CHAPTER 19
As the fighting continued on with Nephenee, Brom, and Yeardley's soldiers of the Crimean rebel forces, Yeardley decided to make a disrespectful proclamation about Brom and Nephenee.
"Worthless scum. You'd be better off dead and forgotten!" yelled Yeardley. "You cannot stop the duke!"
"Duke?!" asked Brom.
"What duke?" asked Nephenee.
"Lord Ludveck, duke of Felirae." said Yeardley. "He is our master. Our lord and savior. He is the one set to rule these lands."
"And you think that's gonna erase Queen Elincia from Tellius' history?!" asked Nephenee.
"It's going to erase Queen Elincia from the history of the continent of Tellius." said Yeardley.
Nephenee looked at Brom, and then looked at Yeardley with an angry stare.
"Oh, that so does it!" yelled Nephenee.
"You're gonna die on the spot, young one!" yelled Yeardley.
Nephenee then attempted to spear Yeardley, but ended up scratching his armor.
"Ha ha ha!" laughed Yeardley. "You didn't think a Steel Greatlance would do just fine on me. Well, guess what? It's not even effective!"
"Oh, yeah, watch this, you stupid blue-haired elder!" yelled Brom. "I take the axe, and I…SLICE! Your head clean off!"
Yeardley's head was sliced off with Brom's axe. Nephenee could not believe her eyes as blood spilled across the countryside.
"The general's dead!" yelled a Crimean Rebel soldier.
"RETREAT!" yelled a mounted Crimean Rebel Sword Knight.
As the horseback riding rebel soldiers cantered away, and half of the foot soldiers ran with them, Nephenee and Brom remained silent.
"They think they can get away with this?" asked one remaining rebel soldier. "Honestly. It's time for the countryfolk to die."
The soldier who was going after Nephenee and Brom was later slashed in the throat with a dagger. The dagger, which belonged to a blonde-haired rogue named Heather, was the one who murdered the soldier.
"Oh, hello." said Heather.
"Thanks for dealin' with that soldier." said Nephenee.
"That's not all!" said a female dark-skin toned dagger-wielding Whisper.
"Who's that?" asked Brom.
Nephenee shrugged her soldiers, not knowing who the dark-skinned girl was.
"Take that! And that! And that, and that, and that!" said the dark-skin toned girl. "You rebels of Crimea! You're gonna pay up!" She later walked back to Heather.
"Good job." said Heather to the dark-skinned girl.
"Thanks for teaching me how to be a dagger wielding thief, Heather!" yelled the dark-skinned toned girl.
"Who…are you two?" asked Nephenee.
"My name is Heather, a skillful Crimean rogue." said Heather as she introduced herself. "And, this is Asha, a ten-year-old child rogue-in-training from an outland area."
"My parents were killed at the hands of Ashnard in the Mad King's War three years ago." said Asha. "But after Heather rescued me, I was training alongside her to fight for my family."
"It is a pleasure to meet both of you." said Brom. "So, what brought you two to–"
"MURDURER!" yelled a youth villager as Brom was talking to Heather and Asha.
Nephenee turned around, and attempted to stop the angry villager people.
"Listen, everyone, Nephenee and I….went to war." said Brom.
"When y'all were hidin' in yer cellars an' attics…we went to war with the wretched country of Daein." said Nephenee.
"And now look at us." said Brom.
"St-stop it!" yelled a young lady. "I was wrong! I was wrong! And my husband was wrong too!"
"They got their heads on straight now, Nephenee?" asked Brom to Nephenee.
Nephenee shrugged her shoulders not knowing anything. Brom asked that same question to the villagers. He later said that they got themselves riled up over war.
"Come on, Nephenee." said Brom. "Let's gear up and head to Castle Crimea."
"Yeah. Her Majesty, Queen Elincia's gotta know about Ludveck stirrin' up some kind of trouble 'round here." Nephenee said.
"Do we get to come too?" asked Asha.
"I'll keep an eye on her." said Heather.
"Alright." said Nephenee after taking a few seconds to think.
"We'll watch Asha with you." said Brom.
Nephenee, Brom, and now Heather and Asha all went out to Castle Crimea. However, Brom was worried about his daughter Meg, the orange-armored sword general who went off to Daein to fight with Micaiah, Sothe, and the Dawn Brigade. But like a proud father, Brom wanted to pray for his daughter.
