"Please tell me this day is over?" Pacey groaned, pushing his head into his hands. He sat at the Potters table after eating a birthday breakfast Bodie had made for him.

"Nope your day just started babe." Joey grinned curling her arms around Pacey's waist from behind, pressing a tender kiss to the back of his neck.

Pacey whimpered rubbing tiredly at his eyes, his other hand reaching up to cover her hands on his chest. "Jo, my birthday never turns out well…ever."

"Well, it's going to." She smiled squeezing him to her before pulling back, announcing. "I'm going to get changed and then we can head to school."

"Joy." Pacey deadpanned watching her walk to her room out of the corner of his eye.

School passed relatively quickly but the impending festivities were stressing Pacey out forcing him to skip lunch which thankfully Joey hadn't noticed.

He was a bit surprised when they came to the Icehouse, he assumed any get together would be at the Potters residence. The intimidation of a party this size rattled his nerves.

After greeting a few guests, he excused himself to the kitchen. He grabbed a soda but stopped finding bottles of beer lined up next to the soda. Steeling a glance at the door he grabbed a bottle, opening and guzzling it quickly. He was about to grab another when Jack walked in behind him.

"Hey, happy birthday man."

"Thanks." Pacey stuttered snagging a root beer from the fridge turning toward his friend. "You want?"

"Sure." Jack smiled grabbing a coke instead of a root beer nodding toward the main room. "Let's go before Joey comes in here and pulls you out by your ear."

Pacey chuckled his stomach tumbling. It felt like the calm before the storm.

An hour later and two more procured beers, Pacey sat at the top end of the biggest table in the middle of the room, presents splayed around him. Joey sat to his right her hand on his knee a grin on her lips. "You'll get my present later."

Pacey grinned back, moaning as she pulled him into a heated kiss. When she pulled back, however, her eyes dropped in confusion finding an odd taste on his lips. "Presents! Let's do presents!" Pacey announced to the table trying to divert Joey's attention from him.

"I want to go first." Dawson stood up a long flat wrapped gift in hand. Handing it to Pacey he nodded toward Mitch. "Its from dad and me."

Pacey took it cautiously, his body swaying slightly, his stomach clenching painfully. Pulling open the package he raised a brow in confusion. "A picture of a boat."

"Your boat." Dawson clarified with a smile, eyeing his dad before looking back at Pacey. "Dad's friend in Hyannis was selling his boat…and I know you've been wanting a boat since we were kids…it needs some work, but we can help."

"Wow." Pacey could feel a sheen of perspiration cover him as he stood to thank his friend. "Dawson…I…" The words stopped on his lips, the world tunneling before his eyes, his body swaying sharply toward the table opposite theirs before he dropped into the table and rolled to the floor unconscious.

Joey, having watched the scene in slow motion scrambled from her chair, screaming. "PACEY!"
