Follow the story of three former villains on a rehabilitation program trying to be the best version of themselves. Trying to be heroes. But as much as they try and as much as they do. In the eyes of the public, they're still villains. This MHA Fanfic will be from a different universe. Earth 2 so it will be half canon and new stuff. From arcs and villains.

13. Chapter 13: The Iris

The new activity training ground will revolve around a mental game. How long can you endure the past? How long can you ignore your mistakes? How long can you ignore yourself? This is the point of a hero. A hero must always be the light that shines at the end of the darkness. A hero must leave their emotions from their job and personal life. How long will you be scared to embrace it? Luckily for our heroes in training! They will face robots!

Each room will have different robots and every time they reach another room they will be... Guess! Another robot! But!!! Each robot in a different room will sense your emotions and they will either judge you or help you! Isn't that great? But that's not all! Each room will be locked and each student will have to open it in different rooms! For example! If young Midoriya opens the first door. He can't open the second! While the others have to push the robots away from you! Talk to you! Or encourage you!! That's right! But what happens if the one who's opening the door gets mad? Well simple! If he leaves the door for about two or three seconds! The team gets eliminated! Hahaha!! Yes! The first time to reach every single door wins!!

Our first team will be team Yaoyorozu!

Momo: "Alright team let's think before we act alright?"

Bakugo: "Tch!"

Tenya: "This is a mental game... We must stay cautious!"

Ezekiel: "Right."

Shoto: "..."

Our second team will be team Midoriya!

Deku: "Mental... Huh? Alright!"

Mina: "Can't wait!!!"

Kirishima: "Hehehe if I can break those machines then we'll be alright!!"

Aisha: "mhm."

Mineta: "I'm going to be with this goddess?! You have heard my prayers!!"

And our last team! Team Uraraka!

Ochako: "alright..."

Tsuyu: "Ribbit."

Denki: "This should be easy!"

Alfred: "Robots?! Cool!!"

Koda: "G-great"

Alright! Now that we have our team you must be ready to embrace each other! Now! Let's begin!!!

The first team opened the door.

Momo: "Alright... Who's opening the door first?"

Momo was looking at her team and Tenya spoke:

Tenya: "To make it easier for the first round, we should probably let Katsuki open the door."

Bakugo scoffed and spoke:

Bakugo: "Ha! Needing help from the best!" They were all walking in a white hallway and they were all looking at how robotic this whole place looks. Momo and Tenya were examining the area on how organic it looked, Shoto was calm but curious and Bakugo was looking at the ground.

Momo: "It looks so organic... But so robotic at the same time... Remarkable..."

Tenya sees the door in the distance.

Tenya: "There's the door. We must be cautious for any-"

Crunch!*

Everyone stopped and took a fighting stance except for one.

Crunch!*

Bakugo looked to his right and saw it.

Bakugo: "WHERE DID YOU GET THOSE POTATO CHIPS?!?"

Both Momo and Tenya looked to their right and saw Ezekiel with a bag of potato chips.

Momo: "Can you not?"

Tenya fixed his glasses and spoke:

Tenya: "We are in a training section can you please not eat while we are on a mission-"

Ezekiel then spoke:

Ezekiel: "I've seen these robots before. In America. *Crunch! He takes another bite of the chip* This isn't a mental game. It's about how would you react when the villain mocks you. "

The three students were quite confused about this, but Momo spoke:

Momo: "When a villain mocks you? Elaborate on this before we enter the first door."

Ezekiel finished eating his chips and pointed at the door.

Ezekiel: "The first robot we will encounter is called, Lex. They can sense your emotions to a deeper level. I'm pretty sure these are more toned down. Because Lex will need more than just brains to beat. Lex is quite formidable when it comes to just sensing your emotions. The best way we can beat this first level is to let the blonde kid explode it in seconds."

Tenya looks at the door.

Tenya: "Sensing your emotion to a deeper level? Mhm... Alright... Bakugo... You're up."

Bakugo smirked and opened the first door. The room was dark, but before he could step forward a robot was right next to him.

Lex: "Greetings." The robot was wearing a butler's suit. Waving at the students. Bakugo was going to destroy it and before he could, Ezekiel stopped him.

Ezekiel: "I said the door. Not the robot. Lex can tank hits from anyone here. He's just scanning us now. When he finds the perfect emotion. He will strike. Just ignore him." Bakugo nodded and they all entered the room. Shoto saw the other door that was locked in the distance.

Tenya: "Great eyesight, Shoto! We must act quickly before-"

Lex: "What bothers you, my friend?" The robot finally spoke and he was looking at Momo.

Bakugo went straight to the door and was charging a devastating attack. Shoto, tenya, and Ezekiel walked toward her.

Tenya: "Let's move..." He looks at the robot.

Lex: "You have trouble believing in your friends. Because you don't know if they truly are your friends." Ezekiel got closer to her.

Ezekiel: "It's playing tricks with your mind. Let's move..." Tenya and Ezekiel had, Momo in her arms and they were helping her to walk. Shoto was behind her and was scanning the area.

Lex began to follow them slowly like a cloud.

Lex: "Walking a path of pride and ego will soon be the cause of death around you. Friends and families. What do you gain when you have everything and then lose it?"

Momo let go of Tenya and Ezekiel and was waiting for Bakugo to blow up the first door.

Momo: "Mhm..."

The robot began to Beeb three times and stopped talking.

Ezekiel: "He couldn't get, Yaoyorozu to budge. He's looking for someone else."

Tenya: "Then get ready."

The robot was searching for a deeper emotion and looked at Tenya.

Lex: "A great leader must always listen to his team, but an ignorant one will soon feel paralyzed to move forward."

Tenya was shocked that the robot was reading him like a book, but he looked away. The robot quickly looked at Shoto and spoke:

Lex: "You must accept your past and move on. But to accept your past. You must forgive the one who hurt you."

Shoto widened his eyes and looked away. The robot looked at Bakugo and spoke again.

Lex: "It is often those with the loudest voice who have the most to lose."

Bakugo didn't say a word, he was just charging his attack.

The robot slowly looked at Ezekiel and he was studying him.

Momo: "Looks like you're up."

Ezekiel: "..."

The robot was still studying him and without a thought, he spoke:

Lex: "I know the plagues that haunt you." Tenya, Momo, and Shoto were looking at Ezekiel confused about what the robot said. The robot continues to talk.

Lex: "How can you change when you can't embrace your past? Who do you want to be?"

Ezekiel looked away, but the robot was getting closer to him.

Lex: "It is often those who refuse to embrace their past are always the ones that return to their old roots."

Momo was thinking to herself (He's the most dangerous one out of the two. But I don't want to push my luck as I did to Alfred with him... But... I can try...)

Tenya (He's a force of nature. When he fought, Shoto it was barely a fight. He was just playing with his food. But... He might change.)

Shoto(I Guess he has his problems... It's a good thing I'm not the only one...)

Lex: "Do you want them to call you a friend? Or a-"

BOOM!* Katsuki broke the first door and the robot stepped back. The students left the first door.

Momo: "Look up there. It's a sign."

The sign said safe zone.

Bakugo: "And there's the other door over there. Alright... Who's up now?"

Everyone looked at Ezekiel and he spoke:

Ezekiel: "Guessing if Lex was the first one. It's going to be a Ram."

Tenya: "Lex was sensing our emotions. What can Ram do?"

Ezekiel looks at the door:

Ezekiel: "He's going to mock you. We gotta play it safe here. Now that the bad-temper kid won't be opening any doors for now. We need to have someone who doesn't let their feelings get to them."

Momo raised her hand.

Momo: "I'll do it, but... Next time you open the other one. Got it?"

Ezekiel: "I'll open the last one. Because if I'm correct. The last one is worse."

Tenya walked closer to him.

Tenya: "Elaborate."

Ezekiel walked towards the second door.

Ezekiel: "He smells your fears, your traumas, that thing will provoke you."

Momo: "What can it do?"

Ezekiel: "Create holograms of people you used to care"

Ezekiel opened the second door and the second robot was sitting in the middle of the room.

Ezekiel: "Just get the door"

Momo(Looks like these rehabs have some anger issues. Although I'm still going to test my luck. He's... More... Oh what's the word?)

Ram: "Gullible?" He looks at Momo. Momo was shocked that the robot heard her mind and realized that she needed it to shut up. The robot can read minds here. She quickly went straight to the door and used her creation quirk to open it.

Ram was still on the floor looking at her. Ram was wearing a flamingo shirt and shorts as if he was on the beach.

Ram: "Awww... What's the matter? Did I scare you? Don't ignore me tho... I might spill some tea in that little mind of yours..."

Ezekiel rushed towards her and said:

Ezekiel: "Be talkative towards him. He's not going anywhere until you do it."

Momo nodded and was still using her quirk for the door.

Momo: "Yeah. You can say he's gullible."

The others got curious about who was she thinking about.

Ram: "Oh yes. He is? But... *He looks at Ezekiel* You think you can... Get him on your knees? Hehehe. Such a way of thinking huh?"

Ezekiel looks at Momo.

Momo: "Just a thought. His friend is almost doing it."

Ezekiel looks at Tenya.

Ezekiel: "Ram is focusing on how we react towards each other. Hiding a secret or a feeling. Even if it's bad or good intentions."

Tenya: "Fascinating... We still need to be a team even though we know something..."

Bakugo: " I guess that's how it works. No seriously. We need to balance our hero life and personal life. Even if we know something from our team. That's the main goal of this second round."

Tenya, Shoto, and Momo looked at Bakugo.

Bakugo: "THE HELL YALL LOOKING AT ME?!"

Ram: "Hehehe... Being at the top must be so lonely... Let me guess... Mhm... Family matters?"

Momo stops and looks at him.

Ram: "Ahhhh... Thinking that you don't need them... Hehehe... But look at you... Wanting to feel... To feel something... But for a girl like you? Hehehe... Maybe they don't like you. Maybe they do. Maybe you're a complete fool -"

Shoto got right in front of him.

Shoto: "That's enough."

Ram chuckles and finally gets up from the floor towering Shoto. He removed his sunglasses that he had and spoke.

Ram: "Aww... So the boyfriend had to defend his girl huh?"

Momo was blushing and so did Shoto. But Shoto quickly spoke and said.

Shoto: "She's my friend."

Ram: "Oh please... Are you seriously thinking about that? Oh? Oh...? *He was sensing something inside of him* Someone's scared to show feelings... Hehehe. Don't worry tiger... Hehehe... She might reject you. Because she thinks everyone wants her for wealth and body.. but who knows? She might like you as well..."

Momo was blushing extremely hard. Both Tenya and Bakugo had their mouths open. Ezekiel had no idea what's going on, but he spoke to Shoto

Ezekiel: "After this... Uhm... Why don't you guys... Talk about these feelings...?"

Ram looks at Ezekiel.

Ram: "You? Giving advice? Hehehe. *He walks slowly towards him* When was the last time... You even listen to your advice?"

Tenya: "He got you there."

Ram was already in Ezekiel's face.

Ram: "Matter a fact... When was the last time you even listened to someone? Mhm... Oh? Is that anger I sense? Sadness? Awww baby boy... *He chuckles* he feels so much regret for what he did..."

Ezekiel: "Really Sherlock? How would've thought of that?"

Ram was quiet for a moment looking at him and he spoke.

Ram: "Doubting on someone's love I see? Ho ho ho... *He leans closer to him* Someone has mommy issues... Hehehe..."

Ezekiel chuckles and looks the other way.

Ezekiel: "Whatever you say tin can." Ram looks at Tenya.

Ram: "Awww... What's the matter? Someone's jealous? *Looks at Momo and Shoto* Looks like someone has competition... Hehehe...

Shoto looked at Tenya and saw how he wasn't the same. Although Tenya quickly regained composure and spoke

Tenya: "We must not let this robot get to us. Momo how much for the door to open?"

Momo was slightly embarrassed and spoke

Momo: "It's going great... *She slightly looks at Tenya* Iida i-"

Tenya: "Focus."

Ram quickly looked at Momo.

Ram: "Ahh... Highschool love... Although... *He looks at Tenya* Someone hasn't told his friend why she hasn't been texting a lot... Tch tch tch! All those friendly dates... Eating together... Watching shows and TV's... Thinking you had a chance..."

Tenya was clenching his fist. The robot was getting on Tenya and Momo's nerves, but before Tenya could do anything, Ezekiel grabbed the shoulder of the robot and spoke:

Ezekiel: "Alright tin can. Better back off or-"

Ram: "Or what? Are you going to do the same thing to me? Like you did to those heroes in New York?"

Everyone stared at Ezekiel.

Ram: "Ahhh... So they don't know-"

Momo finally opened the door and everyone quickly left the second room. They all took deep breaths and rested for a while. Tenya was looking at the third door and spoke:

Tenya: "Alright... I guess we should go there... Shoto you're up. Ezekiel. What's behind that third door?"

Ezekiel quickly regained composure and spoke

Ezekiel: "I'm guessing Bob. Although he's nice."

Tenya raised an eyebrow.

Tenya: "He's nice?"

Ezekiel: "Yeah. He's... Very kind... Just don't get him on his bad temper side. He might tell you something about you."

Momo: "Oh? So he's like a friend until you piss him off and use your secrets against you?"

Bakugo: "tch! This is going great!"

Ezekiel nodded and saw Tenya was still mad. Ezekiel looked at Shoto and Shoto was embarrassed.

Ezekiel: "Oh dear... *He looks at Momo* I hope you guys can concentrate. Let's go."

Tenya didn't say a word but followed Ezekiel's lead. Although Momo was literally in a state of guilt. She was thinking to herself.

Momo( Great... I didn't realize he... Focus! Now it's not the time for feelings... Like Ezekiel said. This is a mental game! But... I need to talk to Tenya...) Momo was walking closer to Ezekiel and she was looking at his eyes.

Momo(Those eyes look so familiar... Mhm also... He does have some weird resemblance like... *The realization hits Momo* Wait... He does look like midnight...) Momo stopped for a brief second and was thinking about what the robot said.

Momo( Mother issues? Family problems... Now that I think of it... I've seen midnight following him a lot... Even today... Wait... No way... But I can't say it here...)

Ezekiel: "Yaoyorozu. Are you okay?" Momo looked up and saw everyone waiting for her. She quickly walked towards the third door and saw Bob. Bob was dressed like a bartender. Playing cards.

Shoto walked towards the door, but Bob quickly told the others to have a sit with him.

The other four sat down and Bob was putting some cards.

Ezekiel: "Uhm Bob."

Bob stopped and gently spoke:

Bob: "Yes my friend?"

Ezekiel: "Can we play two?"

Bob's chuckles and nods. He grabbed the cards from the poker table and began to put the two cards.

Bob: "Do you want something else my young friends?"

Momo: "Water."

Tenya: "Ice tea."

Bakugo: "Warm milk."

Ezekiel: "Apple juice."

Bob looked at Shoto and spoke:

Bob: "Do you also want something to drink my friend?"

Momo spoke for him.

Momo: "He'll drink orange juice."

Bob gently smiles and walks away, but before he can leave he speaks.

Bob: "My friends it's time for you all to break the ice. Do not leave the table. Alright? Bye bye!" Bob left.

Tenya looks at Ezekiel.

Tenya: "What's going on?"

Ezekiel looks at the cards in his hands and places on in the middle. It was a green two.

Ezekiel: "He wants us to discuss what happened in the second room. Everything." Looks at Momo.

Momo looks at her cards and places a green five.

Momo: "Oh? Why's that? Is this about breaking our ice if there's tension in the air in our missions?"

Bakugo places a yellow five.

Bakugo: " Guess how it works I suppose. I can't say much. The robot wasn't talking to me. So... *Looks at Ezekiel* Wanna talk about what you did in New York?"

Tenya places a yellow eight.

Tenya: "Yeah. I know you want to change, but now it's the best time to explain yourself."

Ezekiel looks at his cards and he picks another card from the stack of cards.

Ezekiel: "Not very proud of it. But I took some hero's lives." He looks at the card he took, but it wasn't the color or the number.

Momo: "You killed heroes?"

Tenya: "How on earth are you're on rehab?"

Bakugo: "So a hero killer is roaming the streets huh?"

Ezekiel picked some cards and got a stack of five cards. He places it in the middle with the other ones.

Momo saw that she needed it to get five cards, so she grabbed it.

Ezekiel: "My quirk is unstable. My body can keep up, except my mind. I blacked out and the first thing I saw when I woke up was New York in ruins and dead heroes around me."

All of them were in shock, momo put a red color with the number two.

Momo: "Mhm... So it wasn't technically your fault? That quirk of yours it's pretty dangerous. It might cause us a lot of trouble"

Bakugo places another card.

Bakugo: "Mhm. That's why you were so much stuff? Pff! I can probably beat you with my eyes closed."

Tenya places another card.

Tenya: "You must be forgetting, Katsuki. He had a collar around his neck fighting shoto in the sports festival. Just like how Eijiro was fighting Aisha and how I was fighting, Alfred. We don't know the true power of their quirks."

Bob appeared with drinks and placed it on the table.

Ezekiel: "My quirk is cartoon logic. Not only that I can just pull a comically large spoon out of thin air. I can make my skin like rubber. If I simply don't want to die. I won't. I can't feel pain. And my speed strength depends on who am I facing... Best believe me... I won't lose."

They all stared at Ezekiel. His demeanor completely changed after they were discussing about what happened in New York.

Bakugo: "Really tough guy? Tch! I always wanted to face a villain like you... Maybe you're unstable up there. But I'll beat you to a pulp." *He lights one of his hands*

Ezekiel leans forward.

Ezekiel: "A villain like me? A world-destroying threat? That's what you want? Hehehe. Be careful what you wish for." He points at his hands and Bakugo looks down and sees it was covered in tape.

Bob: "Children please behave. Now that there are no more questions... Ms. Yaoyorozu. Care to explain this situation between you and Mr. Iida?"

Both Ezekiel and Bakugo looked at Momo. Tenya was also looking at her.

Momo: "It's complicated... But... Yes... Me and Tenya were secretly going on dates. It's just that..."

Tenya: "It just what?"

Both Ezekiel and Bakugo looked at each other still having tension between them.

Momo: "Shoto one time asked me out and... Mhm..."

Bakugo: "So you thought that was a great idea huh? Although I'm not surprised."

Ezekiel: "Have to agree with him. I thought you two were together. Never thought you were with that kid over there."

Tenya drinks his iced tea and places a card.

Tenya: "You couldn't just text me and say I found someone?"

Momo gently places a hand on Tenya.

Momo: "I'm sorry I just didn't want to hurt you and-"

Tenya gently pushes her hand away.

Tenya: "It would've been more mature of you to tell me that."

Shoto opens the door and they all quickly leave the room. Bob happily waved at them.

The tension was extremely high. Friendship has slowly been broken. Loved ones in shambles and new rivalry on the horizon.

Tenya: "You're up, Ezekiel... That's the final door. Let's all concentrate. This is a mental game. If anyone wants to discuss something. Let's just discuss it after this game... Please?"

Everyone nodded and Ezekiel went first.

Momo: "Ezekiel... You said this final robot will show us our fears. What's the robot's name?"

Ezekiel: "Sif. He's only choosing one. Guessing the one who will open the door. It's a game on how you face your fear and move forward... That's why I wanted to open the final door."

Everyone looked at Ezekiel.

Bakugo: "You would rather get thrown your PTSD around like that rather than us? Huh."

He looks at Ezekiel with a little respect.

Momo: "But do you want to experience your fear again? Tenya can go and-"

Ezekiel: "No." Ezekiel opened the door and it was a dark hallway.

Ezekiel: "Get behind me guys." Everyone was behind him. Ezekiel walked forward.

Ezekiel was moving forward into the darkness of the pit. Until he heard footsteps walking towards him. They all stopped and it was a small girl that was covered in blood.

Shoto: "What is that?" Shoto said whispering.

Tenya: "It's a girl... What's going on"

The little girl looked at Ezekiel and started to cry. She was shaking violently and was holding a plastic gun towards, Ezekiel.

The little girl: "Don't get near him!" Ezekiel passed the girl. It was just a hologram.

Everyone did the same. Ezekiel slowly stopped because he saw someone crawling away. It was a pro hero from America he looked like in his sixties and was missing an arm.

Everyone was startled to see a horrific scene. But Ezekiel began to move forward.

Pro hero: "I gave you everything I had... You were like a son to me...!" He died there. Ezekiel moved forward and he heard a woman's voice.

He stops again. It was a woman with clown makeup and was smiling, but she was also crying at the same time. Her tears were bloody.

Momo looked at Ezekiel. She saw that Ezekiel was already getting on his nerves. Trying not to panic.

The woman: "My love... Where are you going?! Don't just... I need you... Please! Please! I'm sorry!!! I didn't mean to!! I didn't mean to hurt, Alfred!"

Momo was shocked. It was the woman that Alfred told her earlier. Ezekiel looks down and continues to walk.

Everyone was looking at each other and Momo spoke

Momo: "Ezekiel you can stop if you want... This... This is too much... Maybe one of us can take you-"

Ezekiel stops and they all do. They heard someone slowly walking towards him. It sounded like an old man with a staff. But he was also young. He was like In his thirties but he was sick

The man: "Ezekiel! Come here, boy!"

Ezekiel's voice was trembling and spoke.

Ezekiel: "Father."

The man slowly revealed himself. He looks up and down at Ezekiel.

The man: "Look at you! Hahaha! You show those villains a piece of our mine!" Ezekiel walks away, but the man was following them.

Ezekiel: " You said they were villains... But when I gained consciousness and woke up..."

The man: "Bah! They are all the same! Besides! Look around you, dear boy!" Everyone saw that the hallway completely changed and it was New York. They were heroes and villains on the floor dead or injured. Others were in disbelief.

Momo: "Oh my..."

Tenya: "One person did this... No help..."

Shoto: "..."

Bakugo: "Wow..."

The man pulls out a drink.

The man: "They were going against us, boy! We can't just let them talk to us like that! Where's the money?"

Ezekiel closed his eyes trying not to cry.

Ezekiel: "The money is gone, you bastard."

The man stopped drinking and he threw the bottle at Ezekiel. It was still a hologram.

The man: "You idiot! Can't you do anything right?! That's why your mother left you! Be a man for once you pathetic creature! Bah!"

Ezekiel continued to walk and saw a door. He opened it and saw the final door.

Ezekiel: "I'll open the door..." He rushed in trying to open it with his strength.

The man appeared

The man: "Look at you! Trying to be a man and doing the right thing! When was the last time you even did a good deed? Huh? *He walks closer to him* Look at you... Trying to be a hero..."

Ezekiel was breaking the door but wouldn't budge. Tenya quickly rushed in for help.

Ezekiel: "Thanks."

The man: "Oh? Now you have friends? What happened to Arthur? To Felix? John... Elizabeth? Oh right... Gone..."

Tenya was also doing the same strength.

Momo quickly rushed in as well and pulled the door as well. Shoto and Bakugo did the same.

The man chuckles: "Heh. What's next for your little adventure boy? Be a hero? Your past has already been stained! Be a friend? You're nothing but a Cain! *He looks closely at his son* Be a lover?"

Ezekiel stops and looks at him.

Momo: "Focus!"

The man: "Yeah... Focus, Eze... Focus... Don't let another woman hold your balls... Like Nina did... Hehehe..."

Ezekiel quickly began to break the door.

The man: "But it won't matter... You can be a hero. You can be a friend. You can be a lover..."

Ezekiel got up and broke the door with his quirk. His hand grew and he broke the door with a single punch.

The man: "You will forever be a monster in everyone's eyes."

Everyone walked out.

Ezekiel: "I know..."

They all left the training ground breathing heavily.

Present mic: "Amazing! Looks like team Yaoyorozu won!"

Tenya: " What? How?" He looked up and saw the other two teams move extremely fast. They were practically the last one.

Momo: "But we were dead last."

All might appear and spoke

All might: "But you won. Being fast doesn't make you a winner. You confronted the emotions and acted like a hero. Even if the odds were against you. Even when there were problems between your team. Even when facing your nightmares. You still showed up and acted. Congratulations!"

Ezekiel: "Can I go now?"

Aizawa: "Sure."

Ezekiel waited for the guardian to put on his helmet and handcuffs, but he didn't show up.

Aizawa: "Oh? Waiting for him? Don't worry. You can go."

Ezekiel's eyes widened in shock, but he didn't say a word. He just walked away.

The other four were discussing what happened in the rooms.

Ezekiel was leaving the arena and he stumbled upon Alfred and Aisha.

Ezekiel: "Guys?"

They both looked at Ezekiel and they quickly hugged him.

Aisha: "How I missed you..."

Alfred: "Hehehe... Don't we all?"

Ezekiel: "Guys... Oh... I'm Sorry..."

Midnight appeared and spoke.

Midnight: "All alright children. We have other things to discuss as well. Follow me."

The three began to follow midnight and they entered a room with three chairs and a table.

Ezekiel: "Oh really now? When was the last time you beat me?" He was waiting for her to put the cards on the table.
