Many find themselves misguided at times.

But in times like those, certain adversities can truly reach the desires.

Did you truly want what you sought?

Or is there a better way you cannot yet see?

Perhaps… it is a matter of taking your pride away… and evaluating yourself a little closer.

Ask yourself….

What do you truly want in this life…

Zayna Vandelay?

….'It's been weeks since I fought Chase and his heroic allies….'

As familiar words resounded over the scene, the Vandelay building being built by Zayna in Advancerealm was complete.

'Reconstruction has gone well, the building is thriving, so are our products that… sigh The Loonatics are scrupulously overseeing.'

Vandelay stocks can be seen rising thanks to Zayna's products she's making, to much praise from Roxanne, despite how embarrassing it might be.

'Groundwork for VECTRA is complete thanks to the stored USB the Loonatics didn't get. I passed it off to them as fast workmanship, of course.'

Zayna could be seen giving a PowerPoint presentation to Tech and Duck on her ideas moving past the initial struggles.

'...And yet…. Despite this… …I've… hit a wall.'

The present time is finally shown. A restless Zayna, sitting at her desk. Staring at her computer. The document… VECTRA Phase 2…. ….Still empty.

'...Why…. Why are all my ideas just… falling flat…. What am I missing…? What…'

'What am I feeling…?'

In Zayna's head, the words rang in her ears of the words the Loonatics… and that boy, said that day.

"Makin' a world free of violence ain't as easy as flippin' a switch in somebody's brain. Even if VECTRA works and people start thinkin' the way you think, what's to stop 'em from not?"

"There's always gonna be something that acts as a flaw. Nothing can be perfect on the first try. And if you really wanna have people be free, you should let them make that choice for themselves, not choose for them."

"But you can't accept that, so you're choosing to take the easy road and subconsciously make that decision for the people. You don't want to work hard to make your dream a reality-"

Like a record screech, Duck's voice stopped as he was the harshest truth of the bunch, the fact that in their eyes… she was just like her father… just like her father… JUST LIKE HER FATHER!

"I AM NOT MY FATHER!" Zayna yelled to no one as she slammed the desk…. …And just as Duck's voice faded, Chase's came in…

"You keep saying that. But is that all you are? Is World Peace through forced decision what you really want?"

Zayna's mind calmed, as she sat back in her chair… and she leaned back… …Oddly enough…. It was comfortable enough to sleep for a few hours there after hearing that.

'...Is this what I want….?'

The next morning….

"Zayna! Wake up!" Daniel's voice exclaimed as Zayna stirred to the Vandelay bot before her.

"Hunh…?" Zayna asked tiredly.

"Loonatic Captain Ace is here. He's making his way here for the weekly monitoring." Daniel informed.

"...Let me get into proper attire," Zayna remarked, looking down at her wrinkled clothing, as she was in a simple tank top and shorts at the time. "It wouldn't be proper for him to see me like this."

"I dunno, I think the tank top shows off your feminism more," Daniel remarked.

To that, he was promptly bashed on the head with a nearby pole Zayna used for training. "Tell Ace to give me 20 minutes."

"Wha'd I say…?" Daniel remarked with a daze as he teetered off to inform Ace.

In the shower, the steam covering up Zayna's body, her mind ran rampant on last night.

'Am I really my father…? Am I really acting like him in all this? Even still, I'm creating VECTRA to help others through mind manipulation… Is that still so….?'

She remembered Kale's words as she reviewed the camera footage from his office as he confronted the certain group that stopped him.

"Do you have ANY idea how difficult it is to make something that people actually want to buy? It's ridiculously hard! Hey, a new whatever! Well, what color? What model? Size? Speed? Do I need it? All that stress– gone! Because we'll subconsciously make that decision for you."

"Subconsciously make that decision for you…" echoed in Zayna's mind as she even spoke those words aloud while she dried herself from the shower.

As this thought finished, Zayna was about to put on her suit… before she looked back at a more casual but still professional-esque outfit. …Her father always wore a suit and tie….

…Time to change it up.

Cup of coffee in hand, Zayna exited in a simple blue polo and khaki pants with brown slip-on shoes as Daniel looked at her in surprise.

"Zayna? Where is your-" Daniel was about to ask.

"I'm… feeling more loose today, Daniel. Ace can see me now." Zayna remarked, looking out across the skyline.

Daniel nodded, heading back to the lobby to send Ace up.

A few moments later…

The elevator to Zayna's office dinged as the Loonatic's leader appeared at the door.

"What's up, Zay?" Ace smiled, noticing her outfit. "Hey, lovin' th' new look. Not that the suit was bad or anything."

"My father always wore a suit. For literally anything. Why should I?" Zayna remarked, as normally, she'd even get on to Ace for calling her 'Zay' when she didn't want to be… this was definitely behavior out of left ballfield.

"Gotta say, you've really been rampin' up production ever since we last danced. Only been a few weeks since then." Ace said.

"I… saw how you and your team took down that giant comet. …Chase… …Is Chase alright? I've not heard from him." Zayna remarked.

"He's fine. He just got a little banged up after we blew up the thing. But he's back on his feet and decided to take a little journey." Ace explained.

"...Ace… I need to take a breath of fresh air. I need some fieldwork." Zayna admitted openly. "Something to stretch my legs and… figure out my thoughts."

"Oh? Ain't ya still workin' on VECTRA? Y'know Roxie wanted us t' keep an eye on you. Zadavia went ahead and told her the whole story of what you were up to, y'know."

Zayna knew all too well. As her Grandmother, after hearing the reports, Roxanne didn't like how Zayna was potentially taking after her father Kale in the ways of things… another one who tossed her in with her father.

"I'm well aware. But I've hit a wall, Ace. A big one… I can't even type a single sentence for Phase 2." Zayna admitted. "...As if there's something… Tugging at me… telling me something…"

"Y'don't say…? …Fieldwork, eh?" Ace remarked with a raised brow.

"Anything you guys haven't taken," Zayna stated.

"Well, there is something Zadavia wanted us to stay out of, because there's some weird convoluted stuff goin' on with it. But, she never said a hired personnel under our supervision couldn't fit the bill just as well." Ace remarked.

"I'm listening." Zayna hummed.

"Well, keep listening. C'mon, if you're serious about this, then follow me to HQ and Zadavia will give you a full rundown of what she wants us to stay out of. It might be right down your alley." Ace remarked as he guided Zayna to HQ.

At the Loonatics HQ….

"I did not expect you to come to me to ask for a field assignment, Zayna," Zadavia admitted, as Zayna and the Loonatics gathered around the assembly table.

"As I told Ace… there's a lot on my mind and VECTRA is at a standstill because of it. I might as well take the time to do some work that won't get you heroes run through the mud in your rep." Zayna stated.

"You're still obsessed with VECTRA? Didn't Roxanne warn ya not to work on it so it reaches levels of "what SPECTRA did to our poor company!"?" Duck asked.

"I'm taking all the steps to not let it end up like Kale's plans. Or SPECTRA. But with this wall… I just need time to clear my head. A field mission will suit that." Vayna declared.

"There may just be something in mind I haveI for you. Granted, this is on another world, but it is something." Zadavia said.

"Name it. I'm all ears." Zayna listened intently.

"A prime minister in Africa needs protection. Tell me…. Are you familiar with the deep state government known as the Patriots?" Zadavia asked.

"I'll need a refresher. They sound familiar." Zayna remarked.

"They ran the world war economy. That was until a certain stealth operative took 'em down." Tech said.

"I see. And why bring them up to defend this Prime Minister N'Mani?" Zayna asked, taking in intel while looking through files on the individual tasked to defend, along with other things to do such as help train their military, etc.

"Since the patriots fell, Private Military Companies split into numerous factions. N'Mani is one of the political figures aiming to provide his world with some measure of peace. Even still, there are those out there who want to… eliminate him, to ensure things remain otherwise." Zadavia said.

"So in other words, you want me to ensure nothing ill befalls him," Zayna remarked. "Been meaning to test my suit, now that I have it… ahem. Properly constructed." Zayna mused.

"In the ideal scenario, you won't need it." Zadavia pointed out.

"When do I leave?" Zayna asked.

"You won't be going alone. We've prepared to send Lexi as additional support during the transport, disguised of course. We still need to keep track of you." Zadavia remarked.

"Uh… slight problem with that. Outside of Acmetropolis, people are gonna freak out when they see me. How am I supposed to blend in?" Lexi asked.

"Tech, I believe you have that answer in full?" Zadavia pointed out. "The disguising device?"

"I've got it right here," Tech said, holding a circular device. "Haven't given it a name, but once you put this baby on, Lexi, anyone who isn't us or Zayna will see you as an average human being," Tech remarked.

"Well, that settles that. When do we leave?" Zayna asked.

"Immediately." Zadavia declared as Lexi and Zayna made their way to head to Africa….

"Y'sure puttin' Zayna on this jobs the best call Zadavia?" Ace asked. "I mean, thinkin' about her life path or not, she's still herself."

"Yes. But I wonder if she hasn't realized her true desires. Perhaps, if she clashes with ideologies similar to her own, maybe she will understand her true path, her true desires to help the world…" Zadavia hummed.

"Ah, rehabilitation through exposure to similar ideologies. Smart." Tech hummed.

"Genius-plan-Zadavia-wish-we-thought-of-that-sooner-we-coulda-saved-a-lot-of-headaches-trying-to-convince-Zayna-that-VECTRA-needed-a-major-overhaul!" Rev added.

"...My only hope is that it truly works for the benefit of her… not a detriment…" Zadavia sighed.
