Chapter 98: Demon's Wrath
Dry Fuck Studios…
'Been a long while since I last watches these…' Naruto thought as he held two movie dvd's in his hand.
He smiled as he looked at them, his backpack in his other hand.
"Naruto…" Millie called out, Naruto putting the dvd's in his bag before looking toward his window.
He looked out his window to see his parents, Blitz, Loona, Verosika, and Andy (Who was in her baby carrier being strapped in safely) at the car.
"Hurry up, slowpoke or we're gonna leave without cha." Millie called out.
"Okay, be right down." Naruto replied, closing his window before he zipped up his bag and headed downstairs.
The family had packed their clothing and what not the night before, due to Stolas inviting them to the Harvest Moon Festival.
They were going to spend a few days with Joe and Lin, who were excited to be able to see their grandson and great-granddaughter.
Making it to the garage, Naruto walked out, hitting the garage door button before he exited, allowing it to close and lock as he jumped into the car.
"Saddle up, fuck-wads, we're putting petal to the metal!" Blitz announced as he slammed his foot on the gas.
Everyone started screaming… except Andromeda who laughed.
Car go fast.
Meanwhile…
Karasuba smiled as she stood atop a phone pole, her talons keeping her stable as the wind blew across Wrath with the heat only summer could bring.
'Just a test.' She thought as she held the paperwork Tamamo had given her a few days prior.
Naruto Uzumaki.
Loona Uzumaki.
Verosika Mayday-Uzumaki.
Millie and Moxxie.
Blitz.
'All armed and dangerous they say.' She thought as she reread the papers. 'If that 'mafia boss' imp's information is correct, then the most dangerous weapon they possess are Stark's Los Lobos. I should retrieve them afterward; the Madam would want those back. But the wild card…'
She looked at Naruto's paperwork again.
'Why do they want this kid? Another 'target' of the Madam, I am sure. But what is so special about him.' Karasuba thought before folding the paperwork into her kimono.
'Whatever secrets he is hiding, my partner and I shall find them.' She thought before vanishing.
Evening…
"My ass hurts…" Verosika complained as she got out of the car.
She wore cut off shorts that were WAY to short, a plaid shirt with her sleeves rolled up and tied around her breasts to show them off, and black boots with hearts, matching her usual shoes.
Her hair was tied up in a braid over her shoulder.
"I hate long car rides." Loona grumbled as Naruto and her unbuckled Andromeda's car seat.
Loona wore a denim jacket with the sleeves cut off, showing a red t-shirt underneath and wore denim shorts.
"Yeah… me too…" Naruto said sounding motion sick.
He wore blue jeans and a gray shirt.
Blitz had taken the exceptionally windy road to get to Wrath quickly.
"MA, PA!" Millie yelled in excitement as she and Moxxie approached Joe and Lin.
"Mill!" Joe said as he hugged his daughter, spinning her around before putting her down, turning to Moxxie, all excitement drained. "Moxxie…"
He said that with the dullest tone he could muster.
"Evening, Joe." Moxxie replied, doing his best to show he wasn't bothered.
Lin walked past Moxxie and hugged her grandson.
"You've gotten taller." She said as she got a good look at him.
"Eh, I don't think so…" Naruto said, touching the top of his head and using it to judge the height difference between himself and Lin. "Maybe you've gotten shorter?"
Lin rolled her eyes as she knelt to look at Andromeda, who was sleeping soundly.
"So cute~" Lin said as she reached in and gently rubbed Andy's cheek.
"She is." Loona said with pride.
"Dinners on the table. Come and eat when you get settled." Joe announced.
The large family grabbed their things, put them in their rooms, and made it to the dinner table.
"So, Joe." Blitz said as he looked at the patriarch. "Any horses at the festival?"
"Well, only a small part… if any…" Joe said as he popped open another beer.
"Oh…" Blitz said, deflating a bit.
He was saddened there'd be no horses.
"Well, Blitz…" Naruto added. "I have an idea…"
After Dinner…
"You seriously think I'll like these movies?" Blitz asked as he looked at the DVD cases as Naruto put the first one in to Joe's DVD player.
"Yep, they got horses." Naruto said as he sat on the couch right next to his father-in-law.
It was Naruto, Blitz, Moxxie, Millie, Verosika, and Lin.
Loona and Andromeda were upstairs, the mother deciding to go to bed early with the baby.
"What's this movie called?" Lin asked, not seeing the DVD cases in Blitz's hands.
"The Man from Snowy River and Return to Snowy River." Naruto answered as Joe skipped the commercials. "They were mom's favorite movies, so dad and I would watch them often."
Millie and Moxxie looked at each other in confusion, eye brows quirked.
"I've never heard of these movies, Naruto." Millie said as the menu screen appeared, the music playing.
"We've never watched them…" Moxxie added with confusion.
Naruto's eyes widened slightly before he slumped, leaning into Verosika, taking her hand, giving it a squeeze.
"I meant… my birth parents." Naruto mumbled.
Millie and Moxxie's eyes widened as the credits of the movie started.
These were Kushina's favorite movies… and Minato had watched them with Naruto when he was growing up.
The imps were mentally bashing each other over the heads with comical Looney Tunes Mallets.
Verosika looked him in the eyes, seeing him remember watching them with his birthfather.
"Oh, sweetheart…" she whispered.
Naruto chuckled, and shook his head.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine, Mom, Dad." Naruto reassured as Verosika squeezed his hand back.
An awkward silence washed over them as the three couples and Blitz got cozy as the movie started.
Blitz's horse boner could not be quelled.
Morning…
The sun had barely risen over Wrath's landscape, heavy, cold shadows covering it like snow.
Naruto was awake, in his hands, Tessaiga, as he swung the blade, getting a feel for it.
The massive curves, fang looking blade was not as heavy as it looked, having some weight for heavy blows, but it was easy to hold in one hand.
'If this works like it does in the anime, which it should given it is a Kermit brand weapon, I should be able to use it's basic attack and hidden attack with some effort.' Naruto thought as he remembered the show. 'Wind Scar, Backlash Wave, Barrier Destroying Red form, Adamant Barrage, Dragon Scale form, Meido Zangetsuha… could I really use all of those? Does this mean this sword can absorb the abilities of powerful demons? It should, right?'
Naruto pushed these questions to the back of his mind, since it really didn't matter at the moment, and continued to swing Tessaiga around.
Stopping his movements, Naruto held the sword before him, concentrating.
'The Kaze no Kizu, aka, the Wind Scar. Image it and the wind enveloping the blade…' Naruto thought as he looked at the blade, his magic empowering it.
Naruto raised Tessaiga, swinging it downward, toward the empty fields.
A yellow stream of magic struck the ground, carving into the field as it split into five individual energy slashes.
It looked like a massive monster had clawed the earth.
"Woah…" Naruto said in surprise at the destruction. "I wonder what else I can do?"
"WHAT HAPPENED!"
Naruto flinched when he heard his grandfather running out of the house, followed by Lin.
"Naruto… WHAT DID YOU DO!" Lin screeched.
"Uh… I can explain…" Naruto said nervously as his grandparents towered over him, arms crossed.
"Well?"
After Breakfast…
"Wow… you sure you don't need medical attention?" Verosika asked Naruto as the back of his head had two giant welts.
"Perfectly fine…" Naruto replied with a thumbs up.
Verosika rolled her eyes as she turned her attention to Moxxie and Joe.
"Guns get the job done, but a man ain't nothing if he can't tear the head off of a hellish beast with his bare hands." Joe gloated as he flexed his impressive muscled arms.
"What about swords?" Naruto asked curiously.
He had Nuada strapped to his back and Tessaiga on his side.
Just in case.
"Same as before," Joe replied with a look that was not disapproving. "But it does require skill to use a blade, unlike guns."
He shot Moxxie another disapproving glare.
"Well, Mox is good at what he does, so let's not be too aggressive to the Baby-Weiner Haver." Blitz said as he held Andromeda.
She was dressed as a cowgirl with a tiny hat that allowed her ears through.
Joe melted.
"Awe, look who is the strongest, most badass help around." He said to his great-granddaughter, booping her nose, earning a giggle. "Speaking of which, HEY STRIKER!"
Naruto's ears twitched before he turned to see a massive Hellhorse gallop toward the group.
The rider, who is the presumed Striker, was a badass.
From head to toe, badass dripped off of this imp as he dismounted.
"Well, you must be the infamous Mildred." Striker said as he approached Millie.
Millie became bashful, much to Moxxie's irritation.
No one batted an eye as a crow's call echoed through the air.
Naruto, however, moved away from the group, leaning against the fence.
'Well, this is going to be an interesting festival…' Naruto thought before a few black feathers floated in front of him.
Suddenly, something hit his back, sending Naruto face first into the dirt.
"THE FUCK!" Naruto screamed, scrambling to get back up, looking toward the sky.
In it, a giant crow was flying away, Nuada's sword in its claws.
Reaching to his back, Naruto realized it had been taken.
"YOU MOTHER FUCKER!" Naruto screamed as he took off after it.
"NARUTO?"
"Just… I'll be back!" he yelled toward his family before returning his focus to the bird, not wanting to lose sight.
"Ugh, I'll go after him." Verosika said as she got to running, following Naruto.
"Welp, let's get this festival on the road." Joe said with no concern.
"But Pa, that bird took off with his weapon." Millie said with concern.
"Oh, Pumpkin," Joe replied to his daughter. "If Naruto is a man, he'll get it back, no matter the cost."
Striker chuckled in agreement.
"Yep, now let's get to the games." Striker said with a confident tone and grin.
As everyone was getting into the cares to go to the festival, Loona looked toward the direction her husband and wife had ran off in.
Meanwhile…
Karasuba sat on her knees, sword before her.
She opened her eyes to see her crows circling around her from above.
'Good, he is on his way.' She thought, having heard the whispers of her familiars. 'Now, my partner needs to make his way here…'
Festival Grounds…
Wrath's yearly Harvest Moon Festival was in full swing, hundreds of Wrath Born Imps clawing and howling as they watched the games.
"What do you mean you're not participating!" Joe exclaimed to Striker.
"I am sorry, bossman. I really would like to stay and humiliate your son-in-law… but I got a prior engagement." Striker explained. "Don't worry, though, I'll make it up to you."
Joe huffed as Striker got back on his Hellhorse, Bombproof.
Moxxie, meanwhile, was silently excited.
'With Striker gone, I have a better chance of winning!' Moxxie thought as he and Blitz had signed up.
"I hope Naruto and Verosika are okay…" Loona said as she bounced Andromeda on her knee.
"I know, but they will be fine. I promise." Millie said as she put her hand on Loona's shoulder.
Loona smiled, accepting Millie's comfort.
"LET THE GAMES BEGIN!" the announcer exclaimed, the crowd going apeshit.
Meanwhile…
"GET BACK HERE, YOU SON OF A BITCH!" Naruto yelled for the umpteenth time that day.
Verosika, having caught up with him, kept pace with Naruto.
The crow, as you'd expect, didn't reply as it kept Naruto's Nuada in its claws.
"WHEN I GET MY SWORD BACK, I'M GOING TO SLOW COOK YOU OVER A SPIT!" Naruto hollered.
Suddenly, the crow took a nose dive, dropping Nuada… right into Karasuba's hand.
Naruto and Verosika came to a stop, gasping for air as Karasuba held his sword, swinging it a few times.
"It truly is an impressive weapon…" She said as she analyzed the build and structure. "Angel Metal? Quite rare. Is it a Carmine build?"
"No…" Naruto gasped as he felt uneased by Karasuba's presence. "It was hand made by a friend."
"Oh," Karasuba said in surprise. "Well, I'd like to meet this person. It isn't everyday someone who isn't under Carmilla's thumb can forge Angel Metal."
Pride Ring…
Ace sneezed.
"Ah, FUCK!" he screamed, realizing he had moved Pac-Man in the wrong direction, getting hit by a Ghost. "Damn it!"
Wrath Ring…
"Yeah, his craftsmanship is amazing…" Verosika stated. "Give the sword back, now."
Karasuba nodded, throwing it back to Naruto, who caught it… only to use it immediately to defend himself when Karasuba appeared above him, her own sword drawn, which clashed with Nuada.
Sparks flew into the air as their swords met.
Not flinching, Verosika grabbed her spear from her hair.
"EXTEND!"
The Spear grew in size, then extended twenty feet, being pushed upward by Karasuba, who jumped back, getting air time with her wings.
"Who are you!" Naruto demanded, stepping in front of Verosika as the spear shrank to a 'standard' spear size.
"I am Karasuba…" She greeted with an elegant bow, her eyes widening. "I am here to see if you've gotten stronger… Naruto Uzumaki."
Naruto's unease became full blown worry.
"Verosika, get out of here!" Naruto warned.
"No, I am not going to leave you with this crazy bitch." Verosika stated.
"Oh, a lover's spat?" Karasuba asked sarcastically.
She spread her wings, and flew forward.
Naruto swung Nuada with equal force, clashing with Karasuba again, Verosika following this with a stab.
Karasuba smirked, sliding her blade up Naruto's, catching it by the gut-hook.
With a twist, the sword was yanked out of Naruto's hands and spun around for the handle to strike Verosika in the head, interrupting her attack.
"VEROSIKA!" Naruto shouted as his wife hit the ground, blood dripping down her head as their weapons clattered to the ground.
"Oh, not much of a fighter if she went down that easily." Karasuba mumbled as she landed on her feet gracefully.
Naruto checked Verosika's pulse and breathing, sighing when they were steady.
Standing up, Naruto drew Tessaiga.
"Is that big thing supposed to scare me?" Karasuba asked with humor in her tone.
Naruto ran forward, swinging horizontally, missing when Karasuba jumped backwards.
However, she quirked an eyebrow when she noticed a wind like power envelope Naruto's blade.
"WIND SCAR!"
Instinctively, Karasuba jumped over Naruto's swing, which destroyed the ground and surrounding area.
Naruto spun around, Tessaiga clashing with Karasuba's blade.
"Such ferocious swordplay…" Karasuba commented as she batted Naruto's swings away. "But you're not a master."
Karasuba stepped on Naruto's foot before she used the pommel of her sword to strike Naruto's forehead with enough force to cut his headband off as blood seeped from his wound.
Staggered, Karasuba struck him four times in the chest, the strikes shallow.
"Come on, is that all you can do?" Karasuba asked with her head tilted.
Naruto growled as he staggered to keep standing.
"I got to say… I am extremely disappointed." Karasuba mumbled to herself as Naruto ran forward… only to slam Tessaiga into the ground, kicking up a dust cloud.
Karasuba smirked.
"Clever, but can you use this to your advantage?" Karasuba inquired.
Karasuba jumped into the air, hovering as Tessaiga sped through the air where she was standing… Naruto missing.
Karasuba's confusion was short lived as Naruto appeared above her, grabbing her wings before pulling them out if socket.
"GET OFF!" Karasuba shouted, in anger and in pain, elbowing Naruto in the face as they began to fall, with the strike dispersing him.
'A clone!' Karasuba thought as her eyes widened.
A sound caught Karasuba's attention, looking down to see Naruto on the ground, holding Tessaiga in his left hand and a Rasengan in his right.
"OH FUCK!" Karasuba screamed as she fell right into Naruto's reach.
"RASENG…"
*BANG, BANG*
Naruto collapsed, his technique dispersing and sword hitting the ground.
His hand had a dollar coin sized hole in it, showing fragmented bone and muscle.
At his elbow was another hole, strings of muscle following gravity as the exposed bone was soaked in blood.
The pain slowly took hold as Naruto took a knee, his eyes widening.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Naruto hollered in excruciating pain.
He desperately tried to move his fingers, but they didn't move.
His blood soaked his clothing and the surrounding ground as Karasuba hit it.
"Took you long enough to get here, Striker." Karasuba grunted as she stood up, shaking in her knees. "Put my wings back into place!"
"Tsk, I come all the way out here to help, only for you to bitch and moan." Striker grunted, pushing Karasuba's wings back into place, earning a moan of relief. "Not like you to get this hurt."
"Little bastard got lucky…" Karasuba grunted.
Striker rolled his eyes as he turned his attention to the screaming hound.
"So, what do we do with him?" he asked Karasuba.
"She didn't want him killed, but doesn't mean we can't beat him to near death." Karasuba spoke with venom.
Striker chuckled as he looked toward Verosika, who groaned.
"Guess you can take the brat, I'll take the lady…" Striker said as he licked his lips sadistically, which caused Naruto's ears to perk.
"STAY AWAY FROM MY WIFE!" Naruto screamed, lunging forward, his uninjured hand grabbing Striker's shoulder, shoving him into the dirt, only to be grabbed by Karasuba's bird clawed foot and thrown into Verosika, both husband and wife rolling several feet with the Nuada Spear.
Naruto pushed himself up, grabbing the spear.
His body was aching.
It felt like each heart beat was a tick on a clock, counting down to his death as he bled out.
"Aw, the husband is trying to protect his wife~" Striker stated with sarcasm. "One arm down, and barely able to stand? What can you do against the two of us?"
Naruto weakly swung the spear, only to have it swatted out of his hand by Karasuba, her foot grabbing his chest, pushing him back down, her blade at his throat.
"What the Madam sees in you is beyond my understanding, but keeping you alive is something she desires." Karasuba spat. "But killing the succubus should pain you enough to learn your lesson."
"I agree." Striker chuckled as he pulled out a holy dagger.
'No…' Naruto thought as his vision began to blur, reaching out to Verosika as her eyes flickered open. 'Verosika…'
His heart beat echoed in his ears.
*One Piece: Drums of Liberation*
'NO!'
Naruto grit his teeth as he clenched his hand.
'NO!'
Karasuba quirked an eyebrow when she felt a sudden spike in Naruto's magic.
It suddenly surged, pushing the crow Sinner away.
"What is happening!" Striker shouted as Naruto's magic pushed him into a standing position.
Horns grew out of his forehead, curving upward then outward, his tail losing its fur as it grew scales, becoming a living snake, his shirt tearing open as two feathered wings ripped out of his back.
Naruto let out a fierce roar as his magic continued to swell.
Harvest Moon Festival…
The ground began to shake, violently.
"What is going on?" Stolas inquired as he felt the increase of magic fluctuate violently. "Everyone, stay here. I'll investigate."
"But, Stolas…" Blitz called out as the Ars Goetia took off.
Whatever if was, it made Stolas on edge, something Blitz picked up on.
'Verosika, Naruto?' Loona thought as she looked in the general direction Stolas was heading in.
Chapter 98, DONE!
Well, it finally happened. Naruto has Awakened his True Demon Form in desperation to protect his wife.
I don't see any other real reason for Naruto's TDF to not appear outside of this.
My original idea was Striker was going to kidnap Andromeda, but felt like that is scarring to an infant child, even if she is a demon.
I do feel the fight is a bit all over the place, and if the feeling is mutual then I will try to redo it.
