Chapter 5: The U.A. Sports Festival!
It was the next day after the League of Villains attacked the USJ and tried to kill the All Mights, the News reports that the U.A. High's hero course students were attacked by the League of Villains. It is reported that the criminal forces plotted on killing the All Mights. Seventy-two criminals were arrested, but the leader escaped and his whereabouts remain unknown. Meanwhile, the aforementioned hero, Toshinori and Toshinoko Yagi, better known as the All Mights, pens a letter to their former teacher. After reading the letter, All Might's former teacher muses about the boy acknowledged in the letter.
U.A. is closed the day after the attack, and its faculty members hold a meeting with the Police Force Investigator Naomasa Tsukauchi.
"Our investigators are trying to learn everything they can about this so-called "League Of Villains". We've made some progress, but we can't find anything on the Shigaraki Twins so far." Tsukauchi said. "We've searched our records of men in their 20s or 30s who are registered as having some sort of disintegration Quirk, but so far, we've come up empty. Same for the Warp Gate Villain, Kurogiri. So they're not citizens or they're using Aliases. Hard to find, either way.".
"So what you're really saying is we don't know anything." The Hero with Pale Gray hair said.
Sekijiro Kan, also known by his hero name, Blood Hero: Vlad King, is a Pro Hero and the homeroom teacher of U.A. High School's Class 1-B. Quirk: Blood Control. Sekijiro's Quirk allows him to freely manipulate his own blood after it has left his body. He can also solidify the ejected blood, allowing him to trap his opponent. It appears that Sekijiro's Quirk allows him to go unaffected by levels of blood loss that would normally be fatal to the average human.
"We've gotta track 'em down." Snipe said. "I shot one of their ringleaders, but once he heals up he'll probably try pullin' somethin' like this again. What a pain.".
"They did seem like the type." Toshinori said.
"Is something on your mind, All Might?" Principal Nezu asked.
"The Attack on the USJ was too bold. No sane adult would ever attempt it. The ringleaders kept monologuing about the reasons they were there. And they bragged about Nomu's many Quirks, but they never said a word about their own powers." Toshinori said. "When things didn't go their way, they were visibly upset. Like they were gonna throw a tantrum. Not to mention, the ringleader gained an immediate liking towards Tatsuya Hitoshi and wanted him for herself. Ahh, I guess bragging about Nomu's Quirks was a quick way to draw us into a fight.".
"That might be true, yes, but strategically, it was foolish to reveal his Quirks up front instead of keeping them a secret." Principal Nezu said.
"The Shigaraki twins made wild, immature claims, but did so with a completely straight face. And they talked about Nomu like he was some kind of pet. It seemed like he'd never been told "no" before like he thought things would go his way no matter what." Toshinoko said. "They have the personality of a spoiled little brat. A Man-Child.".
"A child with incredible power, though." Vlad King said.
"It's possible they never got the Quirk counseling students receive in elementary school." Midnight said.
"Maybe so, but it doesn't really matter now." Snipe said.
"There were 72 villains arrested in the aftermath of the USJ attack. They were all small-time thugs who usually lurked around back alleys. What worries me is that this "Man-Child" got them all to follow their crazy plan." Tsukauchi said. "They viewed them as a real leader. Criminals are starting to feel more pressure now that the world is brimming with heroes. That could be why they were so quick to back such simple-minded villainy."
"Guess that makes sense." Vlad King said.
"There are plenty a' people out there lookin' for a cause to get behind." Snipe said.
"So, what can we do to stop them?" Midnight asked.
"Well, it is thanks to you heroes that we have the time to devote ourselves to this case." Tsukauchi said. "We'll expand our investigation and continue searching for the perpetrators who planned this attack.".
"A man-child, huh? In some ways they share common ground with our students." Principal Nezu said. "They both have so much potential. And, like our students, I suppose it's possible someone is guiding them, trying to nurture their malice and villainy.".
"I don't wanna think about what that could mean." Toshinori said.
School was closed the day after the League of Villains attacked the USJ. Most would think they wanted the students to have a little break, but it was pretty tough to relax for others. That night, Tatsuya was doing exercises in his room in the new home he was in when he arrived in this world.
In Class 1-A the next morning, the students discuss their appearances on the news because of the attack on the U.S.J. Tatsuya walked in the classroom and everyone began cheering for him. Most of the girls complimented him on how amazing he was during the USJ incident. Izuki ran up to him, grabbed his arm, and began to hold it tightly as she was becoming jealous from the attention Tatsuya was getting from the other girls.
"Attention! The Homeroom Class is about to begin!" The Iida twins said in sync. "Everyone stop talking and take your seats!".
"Uh, we're all sitting." Homura said.
"Yeah, you're the only two standing." Kazan said.
The Iida Twins sat down in their chairs in embarrassment.
"Hey, Tsu. So… Who do ya think is gonna teach class today?" Ashido asked.
"No idea. Mr. and Ms. Aizawa are still in the hospital recovering from their injuries." Tsuyu said.
To everyone's surprise, Shota and Shina Aizawa arrives to class covered in bandages as they said in unison; "Morning, Class."
"Mr. and Ms. Aizawa, what are you doing?" The Students all asked in unison.
"Whoa. What a pro!" Hanzo said with a smile on his face.
"Mr. and Ms. Aizawa, I'm glad you're okay!" Tenya Iida says.
"Define 'Okay'." Hikaru said.
"Tatsuya." Aizawa said seriously.
"Yes sir?" he replied anxiously.
"Thank you for trying to help us out during the USJ Incident. Even though what you did was reckless, we may not be standing here today." Aizawa said. "If that was your quirk you showed during the USJ Incident, then you need to learn how to control it properly."
"Y-Yes Sir!" Tatsuya said, standing up at Attention.
"We definitely need to keep an eye on him and tell Principal Nezu about the incident at the USJ… Tatsuya underwent a sudden change in persona and for a Power augmentation Quirk, he also seemed to use another Quirk… It seemed to be a blue ball of energy before he unleashed it and took out the Nomu." Aizawa thought. "Not to mention, with the All Mights seeing it too, they would probably want to know what it is as well. His power surpassed the All Mights easily and took out a Villain not even any of us could defeat… I think we need to talk with his father later…".
"Back to the task at hand, our well being is irrelevant." He said. "What's more important is that your fight isn't over yet."
"Our Fight?", Tatsuya thought. "What does he mean by that?"
"The UA Sports festival is about to start." Aizawa said all seriously.
"Ugh! Why would you scare us like that?!" The whole class shouted out.
"The Sports Festival!" Everyone then said in unison and excitement.
"Let's go kick some ass!" Eijiro said excitedly.
"Wait a minute." Kaminari said.
"Is it really such a good idea to hold the Sports festival so soon after the villains snuck inside?" Kyoka Jiro asked.
"They could attack once we're all in the same place again." Mashirao Ojiro said, agreeing with Jiro.
"Apparently, the administration thinks this is a good way to show that the threat has been handled and our school is safer than ever." Aizawa said. "Plus they're beefing up security compared to past years. This event is a huge opportunity for all students at UA. It's not something we can cancel because of a few villains."
"Our sports festival is one of the most watched events in the entire world. In the past, everyone was obsessed over the Olympic games. But then, quirks started appearing." Aizawa continued. "Now, the Olympic games have been drastically reduced in terms of scale and viewership. For anyone who cares about competitions, there's only one tournament that matters. The UA Sports Festival."
"That's right!" Momo Yaoyorozu said. "And Top Heroes everywhere will be watching. This is where you get scouted."
"She's right." Denki Kaminari said. "After graduating, a lot of people join Pro-Agencies as a sidekick."
"Yeah, but that's as far as some people go." Jiro said. "They miss their chance to go indie and stay eternal sidekicks. Actually, that's probably where you're headed."
"Ouch", Tatsuya thought with a smirk on his face. "That's gotta hurt."
"It's true that joining a famous hero agency can guarantee you greater experience and popularity." Aizawa said. "That's why the festival matters. If you wanna go pro one day, then this event could open the path for you. One chance a year. Three chances in a lifetime. No aspiring Hero can afford to miss this festival. That means you better not slack off on your training."
"Yes sir!" We all said in unison.
"Class is dismissed." Aizawa said before he left the room.
Everyone began talking about the sports festival while Tatsuya made Izuki blush every time he kissed her. Tatsuya and Izuki continued to talk about the Sports Festival until Ryuu called Tatsuya outside. Tatsuya gets outside.
"What is it, Dad?" he asked.
"We need to talk." Ryuu said.
"It's about time. It's about my newfound power, right?" Tatsuya said. "I've been meaning to ask you about it. Just what the hell happened to me at the USJ and what was that power I possessed?".
"It's your Saiyan Power." Ryuu said.
"My what?".
"You see, before I became a God and back in my 20s, I became a Saiyan Warrior. Saiyans are an alien warrior race with the power to not just use Ki Manipulation but to be able to transform to become stronger and achieve godhood that way, and to have the ability to become drastically stronger and heal faster to adapt to your opponents power in battle and with a near death experience." Ryuu Said. "With my Saiyan power, which I still possess, managed to get passed down to you and now you have Saiyan power. What happened back at the USJ, was you awakening your Saiyan Power for the first time. You'll grow incredibly strong the more you fight, train, and survive a near death experience. And with that, you'll be able to awaken your Chosen One Powers faster and become even more powerful than ever before."
Tatsuya was speechless from this knowledge.
"So… I'm a… Saiyan?" Tatsuya tried to say.
"Yes. and now that your Saiyan side has awakened, you need to gain control over your power, which will be the training I'll be giving you before the UA Sports Festival even starts." Ryuu said.
"Okay… I understand. But one question.".
"Yeah?".
"How the hell are you even here?!".
"Because I can travel to different worlds whenever I want."
"Huh?! You mean to tell me you could get me and everyone else out of this world, and you didn't say anything?!".
"Of course I can, but you can't leave this world until it doesn't need your help anymore.".
"What's that supposed to mean?!".
"You felt it, didn't you? That this world brought you here for your help and then you fought a being who wasn't supposed to be as strong as it should have which triggered your Saiyan awakening?".
Tatsuya's eyes widened when Ryuu pointed that out. He was right. The World he was in called for his help and the Nomu had a sudden evil power boost which it shouldn't have in the first place.
"The same thing happened to me when I was in my 20s. The Worlds called for my help of being the Chosen One. (In Omniversal War by AlmightyKami.). I gained new friends, new powers, became stronger, found more love interests, and above all else, I became who I am with the help of these Paranormal portals sending us to other worlds for help." Ryuu said. "And now, yours has just begun. This is only the first world you need to help first before moving on to the others. And you can't just leave and go home. You are the next Chosen One and my son. I know you can do it.".
"Now, go all-out." Ryuu commanded.
Once Tatsuya unleashed his full power, they dashed towards each other, and began to train rigorously as everyone from Class 1-A began to watch. After Tatsuya was done training with Ryuu, he was able to eat his lunch with Izuki. Once the school day ends, Class 1-A's students are unable to leave class because the exit is blocked and crowded by students from other classes.
"Why the heck is everyone blocking the door?" Tatsuya questioned.
"It's because they are scouting the competition. We're the class that survived a real villain attack." Katsuki said. "Move it, extras.".
The Bakugo Twins, Katsuki and Kira, tried to tell everyone to go away until another set of twins from the general studies course came up as they said in sync; "So this is Class 1-A. We heard you guys were impressive, but you two just sound like a complete ass. Is everyone in the Hero Course delusional, or just you two?".
"How sad to come here and find a bunch of ego maniacs." The brother said. "Me and my sister wanted to be in the Hero Course, but like many others here, we were forced to choose a different track. Such is life."
"Man, this guy is pretty dark…", Tatsuya thought.
"Me and my sister didn't cut it the first time around, but we have another chance." The brother said. "If any of us do well in the sports festival, the teachers can decide to transfer us to the Hero course. And they'll have to transfer people out to make room."
"Scouting the competition? Maybe some of our peers are, but Me and my brother are here to let you know…" The sister began to say. "That if you don't bring your best, we'll steal your spot right from under you. Consider this a declaration of war."
Hitoshi and Hinako Shinso, the Shinso Twins. Age: Both 15 years old. Quirk: Persona Chords. Using their Artificial Vocal Cords, Hitoshi and Hinako can modify their vocal tone to imitate the voices of other people, deceiving their enemies so they respond and subject themselves to their Brainwashing.
"Where did these two even come from?!" The Midoriya twins thought.
"Hey, you two!" Another pair of twins from the Class 1-B abruptly arrives.
"We're from Class 1-B next door to you! We heard you guys fought some villains, and we came to see if that was true. But you guys are just a bunch of brats who think you're better than us! Talk big all you want! It'll just be embarrassing when you guys are KO-d!" The brother said.
Tetsutetsu and Tetsatetsa Tetsutetsu, The Tetsutetsu Twins. Age: Both 15 years old. Quirk: Steel. Tetsutetsu and Tetsatetsa 's Quirk allows them to turn their body into steel. This power grants the Tetsutetsu twins both augmented defensive abilities to withstand attacks and the increased strength of their unarmed physical attacks.
"Yeah, whatever. I'll see you later, babe." Tatsuya said.
"R-Right… See you later, honey…" Izuku said nervously with a soft smile.
Tatsuya pretty much ignored everyone as he tried to get through the crowd. Once he got home, the countdown had just started ticking away. The UA Sports Festival was in two weeks. The whole thing will be live on TV. There's no doubt that whoever impresses the audience will have a much better chance of becoming a pro hero one day. The students won't know what the games will be until the First day. They could basically throw any sort of trial at them. And so, they have to prepare for all possibilities. Tatsuya and everyone else began training for what we could at least do for the sports festival. Apparently, Ryuu has gathered Tatsuya, Hikaru, Homura, Tsuki, Hanzo, Kazan, and Kenshin onto a grassy field.
"Alright, Dad. What do you have in store for us?" Tatsuya asked. "You know we have the sports festival in two weeks right? Is there really a way for you to make us crazy strong?".
"That's right. I have an idea on how to make this even more fun!" Ryuu said excitedly.
"Huh?".
Ryuu summons a portal as a group of people comes out of it. Blaze Tanaka, the Father of Hikaru Tanaka. Tsukiya Nakagawa, the Father of Tsuki Nakagawa. Michael Araya, the Father of Homura Araya. Han Fuji, the Father of Hanzo Fuji. Akira Yamazaki, the Father of Kazan Yamazaki. And, Keisuke Kobayashi, the Father of Kenshin Kobayashi.
The boys eyes widened in surprise.
"I already told them what happened so they're caught up. Since only 5 of you have yet to awaken your Saiyan potential, your fathers will be helping you out and pushing you all to new heights." Ryuu said. "I'll be doing the same with Tatsuya since he already had his Saiyan awakening. And Homura, your dad will just be helping you awaken a new level of power from your flame powers so you'll catch up to everyone in no time. Now then… Let's begin!".
Once Ryuu announced the start of their training, 6 of the fathers took their sons to a different location for training as Ryuu and Tatsuya stayed in the grassy field.
"So… What will you be teaching me besides trying to get more Ki control and controlling my Saiyan power to make me stronger…?" Tatsuya asked.
Without a second thought, Ryuu teleported him into the Dragon Ball Universe.
Meanwhile, in the Dragon Ball Universe, The South Galaxy has recently been obliterated.
"HOLY SHIT!" shouted the South Kai of the once there South Galaxy.
South Kai is the king of the South Area in Universe 7. He has the ability to alter the weight on training weights, as is seen when King Kai instructs him to increase Goku's training weights to ten tons each. South Kai then shoots out a wave, crying out the new weight, as the weights are adjusted. Which was shown in the Dragon Ball Z Manga and the Dragon Ball Z Buu saga.
"Okay, first of all, calm down." King Kai said.
King Kai, (Kaiō-sama), is the North Kai and king of Universe 7's North Area. A comedy lover and brilliant mentor. He taught Ryuu, Goku and Goku's Twin sister, Goki, one of Ryuu's wives, using the Kaio-ken and the Spirit Bomb. Kami says in Dragon Ball Z that King Kai is stronger than King Yemma who had previously proved too much for Raditz to handle when he arrived in the afterlife. In a filler portion of the Frieza Saga, when Recoome (whose power level is over 40,000) tries to brag to King Kai the latter replies that "Recoome is not strong enough to handle him", he later tells Chiaotzu that the dead members of the Ginyu Force are "not that tough" (despite that he himself considered them to be the most fearsome fighting squad in the universe) which places him at over 43,000.
"I was in the bathroom for FIVE MINUTES! And now it's all gone! HOW?! … WHO?!".
"Could've been Beerus.".
"Oh, you know that mother's still asleep! This is my ex, man! She told me she would hurt me in a way I'd never saw comin'! WHY, EAST KAI?! WHY?!".
"South Kai, listen.".
"I thought she may, like, steal my Blu-Ray Player, man!".
"South Kai! We are going… to figure… this out.".
"We need to get whoever did this, North Kai!".
"Alright then, listen. I got a guy.".
"What's his name?".
Ryuu suddenly teleports in front of King Kai with Tatsuya right next to him, surprising the North Kai.
"RYUU SUPREME KAI ALMIGHTY! Oh, it's just you, Ryuu.".
"Hey, King Kai! Long time no talk." Ryuu says with a warm smile. "How ya doing, Bubbles?".
Bubbles, the Monkey who lives with King Kai, just makes happy monkey noises to Ryuu.
"Oh, yeah? I'm glad you're alright.".
"So, what's the special occasion of seeing one of my old pupils today?" King Kai asked Ryuu.
"You see, I'm hoping you'll train my Son here, Tatsuya, and teach him the Kaio-Ken and the Spirit Bomb technique like you taught me back then, King Kai." Ryuu says.
"Is that right? Handing me another disciple? I'm honored." King Kai said with a smile. "Sure, I can teach him the Kaio-Ken and the Spirit Bomb for ya.".
"Thanks, King Kai. I'll make sure to get you something in return.".
"You better! Can you get me one of those God Tubes so I can watch videos and other events?".
"Sure. No problem.".
"Sooo, you're King Kai." Tatsuya said, looking at King Kai.
"That's right. I am the most superior martial artist in all of the other galaxies. I am the Great King Kai! And, also, Welcome to my planet." King Kai said.
"Can I ask why it feels like I can hardly move a muscle?..." Tatsuya says as he begins to feel the Planet's gravity intensifying on him.
"That's because my planet has about ten times that of Earth's Gravity, so you weigh ten times as much!" he said.
"W-Wait, really? And my Dad trained under this gravity?...".
"That's right, and very easily, I must say. He adjusted to my planet's gravity within 10 minutes of sparring and moving around before actually learning my two techniques I taught him, the Kaio-Ken and the Spirit Bomb.".
"Also, before you begin, Tatsuya," Ryuu began to say. "Each world you visit will be different, especially the time gaps in between. For example, two weeks in the universe you were in, can be a month or so in this universe.".
"Wh-What?!" Tatsuya said in surprise before smiling excitedly. "So I get more time training! This is perfect!".
"That's right, a month or so here with King Kai, will be like a thousand years worth of training to the average mortal like a human." Ryuu said with a smirk. "Now then, I'll see ya later.".
Ryuu teleports away with a pop sound.
"Now then, your first lesson is to overcome this planet's gravity by catching bubbles. Go." King Kai said.
Tatsuya slowly moves towards Bubbles as he tries to take a step forward and struggles in the process. Within 8 hours of trying to catch bubbles, Tatsuya has adjusted to the planet's gravity and manages to catch Bubbles.
"I did it! I caught Bubbles!" Tatsuya said happily.
"He overcame the planet's gravity quickly but not as fast as his father, but still good enough. He's just as good as his father." King Kai thought before saying; "Nicely done, And now it's time for your next lesson.".
King Kai gives Tatsuya a heavy sledgehammer that weighed 100 pounds which was 1,000 pounds on King Kai's Planet.
"Go Squash, Gregory." King Kai says with a smile, pointing at Gregory the Cricket.
Gregory looks at them. "Wait, Wha-".
Tatsuya immediately runs and chases after Gregory.
"OHMYDEARGOD!" Gregory quickly shouts as he continues to run away.
Tatsuya continued to chase after Gregory. "Wee-hee!".
King Kai casually waters his plants. "Shut up, Gregory.".
"Aagh?!".
Tatsuya slams the Hammer down on Gregory. Gregory was perfectly fine, but unconscious. Tatsuya puts the hammer down and stretches as he was now perfectly adjusted to the planet's Gravity as it became second nature to him.
"I completed the first two lessons, King Kai!" Tatsuya says with a smile.
"Yes, congratulations; You've managed to catch bubbles and give Gregory a Concussion." King Kai said.
"You psychotic bastard!" Gregory says in the background.
"Now we can get started on your real training and I can finally teach you the Kaio-Ken and the Spirit Bomb techniques." King Kai said. "So, you think you're ready?! Well, my training is tougher than you can imagine! Do you really think you can take it?!".
"I'm ready!".
"You have to be the best! The greatest fighter in all the other galaxies! Physically! Mentally! In every way!".
"I'm ready!".
"Let's have some tea first…" King Kai says as he goes inside his house and Tatsuya comedically falls to the ground.
Many weeks later in the Dragon Ball Universe, Tatsuya has become way stronger than he was before as he could feel himself becoming stronger time after time again as he was gaining full control over his Saiyan powers. Tatsuya managed to learn the Kaio-Ken and the Spirit Bomb technique under King Kai before continuing his training. Tatsuya was close to awakening himself into the next Chosen One and maybe even something beyond that…
Eventually, the days have passed back in the MHA Universe. All the training made time go by quickly. And back in the Dragon Ball Universe, Ryuu teleports back on King Kai's Planet and sees Tatsuya finishing up his training. Tatsuya has grown a few inches taller and now has a well-built body for his age. Tatsuya notices his father and smiles softly.
"Hey, Dad! I'm assuming it's time to go already?" Tatsuya said.
"Yep, I'm ready to go." Tatsuya said before he turns to King Kai and says; "Thank you, King Kai, for all the training. I'm grateful and hope to see you again."
Tatsuya bows respectfully as Ryuu hands King Kai his God Tube he asked for.
"Oh, the God Tube! Thanks, Ryuu!" King Kai said happily.
"I'm a man of my word, King Kai and I'm grateful for having you as my master back then and training my son. Thank you." Ryuu then bows respectfully.
"I also found the guy who took out the South Galaxy and defeated him for ya. Goodbye, King Kai." Ryuu said with a smile before teleporting him and Tatsuya back into the MHA Universe.
"There you go, South Kai. Your Galaxy has been avenged." King Kai says to South Kai.
"...But it's still gone." The South Kai said.
"Sorry, but ain't no Dragon Balls that'll bring that back! …I think.".
"But what about the Otherworld Tournament coming up?".
"Well, now you have a lot more options.".
"That's fucked up, man.".
Back in the MHA Universe… Before everyone knew it, it was the morning of the festival. Tatsuya took a good shower before rushing over to his school with lightning-speed. The school has increased security and has the festival broadcasted live. The press was back outside the entrance.
"This security line is huge. What's the deal?" The female reporter said.
"A bunch of villains did just break in. Of course the school's being stricter this year." A male reporter said. "Some people think they shouldn't be holding the festival, considering what happened.".
"Perfect! Nothing brings ratings up like a little controversy!" The Female reporter said. "Plus, everybody will tune in to see Class 1-A!".
Near the Takoyaki Stands.
"I'll take one order to go, please." A Beautiful woman with creamy blonde Hair said.
Yu Takeyama, also known as the Mineyama Hero: Mt. Lady, is the No. 23 Pro Hero and member of The Lurkers. Her Quirk: Gigantification. Yu's Quirk allows her to grow to a gigantic size. She cannot variate between her base-height and the gigantified height achieved via her Quirk, making her only able to be either her normal height of 162cm (5 feet 4 inches) or her enlarged height of 2,062cm (67 feet 8 inches) tall.
"Whoa! Mt. Lady, is it really you?" The Takoyaki stand guy said.
"And hold the salt, will you?" She said.
"Of course! That's gonna be ten bucks.".
She pretended to gasp and say seductively and shyly; "Um… Oh, no, my money's in another costume.".
"So hot! This is on the House!".
"Aren't you a dear?".
"Have you no sense of shame?" the Pro hero with the wooden mask said.
Shinji Nishiya, also known by his hero name, Kamui Woods, is the No. 7 Pro Hero and member of The Lurkers. His Quirk: Arbor. Shinji's Quirk allows him to enlarge and control his wooden body parts into strong tree branches. These branches are excellent for binding. Being made of wood, this Quirk is at a disadvantage against fire.
After Mount Lady seduces her way to lunch, they talk briefly about how the school has employed Pro Heroes to secure the facility.
"I was hoping I'd get to do some scouting while I was here." Kamui Woods said.
"Yeah, too bad we're stuck working security this time." A Pro hero with short white hair spiked back said.
Punching Hero: Death Arms, is a Pro Hero whose real identity is unknown. Quirk: Unnamed Arm Strength Quirk. Death Arms' Quirk allows him to boost up the physical brawn in his arms. He is able to lift things that are so heavy, they could normally only be moved via industrial machinery.
"Looks like they called in pro heroes from all over to guard this thing. Quite a show." Mt. Lady said.
In the Class 1-A waiting room, students change into their P.E. uniforms for the festival, making it fair for everyone since they won't be wearing costumes. Hikaru, Tsuki, Homura, Hanzo, Kazan, and Kenshin were different from they were before. Whatever training they had, made them grow an inch taller, gained more of a muscular physique, and they were all mostly collected and stoic. Something happened in their training to make them change…
Tenya Iida came in the waiting room and announced; "Everyone, get your game faces on! We're entering the arena soon!".
"Izuku, Izuki." Shoto Todoroki called out the Midoriya Twins.
Tatsuya turned around in his chair to see the Todoroki twins walk up to the Midoriya twins as Shoto says to them; "From an objective standpoint, I think it's fairly clear that we're stronger than you. However, you two got the All Might's in your corner, helping you two out. We're not here to pry about what's going on between you four. But know that we will beat you."
"What's with all these declarations of war lately?" Denki said.
Tatsuya stood up out of his chair, he walked in front of the Midoriya Twins, and then he grabbed the Todoroki Twins by their collars as he said to them; "Hey! What the hell do you two think you're doing!".
"Listen, you two, I don't know what's going on through those heads of yours or why you two think you'd need to tell them that you'll beat them, but if you two go far enough as to even break their bones and make them forfeit, then I swear to you two, I'll make you wish that you two were dead! Do you understand me?".
"Yes, we understand you." Shoto Todoroki said with a straight face as he gently removed Tatsuya's hand off of his collar.
Tatsuya let Shoko go and said; "Good, but before you two go, Listen to what I have to say. Sure, All the other courses are coming at us with everything they've got, and yes, we're all gonna have to fight to stand out. And don't you forget that I'm aiming for the top spot as well!".
"Fine." He said, keeping his straight facial composure.
They all then headed out with all the other first years with their hearts pounding.
"Welcome back to the UA Sports Festival!" Present Mic says. "Where up-and-coming heroes leave everything on the field as they fight for the chance to achieve worldwide fame and celebrity!".
"The first group are no strangers to the spotlight!" He continued. "You know them for withstanding a villain attack- The Dazzling students lighting up your TVs with solid-gold skills. The Hero Course students of Class 1-A!".
"You know, Present Mic does have a good announcer voice." Tatsuya began to say. "But it gets annoying since he does it 24/7."
"True." Hikaru said as he crossed his arms.
Once every first-year was out in the arena, Midnight came up on stage and said; "Now, the Introductory speech!".
Tatsuya sees his father, Ryuu, on the bleachers from afar, taking an interest in Midnight as a random Pro hero says; "This year's chief umpire for the first years is the R-Rated Hero; Midnight!".
"Amazing.".
"Seriously, the other years don't know what they're missing.".
"Uh, someone should talk to Ms. Midnight about what she's wearing." Eijiro said.
"Yeah. That costume should come with a warning." Denki said.
"Is that really appropriate apparel for a high school game?" a student with the head of a black bird said.
Fumikage Tokoyami. Age: 15 years old. Quirk: Dark Shadow. Fumikage's Quirk allows him to manifest a sentient shadow monster from his body that he can materialize and contract freely. Dark Shadow's energy is limited and can be drained by bright light. Dark Shadow retracts into Fumikage's body when it runs out of energy. The shadow entity's personality, strength, defense, and control depend on the lack of light. In bright light, Dark Shadow is weaker and smaller but still has considerable strength and defense and is easier to control, but in total darkness, Dark Shadow's size and parameters are drastically enhanced. It is powerful enough to rip out and cut down multiple full-grown trees easily. However, Dark Shadow is more difficult to control in the dark, causing it to rampage based on its own free will.
She shuts everyone up and says; "Silence, everyone! And for the Student pledge, we have Tatsuya Hitoshi!".
Right as Tatsuya got up on stage while being close to the microphone, he took a deep breath and said; "I just wanna say that I know a lot of people from other classes hate us since we withstanded a villain attack, but we were truly lucky to survive that…".
"The Villains were after the All Mights and it was them who saved us in the end. The All Might's are the reason Class 1-A is still here today. It was thanks to them that we're still here, and now, I just want to say that everyone here deserves a chance to become pro heroes one day." Tatsuya said. "Right now, we're all inexperienced and we have a lot to learn, but Heroes, if you were to take us under your wing, Our potential to become heroes would be unlocked and it'll be thanks to you guys for helping us become Pro heroes. Heroes, please recognize our talents and our worth of becoming promising Pro Heroes one day. I promise you won't regret it!".
Tatsuya bowed down and said; "My apologies for this long, talkative speech, but thank you for listening and I hope you all enjoy the sports festival!".
Right as Tatsuya stood up straight and walked off the stage, everyone began clapping and cheering him on from my speech.
Izuki leaned her head towards him and said; "Nice speech, Babe!".
"Thanks," he replied.
"Without further ado, it's time for us to get started!" Midnight said. "This is where you begin feeling the pain! The first fateful game of the festival! What could it be?".
A projector-like screen appeared above and behind Midnight as the screen showed a spinning wheel.
The spinning wheel stopped as it gave us an obstacle race as Midnight said; "Ta-Da!".
"So it's going to be an obstacle course," Tatsuya thought. "They had to pick something easy for us…"
"All 11 classes will participate in this treacherous contest." Midnight said. "The track is four kilometers around the outside of the stadium. I don't wanna restrain anyone, at least in this game. As long as you don't leave the course, you're free to do whatever your heart desires. Now then, take your places, contestants!".
They all walked towards a red gate as three green lights appeared on it.
The lights were the countdown as one of them went out, telling us; Three… Two… One!
"Begin!" Midnight announces.
"And we're off to a running start! How 'bout some color commentary, my dear Mummies?" Present Mic said as he turned to the Aizawa Twins besides him.
"How did you talk us into this?" Shota Aizawa questioned.
"What should we be paying attention to in the early stages of the race?" Present Mic asked.
"The Doorway." Aizawa said.
The race immediately begins and all the participants struggle to exit through the stadium door. They get packed into a mob by the narrow corridor as their first obstacle.
"I get it; they're testing us– seeing how we get through." Tatsuya thought.
The Todoroki twins realize this and makes their move by freezing the pathway and racing ahead of all the others.
"Apologies." They said in unison and continued to run ahead.
Even though many contestants are frozen in place, Tatsuya, Hikaru, Hanzo, Kazan, Tsuki, Kenshin, and Homura, Katsuki, Kira, Momo, Yuga, Eijiro and Eijiko avoid the ice and stay on the Todoroki Twin's back.
"Here we go!" Tatsuya said with an excited smile.
"Nice trick, Shoto, Shoko!" Momo said.
"We won't let you two get away so easily! You icy-hot bastards!" Katsuki yells out.
Many other students remain close behind them and the Todoroki Twin's surprised to see that so many were able to avoid their attack.
"I didn't expect so many people to dodge that. Especially those from other classes." Shoto said.
Minoru manages to reach the Todoroki Twins and tries to attack them (Mainly Shoko for being a girl), but is knocked away by a villain bot.
"It's those robots from the entrance exam!" Izuku said.
"Ooh! Enemies have shown up out of nowhere!" Present Mic announced over the microphone. "I bet we're in for a treat here! A test of strength and cunning! It's a Robo Inferno!".
"They obviously went through a lot of trouble, but I wish they'd prepared something a little more difficult." Shoko said.
"Especially since our dear-old dad is watching." Shoto then said.
The Todoroki twins froze the robots and went ahead as the robots fell down in front of the other students. Tatsuya blasted the robots out of the way as he instantly ran past the Todoroki Twins. The moment he got in first place; Hikaru, Hanzo, Kazan, Tsuki, Kenshin, and Homura appeared behind him.
Watching from the stands, Pro-Hero, Snipe observes that most of the race leaders are from Class 1-A.
"Looks like all the pack leaders are from Class 1-A. At least for now." Snipe said.
"It's not that 1-B and the other students are doing poorly. It's just…" Toshinori began to say.
"Class 1-A learned not to hesitate." Aizawa said. "They've seen what the real world is like. They've felt the fear of facing villains. Yet they fight on, trying to overcome that fear. They've grown. All of them. And they know that they have to act quickly if they want to stay alive.".
The next obstacle is The Fall: a canyon that can only be navigated by walking along tightropes.
"For those of you who thought the first obstacle was easy. Let's see how ya feel about the second one." Present Mic announced. "If they take a spill, they're out! If they wanna pass this test, they'll have to get creative. It's "The Fall"!".
The 7 boys all stopped once they got to the second obstacle. It seemed like an endless pit from the looks of it, so they had to be careful about where they stepped.
"In the world of heroes, it can be hard to get popular without a flashy Quirk. Right, Eraser Heads?" Present Mic said, turning to the Aizawa Twins.
"I don't know what you're talking about, idiot." The Aizawa Twins said irritatedly.
Once they got to the last obstacle; The minefield, they knew something was fishy.
"And now, we're finally approaching the last obstacle course. Everyone had better tread carefully." Present Mic said.
Tatsuya, Homura, Kazan, Tsuki, Kenshin, and Hikaru stopped as Hanzo went past them and got sent flying by a bomb that was implanted into the ground.
"You're stepping onto a minefield! If you look carefully, you can see where those little bombs are buried, so keep your eyes on the ground, folks." Present Mic announces. "By the way, those land mines were designed for the games, so they might be loud and flashy, but they're not all that powerful. Just enough to make you wet your pants!"
"Get a hold of yourself." Aizawa said.
"Now he tells us…" Tatsuya muttered.
They watched Hanzo get sent flying into the air every time he landed on a landmine. Once Hanzo was at the end, paralyzed, Tatsuya and the others used Ki Force Fields as they went across the landmines safely.
"The first to make it back into the stadium is the first place winner!" Present Mic said before announcing as Tatsuya rushed in; "Tatsuya Hitoshi is our champion!".
The Crowd cheered like crazy as Tatsuya got 1st place, Hikaru got 2nd, Tsuki got 3rd, Kenshin got 4th, Kazan got 5th, Homura got 6th, and Hanzo ended up in 7th place. They waited for everyone else to arrive as they looked up at one of the large tv projectors.
Shoto and Shoko have to trek carefully through the field and are eventually caught up to by Katsuki and Kira, who is still using their Quirk to fly through the air. They catch Shoto and Shoko as they try to blast them with an explosion. Katsuki and Kira remain irritated that Shoto and Shoko bothered to challenge Izuku and Izuki, and not him as the four start to battle for eighth and ninth place. Having received inspiration from Katsuki and Kira wielding their Quirk to fly, Izuku and Izuki develop a plan to take eighth and ninth place after reaching the Minefield. They dig up the mines using the shard of metal they picked up earlier and pile them up. Then, protecting themselves with the metal, they jump on the mines and the explosion propels them ahead of Katsuki, Kira, Shoko, and Shoto, which surprises the four.
"What's with that huge explosion in the back?! That was way more powerful than it should be!" Present Mic announces. "Incredible! What just happened? Whatever the case, Class 1-A's Izuku and Izuki Midoriya are suddenly in hot pursuit of eighth and ninth place! Strike that! The places are theirs!".
"We flew over them just like we planned. And… We didn't think about how we were gonna land!" Izuku thought.
The Midoriya Twins gain the lead for a moment, but Katsuki, Kira, Shoko, and Shoto quickly catch up as Izuku and Izuki start to lose momentum. However, before they land, Izuku and Izuki place themselves on both of their backs and detonate the mines in front of them by striking the metal shard on the ground. This explosion allows Izuku and Izuki to launch past their competition and run to cross the finish line, placing eighth and ninth. Shoto, Shoko, Katsuki, and Kira follow close behind, placing tenth, eleventh, twelfth, and thirteenth place respectively.
"The contestants are pouring in one after the other! Let's hear some applause for all our competitors as we prepare the results." Present Mic said.
Tatsuya goes up and hugs Izuki tightly as he said softly; "That was stupid, reckless, and amazing… You're amazing, Izuki.".
She cries a little in happiness and hugs him back tightly as she says, "Thanks, Honey…~".
Soon after, the remaining qualifiers arrive back in the arena. Once they finally arrived, they got their results and we were all ready for the next phase.
"The First game for the first year is finally over," Midnight announced. "And what a game it was! Only the 58 will advance to the next round. But don't be too let down if you didn't make the cut!".
"We've prepared other opportunities for you to shine! Now, the real fun is about to begin." she said. "The chance to fully move yourselves into the limelight! Give it your best!".
A projector-like screen appeared again and started spinning as Midnight said; "Let's see what we have in store for you next. Will your wildest dreams come to life? What could it be? The waiting is torture. Prepare yourselves… For this!".
The spinning wheel stopped on the cavalry battle.
Midnight Announced; "Allow me to explain. The participants will form teams of two-to-four people as they see fit. In theory, it's basically the same as a regular playground game. But there is one difference. Each Player has been assigned a point value based on the results from the obstacle course. The point assignments go up by increments of five, starting from the bottom. For example, 42nd place is worth five points, and 41st is worth ten points. And the point value assigned to the first place contestant is… Ten Million Points!".
Tatsuya froze. "Ten… Million?".
"That's right!" Midnight said. "It's survival of the fittest, with a chance for those at the bottom to overthrow the top!".
Midnight Continued; "fifty-eight of you qualified to move on to the next round. Gird your loins and prepare for your next test. A cavalry battle! Those of you at the top will suffer the most. Of course that's something you'll hear over and over again at UA. Show us what "Plus Ultra" Means! Tatsuya Hitoshi placed first in the qualifier. He'll be worth Ten Million Points!".
"Oh, That's just great!", Tatsuya thought, sarcastically. "Go ahead! Pin everyone on me!"
"First years! These are the rules that you'll abide by;" Midnight said. "The game itself will last 15 minutes. Individual point values will be added together to reach your team total. Everyone will know how much you're worth thanks to your headbands. Swipe as many headbands as you can to raise your team's score. Stolen headbands must be worn from the neck up. So the more you steal, the harder it'll be to manage them. And another thing- Even if your headband gets stolen or your team falls down, you can keep playing until times up. This is going to be rough. You may use your quirks as much as you like. But there are still rules! Make a team fall on purpose and I'll slap you with a red card. You'll be disqualified! Now, You've got 15 minutes to build your teams. I recommend you get started."
Meanwhile, Death Arms, Kamui Woods and Mount Lady watch from the break room and have a discussion about the Festival.
"The Sports festival isn't really about seeing how prepared they are at being heroes. It's more about simulating the competition they'll face if they go pro." Death Arms said.
"Huh? What're you talking about?" Mt. Lady questioned.
"We both know this country's overrun with agencies right now. If you wanna put food on the table, You've gotta be willing to step on top of other reasons." Death Arms said. "That was the whole point of the first round.".
"That's such a sad way of looking at our jobs." Mt. Lady said.
"Seriously? You've never had a problem stealing the spotlight." Kamui Woods replies.
"But, on the other hand– Even if you're battling each other for popularity, there are plenty a' cases where you have to work together." Death Arms said.
"Huh. You're right, it's just like this cavalry battle!" Mt. Lady said. "Every point you score is not just for you, but for your teammates as well. Plus, you have to think
about how Quirks work together and who you're compatible with.".
"It's kind of like coordinating with your sidekick or doing Quirk training with other agencies." Kamui Woods said.
"I'm sure at least some of the kids are thinking about all this." Death Arms said. "If they become pros, it'll be their way of life.".
"They've still got a long road ahead of 'em." Mt. Lady said.
Back at the stadium, students have begun picking their teams. Once the timer started ticking, Tatsuya already went off and chose his teammates. He first chose Kazan Yamazaki as his front horse. He already had a defensive plan ready to go, but even if it fails, he'll have Kazan take most of the attacks since he knows he'll be alright thanks to his Steel powers. Tatsuya chose Homura Araya as his left horse. Due to his Flame powers, He'll be able to keep the other teams back by putting up a wall of fire. And as his right horse, Tatsuya chose his girlfriend, Izuki Midoriya, who also willingly chose to be on his team. Due to her Superpower quirk, She'll be able to blow some of the teams away with a shockwave like he can, and thanks to his training, Tatsuya will be able to heal her injuries with no problem, but her body will still be able to feel the pain so they'll have to deal with that later…
As time runs out for the participants to form their teams, a pair of Blondes, one boy, one girl, from Class 1-B talks up their team.
"Almost everyone in the audience is foaming at the mouth for Class 1-A. Why is that?" The Boy with slick blonde hair said.
"They're so full of themselves except for that handsome guy earlier… Tatsuya Hitoshi, was it?~" The Girl with the straight, long blonde hair said. "But, just like Tetsutetsu said earlier, Why are they the stars?~".
"The only difference between us and them is that they fought a couple of villains." The Boy with slick blonde hair said. "Just because we're Class 1-B doesn't mean we're second rate or can't win this whole thing.".
"So, let's step it up and show those jerks what we can do." They said in unison.
Neito and Neiko Monoma, the Monoma Twins. Age: Both 15 years old. Quirk: Copy. Neito and Neiko's Quirk allows them to duplicate and use another person's Quirk after coming into physical contact with the user. They can hold four Quirks simultaneously and maintain copied powers for ten minutes. After the time limit runs out, Neito and Neiko lose the copied Quirk until they once again touch the original user. Neito and Neiko gain full access to the Quirk they have copied and can use it however they like. However, they cannot simultaneously use multiple Quirks, only one at a time. It would take them approximately 10 seconds to change from one copied Quirk to another.
Once the timer went off, they built our teams as midnight said; "Oh, goody. It's time to get this party started."
"Hey, hey, look alive!" Present Mic said to the Aizawa Twins, trying to wake them up. "After 15 minutes to pick teammates and talk strategy, 15 Teams are preparing to go head to head!".
"I see some unexpected student combinations." Aizawa said.
"Come on, everyone get your hands in the air like you just don't care! It's time for an arena-thumping UA battle Royale! Let me hear ya scream!" Present Mic said.
Once the countdown has started, Tatsuya immediately puts up a forcefield with small balls of energy circling around his forcefield, protecting him and his teammates until he can't hold on any longer.
"It has already begun. Everyone's an enemy. I'm at the top, and they'll all be coming for me." Tatsuya thought. "I can't rely on anyone but my own teammates. Not this time."
Three… Two… One.
"Begin!" Midnight announced as everyone came at them.
"It's basically one big battle for ten million points!" Tetsutetsu said as his team charged towards Tatsuya's team.
"I'll be taking that headband, Tatsuya!" The invisible girl cackled.
Toru Hagakure. Age: 15 years old. Quirk: Invisibility. Toru's Quirk is that her body is completely invisible. In addition to the stealth capabilities granted to her by her invisible body, Toru can refract light that passes through her, allowing her to intensify the light into a blinding flash.
"They're not even giving us a chance, huh?" Kazan said. "Such is the fate of the pursued.".
"This is it." Izuki thought.
"Make your choice, Tatsuya! Here they come!" Kazan said.
Tatsuya's forcefield began shooting at Hikaru and Tsuki's teams who were immediately coming at them.
"Is that even allowed?!" Hikaru shouted.
"The judges said yes!" Midnight said.
"How is that fair?!" Hikaru shouted again.
7 minutes had gone by as Hikaru and Tsuki's teams kept trying to get through their barrier.
Tatsuya lost concentration and his barrier disappeared as Homura immediately put up a wall of fire around them as Kazan said to me; "Hey! You alright, Tatsuya? What happened to your forcefield?!".
"My apologies," Tatsuya said while breathing a little heavily. "I lost concentration and since a lot of teams are attacking us, it takes a huge portion of both my power and my stamina to keep it up…".
"I see…" He said. "But thanks to your plan, we should be able to keep this up for the next 8 minutes!".
"And now we've reached the halfway point of the game!" Present Mic announces. "As the cavalry battle enters its second half, it's anyone's game! Class 1-B has made an unexpected showing, but who will wear the ten million points in the end? That's the real question, sports fans!".
For the later half of the game, Tatsuya's Team were still on the defensive side. Tatsuya noticed Tsuki's Darkness Chains coming at them until Izuki swatted it away while releasing a strong shockwave, breaking her arm in the process…
Tatsuya immediately healed her arm as she then said; "Thanks, babe!".
"Don't mention it!" He replied. "Just keep focusing on our surroundings!".
"Got it!". She quickly replied.
We continued to keep our defenses up as 4 minutes passed by.
"Only 2 minutes left", Tatsuya thought. "We're still in first place thanks to my plan, but getting attacked constantly from every direction is tiresome! There's no choice but to go on the offensive side!"
"Only 1 minute left! Tatsuya still remains in first place!" Present Mic announces.
"One minute left?! Crap, I gotta move fast then!" Tatsuya thought anxiously.
"Kazan, there's been a quick change of plans," Tatsuya said. "I'll be right back! I promise!".
Tatsuya jumped over the wall of flames, he shot a couple of ki blasts at the teams to create smokescreens, he quickly took some of the headbands, and then he flew back to his team safely. After that stunt he pulled off, they went back to being defensive as the 10 second countdown began…
10… 9… 8… 7… 6… 5… 4… 3… 2… 1…
"Time's up!" Present Mic announced. "And with that, the second round is officially over! Now, let's take a look at who our top four teams are!".
"In First place, Team Tatsuya! In second place, Team Hikaru! In third place, we have team Tsuki! And in fourth place, It's Team Todoroki!" Present Mic continues to announce. "These four valiant teams will advance on to the final round!".
"Now, let's take an hour lunch break before we start the afternoon festivities! See ya soon!" Present Mic then announces before turning to the Aizawa Twins. "Hey, Eraser Heads. Let's grab some food.".
"We're taking a nap.".
"Whew.".
After being given an hour lunch break, Tatsuya ate lunch with Izuki as he noticed that they both have the same eating habits. Once Tatsuya was done eating with Izuki, he used his time wisely as he sparred with his father, Ryuu, for a bit and took a nap until the final event was underway…
As he was sparring with Ryuu, He began to think; "If Dad managed to awaken his Chosen One Powers and beyond that against Powerful Opponents like Uncle Tsukiya or Uncle Blaze, then will I be able to awaken my Chosen One Powers against Tsuki if he's hiding his true strength from everyone?"
Tatsuya smiled excitedly as he continued; "Having myself think about that just makes me excited for my fight against Tsuki! I made a promise to Mom and you, Dad, and I'll be keeping that promise until my fight against Tsuki! Mom, I'm so excited! I can hardly wait!".
