? This is a pretty serious accusation."

"She told me herself," Jake blurted out in a panic. "I saw the bruises."

Finn put his arms around Jake and Marley's shoulders, turning their bodies to face Kitty. "Guys, thank you for coming to me with this. We're gonna figure this out, I promise."

The moment came to an end when they heard a scream. Finn quickly darted out into the hallway to see what the ruckus was about, as he saw Becky Jackson sprinting down the hallway, followed closely by Mr. Schue and Miss Pillsbury, begging her to stop. Penny crept up behind Finn to see what the commotion was all about, with Jake, Kitty, and Marley close behind.

"What's going on?" Penny asked.

With a groan, Finn responded, "You really don't want to know."

The scene cut to an ashamed looking William Schuester and Emma Pillsbury sitting in Sue Sylvester's office, who stared back at them in disgust. "I am disturbed on every level, and Becky has been scarred for life." Becky sat in the hallway outside of Sue's office, staring into space as if she had seen a ghost.

Emma spoke up first; a bold move, considering she wasn't usually the one in the relationship to do so. "Sue, I'm mortified."

Will added on, "Sue, we are so, so-"

Sue put her hand up, signaling him to stop. She looked at Emma and said, "I'm aware that the pheromones admitted from the orifices of your porous, bird-lady pelvis, can cause an overwhelming urge to copulate in some emotionally stunted man-children, with buttchins, who befriend teenagers and can't rap." Will opened his mouth to interject, but was once again stopped by Sue, who continued to speak directly to Emma, "But, why could you not wait to copulate until you returned to the sickly sweet stench of your own conjugal bed?"

"Um..." Emma looked at Will, and then back to Sue. "Well, Sue, Will and I are trying to conceive a child."

"Oh, my god. Why?" Sue could barely get the words out, as she felt a bit of vomit coming up.

Emma continued, "There are certain windows of time where fertilization is most likely."

"We finally feel like we have some financial security. I'm 37..." Will added.

Emma, so in synch with her husband, picked up right where he left off. "Yes, and I'm of a... similar age range, and after the age of 35, you know, the chances of birth defects increase dramatically." Sue nodded, somewhat understanding. Emma continued, "There's fragile X chromosome, there's Downs syndrome..."

"What's wrong with Downs syndrome?" Sue asked defensively; her sister Jean and her daughter Robin both had Downs syndrome, as did Becky, who suddenly appeared in the doorway to ask the same question.

"What? N-no, nothing!" Emma panicked.

"Nothing," Will blurted in agreement. "Look, Sue, we are so sorry. This is not gonna happen again, I promise. Please do not tell Figgins," he pleaded.

"Well, hopefully it won't happen again, if I hurry up right now, and lie down on the floor of my office, and put my feet up on a chair, because we were able to achieve a successful mission."

Suddenly, the vomit sitting in Sue's throat began to rise. She gagged as she demanded, "Get the hell out of my office. Please. Thanks." The couple smiled and darted out, with Will giving Becky a quick high-five, as Sue continued to retch. "Nope. Didn't need to know that! Nope!"

The trio of seniors finished their number to loud roars of applause from their fellow glee club members, as well as both Mr. Schue and Finn. "You guys, that was amazing!" Mr. Schue smiled happily.

"But, it's not right for Nationals." Finn immediately said in a panicked tone, the pressure of picking the perfect setlist remaining in the forefront of his thoughts.

Unique snapped her finger in agreement with Finn. "Yes, because Unique will not standing in the back swaying while you guys go all Three-yonce in the spotlight."

"Why does everything you say have to sound like that..." Kitty groaned to herself, receiving a glare from Unique in the process.

Tina, out of breath, shook her head and hands. "We know it's not right for Nationals, we just wanted to do it for fun."

Blaine nodded in agreement, leaning against the piano. "Yeah, we were talking and realized we had never actually done a number together."

Sam, who had sat on the piano, jumped down and put his arm around Tina, who looked up at him and smiled. "As seniors, we realized we were running out of time and wanted to feel the power of a trio."

Artie, feeling left out, spoke out. "Which I learned in my senior math class is about 25% less powerful than a quartet." The trio looked around at each other with weird faces.

"Well, I'm really glad that you guys did that." Mr. Schue stood up and faced the class. "Finn knows this feeling already, but what you don't realize is that these are friendships you're going to cherish for the rest of your lives. You gotta squeeze in as many experiences as you can because, for you seniors, you're all going your separate ways very soon."

Finn nodded in agreement, frowning softly as he remembered the days of high school, where nothing in the world mattered besides football and glee. Tina began to frown too, but she quickly became much more emotional than Finn, as tears began to fall. She looked to Sam and Blaine as she softly began to whimper. The two quickly embraced her, whispering softly that it would be okay.

Well, Blaine whispered softly, anyway. Sam began to scream "no" at her.

Artie wheeled over with a smile. "Tina!" He said comfortingly, wheeling himself over and giving her a hug.

"No. You had your chance during Michael 2.0 week," Sam said in an almost jealous tone as he put a finger on Artie's forehead and pushed him back towards the rest of the glee club. His wheelchair was quickly caught by Kitty as Blaine, Sam, and Tina continued their trio love fest, leaving Artie to frown to himself as the bell rang once again.

Finn entered the teacher's lounge the next day with his bagged lunch in hand, scanning the room to see who he would sit with; Penny had taken the day off to visit her parents in Cleveland. Thankfully, his lunch break aligned with an old friend, who turned out to be just the person he needed to talk to. He walked across the teacher's lounge and pulled up a chair, bringing it over to where his former football coach, Shannon Beiste, sat.

"Hey, Coach! Mind if I take a seat?"

Beiste looked up and grinned from ear to ear. "Nice to see you, pumpkin! Yes, join me." Finn did just that. "So, how's that little lemon drop of yours doing?"

"Penny? Oh, she's fine. She's not here this week."

Beiste ripped into her chicken as she nodded. "I heard you finally told Rachel about her. Good for you."

"Who told you that?"

"I talk to Kurt every so often," Beiste explained as Finn rolled his eyes; Kurt loved to gossip. "Anyways, I'm proud of you, honey bunches of oats. I know how much you cared about Rachel; she was the seven iron to your bright white Titleist as it lay in the fairway. Maybe one of these days you'll reconnect."

"Maybe." Finn shrugged as he began to eat his peanut butter and jelly. "Do you mind if I talk to you about something else? Something kind of serious?"

Beiste nodded. "Anything for you, kiddo."

Quietly, Finn whispered, "We've got a situation. A student here with an abusive home life."

Beiste's smile faded as she put her chicken down. "Who?"

Finn nodded. "Bree, that mean girl on the Cheerios. Marley, Jake and Kitty came to me yesterday. I don't really know what to do and I was hoping you would help me? If you're comfortable, that is." Finn didn't want to bring any bad memories back to Coach Beiste, but his senior year of high school she was in an abusive marriage with her then-husband, football recruiter Cooter Menkins. She was able to get out of the toxic situation and move on with her life, which is why Finn thought she would be the perfect person to try and address the situation.

"Are you 100% sure about this, pumpkin?" Beiste asked.

"You know my glee kids mean well," Finn said in confirmation. "They waited until I was back from New York to talk to me about it. They clearly trust me, and I trust them. They're trying to do the right thing." He reached out and took Beiste's hand. "If this isn't something you're okay with doing, I understand."

Beiste placed her other hand on top of Finn's and shook her head. "Nobody deserves to go through what I went through. We'll help this girl out, I promise."

"Thanks, Coach."

The two continued on with conversation about football, Finn's classes, and just about anything under the sun. Finn had a lot of positive adult role models in his life, and Coach Beiste was certainly one of them. As they chatted, Mr. Schue entered the teacher's lounge and took a seat at their table, looking somewhat distraught.

"What's going on, Mr. Hot in the Pants?" Beiste asked teasingly, pushing Will and laughing.

"I'm sitting right here," Finn said in disgust. "Gross."

"I'm sure you two heard about Miss Pillsbury and I's little incident..." Will rolled his eyes and began eating. "But the pregnancy test came back negative. I offered for us to take a day off and go see the fertility doctor, and she just got all weirded out. Offended, almost."

"I'm real sorry, Will," Beiste said comfortingly as she continued to eat her lunch. Finn, not yet mature enough to grasp the situation, just sat there, grossed out at the thought of Mr. Schue and Miss Pillsbury having sex, married or not.

Sue, who had been lurking in the background since Will entered the teacher's lounge, made it her mission to approach now. "I don't mean to intrude, William, but far be it from me to tell you how to inseminate a frail, neurotic woman that I hate. It occurs to me that you might want to try to relax your already mentally fragile ape-wife, instead of making her cervix snap shut like a barnacle, by bombarding her with a barrage of pregnancy statistics."

Will looked to Finn and Beiste for support, but neither budged. "Sue has a point there, huh," Beiste agreed reluctantly.

"Oh, stop agreeing with me," Sue objected. "You don't know what you're talking about. The only thing I could see you giving birth to is a bushel of russet potatoes." Finn went to interject, but Sue quickly silenced him. "Don't you dare try to contribute to this conversation, Breakfast Club." She took a seat next to Will and continued on with one of her famous rants. "You know, when Michael Bolton impregnated me, he called in a favor from his old friend, Kenny G. He stood at the foot of our bed and serenaded us on soprano sax, and as Michael used every inch of his enormous, silky smooth vocal range, to sooth me into a state of relaxation so deep that it could only be described as religious."

Will couldn't help but roll his eyes; Finn even got up and left the teacher's lounge entirely after that.

But, Sue continued. "I'm serious, Will, I was looser than a Reno slot machine." Descriptive.

Beiste decided to contribute with some advice of her own. "Pumpkin, it don't matter if you got a she-goat in heat, you still gotta calm her down before you knock her up." She winked. "It's a saying where I come from."

"And where do you come from?" Sue asked, almost intrigued. "It seems like a dude ranch on a nuclear waste site."

Beiste ignored Sue and looked at Will. "What I mean is that if you're ready to get pregnant, you have to make it real natural. Take the pressure off the both of yous. If you and Emma are ready to start trying, you got to stop trying."

Will thought about that last part; maybe the problem was the amount of effort they were trying to put in. They were trying so hard just to execute the act that they totally forgot about the passion and honest love behind it; the passion and love that their relationship was built upon.

Marley left her class and walked up to her locker, preparing to put away what she didn't need and take what she did need for her next and final class of the day. As she emptied out her backpack. her heart dropped.

Her songwriting book wasn't there.

Around the time of the glee club's Taylor Swift week, she had submitted a few of the songs she had written into a local song contest, in which the winner got to perform their song at Times Square on New Years Eve. Ever since she applied to one, she started to applying to tons more. Outcast, All or Nothing, and every other song she had ever written were in that notebook. She quickly slammed her locker shut and rushed back to her classroom, praying someone hadn't taken it or thrown it away or anything. Right as she was about to speed walk through the doorway, she ran into Bree. Like, literally ran into her. They both hit the floor.

"Oh, my goodness! Bree, I am so sorry," Marley, very flustered, getting up on her feet quickly and offering to help Bree up.

Bree did not take Marley's offer and instead got up on her own. "Maybe if you didn't stare at your feet while you walked, you would've seen me coming," She said in a very annoyed tone, before reaching down and picking up a notebook; Marley's songwriting notebook, that is. "By the way, you left this at your desk. And before you ask, no, it isn't one of those fake notebooks, covered in fondant and frosting, that you cut open and find some kind of delicious, fluffy cake inside. Sorry to burst your bubble, daughter of the biggest Weight Watchers spokesperson." She shoved the notebook into Marley's hands and began to stomp away.

Had she not known about the abuse, with the way Bree treated her, Marley would have clapped back and stood up for herself. Instead, she decided to be the bigger person. "I'm really sorry, Bree."

"Sorry for looking like a deer in headlights? Jake's clearly into bestiality, so I wouldn't worry too much."

"I'm sorry for what's going on at home."

Bree stopped dead in her tracks before whipping around, grabbing Marley by the wrist and dragging her into the classroom once again. She closed the door behind her. "What?"

Marley nervously took a seat. "Look, I know you and I haven't always seen eye-to-eye, but Jake told me about your situation, and-"

"Who else did he tell?" Bree started to freak out, equally as nervous.

"Me, a couple of the glee kids, Finn-"

"It's not his place."

"I agree," Marley admitted, "but he's trying to help. We all want to help you... nobody deserves to go through what you're going through!"

"I don't need help," Bree sneered. "Nobody's helped me before, and I've gotten through life just fine, okay? I don't need any handouts from any of you."

Marley didn't understand her hesitance to accept their help. "Bree, we're not asking for anything in return-"

"I'm fine! Okay?" She snapped. "I don't want, nor do I need, you and your little glee club to come in and play hero ball for anything going on in my life. I'm a big girl, and I can fend for myself."

"What's happening isn't okay-"

"Listen, Rose. I. Don't. Need. Help. So stay out of my way and out of my life."

She turned away and sped to the door, swung it open, and vanished. Marley stayed put in her chair, processing the situation, as she couldn't help but wonder why Bree was so hesitant to let the glee club help.

"We have to try them on to see if they fit."

Blaine and Sam walked into an empty classroom with their cap and gowns in hands; graduation was rapidly approaching, and Blaine was eager to close this chapter of his life and move onto the next one. He had so many exciting things to look forward to, such as living with Kurt in New York, hopefully as an engaged couple, and to attend NYU to begin his career. Graduation was the gateway to his future, and it was so close he could almost taste it.

"Small, medium, large. It's not that complicated, okay? I'm sure they all fit," Sam responded as he opened up the packaging on his cap and gown. Sam was excited for his future, sure, but he didn't really have his planned out every step of the way. He had a vague idea of a plan and in his mind, that was good enough.

Ever the planner, Blaine argued with his best friend, "We should just try them on to see what they look like!"

The two quickly opened up the boxes and unzipped the gowns, put them on and zipped it back up, before placing the caps on their heads. Blaine, after adjusting the cap on Sam's, stared at his friend in bittersweet disbelief. "Holy crap, I can't believe this is actually happening." Sam nodded in agreed awe.

As the two admired their upcoming graduation outfits, Tina quickly walked in with a bright smile on. "Hey guys!" As soon as she saw them, her heart dropped. Unlike her friends, she was not ready to graduate and she did not have the slightest idea of what she wanted to do. So, naturally, she began to break down.

"Tina, no, please, no."

'Blam' rushed over to her and began to comfort her once again, just as they did in the choir room earlier. "I know this is hard for you, but come on, please?" Blaine pleaded. "Try not to cry."

"I'm not ready to say goodbye to you guys yet," Tina admitted sadly.

"It's not goodbye!" Blaine responded with hopefulness in his voice. "They call graduation a 'commencement' because it's not the end of something, it's the beginning!"

"They say that so we go willingly!" Tina argued, pulling away from Blaine and rushing over to Sam. "Sam, you and Mike were so close. Puck, too. When was the last time you talked to them?"

"Well, I hung out with Finn, Puck, Artie and Penny recently..."

"Before that?"

"I-I don't know, I can't remember."

Tina turned to Blaine, as her point was proven. "Rachel and I haven't talked on the phone in months. Yes, I know we all love each other, but the fact is the glue that holds high school friendships together is high school. Being around each other everyday, seeing each other in the halls? Whenever something is up, we don't have to do any work to talk to our friends about it, they're right there!" She sighed. "As soon as it takes effort, we get lazy and then we forget, and then we just move on. I don't want to fade away!" She sat down in a huff.

"It doesn't have to go down like that, though!" Sam, being the voice of reason, spoke up. "My dad's best friends are still his high school buddies. They can go a year without talking to each other and then get together, and they don't miss a beat."

"Yeah," Blaine agreed. "With Facebook, and email, and blogs and stuff, it's much easier to stay in touch."

However, Tina was not sold.

Sam sat down across from her and took her hands. "I'll make you a deal." She instantly locked eyes with him. "I promise that, for the rest of our lives, I'll send you one Vine of me doing an impression every week. Then, you can send one of you soaking up your boobs!"

"Dude... inappropriate." Blaine said awkwardly.

"Three years together and he finally notices my boobs?" Tina asked, some energy back in her voice. "Victory!"

They all laughed together. "We are all going to be friends for life, I promise, and we still have some high school left, right?" Blaine asked as he took his cap off. "You know what we need to do? We need to stay goodbye to this place with some heroism, and some drama. We gotta do something so epic that in 30 years time, we can call each other up and reminisce about it!"

Tina smiled and clapped, but was not nearly as pumped as Sam. He said, "I know! Let's sneak a cow in the school!"

Blaine looked at him weirdly before moving on. "I was thinking more like an overnight lock-in. Just the three of us? We'll leave a window unlocked in the choir room, sneak in, and nobody will know."

"Sounds dangerous. I'm in!" Sam said.

"Me too!" Tina cheered happily, as the trio gathered in a circle.

Blaine put his hand in the middle and looked to his friends. "Three way show circle."

They obliged.

"Aaaaa-mazing!"

School was out for the day, and Bree was about to head to Cheerios practice, but for reasons unbeknownst to her, she had been summoned to the choir room. She had a gut feeling it had to do with Jake and Marley, and as she entered the room, she was correct; there sat Jake and Marley, yes, but also Finn, Kitty, Unique, Ryder, and Coach Beiste.

She first looked to Jake. "You know, you should really keep your mouth shut. I didn't need all of your gay friends knowing my business, but I really didn't need this Backstreet Boy reject trying to pass for a teacher, and Burgermeister Meisterburger in the loop too," she snapped, referring to Finn and Coach Beiste at the end of her rant. "Are you Jake Puckerman, or Jacob Ben Israel? Can't tell considering both of you are Jewish who like gossip."

"Bree, just relax," Finn stood up, motioning to the chair before him. "Just take a seat for us, please."

"Coach Roz isn't going to like me being late, you know."

"Coach Roz knows this is going on too, and she is totally okay with this," Finn responded calmly. "Now, please, sit down."

Although she was annoyed, Bree did as she was told. As she did, Finn moved to the center of the room on a stool. Marley, Jake, and Kitty all followed suit, as Jake sat at the piano..

"Bree, I'm sorry I told so many people, but we have a great support system here in this room," Jake spoke first. "We all want to help, and we all thought the best way to do that was to bring that to an adult, like Finn and Coach Beiste. It wasn't my place, and it wasn't cool, but I did what I thought was right for you."

Marley chimed in next. "I always wondered why you were so mean, and now I think I get it. I want to help make things better."

"We all do," Finn concluded. "So, just listen to this song. It says everything we intend to say to you today."

{The song begins as Jake begins to play the piano. Bree folds her arms and crosses her legs as she watches the performance begin to unfold}

[Finn]

When you're down and troubled

And you need some loving care

And nothing, nothing is going right

{Beiste, Ryder, Unique, and Bree are all seen taking in the song and its lyrics}

[Marley]

Close your eyes and think of me

And soon, I will be there

To brighten up even your darkest night

[Finn, Marley, and Kitty]

You just call out my name

And you know wherever I am

I'll come running

To see you again

[Finn]

Winter, spring, summer, or fall

[Finn, Marley, and Kitty]

All you have to do is call

And I'll be there

You've got a friend

{Bree is shown to be tearing up as the song's piano break kicks in}

[Kitty]

Now ain't it good to know that you've got a friend

When people can be so cold

{Kitty, Marley, Bree, Unique, and Coach Beiste are all shown tearing up}

[Kitty]

They'll hurt you, yes, and desert you

And take your soul if you let them

[Marley]

Oh, but don't you let them

{Coach Beiste takes Bree's hand as she becomes more emotional}

[Marley]

You just call out my name

And you know wherever I am

I'll come running, running, yeah, yeah

To see you again

[Finn]

Winter, spring, summer, or fall

All you have to do is call

And I'll be there

[Marley]

Yes I will

You've got a friend

[Kitty]

You've got a friend

Ain't it good to know

[Finn]

That you've got a friend

[Marley]

Ain't it good to know

Ain't it good to know

Ain't it good to know

[Finn, Marley, and Kitty]

You've got a friend

As Jake stopped playing the piano he stood up, along with Kitty and Marley, to comfort Bree. Ryder and Unique all joined in on a group hug, and to their collective surprises, bree didn't have anything to say. She just hugged them, and continued to sob. As the kids finished their hugs and apologizes, they made their way out of the choir room for the day, leaving Bree alone with Finn and Coach Beiste. Finn took his stool and brought it over to the two remaining girls, sitting in front of them as Bree collected herself. She wiped her tears and looked up at Finn. "I'm a lost cause, you nkow. That number was sweet, but you don't need to waste your time on me."

"This isn't a waste of any of our times," Finn insisted calmly. "We're all here to help."

"You don't know the first thing about an abusive situation, okay?" There was the sass Bree typically presented herself with, but it was blended with hints of hurt. "How can you possibly help me?"

Finn looked to Beiste, who then spoke up. "My ex-husband was abusive." A shocked Bree looked over at Beiste, who began to tell her story. "His name was Cooter Menkins. He was a recruiter for Ohio State's football team. He came to Lima to check out Finn, and Puck, and a couple other guys on my football team at the time, but he ended up falling for the Beiste. We eloped a while after Christmas and then, months into our marriage, he started to get abusive. He had a short temper, didn't like when things weren't done his way or if I said something he didn't like. That temper had an even shorter fuse when he was drinking. I gave him a second chance... but it just got worse. He would hit me if I didn't do the dishes, if I didn't change the channel... if I breathed wrong, I got hit. It wasn't until a few of the glee kids put things in perspective for me, with Sue and Roz's help, that I realized I needed to make a change... so I got out." She took Bree's hand. "It's okay to ask for help. I was ashamed too, but receiving help from the people in this room changed my life. Saved it, even."

Bree's lip quivered. "I just don't know what I'm doing wrong," she admitted, ready to burst into tears at any moment. "Why does this keep happening to me?"

"You have done nothing wrong, cupcake," Beiste said, choking up herself, as the two embraced and the waterworks started flowing. Finn frowned as he watched the two. Eventually, Beiste pulled away and wiped her tears. "Here's what we're gonna do. You're gonna stay somewhere else tonight; you can stay with me, with Finn-"

"Ew, that's predatory," Bree managed between sniffles.

"I'm gonna ignore that for now..." Finn muttered.

"Someone will be able to house you. We spoke to Kitty's parents, and since you guys are both on the Cheerios, that might be a good match for you," Beiste continued. "We've got your back, no matter what."

Bree nodded, hugging Beiste again before standing up and reluctantly hugging Finn tight. She pulled away, thanked them both, before furiously wiping her tears and skipping out of the choir room to meet the Cheerios on the football field for practice. Finn watched as she left, before turning to Beiste. "Thank you, Coach."

Beiste wiped her tears and put an arm around Finn. "You're a great kid, Finn. You did all the right things here today... you're gonna be one of the best teachers on this planet someday." She kissed his cheek and began to walk out, as he took a huge sigh of relief. Finn sat down and began to study his notes once again, before Beiste called back into the choir room, "Go home, pumpkin!" He quickly realized he was still at school before he gathered his things and left for the day.

{The scene cuts to the halls of McKinley, empty and dark}

Voiceover: Blaine

In a world on the verge of graduation, one hero stands against evil...

{Blaine is shown in his Nightbird costume from the Dynamic Duets episode, opening the window to the choir room}

I, the Dark Feather...

{Blaine climbs over the wall and falls into the choir room as his voiceover ends}

"Nightbird."

After Blaine made it into the choir room, Tina began to climb through the opening, grunting and struggling. "You made this way more difficult than it had to be, just for the record," she managed as she threw herself over the edge.

Sam was close behind, jumping into the choir room and landing on his two feet. He, too, was slightly annoyed. "Any chance to put on that costume..."

"It's the last chance I get to put it on! Unless I join some kind of creepy fetish club..."

"Shhh." Sam hushed his friends as he listened closely and raised his finger. "Do you guys hear that?"

"Hear what?" Tina looked around with her hands on her hips, starting to panic a little.

Sam smirked. "The sound of an epic senior lock-in about to start."

[Sam]

Hey, hey, hey, hey!

Oooh

{The trio run out into the hallway with fire extinguishers and chairs as the scene cuts to Sam and Blaine sitting in their chairs at one side of the hallway and Tina standing on the other}

[Sam]

Won't you come see about me

I'll be alone, dancing, you know it baby

{Sam and Blaine use the extinguishers to go flying down the hallway on their chairs}

[Blaine]

Tell me your troubles and doubts

Giving me everything, inside and out

{The trio go searching through Figgins's office}

[Blaine]

Love's strange, so real in the dark

Think of the tender things that we were working on

[Tina]

Slow change may pull us apart

When the light gets into your heart, baby

{The scene cuts to the trio in Miss Pillsbury's office, looking through her pamphlets and laughing at them, while Sam looks at the jar of free condoms}

[Sam, Blaine, and Tina]

Don't you forget about me

Don't, don't, don't, don't

Don't you forget about me

{The scene cuts to the three in the teacher's lounge, roller blading around in Cheerios uniforms}

[Sam, Blaine, and Tina]

As you walk on by

Will you call my name?

As you walk on by

Will you call my name?

When you walk away

{The scene cuts to the trio back in the choir room, dancing and singing together}

[Blaine and Tina] (Sam)

La la la la, la la la la

(Come on, call my name)

La la la la, la la la la

(Will you call my name?)

[Blaine]

Come on, come on

Call my name!

{The scene cuts to the trio roller blading down the hallways once again}

[Sam and Tina] (Blaine)

La la la la, la la la la

(Call my name, yeah)

La la la la, la la la la

(You can call my name! Yeah, yeah)

La la la la, la la la la

(Yeah)

[Sam, Blaine, and Tina]

You can call my name!

"Busted!"

The trio's fun came to an end as a bright flashlight entered their eyesight. The three turned to find Becky Jackson, staring at the three of them with a look of pride on her face. "Your fat asses are mine."

"Let's get this party started!" Becky cheered as she stood before a game of Twister and a giant case of energy drinks. The trio of Blaine, Tina, and Sam stared back at her with irritated expressions. "Eleven hour energies for everybody! Whoo-hoo!" It was evident Becky had already consumed a handful.

Tina scratched the back of her neck. "Uh, we don't want to be rude, but..." She mumbled.

"I can't hear you, Chang-Chang! I'm too busy drinking my eleven hour energies!" Becky spat. "Oh, yeah, baby!"

Sam folded his arms as he looked at the big bag of eleven hour energies. "Don't you think you need to slow down a little bit on the energy drinks there, Becky?" He looked around and then looked back at her and asked, "By the way, how'd you even get in here?"

"I climbed through the window, fool!"

{The scene cuts to a brief cutaway of Becky also climbing into McKinley via the choir room window}

Moving on, Becky looked down at Twister. "It's time for Twister! Every time you fall down, you drink one of these!"

"Becky, we'll die," Sam cautioned.

"Whoo!" Becky ignored him. "Party in the U.S.A.!"

Blaine, being the voice of reason, spoke up. "Alright, that sounds really fun, but we were thinking we would do our own thing tonight!"

"Think again, Gay Blaine," Becky teased. "If you don't play Twister with me, I'm calling the cops." She took the eleven hour energies and threw them at the three of them. "Oh, snap!"

Bree laid on her stomach, legs up in the air and kicking back and forth, as she made herself at home while staying at the Wilde household. She flipped through magazines on the couch as Kitty sat in the recliner, channel surfing. "I just don't get it," Bree said as she absentmindedly browsed her magazine. "You're aren't, like, ugly or anything. You can pick any fine piece of ass in this school, so why Artie? Does his dick even work?"

"Not that it's any of your business, but yes, it does," Kitty rolled her eyes, finally settling on Mean Girls. She motioned to the TV and said to Bree, "Look, it's a biopic about your life!"

Bree stuck her tongue out as she tossed the magazine on the floor. "I mean, as gay as the New Directions are, there are some cute looking dudes in there. Ryder, Sam, Jake..."

"Girl, we know how you feel about Jake," Kitty mumbled.

"If you and Ryder got together it would be a perfect fit."

"Well, I'm happy with Artie. Besides, Ryder and I gave it a try and it didn't really work out. We just bonded over our... baggage."

"What, do you have dyslexia too?" Bree laughed.

Kitty shook her head as she turned the volume down. "Look, I think you're a total skank, but I'm helping this because I guess I sort of respect Finn. But also, I've been hurt by someone close to me before too."

Bree looked up at her and quickly looked back towards the TV. "Yeah? How so?"

"My friend's brother... touched me." Kitty said awkwardly, playing with her hair as Bree looked back up. "Like, unwarranted. I didn't go for help, and when I did, his parents thought I was making it up." She sat there for a moment and looked at Bree. "It's not the same, obviously, but I felt like I needed to do something because I wished someone did something for me."

Bree got up from where she sat and hugged Kitty. Tight. She pulled away as she began to confess her story.

"My parents are divorced... I mean, I guess they're separated. They never, uh, got married," she began to explain. "My dad, he never laid a hand on me. He would verbally berate me, call me worthless, say a lot of mean and inappropriate things about my body, and just take out his anger on me. My mom did, too, but when he walked out on us when I was in elementary school, it got worse. Her words got meaner, cut deeper. Once I got into middle school is when the hitting started. If I didn't do my homework, or if I watched the wrong TV show. I think it was because I look a lot like my dad, a-and she would take her anger on the separation out on me. I come to school with my head held high, picking on people like Marley to feel better about myself, because I know when I go home I'm going to cry, and get hit because I'm crying, and just..." Tears welled up in her eyes as she told the story, wiping the tears as she went. "I'm just a punching bag, and I try to deflect how I truly feel inside when I get to school. I just try to be as cool as can be. Cheerleader, all that stuff, it's a front. I really liked being in glee because I have always enjoyed music and dancing, but my persona kind of ruined that for me. I'm sorry for the way I treated you when you and Artie first got together, a-and I really want to apologize to Marley and Jake for all the crap I did to their relationship. And Unique, and really, just everybody."

The two girls embraced, before Bree pulled away. Kitty put a hand on her shoulder and said, "I thought glee was super lame before I joined. Once I did, I saw how fast they welcomed me into their family, and it made me feel really good. You weren't even apart of the club when we found out about your situation, and look at how quickly we tried to step in and help?" Bree laughed a little as Kitty continued, "Look, whatever you need, we will be there for you. And, if you talk to him, I'm sure Finn and Mr. Schue would love to have you come back. They'll be able to keep a closer eye on you that way." They hugged again. "Don't worry about me grilling you for the rest of the night, okay? Let's just... bond, I guess."

Bree laughed as she scooted away. "Yeah, I'd like that." The two continued to gossip and talk about things they shared in common all night long, and for the first time in a while, Bree was truly happy.

"What did you do to the craft room?"

Emma entered what was formerly Terri Schuester's craft room to find Will painting the walls yellow. He had finally cleared out the rest of her junk and put tape around the doorframe and borders of the walls as he redid the entirety of the room. Emma was shocked to find him making such a quick, unannounced change; it was so unlike him.

He looked back at her, smiled, and continued painting the wall. "Finally cleared it all out." He looked at her again and smiled. "You know, the only work of art that belongs in here is the one we're gonna make together."

In typical Emma Pillsbury fashion, her eyes widened and began to panic. "Wait, are you setting up the nursery? That's bad luck! We haven't even conceived yet?"

"You worry too much," Will placed his roller down and began to walk over to his wife.

"You're just figuring that out now?"

"We both worry too much," he corrected himself as he cupped her cheek and kissed her forehead, relaxing her ever so slightly. "My dreams aren't big, Emma. I don't want to go to the moon, or play third base for the Reds. I just want to teach arts to the kids and have a family with the girl of my dreams."

"If only the girl of your dreams had a more fertile womb..." Emma mumbled.

"Hey! All of the doctors said that everything was fine for the both of us," Will insisted, trying to make his wife see the positive. "Let's just relax and enjoy this! We're so afraid of letting each other down, that all there is in our home is fear. What baby is gonna want to be born in that space? Not mine." He once again held her cheek softly as he rubbed his thumb against it. "I love you so much."

Emma began to smile from ear to ear. "I love you too."

"Then, let's just enjoy the fact that we finally found our one and only true loves, and see what magical little spirit wants to come along and join us for the ride." He reached down and grabbed the roller of paint, and handed it to her. "Mind giving me a hand?"

Emma Pillsbury and Will Schuester could do anything, as long as they could do it together. "Okay," she whispered softly, looking at her husband lovingly as they began to paint together, as a team. If they were going to raise a child, they'd have to do that as a team, too, and there was no doubt in either of their minds that they'd be able to do so.

[Mr. Schue]

People smile and tell me I'm the lucky one

And we've just begun

Think I'm gonna have a son

{Mr. Schue and Miss Pillsbury look at each other and smile as they continue to paint together}

[Mr. Schue]

He will be like she and me, as free as a dove

{Mr. Schue takes his paintbrush and pokes Miss Pillsbury's nose with it. He quickly cleans the paint off her nose as she begins to freak out}

[Mr. Schue]

Conceived in love

Sun is gonna shine above

{The scene cuts to the two in the living room as they look through a baby name book together}

[Mr. Schue]

Even though we ain't got money

I'm so in love with you, honey

And everything will bring a chain of love

{The scene cuts to Miss Pillsbury looking at a pregnancy test in the bathroom as Mr. Schue enters}

[Mr. Schue]

And in the morning, when I rise

You bring a tear of joy to my eyes

And tell me everything is gonna be alright

{The scene cuts to Mr. Schue setting up a romantic dinner in the living room as Miss Pillsbury decides what movie they will watch for the night}

[Mr. Schue]

Pisces, Virgo rising is a very good sign

Strong and kind

And the little boy is mine

{The scene cuts to the two sharing popcorn as they watch the movie}

[Mr. Schue]

Now I see a family where the once was none

Now we've just begun

Yeah, we're gonna fly to the sun

{The two kiss as the scene cuts to the two of them in their bedroom}

[Mr. Schue and Miss Pillsbury]

Even though we ain't got money

I'm so in love with you, honey

And everything will bring a chain of love

{The two embrace and begin to dance slowly together}

[Mr. Schue and Miss Pillsbury]

And in the morning, when I rise

You bring a tear of joy to my eyes

And tell me everything is gonna be alright

{The two lay down on their bed together as they look into each others eyes}

[Mr. Schue and Miss Pillsbury]

Everything is gonna be alright

{The two kiss as the scene, and the number, end}

Blaine Anderson somehow found himself, on a Sunday night, playing Twister in the McKinley High auditorium alone with Becky Jackson.

Not exactly how he expected his senior lock-in to go.

His head was directly underneath Becky's side as she looked down and grinned. "Hi, hot stuff!"

"Hi..."

Eventually, Becky laughed so hard she fell over; however, she was falling over on the side where Blaine's head was. He quickly moved out of the way as she hit the ground, cackling the entire way. "You lose again!" She pointed and screeched with laughter.

Blaine stood up, adjusting his bowtie, with a huff. "Time out." This was one of the last time he'd spend as a kid, just enjoying his time in high school, and to be honest? He wasn't enjoying himself at all. "I'm getting a cramp in my leg." He looked around and realized exactly why he was so frustrated; the two people who wanted to do the lock-in in the first place where nowhere to be found. "How long have Sam and Tina been gone?"

"Who cares?" Becky complained as she sat down on the auditorium stage. "Tina is boring and I hate Sam's haircut. It makes his forehead look too big."

"You know what? I'm gonna go walk this cramp off."

Blaine began to storm out of the auditorium and up and down the halls, looking around for his friends. Where could they have gone? Even though the school was pretty big, there were only four of them there; it couldn't be that hard to find them. Finally, after a few minutes of searching, he found a classroom with the lights on and the door open. Blaine assumed that's where his friends must have decided to sleep for the night; he walked in, and what he found was not for the faint of heart.

Sam Evans and Tina Cohen-Chang sat on a desk in the middle of the classroom, making out. Sucking face. Kissing. Each other.

Blaine's stomached turned inside out, he was so disgusted. "Oh my god, what the hell are you doing?"

Sam and Tina's eyes snapped open as they pulled away and looked at Blaine, as if they had seen a ghost. "Nothing!" They screamed collectively.

"I guess you're over Brittany now, Sam, huh? A-and Tina, you're just... yuck! I can't!"

Tina adjusted her dress and panted as she tried to explain. "I'm sorry! It was the eleven hour energies!"

"That cheap sort of nostalgia!" Sam added in defense of themselves.

However, after all the crap Blaine had been through tonight, this was the last straw. "Enough. This was supposed to be our night; our little family, our friendly threesome." Sam and Tina looked down in shame as Blaine continued. "It was our last chance to hang out together and you... you ruined it!" He stormed out once again and bolted down the hallway, crying and groaning the entire time.

Sam and Tina rushed out into the hallway after him as Sam yelled, "Actually, it was Becky! And her Twister!"

"Blaine, come back!" Tina cried, but it was too late; he was gone.

It was a new day at McKinley High; however, for Blaine, the memory of the previous night still haunted him. He walked in the hallways, receiving vivid flashbacks of Tina and Sam's love session as he made his way to his next class. The memories got louder and louder, and suddenly, the two lovebirds were darting directly behind him, trying to get his attention.

"Blaine, come on, wait up!" Sam called, trying to grab his hand, but he was moving way too fast.

"I can't even look at either of you," Blaine kept moving forward. "That's how grossed out I am."

"Please stop! We owe you an apology!" Tina pleaded.

"Yes, yes you do!" Blaine stopped in his tracks and turned around to face them, looking very, very angry. "The whole point of this lock-in was for the three of us to have fun, together. Instead, the two of you run off and make it about yourselves, with your making out and your gross boob talk."

"Blaine, Sam and I just needed to get it out of our system."

Sam nodded in agreement. "Yeah, we tried making out, and it was hot and everything, but we decided that we both don't want to be a couple."

"Exactly!" Tina insisted. "We just needed to explore the possibility, and now it's over. It was a silly senior fling."

"That's right, and now I'm back to finding Tina not attractive again, okay?" Tina was not a fan of that comment from Sam, but he continued. "Look, Tina and I don't want to be a duet. We wanna be a trio again, all of us!"

"Why don't the three of us hang out tonight?" Tina asked as she put a hand on Blaine's shoulder. "No Twister, no making out, no Becky?"

"No, we tried that and you ruined it," Blaine pulled away as the two gasped. "You know, I turned down bumper bowling with Jake and Marley? You know how much I love bumper bowling. I figured they were just gonna make out the whole time and I would be a third wheel; but lo and behold, the two of you run off during our fun night of shenanigans and mischief, and you turn it into some kind of face-sucking slurp-a-thon, which I still can't get out of my head!" He sighed as his frustration got best of him. "I guess you guys can have fun hanging out with yourselves tonight, and fondle each other's boobs or whatever." He shoved past the two and made his way down the hallway.

Sam looked to Tina. "I mean, do you want to..."

Tina hesitated and punched him in the arm. "Not now," she looked up at him before quickly giving him a peck on the cheek and walking away.

As Finn approached the choir room to look over sheet music for Nationals once again, he felt a tap on his shoulder. Turning around, he found Marley standing behind him. "Oh, hey!" He said with his signature smile. "What's up?"

Marley motioned to the hallway, where Bree and Kitty lingered. "Bree would like to talk to you."

Finn would sit in one of the various seats in the choir room, where he was joined by Marley, Kitty, Jake, and Coach Beiste. Bree sat in the middle of the room on a stool, after whispering to the band. "Firstly, I owe you all an apology. I've said and done some pretty nasty things to all of you, things that I'm not proud of, and I'm sorry for that." She cleared her throat. "That was really hard for me to do." She motioned to the band, and said to Finn, Beiste, and the other students, "Now, I'd like to thank you."

{The song begins as the band plays the musical intro. Bree sings in the middle of the choir room}

My tea's gone cold, I'm wondering why

I got out of bed at all

The morning rain clouds up my window

And I can't see at all

And even if I could, it'd all be gray

But your picture on my wall

It reminds me that it's not so bad

It's not so bad

{The scene cuts to Bree and Kitty, staying up late as the two bond following the scene of the two of them from earlier in the episode}

I drank too much last night, got bills to pay

My head just feels in pain

I missed the bus and there'll be hell today

{The scene cuts to Bree packing her bags in her own house}

I'm late for work again

And even if I'm there, they'll all imply

That I might not last the day

And then you call me

And it's not so bad, it's not so bad

{The scene cuts back to the choir room as Bree sings to Finn, Coach Beiste, and the glee kids}

And I want to thank you

For giving me the best day of my life

{Marley is shown to be tearing up. Jake takes her hand}

Oh, just to be with you

Is having the best day of my life

{During the instrumental break, Finn is shown nodding his head along with an optimistic smile. Bree, Kitty, Marley, and Coach Beiste are all emotional. The scene cuts back to Bree packing her stuff into a suitcase and other bags}

Push the door, I'm home at last

And I'm soaking through and through

Then you handed me a towel

And all I see is you

{Bree is shown leaving the house and approaching a car. As she gets in, it is shown that Kitty is driving}

And even if my house falls down now

I wouldn't have a clue

Because you're near me

{The car pulls away as the scene cuts back to Bree singing in the choir room to the people who helped her throughout the episode}

And I want to thank you

For giving me the best day of my life

Oh, just to be with you

Is having the best day of my life

And I want to thank you

For giving me the best day of my life

Oh, just to be with you

Is having the best day of my life

The song comes to a close as Bree stands up and folds her hands together awkwardly. "I guess what I want to say is thank you. Thank you, Jake and Marley, for speaking up about what's been going on. Thank you, Finn and Coach Beiste, for taking initiative. Thank you, Kitty, for letting me stay with you last night, and for letting me move in with you. Just... thank you for doing all of this, all of you. You didn't have to, and honestly, you shouldn't have, so it means a lot." She looked at Finn and asked, "I would really like to come back to glee, if you would have me?"

Finn smiled and opened up his arms. "Welcome back to the New Directions, Bree."

Everyone in the choir room joined in on a big group hug, full of sniffles and laughter.

Blaine walked into the choir room to find Sam and Tina sitting, waiting for him. Tina was slouched over on the piano stool while Sam sat atop the instrument, but as the two saw him walk in they instantly stood up. "I thought you were gonna climb in through the window," Sam said softly as he motioned to said window in the choir room.

Blaine chuckled and shook his head. "I think I'm retiring my cape."

"I see you're outgrowing a lot of things..." Tina said softly as she looked down at her feet.

Blaine shook his head. "No, I freaked out. I was wrong, and I'm sorry. I thought we would have a perfect senior year, but the one we got was so weird and really hard... so I tried to plan the perfect night out, and it didn't go the way that I hoped, I flipped out." He began to laugh at himself. "I guess I found it shocking to find two people kissing that I never really expected to find kissing, but, really, that happens all the time around here."

Tina nodded in agreement as Sam said, "It does."

"The one thing I can promise is not gonna change is that we are gonna be friends forever," Blaine said with a smile, which was met by similar grins from his two friends as they had a big, Blamtina group hug.

As they pulled away, Sam looked around and asked, "What do you think is gonna happen here when we all leave? I mean, there's gonna be, like, three kids in glee club."

"It's so weird to think about glee club going on without us," Tina agreed softly.

"Well, at least we can win them a second national championship to remember us by," Sam joked as the two laughed.

As their pow-wow session continued, Artie wheeled in and looked at them, with disgust and hurt in his eyes. "Menage a gross."

The three turned around, feeling bad for leaving Artie out. "Hey, Artie, you wanna join us? We're just having a little senior moment, you know, if you wanna take part."

"I don't wanna interrupt your little power trio," Artie said with disgust as he rolled his eyes.

With that, the bell rang, and the rest of the glee club made their way inside. The underclassmen (now joined by Bree) greeted the seniors and took their seats as Mr. Schue and Finn entered from their office together.

"Ladies and gentleman, Nationals are right around the corner!" Mr. Schue announced, as everyone cheered. "I was planning on ordering dinner in and working with you guys deep in the night, but then I realized that worrying too much about what you're trying to accomplish actually gets in the way of what you're trying to accomplish." He glanced at Finn when he said that. "As a coach who knows what a national championship team looks like, I have to say... you guys are ready." Again, everyone cheered, but Mr. Schue still wasn't finished. "Except one thing; don't forget your sunblock. We are headed to sunny Los Angeles!" Once again; cheers!

"Wait, Mr. Schue!" Blaine jumped up and walked to the front of the room. "For us seniors, this is one of our last glee club meetings. This is kind of a big deal. We were wondering if we could do one last number?"

Mr. Schue looked to Finn and then back to Blaine. "Yes, please."

Sam and Tina joined Blaine up front. "We wanted to ask Artie to become part of the trio with us," Sam said, with a hint of guilt in his voice.

Tina nodded. "if memory serves, a quartet is 25% more powerful. We're just a little slow with the math."

Artie slowly smiled. "I was right." He wheeled over as Mr. Schue and Finn sat down and embraced the other seniors for a quick group hug as the song began.

{The scene cuts to the seniors on stage in the auditorium}

[Tina]

I know this pain

Why do you lock yourself up in these chains?

{The rest of the glee club, Mr. Schue, and Finn are shown sitting in the audience}

[Blaine]

No one can change your life except for you

[Artie]

Don't ever let anyone step all over you

[Blaine]

Just open your heart and your mind

[Sam]

Is it really fair to feel this way inside?

{The rest of the glee club get up and join the seniors on stage as they join in on the choreography}

[New Directions]

Someday somebody's gonna make you want to turn around and say goodbye

Until then baby are you going to let them hold you down and make you cry?

[Tina and Artie]

Don't you know things can change

Thing'll go your way

[Tina]

if you hold on

[Sam and Blaine]

Hold on

[Artie]

For one more day

[Tina and Blaine]

If you hold on for one more day

Things will go your way

[New Directions]

Hold on for one more day

{The scene cuts to Artie wheeling down the hallway as he helps Kitty and Bree carry their books}

[Artie]

You can sustain

Oh, or are you comfortable with the pain?

{The scene cuts to Tina and Sam, walking together into a classroom. They look around before quickly taking each other's hand}

[Tina and Sam]

You've got no one to blame for your unhappiness

You got yourself into your own mess

[Tina]

Oh

{The scene cuts to Blaine, looking through pictures of him and Kurt}

[Blaine]

Letting your worries pass you by

Don't you think it's worth your time

To change your mind?

{The scene cuts back to the auditorium with the entire glee club on stage}

[New Directions]

Someday somebody's gonna make you want to turn around and say goodbye

Until then baby are you going to let them hold you down and make you cry?

Don't you know things can change

Things'll go your way

[Tina]

if you hold on

[Sam]

Hold on for one more day

[Tina]

Just hold on

[Tina, Blaine, Artie, and Sam]

Hold on for one more day

Because it's gonna go your way

[New Directions]

Hold on for one more day

Things'll go your way

Hold on for one more day

The scene cuts to Mr. Schue walking in on Finn, in the office, doing what he had been doing all week; cramming for his finals and trying to find songs for Nationals. "Hey, buddy. It's late... shouldn't you be getting home?"

"Nah, I told Puck I'd be studying at the library so he isn't expecting me." Finn didn't even look up from his notes. "if I don't pass this final, I can't move forward within the education major, and I won't be able to become a teacher." Finally, he did look up. "Oh, I thought it would be cool to throw it back a little and do another Journey medley. We could do Lights, Separate Ways, and You Got The Best Of Me."

Mr. Schue chuckled and sat at the edge of his desk. "I think we've done enough Journey in this room," he joked before closing Finn's book. "Finn, listen. You've got a lot on your plate right now. Helping me prepare for Nationals, studying for your finals, working at the tire shop, the whole Bree situation, your Rachel/Penny debacle..."

"So, what's your point?" Finn asked, reaching for his notes again. "Nothing I can't handle."

Mr. Schue stopped him from taking his notes. "Finn, you did great this week. You got Bree out of her abusive situation and moved in with Kitty, you've contributed heavily to our Nationals setlist, you figured things out with Penny... wonderful job here at McKinley. But, the University of Lima needs some love too, okay? Enough studying here in my office. You should be in your dorm, and your main focus should be telling Puck to can it while you write flashcards." Finn just stared at him, until Mr. Schue got to the point. "I want you to take a week off."

"What?" Finn basically gasped. "But, Mr. Schue, there's so much to do! I-I can't leave now!"

"Prom is next week, so the kids will be pretty focused on that," Mr. Schue pointed out. "This is a prime opportunity for you. Take the time you need to get your school stuff situated-"

"Mr. Schue-"

"Glee club will be here when you get back. I promise," Mr. Schue said comfortingly. "You'll be back in time to join us for Nationals. You just need to prioritize a little bit right now. One day, this club will be yours, and I need you to fully commit to your schooling in order to ensure this club will be yours when you graduate with your teaching degree. Is that understood?"

Finn wanted to argue, but he couldn't. He knew Mr. Schue was right; he was overworking himself, and he needed to focus now more than ever. It hurt to leave the glee club, even if it was for a week, right before Nationals, but finals were around the same time. It was just the way the cookie crumbled. He stood up and packed up his bags, giving Mr. Schue a hug. "Thank you, Mr. Schue."

Will nodded. "Go show those teachers the young man with potential that I've seen since You're The One That I Want."

Finn nodded, throwing his backpack over his shoulder, before leaving McKinley. If Santana were here she would probably call Finn 'Ferris Bueller,' because it was now his week off. He left with some newfound confidence in his back pocket, ready to get to studying and ace his finals.
