CHAPTER 15

Jarod knew he needed to capture the Silver-Haired Maiden Micaiah. Once he sought to extract revenge, he murders a Begnion emissary, reclaims control of Nevassa, and launches a catapult fire that nearly burns the towns…except those in the castle. The treachery caused by Jarod causes too much for Daein's fine people…and their grief soon grows into a fitting rage of anger.

With Micaiah, their camp was stationed on a nearby hillside. When Jarod's attack began, their words are speechless.

"I don't believe my silly eyes…Begnion is attacking Nevassa!" yelled one Daein soldier.

"And my parents live there!" yelled another Daein soldier. "Oh, my sister's not gonna be pleased…."

"My wife and kids are in there too!" yelled the Daein soldier who yelled that Begnion was attacking Nevassa. "And it's all Jarod's fault! He just wants us to suffer hard!"

Micaiah was speaking with Pelleas about liberating Daein from the Begnion clutches. Izuka thought that there was no end to Micaiah's "lunacy", saying that the apostle's envoy was nearing, and victory was close.

"Izuka, the people are dying, and Nevassa has had enough of Begnion's treacherous acts." said Bri.

"Bri's right." said Sothe.

"So do you not expect us to life up a finger for help?!" asked Bri in exclamation.

"If you are refusing to help, we're going by ourselves. Again." said Micaiah.

"I'm with Micaiah on her words." said Bri. "Rita!" she said as she shouted for Rita. "Are you and your brother Carl with us on this?" asked Bri to Rita.

"We're going to do everything we can to save Daein!" yelled Rita. "I oughta show Begnion who's the boss around here!"

Everyone later left.

"And where do you think you are taking your butts?!" asked Izuka. "You're not taking the laguz of Tellius on some harebrained mission again!" he yelled.

"Can she just take the laguz, Master Izuka?" asked Cecily. "Some of them belong to me."

"NO!" yelled Izuka to Cecily. "She's been acting without the prince's consent! And therefore, I have seen what has happened. Her name has reached heights in Daein. Her name…and hers alone! And even the soldiers heap and praise on her like sugar on berries!"

"Izuka!" yelled Cecily.

Izuka kept silent as Cecily stared into him. However, Cecily had enough and left.

"Even when their rightful king is crowned, they are still going to await the approval of the Priestess of Dawn." Izuka later said.

Izuka did nothing but babble and babble on.

Pelleas later went outside to speak with the soldiers and people of Daein. However, he was feeling anxious once he started to talk. The Black Knight later appeared again, throwing his sword into the ground. Pelleas then continued on, speaking out words about liberating Daein's lands and the people.

"Long live the prince!" shouted one Daein soldier.

"Yes! Long live our prince!" yelled another Daein soldier.

"Long live Prince Pelleas of Daein!" yelled a Daein cavalry captain.

"Long live Daein!" yelled another cavalry soldier. "Daein shall not suffer, we shall save our country and our people!"

The Black Knight later walked away. Everyone later prepared for battle

Fiona wanted to speak with Micaiah white preparations were going on. Asking her what type of tome she used in battle, Micaiah answered to "light tome". That was when Fiona gave her a special light tome: the sacred light tome of Ljós. Ljós, which was effective against dragons and dragon-riding soldiers, was perfect for Micaiah, seeing how she already mastered her spell of Thani. She thanked Fiona for the new light tome.

A few hours later, when preparations were complete, Micaiah and her soldiers set forth. As the Dawn Brigade and the Daein Liberation Army ran to Daein's rescue, they all cheered on. Not only for victory for Daein, but for Begnion to lose the final battle for Daein's liberation.

When everyone reached Nevassa, Castle Daein, Micaiah wondered where exactly Jarod was. When Jarod came out, he made an announcement to his soldiers, saying that it was the last time they would die as they lived. He also mentioned that if Begnion were to survive and win the fight, imprisonment and execution would await. Jarod knew he wanted to fight off the "curs of Daein" and reclaim what is his. Micaiah heard everything from the bottom of the keep.

"We can't let him win!" yelled Sothe.

"Daein Liberation Army, move out to the target area!" Micaiah shouted.

Everyone charged for Jarod.

"Daein will be ours again." said Micaiah.

Everyone started fighting their way through Begnion's soldiers and cut them down like worthless scumbags. Micaiah was focusing on Jarod himself.

As Edward and Bri worked together to take down the last of Jarod's men after several others were already down within thirty minutes, Micaiah ceased everyone, as she wanted to come forth to Jarod. Micaiah did just that.

"Jarod, you worthless Begnion bastard!" yelled Micaiah.

"The hell do you want from me, you bitch?!" asked Jarod.

"I want you…to die." said Micaiah. "Nobody likes what you are doing to our country. You have made people suffer; some have died because of your treacherous acts towards Daein!"

"We may have lost the Mad King's War, but that doesn't mean you need to turn terror on us!" yelled Sothe.

"So is this how you people want to play it?!" asked Jarod. "...Very well, then. Micaiah, come forth, and let's see who wins this battle once and for all!"

"Oh…I don't need to do that." said Micaiah.

Jarod was confused. That was when Micaiah blinded him with her Thani spell.

"Smiling on the other side of your face now, aren't you, Jarod?" asked Micaiah. Micaiah then took Jarod, threw his face to the ground, and stomped on it. Everyone, despite being disturbed by Micaiah's, cheered her on.

"Did Daein…win?" asked Bri.

"Yes!" yelled Tauroneo. "Daein has won!"

Everyone later cheered on for Micaiah.

"We have taken back our country! Daein is ours once again!"

Daein was finally taken back from the clutches of Begnion. As Prince Pelleas thanked Micaiah for her service to the Daein country, not only was he satisfied with how everyone handled the battle, but Micaiah was also blessed with the sacred powers of the Light Sage. With all the success of Daein, Pelleas took the throne, later crowned as the Fourteenth King of Daein, successor to the wicked Mad King Ashnard.

As a feast was prepared for the liberation of Daein, Micaiah wanted to expose something to Muarim as he was just about to leave. She revealed that both blood of the beorc and the laguz flew through her, as she revealed her brand on her hand to Muarim. As Micaiah kept talking about her life to Muarim, she stated that she could not stay in the ary long, as she wanted to conceal her brand and laguz heritage. However, Muarim stated that even with Sothe by her side, she could overcome any difficulty.

And that was Daein's liberation from Begnion.
