After defeating Ein and snagging all of the Shadow Pokémon there, including Raikou, Wes and Rui have confessed their feelings for one another and became an official couple.
Wes and Rui have arrived into the Under through an elevator outside of Pyrite Town, so they came to Nett's house.
"Wes, Rui! Did you go to the lab? Are you okay?" Megg asked.
"Yeah, we're fine," Wes said.
"I'm so glad! That's my hero! You're so inspiring!" Megg said.
Wes and Rui went to Nett's room.
"Oh, Wes. How did it go? Did you find any data?" Nett asked.
"I found this tablet. It should contain the data you need on it," Wes said, handing it to him. Nett takes it.
"Oh, now this looks interesting! Let's scope it out right away!" Nett said as he plugged the tablet in his computer and analyzed the data. "Oh, hey! This data tablet appears to contain a list of Shadow Pokémon that have been made so far!"
"Does it tell us how many are left?" Rui asked.
"No. It looks like they've wiped the data," Nett said.
"It probably had something they don't want anyone to know," Wes said.
"I agree. Why else would they wipe it out?" Nett asked.
"Is there a way to get it back?" Rui asked.
"Don't worry, you're gonna have to leave it to me. I'll do what I can to retrieve the data even if it means going over it little by little," Nett said.
"Do what you can, Nett. We know you can do it," Wes said. Nett smiled at that.
"I'm glad you have faith in me, Wes. As soon as I find anything, I'll email your PStarDA," Nett said.
With that said, Wes and Rui took their leave of the Under. They arrived back to Agate Village and headed for the Relic Stone with all of the Shadow Pokémon they recently snagged. Once the Shadow Pokémon were out of the Pokéballs, Wes gave one toot of the Time Flute and summoned Celebi. Celebi was able to purify the Shadow Pokémon and regained their old memories. Vibrava then began to evolve into a Flygon.
"Well, that takes care of that," Wes said. He retrieved an email from Nett on his PStarDA. "That didn't take nearly as long as I thought." He took a look at the email and reads it.
Wes,
I don't know how I did it, but I managed to recover the data in a single swoop! I need you and Rui to come back to the Under right away!
"It looks like we're need at the Under," Wes said.
"Then, we should hear what he has to say," Rui said.
"You're right, we go," Wes agreed with his girlfriend. "Let's go."
Wes and Rui headed back to the Under and right to Nett's house as quickly as they could get there. They met up with Nett and Megg sitting at the table.
"Wes, Rui, I'm glad you got here," Nett said.
"We got here as soon as we got your email, Nett," Rui said.
"What did you find out?" Wes asked.
"You may want to sit down because it may take a while," Nett said. The couple sat down as Nett cleared his throat. "Okay, here's what I got so far. The Shadow Pokémon project actually started at least several years ago."
"It's dated that far back?" Rui asked.
"Yeah. From what I could tell, they attempted to create Shadow Pokémon before, but they never managed to have full control over the Pokémon, and they would go totally berserk, and they would turn into monsters as a side-effect," Nett said. Wes and Rui looked at each other. They knew this screams Heartless. "But they kept on trying again and again until they managed to get it right."
"Is there anything else we should know about?" Wes asked.
"Yeah, there is. When the Shadow Pokémon began to use attacks like Shadow Rush, Shadow Blitz, and Shadow Break, the creators of the first Shadow Pokémon knew known of those moves were listed on the list of Pokémon moves, so they named them and determined what each one of them could do. But since wild Pokémon cannot be found in the Orre region, they decided to use Pokémon that originated from the Johto and Hoenn regions first, but then they decided to try Pokémon from other regions like Kanto, Unova, or Paldea," Nett said.
"We actually saw those Pokémon at the lab, and we freed them," Rui said.
"That's good. According to the data, there happen to be a grand total of 48 Shadow Pokémon, so you managed to snag and purify 45 of those Pokémon. From what I can gather, there are only 3 Shadow Pokémon left," Nett said.
"45 out of 48. If we hadn't saved those Pokémon, we would have more Shadow Pokémon to deal with," Rui said.
"Good thing we did. Anyway, is there any way to identify the final 3?" Wes asked.
"No. Because the list ends after 45. The data said something about an ultimate Shadow Pokémon, but I have no idea what it is," Nett said.
"I guess it would have been too easy anyway," Wes said.
"I'm sorry I couldn't get a complete list for you, Wes," Nett said.
"Don't worry about it. You did everything you could," Wes said. Nett smiled, feeling better.
"Thanks a lot, but I have an idea on where Team Shadow is located," Nett said.
"Really? You do?" Rui asked.
"Yeah. They should be at a place called Realgam Tower, not too far from here," Nett said.
"Realgam Tower?" Wes asked.
"Uh-huh. In fact, that's what was under construction for a while. The data was referencing it a lot. It didn't say when construction would be completed," Nett said.
"You don't think that's what was being built when we found that gear Silva took, is it?" Rui asked.
"I beginning to think it is. If Team Shadow is using it as their base, then we'll have to storm the place and bring them down in their own home," Wes said.
"The data also mentioned that there's a colosseum on the very top of the tower," Nett said.
"Maybe, that's where the head of Team Shadow will be," Rui said.
"And he's very likely to be waiting for me. If he wants to challenge me to a battle up on the colosseum, then he isn't going to be disappointed," Wes said.
"Before you go, you better take this," Nett said, handing Wes a Master Ball.
"I never seen this Pokéball before. What is it?" Wes asked.
"It's a Master Ball. It's a very rare Pokéball, so not many Trainers has one of those. I know someone who worked in the Sylph Company in Kanto working on it," Nett said.
"Why would I need this?" Wes asked.
"The Master Ball can catch any Pokémon without fail. So, I advise you to use the Master Ball only when you need it. Because it's the only one I got," Nett said.
"I think we're definitely going to be needing it. It'll be snagging the ultimate Shadow Pokémon Ein mentioned before," Wes said.
"With their ultimate weapon snagged, then Team Shadow is finished," Rui said.
"Yes, and we can beat them once and for all," Wes said. He turned to Nett. "Thanks for the Master Ball."
"No problem," Nett said.
Wes and Rui returned to Wes's ride and headed for the Realgam Tower. Upon arriving, they saw how elegant it looked. There were two podiums, each with a glass Sudowoodo statue. They were spinning around slowly. They approached the door to be greeted by two men wearing black suits and sunglasses.
"Hello! Welcome to Realgam Tower. Today is our opening day," one of the men said.
"We've been expecting you. Now, please, do go in," the other man said. They enter inside it. The first man took out his radio.
"Master Nascour, Wes and his female accomplice have just arrived. They just entered the building," the first man said.
"Good. Make certain they find they find their way around. And weaken them a bit before they reach the colosseum," Nascour ordered.
"Yes, Master Nascour," the first man said.
Unknown to them, Looker has made it in the tower, still under his disguise.
"This is Looker. I'm in. Today is the day we pull the plug on Team Shadow's operations. Stand by," Looker whispered.
"Good work, Looker. Just give the signal whenever you're ready," a voice said.
"Roger. I won't be sending further communications until then," Looker said.
"Understood," the voice said.
"I'm breaking contact," Looker said.
Wes and Rui stepped through the door and saw three doors ahead of them. One on the left, one on the right, and one straight ahead. Upon entering Wes picked up something.
"That's weird," Wes said.
"What?" Rui asked.
"I could have sworn I just felt something in the air just now," Wes said.
"Are you getting cold? This area is pretty much air conditioned," Rui said.
"No, it's not that. I think I just felt something or rather someone here. I don't know if there's a right or wrong way to explain it," Wes said.
"Do you think you're starting to have the same ability as me?" Rui asked.
"I don't know. But here's what I do know... We'll have to deal with whoever is around here," Wes said. Rui agreed with Wes. "We should check out that door up ahead first."
With that said, Wes and Rui entered the door straight ahead of them and found an elderly man in the room, like he as waiting for them.
"Oh, having trouble, are we? Perhaps you're lost in the expanse of this building?" The elderly man asked.
"Uh, you can say that," Wes said, finding him suspicious.
"Ah, then I shall be happy to take you. Oh, where am I going to take you?" The elderly man asked as he chuckled. "Well, since you ask, you deserve a reply." He removed his disguise to reveal himself. "It's to your doom!"
"I think not!" Wes said. The Team Shadow peon took out two Pokéballs and threw them.
"Grimer, Muk! Go!" The Team Shadow peon called out as a Grimer and a Dustox emerged from inside at the same time. Wes took out two Pokéballs and threw them.
"Espeon, Umbreon! Go!" Wes called out. Both Pokémon emerged from inside to battle.
"Dustox! Use Silver Wind on Espeon! Grimer! Sludge Wave!" The Team Shadow peon ordered. Dustox unleashed a Silver Wind at Espeon while Grimer unleashed Sludge Wave.
"Espeon! Use Psychic to block Silver Wind!" Wes ordered. Espeon uses Psychic to use Sludge Wave as a shield against Dustox's Silver Wind. "Now, Umbreon! Use Dark Pulse!" Umbreon unleashed Dark Pulse at Dustox, dealing some heavy damage.
"Grimer! Use Body Slam! Dustox! Use Double-Edge!" The Team Shadow peon ordered.
"Use Psychic on Grimer! Crunch on Umbreon!" Wes ordered. Umbreon lands a Crunch on Dustox while Espeon uses Psychic on Grimer, resulting in a knockout. The Team Shadow peon called his Grimer back and he took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Seviper! Go!" The Team Shadow peon called out and a Seviper emerged from inside. "Seviper! Use Iron Tail on Umbreon!" Seviper moved in to deliver an Iron Tail on Umbreon.
"Psybeam on Seviper!" Wes ordered. Espeon fired Psybeam at the Fang Snake Pokémon, dealing heavy damage. "Umbreon! Feint Attack on Dustox!" Umbreon vanishes and reappeared to land a hit with Feint Attack, resulting in a knockout.
"Seviper! Poison Fang!" The Team Shadow peon ordered. Seviper comes at Espeon with a Poison Fang.
"Psychic!" Wes ordered. Espeon uses Psychic on Seviper and sends it flying and hits the wall.
"Gah! So, this is it!" The Team Shadow peon said as he called back his Seviper and fled.
"You two did great as always," Wes said, calling back Espeon and Umbreon.
"Wes, I think we're going to need more than Umbreon and Espeon to battle our way around here," Rui said.
"You might be right, Rui. You'll never know who else you might bump into it," Wes said, taking out his Pokémon Box and has Sudowoodo, Gligar, Noctowl, and Qwilfish. Wes and Rui head for the door they entered through and took the one on the left west upon entry. They rode the platform to get there and they saw Miror B standing in the middle of the room. He chuckled.
"You've kept me hanging around, Wes. You ruined things in Pyrite for us, and snagged my beloved Shadow Sudowoodo from me. I've never felt so insulted in my whole life. But, you know, we're not about to lose over and over to you. This time, I'll win. And I mean it this time," Miror B said.
"You tried to beat me before, and I beat you once, and I know I'll do it again, Miror B," Wes said. He chuckled.
"Is that right? Normally, I would let the music play, but I'm saving my dance for after I have my revenge on you! Let's battle!" Miror B said, taking out two of his Pokéballs and threw them. "Come out, my darling Ludicolo!" The two Pokéballs opened to reveal two of his Ludicolo, one a male and one a female. Wes took out two of his Pokéballs and threw them.
"Qwilfish, Noctowl! Go!" Wes called out.
"Ice Beam on Noctowl! Energy Ball on Qwilfish!" Miror B ordered. The female Ludicolo fired Ice Beam while the male Ludicolo threw an Energy Ball.
"Noctowl! Use Fly to dodge! Qwilfish! Minimize!" Wes ordered. Qwilfish shrinks while Noctowl flew upwards.
"Rain Dance!" Miror B ordered. Both Ludicolo danced and they summoned a rain cloud, making it rain all over.
"I know what he's up to. One of these Ludicolo has Swift Swim while the other has Rain Dish. Pokémon with Swift Swim as ability has their speed up while Pokémon with Rain Dish as an ability recovers stamina," Wes said in his thoughts. Noctowl comes down at one of the Ludicolo.
"Dodge it!" Miror B called out. The female Ludicolo dodges Noctowl's Fly. "Leech Seed!" The male Ludicolo unleashed a Leech Seed and planted itself on the Owl Pokémon.
"Noctowl's been seeded!" Rui gasped.
"Qwilfish! Use Sludge Wave!" Wes ordered. Qwilfish spewed a Sludge Wave, poisoning both Ludicolo. The male Ludicolo recovered a bit from Rain Dish and from sapping energy from Noctowl, but hurt by Qwilfish's poisoning. "Noctowl! Use Aerial Ace on the one on the right!" Noctowl flew at the male Ludicolo and knocked it out. He called back his Ludicolo. "Qwilfish! Use Barb Barrage!" Qwilfish fired poisonous pins from its barbs. This earns another knock out, much to Miror B's dismay. He called her back. "Bring out as many Ludicolo as you want! My Noctowl and Qwilfish can take them!"
"Who says I only have Ludicolo?" Miror asked as he called his fallen Ludicolo back and took out two more and threw them. "Golduck, Loudred! Go!" A Golduck and Loudred came out at once.
"So, a Ludicolo team not working for you, Miror B?" Wes asked.
"I love my Ludicolo, but I just don't want my other three to be hurt by you again. So, I changed it up with Pokémon with the right groove. Ludicolo, Golduck, let's show them what I mean, shall we, babies? Use Psychic on Noctowl!" Golduck uses Psychic on Noctowl and sends it back. "Loudred! Boomburst!" Loudred unleashed a loud booming sound from its ears, hitting Noctowl, knocking it out. Wes called back Noctowl. The rain stopped. "Who was that?"
"The battle isn't over yet," Wes said, taking out his Great Ball and threw it. "Sudowoodo! Go!" His Great Ball opened and out came Sudowoodo, much to Miror B's shock.
"My old Sudowoodo! Ooh, you made a mistake sending Sudowoodo to fight against me! Nobody rubs salt on my wounds and walks! Nobody! Loudred! Use Shadow Ball! Golduck! Use Hydro Pump on Sudowoodo!"
"Qwilfish! Help Sudowoodo! Use Surf! Sudowoodo! Ride on Qwilfish!" Wes called out. Sudowoodo jumped on Qwilfish after returning to its normal size. Sudowoodo rode on Qwilfish like a surfboard and came down hard on Loudred and Golduck. "Barb Barrage!" Qwilfish fired Barb Barrage, hitting the both of them, resulting a double knockout. Sudowoodo got off of Qwilfish. Miror B called back his two Pokémon and took out another Pokéball and held it.
"Okay, your groove has improved since the last time we saw each other, but here's the one who filled in Sudowoodo's spot in my team!" Miror B said. He threw his Pokéball. "Armaldo! Go!" His Pokéball opened and an Armaldo emerged from inside. "Armaldo, my darling, make papa proud. Use Rock Slide!" Armaldo unleashed Rock Slide.
"Dodge it!" Wes called out. Sudowoodo managed to avoid Armaldo's Rock Slide, but Qwilfish wasn't so fortunate since it was hit by the rocks.
"Aerial Ace on Qwilfish!" Miror B ordered. Armaldo dashed at the Balloon Pokémon, finishing it off. Wes called Qwilfish back.
"Better send in Gligar," Wes said, taking out Gligar's Pokéball and threw it. "You're up, Gligar!" His Pokéball opened and Gligar came out to battle.
"Armaldo! Use Slash on Sudowoodo!" Miror B ordered. Armaldo started to come for Sudowoodo.
"Okay, Gligar! Use Crabhammer!" Wes ordered. Gligar came at Armaldo and lands a hit with Crabhammer. "Sudowoodo! Use Rock Slide!" Sudowoodo sends out a Rock Slide and struck Armaldo. "Wood Hammer and Crabhammer!" Sudowoodo and Gligar combined their efforts and they each land a hit on the Plate Pokémon, knocking it out. Miror B called back Armaldo.
"I'm an awesome dancer... But I can't win in battles!" Miror B exclaimed. Wes called back Sudowoodo and Gligar. "This won't do! But I'll admit you've beaten me thoroughly."
"Yeah, with a Pokémon you used to have," Wes said.
"Okay, since I'm done, I'll give you this. Here!" Miror B said, handing Wes a red ID badge.
"What's this?" Wes asked.
"Just think of it as a little gift from our great leader Nascour. Don't leave without it, because you'll get nowhere. But, you know, maybe it'd be for your own good if you didn't go in," Miror B said as he laughed. He took his leave through the floor.
"I never thought we would see Miror B here of all places. You don't think Dakim, Ein, and Venus are also here, are they?" Rui asked.
"It's very likely. If Miror B is here, then they should be here, too," Wes said as he took out his Pokémon Box and exchanged Gligar, Sudowoodo, Noctowl, and Qwilfish for Entei, Flygon, Tropius, and Ledian. They exited out of Miror B's area and back to their point of entry and to the right. They rode to another platform and went north and rode another one. And there, they saw Dakim. "I knew it." Dakim laughed.
"Your luck ran out when you showed up before me! Your stab at your adventure has gone on far enough!" Dakim said.
"We're gonna see about that," Wes said. Dakim took out two of his Pokéballs and threw them. "Claydol, Forretress! Go!" His two Pokémon came out to battle. Wes took out two of his own and threw them.
"Flygon and Ledian! Go!" Wes called out. Flygon and Ledian emerged from inside, ready to battle. Dakim growled.
"Damn! My strategy to go against him was to use Earthquake against his weak Pokémon. No matter," Dakim said in his thoughts. He ordered, "Gyro Spin, Forretress! Claydol! Sunny Day!" Claydol builds up a bright sunlight as Forretress spins right at Ledian.
"Okay, Ledian! Use Mach Punch on Forretress! Flygon! Dragon Breath on Claydol!" Wes ordered. Ledian flew and landed a Mach Punch onto Forretress while Flygon spewed Dragon Breath at Claydol, paralyzing it.
"Solar Beam!" Dakim ordered. Claydol fired Solar Beam right away due to Sunny Day.
"Dodge it, Flygon!" Wes called out. Flygon flew around to dodge Claydol's Solar Beam. "Ledian! Use Bug Buzz!" Ledian creates vibrant waves by flapping its wings, hitting Claydol.
"Flash Cannon!" Dakim ordered. Forretress fired a Flash Cannon at Ledian.
"Dodge and use Mach Punch!" Wes ordered. Ledian dodges Forretress's Flash Cannon and lands another Mach Punch. "Use Air Slash!" Ledian unleashed an Air Slash at Forretress.
"Protect!" Dakim ordered. Forretress forms a protective barrier, blocking Ledian's Air Slash.
"Use Psychic!" Dakim ordered. Claydol uses Psychic on Flygon. "Solar Beam!" Claydol fired Solar Beam at Flygon.
"Dodge and use Dragon Claw!" Wes ordered. Flygon dodges Claydol's Solar Beam and slashed Claydol with Dragon Claw. "Dragon Claw again, but aim it at Forretress! Ledian! Bug Buzz on Claydol!" Ledian gave Claydol another blast from Bug Buzz while Flygon gave Forretress a slash with Dragon Claw. Both of Dakim's Pokémon had been taken down. Dakim called his fallen Pokémon back and took out two more and threw them.
"Whishcash, Flygon! Go!" Dakim called out. His Whishcash and Flygon emerged from inside. He took out a Great Ball and an Ultra Ball and threw them.
"Entei and Tropius! Go!" Wes called out. Entei and Tropius emerged from inside. Dakim was shocked to see Entei again.
"My old Entei. How can this be?" Wes asked.
"I figured you would be surprised. Entei isn't too fond of seeing you again," Wes said.
"Well, I'll have to thank you for sending out Entei, because I'm now free to use all the Earthquakes I want! Whishcash! Protect! Flygon! Earthquake!" Whishcash creates a protective barrier while Flygon slammed on the ground. Entei jumped out of the way of Flygon's Earthquake.
"Sacred Fire on Flygon! Magical Leaf on Whishcash!" Wes ordered. Tropius fired Magical Leaf on Whishcash as soon as Protect fades and Entei unleashed Sacred Fire, hitting Flygon. The Mystic Pokémon ends up being burned. "Magical Leaf again, Tropius! Flamethrower on Flygon!" Tropius unleashed another Magical Leaf, hitting Whishcash as Entei fired Flamethrower, hitting Flygon. Whishcash was knocked out by Tropius's Magical Leaf. Dakim took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Houndoom! Go!" Dakim called out. Houndoom emerged from inside, ready to battle. "Fire Blast on Tropius!" Houndoom fired a Fire Blast and sends it right at Tropius.
"Sacred Fire, Entei!" Wes ordered. Entei unleashed Sacred Fire to block Houndoom's attack. "Use Sacred Fire again! Tropius! Magical Leaf!" Entei unleashed Sacred Fire at Houndoom as Tropius struck Flygon with Magical Leaf. Flygon was down and out while Houndoom was still standing. "Now, Fire Fang!" Entei lands a Fire Fang onto Houndoom, resulting in a knockout. Dakim growled in anger as he called back his two Pokémon.
"Gwah! Why'd I lose to this punk?!" Dakim exclaimed. "In all the time I've been battling, my losses came at the hands of Master Nascour and you," Dakim said.
"I thought I couldn't have been the only one," Wes said.
"Now, take this. It's your passport to terror and despair," Dakim said, handing Wes a green ID card. "If you're thinking of turning back, now's the time to do it. Go on home to mommy!" Dakim laughed as he goes down the floor. Wes and Rui analyzed the card.
"It's kinda like the one Miror B gave you before," Rui said.
"And I have a feeling we'll need a bit more of these," Wes said.
With that said, Wes exchanged Entei, Flygon, Ledian, and Tropius for Suicune, Miltank, Ampharos, and Jumpluff. They went through one door and platform and to another where right to when they saw two Team Shadow peons.
"Are you looking to get past this door?" A female Team Shadow peon asked.
"What's it to you?" Wes asked.
"That kind of response only tells me the daredevil in you," the female Team Shadow peon said, taking out two Pokéballs and threw them. "Jumpluff, Gloom! Go!" Her Pokéballs opened and her two Pokémon emerged from inside. Wes took out two Pokéballs and threw them.
"Espeon, Umbreon! Go!" Wes called out.
"Jumpluff! Sunny Day! Gloom! Solar Beam!" The female Team Shadow peon ordered. Jumpluff unleashed a Sunny Day as Gloom fired Solar Beam right off the bat.
"Dodge it!" Wes called out. Espeon and Umbreon dodged their moves just by jumping. "Umbreon! Use Dark Pulse on Jumpluff! Espeon! Psybeam on Gloom!" Umbreon fired Dark Pulse on Jumpluff as Espeon fired Psybeam on Gloom. Due to its weakness to Psychic-type attacks, Gloom has taken some heavy damage.
"Gloom! Magical Leaf! Jumpluff! Energy Ball!" The female Team Shadow peon ordered. Jumpluff fired Energy Ball at Umbreon while Gloom fired Magical Leaf. Both Eeveelutions were struck by Magical Leaf as Umbreon was struck by Energy Ball. "Again!"
"Espeon! Use Psychic on Gloom!" Wes ordered. Espeon uses Psychic on Gloom and sends the Weed Pokémon to the opposite wall. "Umbreon! Feint Attack!" Umbreon vanished and reappeared to land a hit on Jumpluff, resulting in a knockout. "You've lost."
"Huh? What do you mean I lost? Why?!" The female Team Shadow peon asked. She ran off.
"You may have knocked her out of the way, but it doesn't mean you'll do the same with me!" The male Team Shadow peon said, taking out his two Pokéballs and threw them. "Piloswine, Glalie! Go!" His Pokéballs opened and both Ice-type Pokémon came out to battle. "Ice Fang, the both of you!" Piloswine and Glalie rushed at Espeon and Umbreon.
"Dodge and use Psychic Fangs and Crunch!" Wes ordered. Espeon and Umbreon dodged their opponents' double Ice Fang and land a Psychic Fangs and Crunch. Espeon lands a Psychic Fangs on Piloswine while Umbreon lands a Crunch on Glalie.
"Blizzard!" The male Team Shadow peon ordered. Both Ice-type Pokémon fired Blizzard at their opponents.
"Espeon! Use Psychic to block!" Wes ordered. Espeon uses Psychic to block the double Blizzard. "Dark Pulse!" Umbreon unleashed Dark Pulse, hitting Glalie first. Umbreon then fired Dark Pulse at Piloswine, hitting it. Both Pokémon were taken down.
"Uwaaah! I shouldn't have battled!" The male Team Shadow peon exclaimed before he ran away.
"That takes care of them," Wes said, calling Espeon and Umbreon back.
"Now that leaves the other two doors," Rui said.
"Yeah, and we're heading that way first," Wes said, pointing to the left. Wes and Rui went through the door and rode the platform. And inside was Venus.
"Oh, well if it isn't that darling boy and girl. What kept you so long?" Venus sarcastically asked in a playful expression.
"Just had to get your thugs out of the way," Wes said.
"And it led us right to you," Rui said.
"Well, I'm glad you made it here. I was getting rather tired of waiting. Now, say your goodbyes. This time, I really am going to be as serious as serious can be!" Venus said, taking out her two Pokéballs and threw them. "Bellossom, Mismagius! Go!" Her Pokéballs opened and a Bellossom and Mismagius emerged from inside. Wes took out an Ultra Ball and a Pokéball.
"Suicune, Ampharos! Go!" Wes called out. Both Pokémon came out to battle.
"So, you're using my Suicune against me, are you? This won't stand! Bellossom! Use Petal Blizzard! Mismagius! Use Shadow Ball on Ampharos!" Both Pokémon unleashed their attacks onto Suicune and Ampharos.
"Suicune! Use Rain Dance!" Wes ordered. It began to rain. "Ampharos! Thunder on Mismagius!" Ampharos unleashed Thunder, hitting Mismagius on the mark.
"No, no, no, this won't do! Bellosom! Use Stun Spore on Suicune!" Venus ordered.
"Ice Beam!" Wes ordered. Suicune fired Ice Beam, hitting Bellossom on the mark, knocking Bellosom out. "Ampharos! Thunder Punch!" Ampharos lands a Thunder Punch on Mismagius, resulting in a knockout. She called them both back and took out two more Pokéballs and threw them.
"Raichu, Wigglytuff! Go!" Venus called out. "Raichu! Thunder on Suicune! Wigglytuff! Hyper Beam on Ampharos!" Raichu unleashed Thunder, hitting Suicune on the mark as Wigglytuff fired Hyper Beam, not giving Ampharos time to dodge. "You think you're the only one who can use Rain Dance and Thunder? That's a game two can play!"
"Yeah, but you'll have to follow my rules," Wes said, calling back Ampharos and took out a Great Ball and threw it. "Miltank! Go!" His Great Ball opened and Miltank emerged from inside. "Miltank! Rollout!" Miltank curled into a ball and rolled right at Wigglytuff, dealing some damage. "Suicune! Use Hydro Pump on Raichu!" Suicune fired Hydro Pump on Raichu, knocking it out. Venus called Raichu back. She took out a Dive Ball.
"Well, you made me look bad even while off the air, but I'll fix you good for snagging my Suicune from me and making me bad in front of my camera crew. So, here's my gem... Milotic!" Her Dive Ball opened and her Milotic emerged from inside. "Wigglytuff! Use Flamethrower on Miltank!" Wigglytuff fired Flamethrower, but the Milk Cow Pokémon plowed through the flames and landed a hit. Wigglytuff was knocked out, so Venus called back her Raichu. Miltank was coming at Milotic. "Dragon Tail!" Milotic smacked Miltank, forcing back to her Pokéball, so Jumpluff emerged from inside.
"Jumpluff! Sleep Powder!" Wes ordered. Jumpluff sprinkled Sleep Powder on Milotic. Wes called back Suicune and took out Ampharos's Pokéball and threw it. "Ampharos! Go!" Ampharos came back out to battle. "Thunder!" Ampharos fired Thunder at Milotic, dealing heavy damage. "Energy Ball!" Jumpluff fired Energy Ball, hitting Milotic, knocking it out.
"Waaaaah! I don't want to do this anymore!" Venus cried, calling back her Milotic. Wes called back Jumpluff and Ampharos. "Me, lose again? My pride will not stand for it! Here, take this thing away! For that, I want your silence that this battle never happened!" Venus hands him a blue ID badge. "I shall forget that I ever battled with you. Yes, that's what I'll do." She laughed as she escapes through the floor.
"She hasn't changed," Rui said.
"Yeah, but there's one more to deal with," Wes said, taking out his Pokémon Box and exchanged Suicune, Jumpluff, Ampharos, and Miltank for Raikou, Ariados, Quagsire, and Granbull. They went back to the way they came and they went to the fourth door and there they saw Ein.
"You," Rui said.
"Well, well. So, you have come. Hand-in-hand like a happy couple on an aimless stroll. Well, let me inform you, this is no picnic. You will never defeat me with such a frivolous mind!" Ein said.
"Funny you should say that, because I remember defeating you," Wes said.
"Yes, you did defeat me, but you will not do it for a second time," Ein said, taking out two Pokéballs and threw them. "Crobat and Pelipper! Go!" His Pokéballs opened. Wes took out an Ultra Ball and a Pokéball and threw them both.
"Raikou, Ariados! Go!" Wes called out. Both Pokémon emerged from inside.
"Ah, you sent out Raikou against me, huh? I'm hardly surprised. I had a feeling you purified Raikou by now anyway. But even a legendary Pokémon cannot help you. Pelipper! Use Scald! Crobat! Cross Poison!" Pelipper spewed hot water from its bill as Crobat rushed at Raikou with Cross Poison.
"Thunder Fang on Crobat, Raikou! And Ariados! Use Toxic Thread!" Wes ordered. Ariados spewed Toxic Thread on Pelipper, poisoning the Water Bird Pokémon. Raikou came at Crobat and landed a Thunder Fang, taking down Crobat.
"Perhaps, I spoke too soon regarding my comment on legendary Pokémon. But I am not one who gives up that easily," Ein said, taking out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Rhyperior!" His Pokéball opened and a Rhyperior emerged from inside. It's common knowledge Raikou's Electric-type attacks has zero effect on Ground-type Pokémon like Rhyperior.
"Yeah, you're right," Wes said, calling back Raikou and took out another Pokéball and threw it. "Quagsire! Go!" His Pokéball opened and Quagsire emerged from inside. "Electric-type attacks won't hurt Rhyperior, but Water-type attacks can."
"Pelipper! Use Wing Attack on Ariados! Rhyperior! Dig!" Ein ordered. Rhyperior began to dig underground.
"I don't think so! Ariados! Jump! Quagsire! Earthquake!" Wes ordered. Ariados jumped out of the way just in time for Quagsire to deliver an Earthquake, dealing heavy damage from underground.
"Clever. You simply knew Rhyperior takes heavier damage from Earthquake whenever it uses Dig. Well-played," Ein said, calling back Rhyperior after emerging from underneath. He took out another Pokéball and threw it. "Starmie! Go forth!" His Pokéball opened and Starmie emerged from inside. Wes called back Quagsire and took out his Ultra Ball again and threw it. "Raikou! Go!"
"Pelipper! Use Wing Attack on Ariados!" Ein ordered. Pelipper flew right at the Long Leg Pokémon with Wing Attack.
"Ariados! Use Psychic!" Wes ordered. Ariados uses Psychic and sends Pelipper flying. Due to Pelipper's poisoning, Pelipper has been taken down. Ein called back his Pelipper and took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Manectric! Go!" Ein called out. His Pokéball opened and his Manectric came out. "Fair warning, before you consider using an Electric-type attack, you should know my Manectric's ability is Lightning Rod," Ein said.
"So Lightning Rod absorbs the Electric-type attack no matter which Pokémon I aim it at," Wes said.
"Yes. It appears someone has done his homework, but education will not help you. Starmie! Use Hydro Pump on Ariados!" Ein ordered. Starmie fired Hydro Pump at the spider-like Pokémon.
"Dodge it!" Wes called out. Ariados jumped to dodge it.
"Shock Wave!" Ein ordered. Manectric fired a Shock Wave at Ariados, hitting it. "Use Thunder Fang!" Manectric lands a Thunder Fang on Ariados, resulting in a knockout. Wes called back Ariados and took out a Great Ball and threw it.
"Go! Granbull!" Wes called out. Granbull emerged from inside, ready to battle. "Granbull! Crunch on Starmie!" Granbull rushed at Starmie, landing heavy damage. "Mega Punch!" Granbull lands a Mega Punch onto Starmie, resulting in a knockout. Wes called back Raikou and took out his Pokéball and threw it. "Quagsire! Go!" His Pokéball opened and Quagsire came back out to battle. "Use Mud Bomb!" Quagsire on Manectric.
"Dodge and use Thunder Fang on Granbull!" Ein ordered.
"Mega Punch on Manectric!" Wes ordered. Granbull lands a Mega Punch on Manectric. "Quagsire! Mud Bomb!" Quagsire fired Mud Bomb, hitting Manectric. "Play Rough!" Granbull came at Manectric and gave it a series of beatings before Manectric was sent flying. Manectric was defeated.
"Gwaah! He has improved since our last meeting?!" Ein exclaimed, calling back his Manectric. He growled. "It is a shame that you oppose us, Wes. Here, use this. Go on, open the door with it." He hands Wes a yellow ID badge.
"And what would I find beyond the doors?" Wes asked. Ein just chuckled.
"You think I would just tell you? Why should I tell you when you can just see for yourselves?" Ein asked as he made his escape through the floor.
"And this makes four ID badges," Rui said.
"Now to find that door it opens," Wes said. Before they could exit, Wes gets another email. He checks it.
"Who is it from?" Rui asked.
"It's your grandpa," Wes said. He reads it.

This is Eagun of Agate Village.

"You're right. Team Shadow has to be stopped before it's too late," Rui said.
Wes and Rui returned to their point of entry and saw four orbs, each being red, blue, yellow, and green.
"You don't think..." Wes said, placing the ID badges in the colored sections. "I knew it. We can now go through."
"I don't think so," a voice said. It turns out to be a Team Shadow peon. "You'll have to go through me first." He took out two Pokéballs and threw them. "Masquerain and Ariados! Go!" Both Ariados and Masquerain emerged from inside. Wes took out two of his Pokéballs and threw them.
"Espeon, Umbreon! Go!" Wes called out. Both Pokémon emerged from inside.
"Ariados! Use Bug Bite! Masquerain! Silver Wind!" The Team Shadow peon ordered.
"Psybeam and Dark Pulse!" Wes ordered. Espeon and Umbreon unleashed Psybeam and Dark Pulse, canceling out the Bug-type attacks and knocking both out at the same time.
"Nobody said a word about you being this tough!" The Team Shadow peon exclaimed, taking off.
This was only the first step compared to what was coming next, but what will Wes and Rui find inside? Find out as we near the final battle with the Shadow Pokémon.
