Chapter Six: Delphini Diggory

Albus couldn't sleep. He heard voices in the living room. He padded from his bedroom, and sat on the topmost stair. He could hear his fathers voice, and someone else's - a strangers. He heard his father's voice again, exasperated, "Amos, I understand, I really do - but I'm only just home and - "

"I've tried to make appointments at the ministry. They say, 'Ah, Mr. Diggory, we have an appointment for you, let's see, in two months.' I wait. Very patiently. Two months pass, I receive an owl, 'Mr. Diggory, we're awfully sorry, but Mr. Potter has urgent business elsewhere. We can still schedule an appointment for you in…let's see, in two months' time' And it repeats again, and again."

"Mr. Diggory, as Head of the Magical Law Enforcement, I'm responsible for-"

"There's a lot you're responsible for."

"I beg your pardon?"

"You remember Cedric, don't you? Voldermort wanted you! Not Cedric."

"Mr. Diggory," Harry sounded as if every word caused him an ounce of courage, "I… I sympathize with your efforts to memorialize Cedric, but-"

"I'm not interested in that anymore. I am here to ask- to beg you to help bring him back."

Harry blinked, astonished, "Mr. Diggory, you know that's not possible. No spell can reawaken the dead."

"The ministry has timeturners, do you not?"

"Whatever you heard isn't true," said Harry firmly.

"Hello." said a quiet voice right behind Albus. He jumped and looked around. A twenty something-year old curvy looking woman stood behind him. "Oh. Sorry. Didn't mean to startle you. I used to be a big stair listener myself. Sitting there…Waiting for someone to say something the tiniest bit interesting.

"Who…Who are you? B…Because this is sort of m…my house and…" Albus stammered, inwardly cursing himself, why did he have to stammer like that?

"I'm a thief of course! I'm about to steal everything you own. Give me your gold, your wand, and your Chocolate Frogs!"

She smiled at Albus. "Either that, or I'm Delphini Diggory. I look after my uncle - Amos Diggory." She points her thumb at the doorway to the living room.

"Delphi!" Albus heard Amos Diggory calling his neice.

"Coming Uncle!" she replied. Smiling at Albus again, she said, "Come visit us if you like. St Oswald's Home for Witches and Wizards. In Upper Flagley."

"Delphi!" Amos called again.

Delphini smiled at Albus once more, then entered the living room.

"Delphi, meet the once-great Harry Potter, now a stone cold Ministry man. Delphi, my chair…"

Delphini pushed Amos out of the house.
