Chapter One: My Life Anew

As I began to regain consciousness, the soft crackling sound of the a fire reached my ears and the scent of the burning wood reached my nose, I opened my eyes slowly as I sat up in the bed. I looked around and saw that I was in a rather cozy room, and in a rather soft bed as I looked out the window to see that it was barely even sunset as I then heard the door open.

"Oh good, you're awake." A male voice spoke out as it's owner entered, I looked over to find it was... Bilbo Baggins, in the flesh carrying a tray of food before placing it on the bedside table and sat down on a nearby chair.

"Where am I?" I asked in a confused tone, acting like I was unsure of where I was. Many time I had imagined meeting

"You're in my home, I found you laying unconscious by the road."

"I see, thank you for your kindness towards me, Mr..."

"Baggins. Bilbo Baggins." Bilbo introduced himself in a polite tone and way as I knew his father had raised him to be, I couldn't help but smile in a cute way that I had perfected by using it on random guys on the streets of my old world.

"Well Mr Baggins, I'm Amara Harvelle." I said in a cute tone along with a smile, I watched as a slight blush crept across his face before my stomach began to growl so loudly that we both heard it.

"Sounds like you're starving." Bilbo chuckled before standing, he grabbed the food tray from the bedside table and placed it on my lap. "I'll leave you to eat and rest for the night, call me if you need anything." He then made his way out.

"I will and thank you again, Master Baggins. For everything." I said before I then began eating the food Bilbo had brought me, it was so delicious, warm and filling. Just what to expect from a hobbit host.

Once I was done eating, I placed the tray on the bedside table and began to wonder about my skills and status file, and before I knew it my status file popped up out of nowhere just like in isekai animes back home. I looked over at my skills list and it showed all the skills I had aquired back in my world during my time with my grandfather, it wasn't until I looked down at the amount of currency that I had I was blown out of my mind.

Even by Earth standard, it was more than enough for me to buy the whole Shire three times over and still be able to live in pure luxury for the next three thousand years at the very least, I checked out my stats and saw that everything was just like in the various animes that I was familiar with. 'HOLY SHIT! I'M SO LOADED!' I thought while looking at the amount of money that Yavanna and Aule had convered for me, it was obviously enough to live in luxury for the next five hundred thousand years or so.

I then started checking my storage boxes in the item box setting only to find a few items already in the first one. 'Huh? What are all these items?' I tapped on the item's appraisal to examine it to find it was a few useful items from the anime Death March in the Parallel World Rhapsody. Items like: Bottomless Waterskin, a few weapons, some armour, a magic tent and a pouch of crystals gemstones in various sizes and colours. I then noticed a message in my status file, and after tapping on the message, it opened up to reveal a message from Yavanna and Aule.

Young Amara,

As you are reading this, we have no doubt that you have looked in your storage boxes and have noticed a few items there already. After we did some research on the things you call: Anime, we got a good idea on how it all works. You will be able to use it much like characters in the anime and video games do, we even made sure you can use the appraisal skill. Also you find your bag there with you and all of the items that were in there when you died are undamaged and in perfect working order.

I looked around until I spotted my bag in the corner of the room, getting out of bed just long enough to grabb the strap of the bag and pull it towards me before sitting back down on the bed. I opened the zip and looked through the contents of the bag.

It was filled with a few notebooks, my stationary kit, a few novels that I was reading at the time and my electronics. My guess is that Yavanna and Aule were talking about these when they said the items were undamaged and in perfect working order, they must have meant my Ipad tablet and Ipod. I smiled as I then continued to read the letter:

We took the liberty of altering your height to that of a hobbit, however due to your magic you will live a lot longer than other humans and similar to the elves but unlike the elves you cannot give up your immortality but you can share it with your soul-mate. This will also pass to any and all children you might have in the future.

That one part I had mixed feelings about. On one hand I was happy that it meant that I didn't have to outlive my soulmate or my children, but on the other hand I would have to watch as all my friends grow old and die while my family and I didn't.

We also transferred all of your wealth from your world (including any inheritance you'd acquire) and converted it into currency for this world, so you won't have to struggle to prepare yourself for your mission. Please use it well to achieve success in your mission, also contact us when you decide to use your final two favours.

Best of luck to you,

Yavanna and Aule.

I smiled as I looked out the window and out into the night sky. 'Yavanna. Aule. You both are the best, thank you!' I prayed as I turned back to my status file, it showed that I was very powerful in both magic and physical combat. And I even added a couple of new skills that I believed I would need in the near future.

After a good hour and a half, I began to feel tired. 'This will have to do for now. I guess I should get some sleep.' I thought as I then slide deeper into the covers, the feeling of the soft blankets and soft pillows were so comforting that I had no trouble falling asleep.

The Next Day...

I woke up as the sun was barely even over the horizon, I sat up and stretched out my arms and legs as I then dressed in old P.E. uniform before using magic to alter the outfit entirely. I closed my eyes and concentrated on the image of what I wanted my outfit to look like, I decided to go with a medieval female huntress/mage mixed in one for now until I make some more clothes of my own.

I concentrated on the details of the outfit as the feeling of an enveloping warmth surrounding my body from head to toe, I focused for a strong five minutes before opening my eyes and saw the many magic circles surrounding me in levels. It was the first time I saw magic in the works that wasn't in an anime or so, and what's more it was me using it too. Super awesome.

As soon as my magic was done, the circles disappeared and I was dressed just like Rey in The Force Awakens. I looked down and was happy that I had saved up all my money to pay for permanent laser hair removal treatments last summer, as I wanted to enjoy going to the beach in a bikini without being self-conscious about unwanted hair. But now, I had nothing but smooth hairless skin that I never had to shave or wax ever again.

Once I brushed my pixie-cut sandy blonde hair and then made my way to kitchen, on my way I stopped by the spot where the calendar and looked over to find out what day/month/year it was. I looked over and was shocked at the date:

April 25th 2939...

'God damn it, Yavanna and Aule. You sent me to the Shire two years too early.' I thought to myself, I had thought they would send me to the moment that I was needed and not any sooner than that. But after a few minutes and several thoughts on the situation, I realised that this was actually a perfect situation. I could use these next two years to train and master both magic and martial arts, I could even brush up on other skills that I had given up years ago that I could probably use to make a living here in Middle-Earth.

I then made my way to the kitchen where I began to cook breakfast, as I had always cooked the meals in my family after my grandfather passed away because of how lazy my relatives were.

The meal I began working on were: mini cheeze and bacon quiches, scones with jam and cotted cream, breakfast sausages and my own blend of tea. I was grateful that I learnt to cook in the old fashion way on a range, thank god for that one family trip to Salem for the winter break.

As I was close to finishing cooking I heard the sound of footsteps coming through the hallways, I turned to look at two of the three entrances as the figure of a sleepy Bilbo walked through the entrance to the hallway yawning before looking up to see me standing by the stove.

"Good morning, Bilbo." I greeted him as I pulled the quiches out of the oven and set them down on the table, along with the rest of the food and the tea set.

"Good morning. I see you've made breakfast." Bilbo greeted as he looked over the breakfast on the table that I had cooked.

"Well, I wanted to thank you for letting me stay last night. You really saved my life." I said as I sat at the table with Bilbo and began to fill my plate, "Here, enjoy." I handed him the plate with the quiche to him.

"Thank you. Smells heavenly." Bilbo then took a good bite out of it before letting out a loud moan of pleasure and commented. "Taste heavenly too." He then began to eat more heartily.

"I'm glad to hear all those years of cooking meals for my family and follow up cooking classes have paid off." I smiled as I too began to eat, though not as much as Bilbo as I was not a hobbit but still a bit more than I used to before as I figured using magic was burning a tonne of calories to conduct magical energy.

We sat at the table, enjoying our meal and chatted over tea. I told Bilbo how I was treated by my family after the death of my grandfather, which he was appalled by the thought of a child being treated in such a way. I knew that to Dwarves/Elves and Hobbits, their children were the most precious thing in their cultures and were to be cherished not abused.

I also told him of my grandfather, how all my happy memories were based around him and all the things I learnt from him. Even thinking about all the memories, I smiled softly as I recall being so happy and cherished by him. I missed him so much but I knew that he wanted me to be strong as I have been since his death.

Bilbo also told me about his childhood with both his parents, how he would go into the woods to look for elves and all such. Listening to stories of how mischievous Bilbo was as a small child, I laughed at all the silly moments and shed tears at the sad moments like Bilbo losing both his parents.

After we finished our breakfast, I used magic to clean the kitchen and after our meal. Which stunned Bilbo until I explained that I was a magic-user but I didn't tell him the truth about where I gained my powers. Instead I told him that magic was seen as a crime that was punishable by death regardless of their age and that was why I ran away from my home, which was true at one point in history: i.e. Salem witch trials, dark ages and such.

Bilbo seemed a little shaken as he then asked me for my age, upon telling him that had only turned 16 on the 7th of this month, Bilbo then seemed to turn pale at the fact that I was technically still a child in both human and hobbit culture. He then began to insist that I stay with him until I am of-age and have a plan on what I will do, since I was needed for the quest in two years I agreed to remain in the Shire and at Bag-End until I was at least 18. By that time, the company of Thorin Oakenshield will arrive.

Once the final dish was stacked neatly away, I turned to see Bilbo grabbed a basket from the corner of the room. Bilbo then turned to me as asked:

"Oh I'm heading down to the market to grab a few things. Would you like to come along with me?"

Thinking about it for a minute, I knew it was a perfect opportunity to go shopping for the much needed things wo get started in my new life here in the shire.

"Sounds like good idea, I need to buy a few things myself." I said as I followed Bilbo out the door and down the path, now I just had to wait two years for my mission to begin.
