Goren pulled up to the motel and got out while Eames stood put. Her face was everywhere by this point on the news so they didn't want to risk it. The building was older and had wear from years of being in business with little going back to update the upholstery and framework. He paid the clerk in cash with a little extra for a quiet night with no interruptions. The clerk looked puzzled with he asked for double beds but he booked the room with no questions. Then, he handed Goren the key attached to a soft diamond shaped key chain dictating the name of the hotel and the room number the key belong to. Inside, double beds awaited with dim lit 70's charm. Beside each bed was a small lamp and wood nightstand. The walls were painted a light olive green. A small chair stood alone by the door. Simple no frills. There was no fridge or microwave. It was the kind of place you slept for a night or put in a quickie, while on the road.

It's about late afternoon, Eames was looking forward to a quick meal as her stomach began to growl. So, they grabbed some food to go from a nearby diner. It would be a working late lunch or early dinner depending on where you drew the line. She squeezed in bites of food as she attempted to recover herself from being doxxed. Goren didn't bother. Everyone was gone. He would work on getting a new social and the necessary bits but it could wait for him.

Eames had been on the phone since they arrived calling and canceling accounts and trying to reclaim her privacy.

Goren dialed the number they had for Gregory's girlfriend and she answered

"Hello I'm looking for Kierra Johnson."

"This is her. Who's this?"

"It's Detective Goren from Major Case Squad."

The phone clicks and recalls the dial tone. He repeated the number sequence.

"Please don't hang up we are trying to find the man responsible for Gregory's death,"

"Look in the mirror. you are. You had a chance to stop it. You did nothing."

"Not true. But, I refuse to give up on his case."

"Case what case? From what I heard you guys buried it. I went in for information anything they could tell me about Gregory's final moments but they said there was nothing. There's nothing they could do about it and blamed the protesters being our of control. They said his death was due to protesters escalating in violence."

"I know. I'm working this off book. Like I said I refuse to give up on him and I can tell you about his last moments if you like. And, we both know that isn't true."

Despite her anger, her grief ached to know anything that would bring comfort, "Yes, please."

Goren could hear her tears welling up. "Gregory went out a hero. He was so brave. He agreed to cooperate to try and help us stop the bomb. He said it was out of love for you and Jayden."

"He should have stayed home. I told him to stay home," her tears came fast and her breath expelled like she'd be holding it in.

"I'm sorry. Gregory chose to lead by example for Jayden to show him the kind of man he hoped he would be. I have to ask you something do you know anyone named Pat? "

"I don't think so but I wasn't involved with his friends. If he wasn't a part of BLM, I don't know how I can help?"

"Your boyfriend ID him as possibly one of the people responsible for the attack. If you think of anything. And I mean anything you think will help please don't hesitate to call. Take down this number..."

Goren repeated the 10 digit sequence then hung up the receiver. "...thank you and I'm truly sorry for your loss."

"How goes it with you?" Goren observed as she rocked the chair back and forth with anxiety. She had a pen in mouth with a notepad in her hand writing numbers and information.

"A nightmare. Anything from the girlfriend?"

"No, she doesn't know anything."

"Yes, no I'll hold," Eames moved her hand to the receiver, "Whoever leaked this information is gonna have hell to pay. I'm still no where near rectifying this."

"Whoever leaked the information didn't want us looking too close to Gregory's death and the case we were handed. They are tying up loose ends."

"I agree. It was personal and yet effective and I'll be in telephone hell for a while trying to unravel all of this. Not to mention, I've been getting death threats all over the posts and some even brazen enough to call my direct phone. I'll have to grab a burner and change my number."

"I've been just sending them to voice mail. It's bound to get full eventually."

The phone clicked and woman's voice answered. "Yes, It's Alexandra Eames. Recently my information was leaked as a part of doxxing. I was told to call your number to help me figure out the next steps outside the obvious new phone, new address," she waited to receive the information, jotted some notes down, and thanked the persona on the end of the call.

Well I need a break from phone calls, so what are we going to do about Gregory and Pat?"

"First we need to find Pat. Kierra didn't know anything. It appears she's not invested in his current social habits. My guess he was more invested in the relationship trying to win her back. They were separated but still loving. She was heartbroken on the phone. That doesn't come without some love. I can double back if she remembers or we end up finding something she may help us with but for now she's a grieving widow."

Eames replied, "She'll need some space at first but they she'll be lonely and want company but she'll know she's not ready for anything. She's a mom so all her energies will overcompensate toward her boy. Yes, she'll come to us if need be. For now, lets just let her grieve. This can't be easy for her not knowing the details. It nearly broke me and I knew a lot of the details."

"We could circle back to BLM but they're under a lot of heat and I doubt our guy would be apart of BLM. He was angry from what the Captain shared and it seemed to be directed toward them."

"Yes but if they had recent trouble with him then maybe that could be a lead."

"Our best shot is still looking into our own."

"They'd be expecting that, no way it would be easy."

"No. Not easy. It would be someone higher up in rank. He was worried about his reputation. It would be damaging to a high rank official."

"So let's think. We got sergeants, lieutenants, police captains, Assistant Chief of Police, Chief of Ds, FBI..."

"But it has to be in house so that knocks off the FBI, they leaked personal information."

"Yes, but that could still come from anywhere."

"How many people know about Brady."

"So, In house."

"In house.
