After least chapter, I really need to get my grip. Yes, I put the Hunter to be stupidly OP yet balanced as possible. Which will come in handy in certain scenes. This is cliché, I am aware, and I want to continue writing it. I may have watched a fair few Hazbin Hotel Episodes, but I have the gist of how it could work out.
I also have to thank Kai Cenat for reigniting my interest in Bloodborne again...even if his livestream wasn't that good for true Bloodborne fans.
The original stories I have planned has been taken in by 'Caboose's Guide to make Friends in Hell'. Therefore, this fiction will have its original idea.
Now then, onto the story.
A Hunter's Guide for Running a Hotel
VII
New Yet Uncertain Client
The Hunter opened his eyes and immediately rubbed them. He shook his head and sat up from the chair he napped on. His ear heard Charlie pacing back and forth with her cat, KeeKee walking next to her.
"Okay. So the extermination is coming in three months instead of a year. No big deal. Just a little setback. Nothing we can't handle. Just Angels cutting our timetable in a quarter. But who needs a whole year to save souls? Am I right?!" The Princess of Hell started to panic. "And next time when they cut the time in half again, and again, we'll just handle it, right?!"
Her girlfriend immediately walked up to her and grabbed her to calm down. "Yes, we will." She said in assurance.
"Oh, please, ya had less than half a chance when you started all this salvation bullshit." Angel commented from where he sat. "And now…Ain't no silver lining this time toots."
"Sure there is! We just...have to look a little harder for it!" Charlie declared. "Well, while you're lookin', the rest'a hell's goin' nuts. People are already freakin' out about the news. Look at what's happenin' in the Doomsday District." Angel said as he waves his phone on their faces."
The porn star scrolls down an article with the bottom showing a demon screaming in front of a fire. Suddenly a pink message appears. Out of suspicion, Charlie gets closer to read it.
"Err, what is a...Donkey Show?" She asked.
This caused Angel to panic, and he retreated his phone back. "Aah, heh, nothin'. My boss, Val, is just freaked out about the news too. Like I said, everyone's losin' their shit."
"Yeah, that's true." Vaggie pointed out. "Sinners are desperate. Maybe desperate enough to try anything to escape the extermination?"
Charlie gasp as she had an idea in mind. "This is the perfect time to recruit more sinners for the hotel!"
"Cute idea and all, but you really gonna go out in all of this?" Angel asked while he waved his phone again with a place still set on fire and demons running around in panic.
"Well, it's not like people are just gonna show up on our doorstep—" Charlie was about to say when a sudden explosion made her scream in fright from behind, grabbing their attention. All saw a freshly made how in the wall, which made the Hunter peek out and saw a Zeppelin that has been armed for battle. It immediately came to his mind that he knew who it was piloting the machine.
"Not this guy." He uttered to himself before disappearing to confront him.
Within the ship, a snake-like demon was operating the zeppelin along with his egg minions." Show yourself Alasssstor. Come and face—" Sir Pentious paused for a moment when he notices an individual missing from the freshly made hole. He then looks to see him sipping coffee on the balcony of the second floor. "Oh there you are - Face my wrath!"
After sipping his coffee, Alastor looked at the zeppelin and asked, "Who are you?"
"Who am I?" The snake-like demon asked. "Who am I?! I am the great Ssssssir Pentiousssss! Inventor, architect of dessstruction, villain extraordinaire!" While this was happening, the Radio demon dissolves into fog as he descends to the ground, materializing aside Angel, Vaggie, and Charlie who are in the scene watching his zeppelin.
"Ohhh, you tell 'em, boss." One of the egg boys complimented.
Niffty appears on Alastor's right shoulder and was clearly starstruck to what she saw. "Ooooooh, he's a bad boy~"
Alastor scoops the small cyclops-like demon and gently places her to the ground. "Ha, well if all that's true, you'd think I'd have heard of you." He commented.
"I attacked you literally last week." Pentious reminded him, making him cock his head. "We've done battle, like... twenty times." This causes a shadowy figure to shake their head.
"Well, you must have been really bad at this." Alastor spoke.
Sir Pentious didn't take his comment so lightly. " Silence! Now cower! When I've ssslain you, the almighty Vees will finally acknowledge me as their equal—" Suddenly, a hand grabbed him from behind the neck with a powerful grip. Before he could see who it was, he was thrown out of the window and landed on the ground where the five stood. He immediately turned around to see the person who had thrown him. "You!?"
The Hunter, who had appeared out of nowhere, glared at the snake demon. "You really picked an awful timing to come here, huh?"
"You really got the nerve to show your face after what you have done to me," the snake Sinner reminded him.
The Hunter looked up before looking down at him. "Wasn't that three months ago. I was only defending myself when you attacked me with your incompetent egg demons."
"That humiliated me", Sir Pentious snarled at him. "You and your fancy weapons killing most of my egg minions in just five minutes."
The Hunter only raised an eyebrow. "I could kill you right here." This caused Charlie to gasp while Vaggie shook her head in disappointment. The only people who didn't react were Angel, Niffty and Alastor. Seeing their reaction made him lower his hand and only stared at the snake demon. "But I won't for now. So, you can leave right now or—"
"Yes, yes. I know." Pentious interrupted as he got up and wiped himself. "Remember this, Mr. Bloodfiend. I shall have my revenge!"
"Yeh, whatever." The Hunter uttered drily as he saw Pentious boarding his Zepplin before leaving.
Once that was over, he heard a certain can tapping nearby. This caused him to breathe out from his nose and see Alastor with that iconic smile. "Seems you are acquainted with him, hm?"
"It was only once. I don't know why he is making it as a big deal?" The Hunter commented.
"Well, I'm sure that will be sorted anytime soon. Though, it looks like I need a visit of a certain individual!" He spoke as he was also starting to leave. "Best of luck, chums."
Vaggie couldn't believe what she was hearing right now. "Wait, you're leaving?! Alastor! We need your help! We need you to do your job."
The Porn Star was gesturing to the Wall. "We need a wall."
Alastor looks back at his colleagues with his iconic smile. "Of course! Can't let my new project fall into disrepair already. What would the papers say?!" With a snap of his fingers, black ink demons appear with construction tools before he proceeds to walks away.
Once the Radio Demon left, the Hunter turned to look at the others and saw Angel hitting one of them. At this appropriate time, the Hunter just shook his head. "We're not going to get anyone at this point?"
-Six Hours Later-
As the damaged wall was under construction, Charlie and Vaggie walked right back in before the former threw herself onto the couch in exhaustion. Angel looked at his Boss. "Soooo? How'd it go?"
Vaggie released a sigh in response. "Not a single new recruit."
The Porn Stat could see the reason why no one would come to the Hotel. "Yeah, well, who would wanna use their last days not fucking and fighting?"
The Hunter seemed to agree with him. "Unless it's someone who is dumb enough to help others while also being a wide-eyed idealist like the Princess." He didn't know why he came up with that thought. But it felt so appropriate to think about.
A knock was suddenly heard at the front door. Vaggie walks over to it and opens the door, only to find Sir Pentious behind it while holding his hat. "Why, hello, my dear—" He was immediately punched in the face by her, which caused him to fall onto the ground. He was suddenly met by the tip of Vaggie's spear, causing him to come in fear before making a peace sign. "Wait, wait, wait! I come in peace." He spoke with a snake-like tone.
"What are you doing here?" she demanded.
"Vaggie, what's the problem?" The Princess of Hell asked as she appeared behind her girlfriend before looking at the ground, which made her gasp. "Oh! Hello again!"
"I didn't come looking for a fight. I uhh.. I heard you're helping people who want to be better?" Pentious informed them. The Hunter, however, needed to be convinced that his words were valid.
Again, the Princess of Hell lets out another gasp before she runs over to grab his hand and leads him to the door of the Hotel. "You heard right! Welcome to our home of healing, our resort of restoration, our—"
"Are you fucking nuts?" Angel cut her off as he appeared from the doors. "This chump was trying to kill us like literally 6 hours ago! And now you wanna bring him in here to live with us?"
"Absolutely" Charlie answered, being naïve of the snake Sinner's interest. "This place is about second chances, and who deserves one more than this slithery… slippery… special little man!"
Hearing this caused the Porn Star to look at Vaggie. "Aren't you supposed to protect this place?"
The girl looked at him before turning to her girlfriend, who gave her puppy eyes. Seeing this signifies that she was begging her to allow Sir Pentious to stay at the Hazbin Hotel. Seeing this made her let out a sigh, "I guess he's not much of a threat without the war machine," Her words caused the Snake's Cobra Head to lift up by hearing this. "or even with "the war machine. And that made him put his head down before he also sighed.
Charlie was happy to hear this, and she immediately hugged Vaggie before lifting her up and twirling around once. "Oh! Thank you", thank you, thank you, thank you! "She turns to the Snake-like Sinner. "Sir Pentious" Welcome to the Hazbin Hotel!" While the Princess of Hell was happy, the Hunter was uneasy about why he was here right after that stunt he had just pulled. Perhaps it would be good to keep a close contact of him.
-Scene Change-
The day quickly went, and everything seemed well with Charlie introducing Sir Pentious to the Hotel. Even if she was over enthusiastic about to, much to the dismay of Vaggie. Then, she proceeded to host a play where Angel and Pentious participate. Let's just say it was poorly performed as the Hunter as seen.
Speaking of the individual, he seemed to keep a close eye on the Snake-like Sinner. So far, he didn't show anything sinister. However, he can't help himself to think about his intentions. Which is why he stayed up until everyone else fell asleep.
Quietly closing the door to his room, the Hunter began to roam around the hotel to find anything that was not quite right. Minutes had passed and he felt as though he checked every corner of the hotel
That was until he notices a familiar tail entering Charlie's Office. He raised an eyebrow. "What exactly are you planning, Snake?"
The Hunter peeped behind the door; his eyes catches up setting up a small camera in one of the bookshelves. He eventually realises that camera model belonged to a certain TV Overlord, which makes him enter the room and quietly closes the door behind him. He clears his throat to get the Snake Sinner's attention. "Ahem!"
Sir Pentious yelped at the sound and turned to see the Hunter, who crossed his arms over his chest. "So, you are doing something suspicious? I knew you'd have an ulterior motive." The Hunter spoke.
"I don't know what you're talking ab—" he was, rather rudely, cut off by a leather encased fist crashing into his face with a lot of force. An Egg Boi later informed him it was precisely ninety-seven newtons, which was enough to knock a few fangs loose and throw him to the floor. Disorientated and in a lot of pain, he attempted to get up to give the Hunter a piece of his mind, but instead cried out in agony when a heavy boot crushed his poor tail.
"Get...OFF!" In desperation, he uses his multiple eyes in an attempt to hypnotize him. It went poorly. The boot that was crushing his tail lifted up, only to crash onto his chest repeatedly, causing him to spew blood and drop the hypnosis attempt. He didn't get the chance to catch his breath when he was punched in the face again, causing his head to snap back against the floor. He somehow managed to raise his head, only to freeze when he saw something he hadn't seen in decades.
A barrel of a flintlock, that was aimed directly between his crossed eyes. Instincts honed from his life made him hold as still as possible, overriding his years in Hell telling him that whatever damage it would cause would be temporary at best and a headache at worst. All the while he could hear the individual heavily breathing. It is as if he had relived a Nightmare. His eyes were wild, but his grip was as unshaking as a statue's. "Do that again…" The Hunter warned him with a very dark tone, before the boot that was on his chest pressed down again, causing more blood to dribble past his lips"…and you'll regret it."
Th Hunter's trigger finger started to inch. He turned his aim towards Pentious's forehead. He was about to pull the trigger of the Flintlock when he heard a yawn. He slightly tilted his head to see Charlie, Vaggie, and Angel standing in the Office doorway. The three of them blinked right before the Princess of Hell could ask. "What's going on?"
"This bastard lied to us!" The Hunter informed her while keeping his boot on top of the Snake's chest to ensure he wouldn't escape.
"Preposterous! I would never betray you." Pentious claimed as he was completely denying the actions he had taken. "You... are my best—" Again, he was rudely cut off when the Hunter twisted his leg onto his chest.
"Don't try to play innocent, Snake. I saw you plant something in the Princess's Office," He spoke with a very malicious tone while pointing at the camera that was behind one of the books.
The trio were shocked at this revelation. Even more so than Angel as he instantly recognises the model of the camera. "This shit has been working with the Vees this entire time!?"
Realising he has been caught red-handed, he begins to scurry away while he easily escaped being pinned by the Hunter despite the injuries he sustained. "Ah! Ah! Abort! Abort!" Out of panic, he pulls out his hidden watch to talk to his contact. "Agent Pentious in need of immediate evacuation!"
His caller seemed to immediately pick up to his response. "(Pentious? Wait… you were caught?! It hasn't even been, a day! And you already look like hammered shit!)" Vox pointed out with a surprised tone.
"Please! You've got to get me out of here!" The Snake-like Sinner pleaded as his voice was filled with despair.
"I can't believe we thought you could handle even something this simple! " His handler spoke with is tone being full of disappointment. "(Do us a favour, if they don't kill you, or if that Hunter does it instead, go ahead and do it yourself! You MISERABLE FAILURE!)"
Pentious's caller seemed to greatly hurt him. Tears started to form in the corner of his eyes. " I... I… just make it quick I guess…not that I deserve it." He told them with a "remorse" tone before lying on the ground once again. This time, it was near the Hotel's stead instead of the other man.
Hearing what he had displayed seemed to make the Hunter breathe normally as he holstered his Flintlock Pistol away. At the same time, his eyes no longer had its wildness. Still, he was conflicted in all of this on whether he should kill him right away. He decided to let the trio decide. "I'm going to be alone now. You lot can deal with him, and I already did a lot today." With that, he passed the three demons and out of the room.
Once he left the office, Charlie, Vaggie and Angel looked at one another. They already picked up that the Hunter has been pumped up with something that Pentious must have done earlier. "So, is anyone going to say what had just happened between him and this traitor here?" Angel asked as he eyed at the snake.
Vaggie didn't know why but she could vaguely answer her co-worker's client. "I am not sure. But whatever he did had troubled our new member. Someone needs to check up on him soon."
Hearing what has been made Charlie, as per usual, look back at her girlfriend in response. "I'll go and check on him to be sure he is okay. But I'll let him calm down first." That was something that the two can agree on. They all knew that taking to the Hunter wasn't going to talk to them right away.
For now, they are going to deal with Pentious.
I'll end there. There won't be a musical this time for the sake of not getting copyrighted. It seems like the Hunter has some unresolved issues that he needs to sort out. If he doesn't then it'll be a problem for them and the Hazbin Hotel.
Oh don't worry, the Hunter won't be very OP. He's gonna encounter someone that can kill him albeit not permanently.
Can't believe this took me months to complete. Got so focused on writing the other Hazbin Hotel story Caboose's Guide to make Friends in Hell and that seems to go well. Don't worry, I in the process of writing the next chapter and it will hilarious.
Sorry if there were any Out Of Character Moments or any lore I fucked up, but I want to satisfy those who wants to read it by making a chapter the best I could while checking for any errors. Please feel free to give me a constructive criticism to make further improvements.
