Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds: The Judgement of the World

A shot rang out sharp into the tunnel and filled its occupants with a new panic. Guns weren't legal in Japan still, who would be firing? Fubuki's expression became one of incredulous disbelief as he stared into the sky, eyes wide and mouth starting to hang open. Churning black clouds were producing lightning at increasing volume, while white stones were fired from those clouds with impossible numbers.

"Hail!" he announced semi wide eyed as he rushed back to join the group. "There's actual hail falling from the sky as big as my fist and just whipping down like it was flung! The sky is just churning clouds and lightning, there isn't even any 'rain' yet, just lightning and hail!"

Yet another shot, then another, the tunnel became awash in that same loud noise until the idea of talking appeared to be a challenge. He might as well lead the sound with him as quickly as it followed his footsteps.

"Who is empowering Blue Eyes? What's powering her up to this level?" Aki asked her gaze seeking out the shadows of their make shift shelter. The wind was moaning and whistling as it sped past their entryway. Outside the world was still likely still that unnatural white that made her ponder if the world would look like that on the day it suffered its natural heat death?

"Seto, the Storm god of Egypt and grandson of God. His is the Storm God, the cleanser of evil, if you could SENSE what I do. She's not destroying the orb, she's evaporating it." Black Rose explained. "She is not a priestess, but she is so close to a god she might as well 'be one'." Black Rose purred at Aki's side. "She is angry, and it is bringing Him here... Look at Black Luster..."

Aki examined the room only to find the spirit didn't join them, Yusei called for her to return to the safety of the tunnel as she moved forward. Witch following in her wake even if she had to fight a bit of the wind. The landscape outside was still so washed out that the Soldier stood out starkly like a dark obelisk, its face turned to the sky. So Aki knelt a bit down to get as much view of the sky as she could and Black Rose's tale began to prove itself true.

It was as Fubuki described, a churning mass of clouds whipped in lightning and flinging hail. A crack caused Aki to flinch as she looked at the ground so littered with hail stones that it looked like snow. Powered white as many shattered on impact and the chill rising from them was starting to chill her soul.

"Rocks... No, that's hail?" Witch shouted over the growing wind, she pointed and started using her magics to create orbs of black around the increasing number of rocks falling from the sky. "But its not cold enough! How are they even 'that' big? They could be as big as my head!"

"NOTHING can be as big as your head!" Jack roared from the back of the tunnel.

Though Crow could only give Jack the 'you are such a dumbass' look.

"No, but if a storm is severe enough it 'can' hail..." Aki explained as her gut twisted, sure it could hail, it could also have a tornado spawn right on top of them! She turned and grabbed Witch as she began her redescent into their little hub. "Yusei! Yusei! Its not just hailing outside! That's possibly divine sent hail!"

Everyone turned at the sentence in growing alarm, the girls huddling closer while Queen curled herself to Kazu to keep him warm. Ryo and Fubuki paled as Yusei began studying the structure above them.

"Superia, can you boost the protection this place affords us?" He asked and was relieved to see her nod. "Black Rose said that Blue Eyes is calling on Kaiba's power. That his 'power' manifests storms, and if its hailing, its possible a tornado could spawn on us."

"Exactly," Aki agreed as she worked her way further into the tunnel to them.

"What? What about Neo Domino? We're safe here, everyone else is in these buildings with hail hitting them and no idea that a tornado could spawn on them!" Jack barked as the back of his mind recounted Carly and the guy at a hospital.

Horror filled everyone as the nightmare possibilities began to play through their heads, windows shattering, the unsuspecting being sucked out.

"You worry too much, or perhaps you are wiser than you look," Panther Warrior replied, a flick of the tail to brush away the teens worries. "If it had been any other god that dealt with storms you'd have a problem. But Set was always a god of protection, this is to cleanse evil, so long as you worry for the safety of the city, it doesn't matter. Nothing about his storm is going to hurt them."

"Just... worry for the city and the city will be ok?" Momoe asked, her voice a whisper against the howling winds outside. Panther's nod sent her straight into a prayer, Junko held her hands and joined her, followed by Asuka and the others in her group.

"Pray for its safety," Panther elaborated as he saw the group starting to focus internally. "He 'is' a god and begrudgingly acknowledges prayers that want his attention."

'I'll let them handle this, its giving them something to focus outside of themselves.' Yusei decided. "I'm going to check outside, to see if the conditions are getting to tornado levels." He announced as he moved off.

"You got it," Crow replied as he felt someone stir next to him. Looking down he saw Judai's dazed expression as he tried to figure out where he was. "Please don't want a fight, we're trying to keep you alive if not for yourself your poor Heroes are heart broken that you got hurt," he began. Judai's eyes were unfocused but hearing about the Heroes... For a moment Crow saw regret and concern flicker across the guys' face.

"Save my Heroes... Please..." Judai groaned and grabbed at his head. "Yubel doesn't understand they'll make me... Save them..."

Crow glanced up at Jack and the big man was on his knees quickly. There was no rope but they had to prepare to hold the guy down. Groans could be of pain sure, given Judai's injury, but groans could also be a sign that Yubel was trying to reassert control 'over' him again!

"Not good," Devil Dice muttered into Fubuki's ear.

"No, it looks like the Heroes are trying to resume the fight in here." Angel squeaked in mounting alarm. "There isn't room enough in here!"

"Guys... GUYS!" Fubuki called out in warning as flames began to lick their small shelter.

"You have GOT to be 'kidding me!" Crow called out as he began to stand back up.

Jack saw the control Judai had regain snap away again, this glossy cruel light reignited in the guy and for a moment he felt pretty horrible for him. Judai wasn't Jack, he didn't have a raging ego that let him listen to some particularly bad advice for a time. He was a dumb guy who was being forced to do horrible things against his wishes. 'I have to live with being a dumb ass all on my own. This guy is going to come to and see what he did while under the control of his signature Spirit. Guy knows spirits exists and he's too weak to see them on his own. Now he's being controlled by one and he's too weak to stop it. Who did this guy upset in his past life?'

"Save his heroes? But how?" Ryu asked in the darkness. It wasn't full dark, thankfully several spirits could and had offered up various forms of light to help them see. Also 'unfortunately' the Heroes could see all of them too. The other spirits were being flummoxed by this as well, the Heroes had already several fused souls that were taking up 'more' space than they had.

The dragons hadn't been fully manifesting, though Black Rose's shadow was pretty obvious in the tunnel. But she rose up more like a mound and most of her body was missing. While the tunnel was large, it was also filled with fourteen other people huddled up and that wasn't counting duel spirits.

So Ryu focused on his deck and for a moment he wondered. He knew the cards, but would 'it' activate as well? It wasn't a monster it was a spell... 'If the cards are responding...' A gout of vivid red flames yanked his gaze back towards the tunnel where Elemental Hero Flame Wingman had both figuratively and literally opened fire. An ice barrier shot up into existence barely in time to stop them all from burning to a cinder.

"Man Japan was never this fun before," Zalinka muttered, as steam rose up from the contact of open flame on walls of ice.

"You're 'here' with your Ka out?" Ryu openly gaped as the momentary shame of realizing he neglected her presence until now humbled his vocabulary. While Zalinka stood there with Reveler at her side and holding her Ba up as Zalinka swayed.

"I saw this cat thing..."

Zalinka came back to her senses with a start as she saw that she was following this strange emaciated cat. It strolled out of the shadows and looked at her occasionally before walking off. It stopped after several steps and turned to look at her, when she staggered after it, it moved on again.

'Oh its leading me somewhere...' she mused and began following it.

"It lead me here and if my brain was working right I wouldn't have followed normally. But I just..." Zalinka floundered before spreading her arms to show the tunnel. "I ended up further in and the cat thing sat on my lap until I heard the gun shots..." She explained while looking down at the deck with Ryu then at the growing Mexican standoff happening further outward.

"A cat thing... I have a card in the deck... Bastest... your father said it was the Ka of his brother Rashid." Ryu pointed out with a sense of hope beginning to burn away the Vice President sense of responsibility and restore his more childlike excitement. "I know a card that can help... if it just is the next card!"

Zalinka blinked as she put her focus back on the group. Reveler was maintaining the shield but it was weird to just be 'this' aware of her surroundings 'and' have her out. How did everyone end up here? What was going on outside that they would seek shelter? Hell where was that loud noise coming from? It sounded like the waves of the ocean if the waves never stopped crashing...

Ryu took a deep breath and placed his hand on the deck. "The next card, the spell card 'Change of Heart'!"

Zalinka looked down and watched as he pulled the top card off the deck and examined it. The elation on his face could have seen from 'space'! Light from the flames were flickering off the corners of his eyes as tears formed while he studied the card before him.

From the ground a simple robed figure rose, one wing that of a white bird, the other of a bat. 'The deck is still activating for him!' she realized as the image that was shown on the card manifested.

"Change of Heart, change the hearts of the Hero Spirits, make them our allies!" Ryu ordered with outright excitement, while the twins tucked to the side for safety stared in awe.

"He's doing it. He's making that deck activate!" Ruka was in awe as she stood there, Ryu had no talent at 'all'. Yet he was calling the Spirits out!

Change of Heart floated forward, the young man's eyes ghosting over everyone before settling on the Heroes. Opening his wings he flew forward, through everyone yet it was the Heroes froze in shock. Then the spirits defused themselves as they slipped out of their aggressive postures and settled into a more normal stance.

"Its working!" Ryu's voice skipped over the lake of hail slamming into the ground.

"You going to fight?" Rua asked nervously from the shadow of Ryo with his sister a bit more bolder in her posture.

"Nooo? I... don't want to... I know Judai doesn't want this either so I... don't care?" Shadow Mist sounded absolutely baffled, looking down at their armor covered hands. "What type of power was that? You mean it though right? Judai isn't going to resent us for this?" The spirit looked over at Crow, their mostly featureless face with only its yellow eyes, though lacking iris' or anything else, still conveyed their fear.

"He wants us to save you!" Crow answered even as Judai started shrieking about the betrayal. "This isn't his doing, its probably not even Yubel's doing either, whatever they encountered... Just stand down its what Judai really wants in his heart!"

"That deck is amazing, that's Kaiba?" Kazu asked as he watched the new spirit linger in the air before fading away. "I wonder how long its going to last..."

"Well we're not fighting so in duel terms the battle phase is still 'going' the effect is going to just to keep going I suspect," Fubuki theorized as he stood there. "I mean is Blue Eyes considered 'ours' when she's taking orders from Kaiba?"

"True," Ryo agreed as he recalled what the spell card did. 'So long as no one picks up the fight against the Heroes...'

Ruka and Rua dashed over to Ryu in excitement, and surprise to see Zalinka here and aware though Reveler was near by still.

"That deck is amazing!" Rua noted, but his words were cut off as the rumbling of a train could be heard right at the tunnels' entrance.

Was Yusei ok? Wasn't he and Aki out there? Rua turned in alarm as he thought about their Big brother and Big sister. But even as the worry began he saw the pair hurry back to them, though they looked openly in awe of something.

"Tornado?" Ryo called over the steady grinding of wheels on rail that the children heard and was answered with a nod.

"Formed right outside! Not even moving just 'there'!" Aki answered before gesturing in a direction then swirling the air with the same hand.

"If its safe to move further in, we should the wind is tugging at us even from here!" Yusei instructed and soon everyone had moved back or gathered up Judai before moving out. Steps into the move the ground below them rolled hard, the thick cement tunnel they had taken safety in buckled up shattering under their feet and thrusting them up rapidly towards the unmoving upper half of the tunnel.

Among the hail storm, tornado and now the grinding of shattering cement and rolling earth several of the spirits were still able to hear the shrill screams of panic as everyone in the tunnel saw their lives flash before their eyes. Cement dust began churning into the air, choking those giving in to the natural desire to scream. Panther Warrior and several other warrior type souls began trying to push the ceiling despite a large degree of the futility in the act that they all knew.

All Asuka knew was they were about to die.

Time had this strange way of being incredibly fast, the ceiling was rushing at them out whip like in speed. Yet her mind could see the the rest of the tunnel the way it waved upward, her head turning and watching as the ceiling started to rapidly approach her. The cement was crumbling, dust exploding from the sides while above it began to crack as the damage from below was racing along its walls to the top.

'I guess Blue Eyes destroyed the orb.' She thought absently as she started to see her life flashing before her eyes. Walking with her parents, Fubuki holding her hand, she could see him cheering her on as she tried to dance like those celebrates on tv. Only for the image to be washed away in this blue light that pushed the ceiling back.

"A little help here..." Fairy groaned as she tried to force the shield to overpower all this concrete and dirt. "Rose..."

"Yes yes," Black Rose grumbled as she began extending the vines she had woven over Aki and Yusei into the tunnel.

"Don't 'yes yes' this you potted plant!" Archfiend growled. "Right next to Momentum? Have you forgotten?!

"Its not like I can Sanctuary 'that'," Stardust mused as he brought his frame into the tunnel and began pushing to help Fairy.

"Kaiba isn't going to let it explode, the last time no one had the awareness to even TRY to get his help!" Black Rose growled in answer as she slipped further into the tunnel. Earning her a sour look on her face as she saw how thin the space was getting. Sending out her vines she found where the ground was pulled from to pack it in 'here' and began pushing it back. More vines were sent to secure the walls of the tunnel as she looked about. "He's here, I can feel it in the ground itself. He's active but he's not fully here. This is the closest I'VE EVER felt him..." She hissed out as she worked.

"If he's here so is He... Think the child can do it?" Stardust asked when PowerTool, finding purpose, produced a vacuum and began sucking out the dust from the tunnel. "Remember there's a tornado outside, don't take 'all' the air, Power..."
