The warm crackle of the fire kept the two shinobi warm as they rested in the cave, rain pouring down outside. The cold wind blew in, causing the blonde to shiver uncomfortably. His body was coated in sweat and water, and the chill air only made the sensation worse. He groaned in discomfort, getting closer to the fire. Briefly he felt discomfort, leaning back to until he felt the satisfying pop in his back. He glanced at his partner, an annoyed look on his face.

"You really couldn't do anything about Sasori?"

The blue skinned man smiled weakly; his body laid out flat on the ground. He too was drenched from the rain, but there was no sweat covering his form. Instead, his skin was pale, his veins visible. His body looked small despite its normal hulking mass. His stomach cried out for sustinence that was not there, and the blade at his side mewled pathetically. The man's eyes were sunken. He looked to say something before he tilted his head and retched in the opposite direction. Slowly he turned his head once again to face the blonde.

"Heh. What can I say? His poison is top notch."

Naruto rolled his eyes.

"I'm surprised it didn't kill you."

"Only nicked me. Still, even that little made me feel this weak. If I got anymore, I'd probably be dead."

The blonde nodded.

"Why didn't you do that by the way?"

Naruto frowned, locking eyes with Kisame. The man seemed genuinely curious. He supposed it made sense. Naruto didn't originally, and still didn't, want to go to Amegakure. And they were both rogue shinobi, or at least Naruto was. He wasn't sure about the swordsman. It only made sense to kill him and be done with it. Kisame had forced his other two assailants away. Kakuzu had fled. Get rid of the last problematic variable and be on his way. That was what the logical shinobi would have done. That was what a shinobi at war would have done.

But that was not who he was.

"You saved my life," Naruto muttered as if it was obvious. "If I had fought Sasori and Zabuza along with Kakuzu...especially if you had joined, I'd be a dead man right now. Consider this me paying you back for that."

Kisame grinned.

"Ah...you're honorable. Not exactly the thing shinobi should be trying to emulate."

"Good thing I'm not a shinobi then," Naruto stated, the word dripping off his tongue with venom. Even Kisame could realize there was underlying problems there and was silent. The two simply rested, their thoughts occupying their mind as they waited through the night.

Itachi sat down on his hospital bed, a sigh escaping his lips. He looked up at the night sky through the window in the room, his thoughts unfocused. A million things raced by. What would happen to the fort and Iwa's offensive? How was his father doing? What did Danzo want with the information on the battle? He had seemed unusually interested in seeing if there were any Uchiha causalities. What had happened to Roshi? To the Tsuchikage?

He wasn't sure.

He wasn't able to ponder it any longer as his wife came into the room, a worried look on her face.

"Itachi-kun!"

The woman rushed over, immediately looking him over, her eyes filled with worry. Itachi wanted to give a soft laugh. She was always like this every time he returned from a tour. You would think she would have gotten over his weary sight, especially considering she was a shinobi herself. Of course, he supposed becoming part of the R&D team after becoming a chunin would make her not as aware of some of the brutalities of shinobi life beyond the realm of a Genin.

"I'm fine Izumi."

Izumi's eyes snapped up at him, irritation on her face.

"There is no way you're fine when you're stuck in the hospital for a month. Your injuries were severe! How did you even get chakra burns anyway? Those are incredibly rare. The only time I think I've ever seen them is when..." Izumi trailed off, her eyes narrowing.

"You fought a Jinchuriki didn't you!"

Itachi did not look her in the eye. The anger radiating off of his wife was palpable. The woman's eyes narrowed even further as she brought her head closer to his. She was right in front of him, their noses touching as she glared daggers into his eyes. He tried to look away only for her to grab him by his chin and force him to look at her.

"What did I say about fighting Jinchuriki Itachi?"

"Not to," the man whispered.

"Louder!"

"Not to!"

"And what did you do anyway?"

"I fought a Jinchuriki."

"You fought a Jinchuriki!"

"You know I have little choice. Outside of my father I'm the strongest shinobi on the Iwa front lines. It's my responsibility to take on the most dangerous enemies, even if they may be Jinchuriki."

"And it's my responsibility to ensure you remember you have other responsibilities than just to the village," Izumi stated. "Responsibilities to your mother and father. To Sasuke. To me."

Izumi rubbed her stomach, a small smile gracing her face.

"To them."

Itachi's eyes widened, pausing. He looked at her stomach and then looked back up at her smiling face and then back at her stomach. His mouth opened, and then closed, and then opened again. A gurgle could be heard, as if he were trying and failing to get something out. Izumi had to hold back a laugh at her husband's reaction.

"Close your mouth honey you'll catch flies."

"Are you serious?"

"Mhm."

"How long have you known?"

"I checked the day after you left. I didn't want to tell you because I wanted it to be a surprise when you got back."

"Two months..." Itachi whispered. "Two months..."

Izumi frowned.

"I understand if you're angry..."

"Angry," Itachi muttered as if the very concept was foreign. "How could I be angry? We're parents. We're gonna be parents! But I thought the doctor said-"

"Fuck the doctor," Izumi stated, a smile on her face. "Infertility or not, it happened."

Tears began to form on Itachi's face, a smile cracking the stoic mask he typically wore. Izumi smiled as well, tears falling down her face.

"We're parents Itachi. It's finally happening."

The two lovers embraced, smiles on their face as they began to talk about their future plans.

Konohamaru's eyes widened as the door to his room in the hospital opened, revealing none other than a pink haired kunoichi.

"Sakura-senpai!"

The woman waved him off, a smile on her face.

"Please stop calling me something so formal. We're the same rank."

"Only in title. You're the leader of the entire medical division in the village!"

Sakura shrugged, sitting down next to the Sarutobi.

"How are you feeling? Your injuries were serious. You're lucky you'll make a full recovery."

Konohamaru frowned, shrugging. He winced at the action. A frown formed on Sakura's face to match his own.

"I'm hanging in there. I'll be better soon."

Sakura nodded. "That's good. I heard from Ino you've been beating yourself up."

Konohamaru groaned, slumping in his bed. She had sent a messenger bird already? Damn that Yamanaka! Sakura stifled a laugh at his reaction, raising her hands placatingly.

"Look, I grew up with two perfectionist assholes as teammates, and then an even worse one as a mentor. It rubbed off on me too. You'll get no criticism from me."

"Thank you."

Sakura smiled, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Besides, leader, you've got a mission to plan for. You don't have time to beat yourself up about Sunagakure, we clear?"

Konohamaru frowned, looking at Sakura. His mind raced with thousands of possibilities.

"About that...do you think you can take him in a taijutsu contest?"

Sakura laughed, shaking her head. "Straight to business I see? Hm...well as a medic my duty first and foremost is to keep everyone alive. So, I wouldn't be engaging him in taijutsu much."

"But-"

"Ah ah ah, no buts. That's the second rule of being an iryo-nin. Besides, I don't think either of us would want to someone to die on this mission."

"Yeah," Konohamaru spat. "If anyone dies it should be him."

Sakura was silent, staring into the young man's eyes at his reaction. Konohamaru was no longer focused on her, instead glaring into the wall in front of him. The pink haired medic frowned.

"We'll be able to capture him Konohamaru. You, me, Sasuke, Tsume, Shikamaru, Sai, and an ANBU squad should be enough firepower. With you, Sasuke, and I we know his abilities better than anyone except himself. There's no surprises he can throw at us."

Konohamaru nodded silently. Sakura, realizing the conversation was over stood to leave. She walked to the door, opening it. She paused as she walked out, looking back at the Sarutobi.

"To answer your question though...as long as he isn't shrouded in that armor of his, I can beat him."

With that she closed the door.

Konohamaru smiled.

Naruto frowned as he walked through the rain, the downpour not ending despite morning coming. Both he and his companion were drenched. Naruto grunted, readjusted Kisame on his back. Samehada rested on the blue-skinned man's back, gurgling. Naruto grunted, his muscles groaning in pain. He had been walking for days. It was getting tiring. Silently he created a clone and gave it the burden of being the pack mule for the sickly swordsman. Still, his muscles ached all the same. It was painful to walk. He needed a distraction.

"You said the Amekage was the strongest shinobi in the world," Naruto called out. "You were joking right?"

A weak grin split Kisame's face.

"Oh no, absolutely not. The Amekage is definitely the strongest shinobi on the planet. Frankly, he might be the strongest shinobi ever."

Naruto rolled his eyes.

"Right, because someone that powerful is going to suddenly appear in the middle of some backwater village somewhere."

"Why do you think Ame became recognized as a Great Power?"

Naruto was silent. Kisame's grin grew more confident.

"Exactly. Even you don't know why, but the answer is staring you in the face. Ame has no Jinchuriki. They have the smallest border of any Great Power. Sure, they were more notable than other minor villages in the past, especially when Hanzo was in charge, but even Hanzo couldn't make them renowned as a Great Power. So, what changed? Why has no other Great Power dared to invade their borders?"

The silence continued, only broken by the downpour of rain. Kisame snorted.

"It's him. The other kage's know exactly how powerful the Amekage is."

"Then why wouldn't they have formed a coalition to destroy the village like they did Uzushio so long ago. There's no way they truly believe he's strong enough to fend off their combined might."

"No, I doubt even he could fight off multiple villages armies descending upon him at once, even with the help of the other powerful shinobi there. If I had to wager a guess it would have to do with his nature. I'm no expert on politics, but the Amekage is a bit of a pacifist."

Naruto snorted. A kage? A pacifist? The role was antithetical to the position.

"Laugh all you want but it's true. Maybe pacifist isn't the word for it, but he's nonaggressive at least. Why charge into an immovable wall when after a few decades, like anything else, it will wither away?"

"So, they're banking on him staying a hermit until he dies? Sorry, but there's no way you expect me to believe that the Tsuchikage and Raikage are content with that."

"They have bigger problems than someone who isn't committing themselves into the war effort. I have no doubt that if the war were to end Ame would be invaded by a combined force. But until then? It remains safe."

"So, the Amekage is a coward and profiting off of the war. Fantastic."

"I doubt you'd say that to his face," Kisame chortled out. The man grinned, staring at Naruto. "You'll understand when you meet him. He's a dreamer, that's for sure."

Naruto frowned. Silence reigned between the two briefly before another question came.

"If he's so powerful, why should I go to him? Clearly, he can't come to me himself if he sent you. If I go to him, he could kill me from what you're saying. Why should I risk that possibility?"

"Well for one, regardless of what you say he wouldn't attack you unless you attacked him first. Like I said, he's nonaggressive."

"And I should believe you?"

"Believe what you want. The shinobi world is full of deception. We both know that. I came to the Amekage because he offered truth."

"Truth," Naruto muttered, playing around with the word on his tongue like it was a nasty piece of food. "The only truth in this world is suffering."

"I'm inclined to agree. And that's exactly why you'll like the Amekage just as much as I did."

Naruto frowned.

"You said you joined him because he offered truth. So, you're no longer a nuke-nin? But that hasn't been officially reported."

"By my request," Kisame stated. "How do you think Kiri would react?"

"They'd send a kill squad. Probably the Mizukage herself would be part of it, and that's just to get back Samehada much less stop you from spilling any secrets."

"Exactly. Not worth the hassle, especially when we killed them all."

Naruto frowned.

"You sound so confident at killing a kage led hitsquad."

"He's. Strong."

Naruto frowned. Kisame said the words with such conviction he was inclined to believe him. Kisame Hoshigaki would not overstate someone's strength. He wouldn't speak with this much reverance for anyone. The man was confident he could take on every kage, every Jinchuriki, every shinobi with the exception of the Amekage. That type of belief didn't come from nothing at the level he was at, that much was obvious. Whoever the Amekage was, Naruto was sure of one thing. Kisame was not lying when he said that they were a powerful shinobi.

"What truth did he offer for you to work under him?"

Kisame smirked.

"You got the time?"

"I literally have nothing but it."

"Freedom from lies," Kisame stated, a frown on his face. "I'm sure you know how it is. Village leadership decides who gets to know what based on their own political agendas. Higher ups in the shinobi ranks will sell out your comrades for money, power, fame, sex, anything. People die in the process. People you care about. People you trained with. Perhaps those you love. This shinobi world is one filled with lies. Deception, with someone always holding a dagger behind their back lest you reach out to stab them. Loyalty is a myth. It's just senseless slaughter."

Kisame looked up at the sky.

"The Amekage isn't like that. He doesn't lie. He's honest. No hidden daggers. No secrets on a need-to-know basis. He's honest. With everyone. Even the citizens. That type of honesty...it's unprecedented. He is someone who is truly loyal. Not just to the people or the shinobi that serve under him, but to his beliefs. He cares. He'd sooner throw his life away than send his shinobi to do it for him. He's a real leader."

"So, he's a liar. There's no one like that in this world."

Kisame laughed.

"I figured you'd say that. You're just like I was when I first came here. All skepticism, no faith."

"I grew up in a place with Danzo Shimura in a position of leadership."

"Yondaime Mizukage."

"You didn't grow up under him."

"Gengetsu Hozuki was damn near his inspiration."

"Madara Uchiha."

"Oh, wow big bad boogeyman, that you weren't even alive for."

Naruto grunted.

"Fact of the matter is, he's different than those men."

"I'll believe it when I see it."

"Fight him."

Naruto blinked, confused. "I thought you said he wouldn't be trying to kill me?"

"He wouldn't. Have you never heard that when powerful shinobi cross paths they can feel each other's hearts?"

"Sounds like some bullshit."

"Yeah, sounds like it to me too," Kisame stated, a grin on his face. "I prefer cutting 'em open if you know what I mean! None of that get to know your opponent shit. But I felt it with him. That man is different."

Naruto frowned, crossing his arms.

"I'll believe it-"

"When you see it, yeah yeah yeah. Do you have anything new to say?"

"I can kill you right now you know."

"I'd like to see you try it."

"Drop him."

"Oi! Wait a second here! Samehada back me up here!"

The man and his clone came to a pause as he looked out at the massive metal city. It's buildings towered into the sky, metal monstrosities of a kind he had never seen before. It was unlike any other village. More modernized. Ame had always been rumored to be the most technologically advanced village, a reason for why they were so powerful as a minor nation, but he had not expected this. Konoha was only beginning to build its first skyscrapers. Ame's entire capital was made of them.

"It's quite a sight huh," Kisame stated, a grin on his face. Naruto did not respond, instead continuing to walk forwards. The clone followed him. They walked for a brief moment, only for Naruto's eyes to narrow and the blonde to raise his hand, halting the clone. His eyes quickly snapped onto Kisame, anger in them.

"You said he wasn't going to attack me!"

"He isn't."

"Then why do I feel his chakra in the very rain?"

Kisame grinned, staring at the blonde. Shortly a laugh came from his lips, his shark-like teeth making an ominous sight. Chakra began to build in Naruto's body, prepared to flee the area only for Kisame to speak.

"That's just his sensory technique. He keeps it up on specific days to look for intruders. Don't worry about it."

Naruto frowned.

"This jutsu is the size of the entire capital. And you're telling me he sustains it for entire days by himself? Please."

Kisame stared at him, his face neutral. Naruto frowned.

"You're...not joking."

"Not even a little."

Naruto frowned, turning back to face the village. Suddenly the gravity of the situation was beginning to hit him. This Amekage...might truly be as powerful as Kisame had mentioned. The blonde cautiously continued his march towards the city, his eyes scanning over every nook and cranny in the ground. His senses flared out, utilizing his wind to keep careful measure over everything in the surrounding area. That was why he felt the figure's approach long before he saw them. The woman landed on the ground in front of him, paper wings folding out from her back. She was covered in a black robe, with red clouds painted onto it. She stared at him and Kisame with an emptiness that made even Naruto uneasy.

"Who are you?"

"My name is Konan. I am a servant to the Amekage. I have come to greet you."

"He couldn't come himself?"

"The Amekage is currently talking with the factory workers union and their business leaders. I'm afraid he has to handle that situation before he can meet with you. But he is quite happy you accepted his request."

Naruto's eyes narrowed as the woman reached out her hand.

"Please, allow me to take you to him."

Naruto frowned, activating his armor, and allowing it to lift him into the air.

"I'll fly myself thank you."

Konan smiled.

"As you wish."

Naruto glanced at his clone. It nodded, dispelling and dropping Kisame to the ground.

"Hey! Asshole!"

A storm of paper fluttered around the sickly man, lifting him up as if he were resting on a platform. Naruto's eyes widened at the sight. Konan nodded at him to follow before she took off in a burst of speed, Kisame fluttering behind her. Naruto's eyes narrowed and he followed, moving much slower than she was. His eyes analyzed the large city. There were countless stalls and shops open on the ground below. So many people were moving around in such a cramped space. They were like ants. The population of their capital at least had to be equivalent to that of Konoha's, but in such a compact space. The city couldn't have been more than a third of Konoha's size. Was this what skyscrapers were capable of?

His eyes widened as he saw the tracks being built to the sides of the city. They were making train connections. No, if the size and scale of the tracks were anything to note they were almost completed. They had likely started in minor villages within the country and were just now connecting it to the capital. And the number of workers was nothing to scoff at either. They used strange tools and heavy machinery that Naruto had never seen before.

"Please try and pay attention. I understand Ame is a very unique culture to what you are used to, but it would be quite easy to get lost in this environment."

Naruto's head shot upwards, noticing Konan looking back at him, a small smile on her face. Naruto nodded weakly, his eyes never leaving her form as they flew throughout the city towards where the Amekage resided. Just as Naruto began to get comfortable within the city of towers was when they came upon it. The largest tower in the entire city. Four humanoid faces sat on each side, with two smaller towers connected at its sides. Each face of on the tower had strange eyes that rippled. A pipe extended from his mouth, resting solidly on the pierced tongue that stuck out from each face. Naruto's eyes widened at the sight.

"This is where the Amekage resides," Konan mentioned, flying into one of the mouths. "Please follow me."

Naruto grunted, looking back out towards the edge of Amegakure. This was his last chance to run. His last chance to leave just in case this was all one elaborate trap to kill him. The blonde turned back towards the tower, his eyes narrowing. This was an easy method to extracting a Jinchuriki. He had already returned Kisame. The man wouldn't die now that he was in the care of his own forces. He had repaid his debt. They were even. He had no obligation to go talk to the Amekage.

"You must be Naruto Uzumaki," came the voice.

Naruto's eyes narrowed, looking at the lithe red headed man that looked out at him from inside the tower's mouth. His rippled eyes, likely the inspiration for the humanoid faces on the tower, stared out at him, pulsating with power. He seemed to be about in his mid fourties. A rare age to reach as a shinobi. One reserved for the incredibly powerful. The man seemed comfortable, as if he was not talking to one of the most wanted men in the entire world.

"It's a pleasure to meet another one of Jiraiya-sensei's students."

The man had Naruto's attention after that. The blonde was looking him directly in the eyes, dojutsu be damned. He was analyzing the man's entire being. He was clearly strong. The way he stood told him that alone. But who was he? A student of Jiraiya? Jiraiya had certainly never spoken of another student outside of his father. The man had never even trained a Konoha genin team, and yet here some Amegakure shinobi of all people was claiming to be his student. It was preposterous. But there were no tells. No twitch. No aversion of eye contact. Not even displaced breathing if his senses were anything to take into consideration. No, the man felt completely comfortable claiming the position. Either he was an incredible liar, or he was telling the truth.

"Jiraiya never spoke of a man with rippling eyes."

The man laughed a casual laugh, warmth filling his eyes.

"Yes, I suppose he wouldn't. He wanted us to gather strength after all. Putting even more pressure onto us, especially under Hanzo's Ame would have been a death sentence. Especially if people found out that my eyes actually exist."

Naruto frowned. He was getting more questions than answers right now. Who was he? Did he know Jiraiya? If he did why did Jiraiya never speak of him? Were those eyes special? They were certainly some forms of dojutsu, likely rare ones if he had never heard of their existence, but there were plenty of rare dojutsu he had never heard of. These couldn't be anything special...right?

"I understand you must have questions," the man called out as if reading his mind. "Please come in. Let's talk. I have no intention of fighting with you."

Naruto's eyes narrowed. He opened his mouth only for the man to call out again.

"How do you know you can trust me? It's simple really," the man called. "Who would kill family?"

Naruto saw red. He had one family member left, and she was locked in a psych ward in Konoha. He blitzed forwards, his wind armor fully activated, and fist pulled back for a devastating punch. Consequences of attacking a kage be damned. The man potentially being one of the strongest shinobi on the continent be damned. He would not allow someone to tarnish Hinata's and Jiraiya's legacy.

The man raised his hand and suddenly Naruto's entire attack was stopped cold. The wind surrounding him shattered as a ripple of force flew outwards. His body smashed flat onto the tongue of the statue, completely unable to move due to some overpowering force. His eyes widened, staring up at the man who looked at him with nothing but kind eyes despite his assault and subsequent defeat. How had he done that? How had he stopped him in his tracks so easily?

No one could do that.

"I understand you're confused. I understand you're probably angry with me. But please allow me to introduce myself."

The man reached a hand out to Naruto, the pressure on the blonde lifting. The shock of the experience had calmed him. He rose to his feet with the man's help, realizing that he was taller than the redhead. At least he had something on the man.

The man smiled.

"My name is Nagato Uzumaki. It is a pleasure to meet you cousin."

Naruto followed Nagato throughout the elaborate house. The tower was impressive he had to admit. It had a large training arena that was completely covered in chakra suppressing seals so as to protect it from powerful attacks. Ten rooms lay in the building, although only four seemed occupied. Most looked like offices, although one was designed in the shape of a room. Each was rather unique in its design. Naruto could clearly see which belonged to Kisame judging by the shark-theme. It was...disturbing to see such a hulking monstrosity act like a child when it came to sharks.

"How do you like it?"

Naruto frowned, still quiet after Nagato had introduced himself. Nagato had asked him questions every so often, but he had always ignored them, preferring to keep analyzing what he had said.

Uzumaki.

Well...he had the red hair for it he supposed. Certainly, looked more like an Uzumaki than he was. At least as far as he knew. He couldn't be sure of what an Uzumaki was supposed to look like. He had never met one before. He only knew bits and pieces thanks to Tsunade. Nagato seemed to pick up on this. The man sighed, gesturing to a table in the center of the office they were in. Both men sat down looking at each other. Naruto's eyes were narrowed while Nagato sat in a comfortable position, a kind smile on his face.

"You must be questioning how you can be sure I'm an Uzumaki. After all, our clan is mostly extinct."

Naruto nodded.

"I understand. It is confusing. Allow me to tell you my story then."

Naruto stared. Nagato's smile withered slightly. He was somewhat taken aback by Naruto's eyes. They were...unsettling. He had imagined their first meeting to be standoffish, but this was a bit much even for him.

"I was born here when Ame was still under the rule of Hanzo the Salamander. My mother was of Uzumaki blood, but my father was an ordinary Amegakure civilian. As you might imagine my mother had relocated to Ame after Uzushio was invaded."

Naruto nodded.

Nagato continued. "My mother worked as a nurse in a village not incredibly far from here and met my father, where they had me. But of course, the life of a civilian in our world is not an easy one. The Second Shinobi World War broke out, and Ame became a battleground for the Great Powers. My country burned. Struggle became a way of life. At every location, our borders were breached by the Great Powers. Their battles scared our land. Countless deaths filled our country. The Ame Catacombs are proof enough of that. Some say the never-ending rain started due to the land weeping at the sight of so many of its own being slaughtered."

Nagato sighed, his eyes downcast for the first time since Naruto had seen him. His past seemed to weigh on him.

"My family was not unique. Konoha shinobi broke into our home looking for food. My parents tried to leave and take me with them...but we were discovered. They tried to defend themselves, but it was of no use. The Konoha shinobi killed my parents. They aimed to kill me."

"So, what, you're here for revenge?"

Nagato smiled, looking up at Naruto. The smile was lifeless.

"No. Does that surprise you?"

Naruto grunted. "Somewhat. I know what I would have done in this situation if you were a Kiri shinobi."

Nagato smiled.

"Ah that hatred. It is so powerful. I understand it. I have felt it myself. But it leads nowhere good."

Naruto was silent, allowing Nagato to continue with his story. He had no disagreement with what the man said. Jiraiya had said much of the same thing. Killing Onoki...it had brought him no peace.

"I survived. Managed to kill the Konoha shinobi. Avenge my parents. An orphan. I left my home, and met Konan, I believe you've met, and Yahiko. We lived together, trying hard to survive. But we were three orphans. Orphans with big dreams, but powerless orphans, nonetheless. Dreams to eliminate war. Dreams where we could care for the people of our country. Of the world. But we had no training. No skill."

"That's where Jiraiya comes in, I suppose? He had a bleeding heart if I ever saw one."

Nagato laughed, wiping a tear from his eye. "Yes, well he wouldn't be Jiraiya-sensei if he wasn't a complete softie now, would he? He taught us how to fish. How to defend ourselves. He trained us for three years. We formed the Akatsuki, the group that now controls Amegakure. We gained a following. A large following. Large enough where Hanzo grew threatened. First, he tried to work with us, but it was truly an attempt to double cross us. He came close to killing us. But not close enough. We defeated him and took control of Amegakure. We have been running the village ever since, Konan, Yahiko, and I."

Naruto's eyes narrowed. He seemed to digest the story, looking for any sign of deceit.

"And I'm supposed to believe you? Hanzo could have died of old age and left you as his successor. There's no proof anything you're saying is true. There are too many holes. How did you survive your encounter with Konoha shinobi as a child? Kill them no less? How did you defeat Hanzo of all people, someone the Sannin combined couldn't accomplish?"

"You haven't told him yet Nagato?"

Naruto turned as Nagato's eyes looked upwards. An orange haired man walked in the room. The man was clearly heavier than Nagato, more muscle on his frame. Still, he was lithe. Tall. Unlike Nagato who was calm this man looked like a barely constrained storm. His eyes carried blood in them. Anger. Ambition. They were eyes Naruto was familiar with. He had seen them on himself.

"Who are you?"

"I'm the Yahiko in that story," the man stated, a smile on his face. He stuck out his hand. "Nice to meet ya Mr. Blood Reaper."

Naruto did not shake the man's hand, instead eyeing him with distrust. Yahiko seemed to take no offense, taking his hand back and walking along the room to sit in a free desk in the corner.

"Those unions and firm owners man. Sheesh. I was in there for so long. You know you really shouldn't have left Nagato. You're the Amekage not me."

"You're much better at handling those things than I am. I have no knack for negotiation."

"No knack for it," Yahiko mocked as though the claim was ridiculous. "And yet it's entirely because of you we're considered a Great Power now. When ya gonna take some damn pride in who you are and what you can do Nagato? I mean you haven't even told him what the hell you can do!"

Naruto glanced at Nagato, raising an eyebrow. The red haired Uzumaki sighed.

"You asked why I survived? It is the same reason why Yahiko is praising me-"

"Bullshit! They ain't got shit to do with it, I'm praising you for you! Them damn orbs don't mean shit without you being in charge of them."

Nagato sighed, gesturing to his eyes.

"I survived thanks to my eyes. My dojutsu. The Rinnegan."

Naruto's eyes narrowed.

"Never heard of it."

"Well, I never took you for a religious man."

"Hm?"

"Are you aware of the Sage of Six Paths?"

"The myth? Yeah. Who isn't?"

"The myth he says," Yahiko muttered. The man shook his head as if he was talking to an idiot. "Are you blind or something? Proof of it is staring you in the face."

Naruto's eyes narrowed, looking at Yahiko with annoyed eyes before he looked at Nagato once more. The man's eyes were certainly something he had never seen before, but the Eye of Samsara? This was its official name?

"I understand you do not believe me," Nagato stated. "I do not blame you. I would not in your shoes. But if it is any consolation, Jiraiya-sensei believed."

"I still have no proof you even knew the old pervert."

"Summon a toad," Yahiko explained. "They knew us. Wouldn't be hard for one of them to recognize us."

Naruto frowned, biting his lip. Frustration settled into his body, and it was obvious.

"My...summoning contract with the toads has been void ever since I left Konoha."

Yahiko blinked, looking at Nagato before turning to look at Naruto again.

"Nagato...you sure we got the right guy here? Rumors said that he could summon toads like Jiraiya-sensei!"

Naruto glared at the man, prepared to respond only for a cool voice to butt into the conversation.

"Enough."

The three men turned to see the lone woman in the room, Konan standing there. Her piercing eyes seemed to see through everyone even though she lacked dojutsu. Yahiko blushed.

"My love," the man swooned. "Please come sit near me."

Konan rolled her eyes but sat next to her husband anyway. Her instantly threw his arms around her, as if he was nothing but an immature child. The sight brought a smile to Nagato's face. Naruto's body relaxed slightly.

"I apologize for my husband's behavior. He's rather crude."

"Honey-"

"Nagato," Konan stated, cutting him off. "Please, explain to Naruto why we asked to meet with him. I'm afraid if Yahiko controls anymore of this conversation we'll end up never getting to the point."

Nagato laughed, rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment for letting the other man take control of the conversation so easily. Naruto's gaze shifted between the three. They had an interesting dynamic. Kinship. Familiarity. They didn't view each other as subordinates but rather as equals. Maybe they had truly grown up together. That part of their story was likely true from his estimation.

"Yes well, it may be better to see it in person," Nagato stated, standing. The man walked to the door, gesturing for Naruto to follow him.

"Come. Walk with me through the city of Ame. Besides, I believe there is someone you would like to meet."

"I'd rather not walk through the rain."

Nagato blinked, looking up through the window to see that it was indeed still raining.

"I suppose there's truly no need for it now that we know you're back," he stated, and with a simple gesture the rain parted, revealing the sun overhead. Naruto's eyes widened. That...wasn't normal. The man had barely done anything and had caused such massive weather manipulation with his ninjutsu. A small knot of fear rose in Naruto's chest at the very sight of it. A small worry of acknowledgement.

A worry that what the man claimed was actually true.

The duo walked through the village, careful to avoid any puddles left from the torrential downpour that had occurred just moments before. Villagers greeted them in the street, each with a smile on their face.

"Nagato-san look at what I made today in school!"

The child held up a small ornament, covered in glitter and glue. It was a mess. Nagato smiled at it all the same.

"That's quite beautiful Himiko-chan. Your parents must be so proud of you."

The girl nodded happily. "Mhm! I just got out so I'm gonna go see them now. I'll see you later Nagato!"

The man waved as she ran off, smiling all the while. Naruto's eyes narrowed as they continued to walk through the streets. More and more people continued to greet them as they walked. It seemed everywhere they went someone had something to say to the man.

"Hey Nagato, stop in for a bite to eat, it's been a while!"

"Nagato, thanks for stopping the rain today! I appreciate it! I was worried my garden would drown."

"The hospital is doing so well ever since your started utilizing Hanzo's poisons as repurposed medicine! My daughter is finally out from her surgery and her recovery went better than expected!"

"Nagato, you should come over tonight for dinner! My cousin is visiting from a nearby village. He's a big fan"

Nagato accepted conversations from everyone who spoke with him, a smile on his face that was always filled with warmth. The man seemed to know everyone. He was a part of their lives, a member of the social fabric on an intimate level. The lifeblood of Ame. No one spoke ill of the man. They all kept trying to invite him to do some activity or giving him updates about their lives. It was a strange experience. Even Hiruzen was not this loved by Konoha. It was strange. It was like he was family to everyone there. Even down to the protectiveness over someone who was clearly stronger than they were. Every Ame shinobi eyed him, their eyes filled with a mix of curiosity and suspicion. They were a hurt people. That much was clear. Naruto was uncomfortable with the attention. He would rather not even be here if he had a choice.

"They all know you well...and are quite protective of you."

"Yes," Nagato said, chuckling. "You'll have to forgive them. They've become rather...attached to me ever since we freed them from Danzo's oppression."

"What exactly was he doing to them?"

"Mostly economic oppression," Nagato said. "It's why the unions are advocating so harshly against the business owners as of late. They want more laws passed that reflect their economic power. Hanzo led a military economy. Workers rights wasn't particularly something he cared about. Of course, that wasn't everything. He did it all, anything from genetic experiments to weapons testing on them. He was a man dedicated to protecting Ame's borders by any means necessary. I can respect his desire to protect our borders, but not how he treated our citizens."

"You're a hero to them."

"I suppose."

The two walked in silence, Naruto eyeing his companion with interest throughout their journey.

"Something on your mind?"

"You're unlike many leaders. The Raikage is brash. Violent. Emotional. Onoki was steadfast. Stubborn. Arrogant. Hiruzen was open. Vulnerable. Gullible. I have never met the Mizukage or Tsuchikage but I expect they also have their character flaws. You...so far I see none. Powerful, yet compassionate. Emotional enough to care for his people's needs, but not arrogant enough to believe he knows it all or is above them. You've even managed to convince Kisame Hoshigaki to be loyal to you. It is not something I can trust in."

Nagato laughed.

"You flatter me cousin. Your analysis of me is far too kind. I just like other kage have character flaws."

Naruto rolled his eyes. "I'll believe that when I see it."

Nagato chuckled but continued to lead. The duo walked in silence for a long while, the village dying down as the sun began to set. People going home to have dinners with their families. The silence between the two was tense. Nagato seemed comfortable but Naruto was always on guard.

"Are you always so defensive?"

"It keeps me alive."

Nagato nodded, sadness filling his eyes.

"Yes. I understand. It is the logical conclusion for any shinobi that has seen the horrors you have. But it is something I wish to change."

"This have to do with your goal?"

Nagato nodded.

"Yes. Peace."

Naruto snorted, rolling his eyes.

"Ah, I see the resemblance with Jiraiya now."

Nagato smiled. "Has it never interested you? Have you never contemplated the idea?"

"Of course. Who doesn't want peace? The issue is every country, no, every person has their own definition. Each kage believes peace is when their nation is solidified as the only Great Power. Even better if their own political power isn't threatened. My own peace was to be left alone, and that has been taken from me. Repeatedly. So, forgive me if I am skeptical of your own idea for peace."

"I understand. I would be too. I too do not desire other kage's definition of peace. Mine is much simpler. I wish to continue Hanzo's vision, but in my own way. I merely wish to defend Ame's borders so that no one should invade it. I have no dreams of global conquest."

Nagato looked at Naruto.

"Does that satisfy you?"

Naruto frowned.

"It's not believable. Every kage says that. But they all invariably end up participating in war. Besides, even if you do not wish it, the other Great Powers will eventually come knocking. Surely you don't think you can defeat them by being defensive."

"Yes. I understand, it is not believable. I wouldn't believe me either. So, stay...let me show you. Remain here, as a guest."

Naruto frowned, opening his mouth to speak only for Nagato to come to a stop in front of a gate. They were outside what looked to be a gated community, a strange sight in a city such as this. One that stuck out significantly in the otherwise skyscraper-filled city. It seemed so...out of place. What was this place?

"Before you answer I would like for you to see something," Nagato stated, knocking on the gate. "You see, I hid one of my goals from you. I hope you'll forgive me, but I wanted it to be a surprise."

The door opened, revealing a redheaded woman that smiled as soon as she saw Nagato.

"Nagato honey," the woman called, planting a kiss on the man's cheek. "It's so nice to see you. And who might this young man be?"

Nagato smiled.

"This is Naruto Uzumaki dear. Naruto, this is my wife Fuka Uzumaki. And inside you'll have found the last remnants of the Uzumaki Clan that I could find."

Naruto's eyes widened, shock filling them as Fuka walked up to him. The woman smiled, rubbing his blonde hair.

"Blonde hair? Aren't you a unique Uzumaki. Minato Namikaze certaintly had some strong genes."

"Uzumaki..." Naruto whispered. He stumbled backwards, an emotion he hadn't felt in a long while filling his chest. That trademark red hair. She had it too. But this could all be one elaborate prank. A genjutsu? A trap? The blonde fluctuated his chakra pathways, but nothing happened. Fuka laughed.

"Nagato! He thinks he's under genjutsu! What did you do to him?"

"Nothing," Nagato said, smiling.

"Are...are you really..."

He couldn't finish his sentence. Fuka smiled, realizing what he wanted to say anyway and bringing him into a hug.

"Yes, it's real. It's not your imagination," she whispered into his head. "It's not a genjutsu. We're family. I know how you feel. Please...come inside. Meet your family."

Naruto nodded dumbly, following the woman as she grabbed him by the hand and led him inside. Nagato closed the door behind them, following Naruto with a pleased look on his face. The trio only got so far before a ball of energy smashed into Nagato's leg.

"Daddy! You're home!"

Naruto turned, his body shaking as he saw Nagato lift a small child, placing him on his shoulder.

"It's good to see you too Ashino. Have you been good to your mother?"

"Mhm! I was extra good today! Mommy said I could have ice cream because of it!"

"I said no such thing!"

"But moooooooom."

"Listen to your mother son."

Ashino pouted, his red hair flopping at the action before he turned to look at Naruto, his blue eyes meeting Naruto's violet. He stared curiously at the man.

"Who are you?"

Nagato smiled.

"This is your uncle Naruto."

Naruto looked at Nagato, immediately about to protest only for Ashino to instantly hop off of his father's shoulder and rush Naruto, slamming into him as well.

"Uncle! Why haven't I met you before? Are you a ninja? My dad and mom are ninjas! They're super cool! My dad can make it rain! Can you make it rain? Do you have weird eyes? Can you do that thing aunty Karin can do with those chains? Where are you from? Why do you have blonde hair? How old-"

"Let's not bombard him with questions Ashino," Fuka stated, rubbing her childs head. "He's very tired from his journey."

Naruto looked down at Ashino, shock still filling his system. Slowly he reached down, almost as if he was afraid to touch him, to gently place his hand on Ashino's shoulders. Slowly, shakily, he whispered.

"You haven't met me before because I'm from Konohagakure. I grew up there, and yes, I am a ninja. I can make it rain, but nothing like what your father can do. But I can manipulate the wind better than your father. I do not have a dojutsu, and I cannot do anything with chains. And I have blonde hair because my father had blonde hair."

Ashino smiled.

"That's cool."

The child said it as if it was the most basic thing in the world. A tear trailed from Naruto's eye. Nagato smiled at him.

"Ashino! Don't just go running off. I can't chase you around I'm pregnant!"

Naruto turned, surprise on his face as he saw another redheaded woman, with her stomach having a slight bump on it approaching. A black haired man was next to her, the man seeming to hide behind her as if he was out of place. Naruto couldtell instantly that he wasn't an Uzumaki, likely the redheaded woman's husband.

"You're too slow, keep up Karin! Blame Kamino for why you're so slow!"

"And how do you know that," Karin exclaimed.

"Because he got you pregnant. Duh. I'm not five, I'm ten."

"Ten-year-olds shouldn't know about that!"

Ashino stuck out his tongue. Karin's eyes narrowed.

"Come here you little twerp!"

Both Fuka and Karin reached out, smashing their fists onto Ashino's head. The child cried out in pain, rubbing his head and pouting. Karin looked up from her action, her eyes resting on Naruto.

"Oh, you must be the Naruto we've heard so much about. It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Karin Uzumaki, and this is my husband Kamino Hitami."

"It's a pleasure to meet you," Kamino stated politely.

Naruto could only mumble out a greeting, his mind blown that there were this many Uzumaki remaining. Tsunade would have killed to see this. She wouldn't believe it. He wouldn't believe it if he didn't see it himself. Nagato smiled.

"Why don't we all go inside and get some food hm?"

"Yay! Food," Ashino cheered, rushing towards the the larger of the two houses. Fuku and Karin followed him, shaking their heads. Kamino nodded briefly at Naruto before following after the trio. Nagato smiled.

"After you."

"So you're from Konoha right ojisan?"

"Don't eat with your mouth full Ashino!"

The boy pouted at his mother, who glared back at him. Her hair rose ominously behind her like tails. Ashino kept up his pout but finished eating the food in his mouth. When he was finished, he spoke again.

"I just wanna know."

"He's come quite a long way," Kamino stated. "Perhaps it would be best to let him relax first?"

"No, it's quite alright," Naruto stated. He nodded his thanks at Kamino regardless. He looked at his food briefly, before looking at Ashino. His heart filled with emotions he couldn't describe. Emotions he thought no longer existed.

"Yes, I'm from Konoha."

"What's it like there? I hear there are these huge trees and I read about them all the time in books. I wanted to visit but Kaa-chan and Tou-san won't let me!"

"Well, it's very green. The trees are bigger than they say in the books, and the leaves are the most vibrant shade of green in the world. It gets dreadfully hot in the summer months. It's a big place. There's a mountain with faces carved into it for each of Konoha's kage. And unlike here it doesn't rain much until the winter."

"It's quite a nice climate. It brings back fond memories," Karin stated.

"You've been to Konoha?"

She nodded. "Mhm. For the Chunin Exams. We were actually competing the same year."

Naruto's eyes blinked, staring hard at the woman. She laughed.

"It's fine if you don't remember. I didn't make it beyond the Forest of Death! We never got the chance to interact. I only remember you because you yelled out so loudly in the first exam at the proctor."

Naruto blushed, remembering back when he challenged Ibiki in front of a room full of shinobi, domestic and foreign. He rubbed the back of his head.

"Not my proudest moment..."

"I think you should be proud of it," Karin stated, her face pensive. "You inspired me back there. Imagine that. A Kusa shinobi being inspired by the man who would eventually lead the conquer of her own country."

Naruto's eyes widened, horror filling his eyes. He felt his stomach drop. She was...had he...

Karin smiled, shaking her head.

"Don't worry. You didn't kill any Uzumaki. My parents were long dead before the war began."

"I see...that's a relief. Still, I must apologize for leading Konoha's annexation of your country. It-"

"No love lost on my end. I hated Kusa. They were abusive. You leading Konoha's war effort there helped give me the ability to escape. And if I had never done that, I wouldn't have met Kamino here and gotten pregnant. So, I think we're fair and square."

"I must agree," Kamino stated. "Your war...albiet crass, led to me meeting the love of my life. I have no words to express how much I appreciate that."

Naruto smiled, appreciating their words.

"So you're a war hero to Konoha," Ashino stated curiously. "Are you here to lead a war effort against Ame? Cause my dad is super strong."

Naruto blanched. Karin and Kamino chuckled at the insinuation, but Ashino had the biggest grin on his face.

"No Naruto is here as a guest Ashino," Nagato stated, ruffling his son's hair. "I invited him here myself. Besides, I wouldn't underestimate your uncle too much. He's plenty powerful himself."

Naruto looked at the man, looking him up and down. Nagato had effortlessly dispelled his assault earlier. All by raising a hand. No, Naruto knew for a fact that Nagato was stronger than he was. By a large amount. Kisame's words didn't seem like hyperbole any longer.

"As for me," Fuka interjected, clearly feeling somewhat left out from the conversation. "I was alive when Uzushio was. I grew up there. When Kiri and Kumo invaded at the very end of the Second Shinobi World War...it was a horrible sight. I thought I would die. I was young when it happened. The older shinobi tried to protect us but...we were overwhelmed. My mother...she forced me to flee. I became something of a bounty hunter, starting with low-level non-shinobi targets. I trained to master my skills. Went back to Uzushio to try and scavenge what I could...but there wasn't much. I met Nagato in my late teens. He was the one who trained me, helped me become a powerful kunoichi."

"You...you've seen Uzushio."

"In her prime and her current state. I'll bring you sometime. It's...not a pleasant sight but I think all Uzumaki should see it. It's where our heritage is. Our clan hails from."

"How did all of you survive? I thought I was the last Uzumaki Clan member alive."

"Some of our family left before the invasion, like Nagato's parents. Others survived the invasion, like myself and Karin's parents."

"These are all the Uzumaki Clan members we've found so far," Nagato stated. "We're hoping there are more out there."

"I see..." the blonde was quiet for a moment before a smile came to his face. The look of happiness was mirrored on every other Uzumaki's face, although Ashino looked around confused.

"How long are you gonna stay here ojisan? I wanna show you around Ame! And you gotta show me all your cool wind jutsu!"

The group looked at Naruto expectantly. The blonde felt conflicted. He had not expected to stay. He had only come to Ame to drop off Kisame. He was planning to go to Sunagakure. Investigate what he killed Hiruzen. And he did feel obligated to do so. The man was as close to him as family. He had taken him in. Raised him as if he was his own son. Taught him the ways of a shinobi. How to think. How to fight. How to be a man. It felt...wrong to not know what the cause of his death was, especially because he was not there to comfort his family who had played just as big a role in raising him at the man's funeral.

But in front of him was his blood family. Family he didn't think existed. Family he had always wished for. Could he truly walk away from the chance to get to know the last bit of family he may have in the world? Did he want that? Would Hiruzen have wanted that?

Ashino stared at the man.

"Yeah..." Naruto muttered. "I think I'll stay for a bit."

Ashino cheered. The food relaxed and everyone continued to eat. When they finished Kamino stood and gathered everyone's plates. He quickly approached the sink, beginning to wash them. The group began to disperse, Ashino running off somewhere. Nagato and Fuka followed after their son while Karin went upstairs. Naruto approached Kamino, attempting to assist in the process.

"It's quite alright," Kamino interjected as the blonde's hands reached forwards. "I have to contribute to the household somehow."

Naruto frowned. "You know just because you aren't Uzumaki..."

"It's not that," Kamino stated, a soft smile on his face. "Everyone in the house is a shinobi. Even little Ashino is being trained by his parents. But I don't have the aptitude for it. Not enough chakra. A regular civilian. Everyone here took me in. Karin's saved my life more times than I can count. Nagato keeps the country safe, and Fuka keeps Nagato's mind safe. They've done so much for me. This is the least I could do for all of them."

"Well, I haven't done anything for you, so at least let me help."

"You're a dense one, aren't you?"

Naruto blinked. "Huh?"

"I already said you helped in bringing me Karin. Besides, I have a feeling you'll be helping me quite a bit in the future."

Naruto frowned, but nodded, nonetheless.

"Where are you from Kamino?"

"Me? I'm from one of the small villages near the border of Kusa. You've probably never heard of it. I was raised by farmers. That's really all there is to me. I'm no unique character like Karin or Fuka."

"I see..."

"Please. Go rest. I can handle this. I promise."

Naruto nodded, leaving the man to his thoughts. He walked outside, a smile on his face. He quickly leapt onto the roof of the house. He sat there, looking up at the sky as the day winded down. He sat there for a long time. So long he had lost track of the time. Before he realized it the moon shined in the sky, its light descending upon the city of Amegakure like divine light. He stared into the night; his eyes soft. He had family again. It was hard to believe. Almost to good to be true. This world that had taken everything from him had left him with one thing. One last thing he could call his own. For the first time in a long time, hope began to fill his heart again. So preoccupied with his thoughts that the blonde did not hear the footsteps approaching him.

"Come here to think?"

Naruto looked upwards, seeing Nagato there smiling.

"May I sit?"

Naruto nodded.

The two Uzumaki men sat next to each other, staring out into the space of Amegakure. Silence rested between the two, a comfortable silence. It was Naruto who broke it.

"This isn't a genjutsu right," Naruto muttered. He looked at Nagato, the man looking back at him. "Because if it is I swear there is absolutely nothing and no one in this world that could stop me from murdering you for it. Even if you were actually Uzumaki."

Nagato smiled.

"I would never. I've heard what you've been through. Everything here is real."

Naruto smiled, and before he knew it tears fell from his eyes. Not the singular tear from before, but he genuinely began to cry. His body didn't shudder, no noises left his mouth, but he cried nonetheless with the largest smile on his face. Nagato smiled at the sight.

"I hope you'll forgive me for not mentioning them to you earlier."

"Don't worry about it," Naruto stated. "I only wish I could show this place to Tsunade. She would love it."

"Ah, a Senju...our distant relatives. I would very much like to meet her again. I remember her being quite kind when we were children from the few interactions we had."

"Kind's a word," Naruto stated, chuckling. "You've got a good thing going here you know? A village that loves you. Family. It's nice."

"You can have it too you know."

Naruto laughed a listless laugh. A pained one.

"I'm a broken man Nagato. My wife and child are dead. My godfather and the man who raised me as his own son are dead. I don't even know how to live in peace. How to protect, like you want. I've failed at it my entire life. I'm someone designed to kill. And that isn't someone that belongs here."

"And who's to say you cannot change?"

Naruto glanced back at Nagato, feeling a strange sensation. Those words...those were the words that Makino had said to him. To go out...to change. To stop being a dead man. He had said he would try with such conviction then...

"We are not stagnant beings cousin. We can change. Evolve. Grow. That is my hope for this shinobi world. That is my hope for you as well. You do not need to simply be Naruto, the shinobi, the war hero, the Jinchuriki, the traitor. Instead, you can be Naruto, the uncle, the cousin, the protector."

"I...I don't know if I can."

Nagato smiled. "No one does until they try. That's the beauty of this world Naruto. But Jiraiya-sensei believed it was possible, and I do as well."

Nagato turned to look directly at his cousin, reaching out his hand.

"So as for my last goal cousin. Will you stay in the village here with us? And strive with us...to change? To fight not to kill. But to protect."

Naruto stared at the hand. It was an offer he never thought he would get. An offer he didn't think he deserved to get. He had killed countless people in his life. He had suffered so many tragedies. Someone like him was meant to lie down, accept the world as it was, and die some shitty death in a battle. And yet the opportunity of a lifetime stood in front of him. And all he had to do was reach out and accept it.

Naruto hesitated. He looked up, his eyes meeting Nagato's concentric ones. The men stared into each other's, each trying to gauge how the other felt. Trying to reach understanding. Slowly, surely, Naruto reached out his hand and clasped Nagato's own hand in a handshake. Understanding was met.

"Yes, yes I think I will...cousin."

Nagato smiled.
