Ch 15: Clipped Wings

Dove was different since they had saved Dakota. Well, different was probably the wrong word. It was more like she was more like she was before. She closed herself off from her teammates, she went back to being rude, or ruder than usual, she was getting into fights at least verbally often with anyone who bothered her. She was also refusing to accept any of Loki's affections, or if she did she complained or resisted strongly and purposefully, not playfully or with any show that she wanted Loki to resist anyway. Her team were worried about her but she refused to talk to them about any of it beyond what Loki had managed to get out of her already.

In time, with the increased amount of irritation Dove's neck seemed to be giving her and her ever growing frustrations, Loki began to realize that Dakota may have only been a catalyst rather than a cause in something deeper triggered in Dove by the whole experience. Loki herself was getting into more fights as well with any faunus that dared bother Dove. When the girl came back from spring break, Loki having not heard from Dove the entire time and eager to see her, her suspicions only felt confirmed. There, added to Dove's coat, was a fuzzy cuffed lining at the collar that completely hid her neck from everyone except for the jugular area in the front.

Loki felt her insides lurch and her heart ache. She wanted so badly to pull Dove into her arms and ease whatever was bothering her but Dove wasn't like other girls. Hell, nothing about their relationship seemed like what she thought love would be like. She didn't mind all that but it did make it difficult at times to figure out how to navigate new territory. What she wouldn't give to be a mind reader if only to be able to aid Dove better. She thought about those entries in that notebook and it made her feel sick inside how much Dove was clearly struggling with she could do nothing about, that no one could do a thing about.

As Dove walked Into the dorm and set her things down with a quiet but heavy sigh, Loki watched her, voice soft, "hey Babe… how was your break?"

Dove just shrugged, pulling out a school notebook and flipping through it, not looking up, "a waste of time really."

She couldn't take it. Loki stood up, reaching for Dove, pulling the girl to her despite Dove's angry protests and a fist punching at her constantly and just wrapped her arms around Dove tightly and buried her face into her shoulder, "Babe please… We can't take seeing you like this anymore… I can't anymore. If you can't talk about it fine but… don't shut me out yea? It's killin me to watch what's happenin to ya…"

Dove stopped fighting against Loki, body slacking but quiet, head hung sitting there in Loki's lap pinned in her arms like this and she just felt so disconnected from her own body. Her skin could hardly feel she was being touched at all. Her neck burned and itched at the mark seering its invisible branding on her skin. Two colored eyes gazed into the floor but didn't see it, lost elsewhere. She sat there letting Loki's wet trails fall into her shoulder and lulled her head over into that bed of soft pink hair for a moment, as if it could bring her peace, but it wasn't enough.

She didn't know why it all got so heavy so suddenly since they rescued Dakota but she could hardly stand it anymore. The guilt, the shame, the way it inflamed her skin it was all too much. Slowly, a set of cold slender fingers reached and touched Loki's hand but Loki could tell it wasn't anything good by the soulless embrace as those fingers locked around her hand and gently, weakly rather, pulled Loki's grip off her, then Dove stood and moved away, "Loki… for you I'll say this nicely this once… just let go."

Loki stared after her, sitting there with her arms dropping to her sides in a bit of shock. She didn't even know to what extent this might mean. Just let go right now? Let go of the topic? Her heart clenched. Let go of Dove completely? Sure not right? "Babe…"

Dove let out a frustrated noise and tensed up, her back still to Loki, "Cut the crap Loki! I said let go! Look… this has been fun and all but… I just… I can't…"

Now Dove found herself painfully torn. Her hand clenched the front of her shirt over her chest and she grit her teeth. Loving Loki hurt, the thought of not loving Loki hurt. She was overwhelmed with everything right now and couldn't stand either option at all. She wanted to let go, free herself so that she could just suffer alone at least and not drag Loki down with her into this feeling of insanity in her mind from a stupid mark on her neck she doesn't want from a faunus she can't even contact to fix it but the words to leave Loki were getting caught in her throat and wouldn't come out.

And boy she had tried to contact her ex to make this stop. She was so overwhelmed all spring break she used all her resources through her mother's work friends and her father to hunt down her ex's family but all she got when they finally would answer was that Wendie didn't want to talk to her and refused to connect her with the girl, hanging up in Dove's face and even blocking her from any further calls. It was incredibly miserable that she had no way to make her ex fix this and she was just suffering and her ex was just fine with this! It was enough to make her real feelings clearly grind a seething hatred towards Wendie but the mark's false feelings that tied her to Wendie emotionally made her feel so emotionally drained and burdened and conflicted inside constantly. To the point she didn't have any more room now for anything else.

She couldn't even get any information squeezed from Wendie's mother about why suddenly she felt like she did. She had tried asking Rosy but even that left her frustrated and unsatisfied. All Rosy could say was that it was possible either her ex was pining strongly for Dove, calling to her mark to try to draw Dove out to her or the stress of her PTSD recently had her wanting her mate's care desperately whether it was something she actually wanted or not. It was a forced physical response from the mark. Rosy said it could even be both when she came to visit Dove during the break and saw how irritated the mark was with her faunus vision.

To Rosy's eyes, she could see how raw and annoyed it was, like a fresh burn on Dove's skin. With all Dove was saying about how her body was getting frustrated when she even thought of Loki and how she had been having nightmares about her ex again or at the very least seeing visions of her in her sleep, Rosy was pretty sure it was a mixture of the two which was only making Dove extremely angry and depressed. All she actually wanted was Loki to ease her stress but this mark would not allow her the comfort. Rosy had even held her for a while as Dove had cried her mixture of frustrated and sorrowful tears. In the end, Dove could hardly swallow all of it down and Rosy had to leave her with little answers that actually helped.

Loki got to her feet. No way was she accepting this willingly, "The hell Dove?!"

Dove forced herself to push down the painful frustrated conflicting feelings and turned sharply, glaring into Loki, but before she could say anything, Loki was grabbing her, the two struggling against each other and knocking things over as they staggered into the nearby closet door. Dove felt her back hit the door with a gasp and her eyes glared into Loki's but then they instantly softened, searching around inside two pink orbs filled with a mixture of anger and pain and confusion. She felt Loki pin her wrists on either side of her face and diverted her eyes, unable to look any longer, "Loki… stop… you're making this so difficult to do…"

Loki leaned close, pressing the side of her face against the crook of Dove's blank neck side and a pained whimper Dove had never heard from Loki before slipped out in a shuddered breath, "Then don't… Dove, don't do this… please I'll be better, just… don't leave me. I… I love you."

Her eyes filled with a blur of tears at Loki's words and her heart broke. Loki hadn't done anything wrong. She was the problem. And yet here was this girl, so perfect for her who she wanted so much it hurt, faulting herself for the fact that Dove was too weak to deal with all of this. It was once again too much. She felt a sudden spike in the pain in her mark and twitched, trying to shift her head a bit to find relief from the pain. Loki being so close was causing more burning pain. How could she make this work right now? She wanted to wrap her arms around Loki's head and take it all back but the mere thought was causing her brain to rage with agitation and the mark on her neck to sear with fiery pain.

She wanted to go back to when this mark only was an inconvenience and simply gave her emotional discomfort that she could navigate, even if at times poorly, and just deal with the self loathing somehow but this new stage she was suffering was so much worse. She hadn't noticed until it happened that Loki had moved a hand from one of her wrists and was holding her cheek lightly, face still hidden in her neck, stroking her cheek with such a soft touch it felt so foreign, "Dove. Please. I know ya love me. Why are you doin this to us? Let me in. Tell me what to do to help."

Dove was shaking all over. The pain was increasing and was now beyond her threshold of what she could stand with all Loki's affections. Her legs trembled madly at the pain and her arms jerked a bit, head straining and neck tense as she whimpered, her voice weak and practically begging, "Please… just let me go…"

It was aimed at this mark and what hold it had on her but when she felt Loki tense and her shoulders shutter in the emotional wave over herself, she couldn't bring herself to clarify, finding this to be better this way. The pain was subsiding as Loki sadly released her and that cooling relief was so calming to her ragged thoughts she felt sick how much control this mark had, practically trying to train her behavior. She still couldn't look at Loki, arms hugging herself as Loki swallowed hard and barely choked out, "O…ok…"

The girl backed up away from Dove until her legs hit the bed and she slowly guided herself to sit, face dropping into her hands and leaning into them, unable to hold herself entirely together but able to at least keep herself silent, her trembling shoulders gave her away though. No this was so much more than the pain the way this hurt her heart. Damn the pain in her neck. She stepped towards Loki and reached out. The moment they touched the pain was returning and the more they touched and the closer they got the more it increased, blazing on her skin.

She moved Loki's hands from her face and slid onto her lap, pulling her hands to rest around herself and moving her own to hold Loki's face. She didn't stop her own tears as her thumbs wiped Loki's away, her head and neck twitching and shoulder rolling to try to deal with the burning feeling on her skin as she sat there, "Baby please I… can't watch you cry…Not you. You don't cry. You… you did nothing wrong… it's all me… so much is going on in my head and I'm… it's too much to balance. I'm too overwhelmed… I desperately need space to coop. Not because I don't want you but because I can't…. handle all of it right now."

She leaned forward and kissed Loki's tears, grunting in pain it hurt on her neck so badly but refused not to. Loki could feel Dove's entire body jerk and tense with her grunts and she was worried but it was obvious that was all the information she was going to get. She tried to hold Dove closer but that proved a mistake and Dove pushed back, slowly getting up and moving away from her, fiercely rubbing her neck and going to finish unpacking. They didn't talk the rest of the evening and when they went to bed, Dove would only allow Loki to hold her hand from a distance. Loki watched her clinging to that crow tightly and curl up around him and she rubbed her thumb across Dove's fingers sadly, wishing she could do anything to help.

—-

Their relationship stalled at this new dry spell and distance but Loki was just glad the idea of a complete break up hadn't come back up. She wished Dove would tell her more but with the spring festival around the corner for now she was just hoping she could convince her to go. Venere and Raiden had gone into town to pick out outfits, Raiden having actually asked Venere in some weird text form as a date to it this time rather than as friends, spurring Dove to give the "about time" response. It left them alone in the suite.

Dove was hunkered down at her desk doing school work with her hand clasped over her neck, rubbing it lightly, a calm focused look on her face that Loki couldn't stop staring at. She could watch that face for hours. To Loki, Dove was extremely beautiful. Every facet from her dual colored hair to her pale skin and fine features to her two different eyes. Sure, she admired everything plenty during the throes of intimacy before but outside of a lustful gaze, when she was just looking to look, she truly adored the sight. It made her heart ache that she hadn't been able to even hug Dove or kiss her in almost two weeks. Dove didn't glance over as she spoke, no tone or emotion in her voice, "Loki. Don't forget to swallow if you are going to drool over there."

The pink haired woman blinked and grinned, getting up from her spot on the floor where she was leaning against their bed and moved close, noticing only dove's eyes move to look at her with a warning. She held her hands up at first but then she couldn't help reaching out and gently turning Dove's chair, kneeling at Dove's feet a bit and smiling up at her even though Dove was folding her arms unamused, "Have I told you how stunning you are?"

Dove narrowed her eyes for a moment but Loki had noticed the brief flash of pink on her cheeks before Dove had swallowed it down, watching those eyes scan Loki's face before turning away. Dove generally pinned her bangs back when she worked on class work nowadays in order to focus better and Loki loved being able to see both those radiant, vivid colors on that flawless face, "Loki… what are you up to?"

The woman didn't miss Dove's fingers scratching at her neck or the way her lips tensed at the way it was irritating her but none of this mess would do. Loki gently touched Dove's knees, waiting a moment noticing that pink dust lightly on Dove's cheeks again and remained this time even though her neck only seemed to bother her more. 'I thought so. Whatever it is, I'm making it worse the closer I get. Dammit I don't know what to do,' Loki thought and nibbled her lip.

She gently leaned forward and kissed Dove's kneecap before leaning away, "I just wanted to let ya know. That's all Babe. I'll let you get back to it."

Dove's face confused Loki. It flashed in a mixture of disappointment and relief so quickly and awkwardly that Loki didn't know how to respond to such a glance. Luckily, Dove eased back towards her homework in her desk chair with a soft breath and leaned into it more heavily, tuning everything around herself out this time and nearly hiding her face from view so she wouldn't be distracted again. In truth, Loki had wanted to go in for the kill and take Dove right there with every dripping once of love and passion pint up in herself that she was used to lavishing her lover with but knowing her touch was the reason Dove was so uncomfortable right now had stopped her. That wasn't a pain Dove had ever been ok with so it was a line Loki would never cross and was determined to respect.

She set herself onto the bed and leaned back, reaching for her scroll in her pocket. She knew the band would be back in town to play at the festival. They had continued to do so in order for the campus to keep their studio in shape and it keep them a home town reputation as Troy liked to say. Loki waited for Rosy to respond to her message to find out when she would be around and like always the dutiful adoptive older sibling like figure to all was quick to answer, 'I knew you would reach out sooner or later. Meet me at the diner in thirty. We HAVE to talk.'

Loki felt queasy at that but sent a thumbs up. The diner would be at least a twenty minute walk so she figured she needed to go ahead and go now. Dove could hear her putting her boots on and sighed, "Are you just going to ignore your coursework and copy mine again?"

Loki chuckled. She got up and walked over, placing the quickest of pecks in Dove's hair and smirking at the hitched breath from her lonely girl before she spoke as she walked towards the door, "Relax Babe I just have to meet up with someone about somethin important. I promise I'll do it when I get back. Don't overwork yourself, yea?"

Dove just sighed heavily as she heard Loki leave. The pencil in her hand dropped to the desk with an annoyed grunt and she leaned back in her chair, head hung back to stretch her neck. One hand ghosted over her knee where Loki had kissed her skin with a sad whine at how just the thought of Loki's lips on her skin made her neck seer painfully, her other hand rubbing it. Her eyes scrunched tightly and she frowned before she shifted to hang her head, staring at her legs where Loki's hands had been. She missed Loki's touch so much but hated the way it hurt and caused the alarms in her brain to sound due to the mark.

Her fingers traced the area where her lover's touch had been, not bothering with the burn on her neck as she tried her hardest to train herself not to care, to ignore it so that she could work towards her new normal again. For now it's bearable though she can feel herself getting emotionally irritable. She bit her lip thinking about Loki as she dragged her fingertips up her thigh with her eyes closed imagining it was Loki's fingers but the closer she got to her core the more it hurt on her neck, not making it to the hem of her short shorts before it was too much and she pulled away with a frustrated sigh.

She slammed a fist into her desk and hunched over it, "Dammit!"

She pulled her other hand to her face and rubbed it as she felt her eyes water, leaning into the desk and trembling with grit teeth as she quietly cried angry tears. Her clenched fist swept the papers off her desk, partly out of anguish and also to not ruin them with her water works and have to start over.

Loki stepped through the doors of the diner and sat in the usual booth areas that they would all choose when with the whole band. She was a bit early but that was fine by her. It was going to be too much to sit in that room and watch Dove and ignore her own desire to be close right now. She kept replaying that look Dove had given her in her head, that mix of disappointment and relief that Loki had backed down instead of charged ahead. What did Dove actually want in that moment with how things are right now? Did Dove even know? What could Dove even actually handle?

As she tried to understand, the warm familiar face of the snow leopard slid in across from her, "Been here long?"

She glanced up at Rosy and smirked though her weary eyes betrayed her, "Heh wouldn't you like to know? So, whatcha need to talk to me about?"

"Oh come now Loki dear even you aren't that dense. We both know you are here about Dove. Don't play coy, you aren't good at it," Rosy said before she leaned her chin into her hand on the table.

Loki sighed, fiddled with her fingers, "You know somethin don't ya?"

"Of course I do. the Songbird called me during your spring break," Rosy watched Loki as she spoke.

Loki was being way too solemn and it didn't suit her. The waitress interrupted the unpleasant silence and Rosy just got them each water, Loki thankful for a moment to take a breather and finally speaking when the woman left, "Suddenly, I'm hurting her just being close to her… she almost dumped me… I don't even know how to help. All I can do is watch her suffer and it's awful. It's got to do with whatever the hell is on her neck right? You all know somethin I can tell. It's a faunus right?"

Rosy sighed and stared out the large window into the darkening evening sky. She thought hard about it. There were details Loki clearly picked up and details she knew people were saying, even things Fern had said, but she knew Dove had said nothing which meant the young woman didn't want to tell Loki about it. Even rosy didn't know everything and it wasn't like mate marks were a book with the story open for all to read so even she didn't know everything and Dove didn't tell anyone the details that she did know. Her eyes glanced back to her friend who was clearly miserable trying her best to figure out how to give love to someone that held her heart that she couldn't get close to anymore and Rosy felt for her. Her eyes turned back to the window and she stared at the stars, "Loki… Your pretty little Songbird is staring longingly at the clear open skies with clipped wings. She yearns to soar and fly. But no amount of want or desire will ever get her off the ground. If you push her from her roost or throw her in the air, you'll only cause their more pain when she plummets to the earth than if she tried on her own. No amount of forcing her will help her ever fly again. She has to learn to be able to enjoy the sky… from the ground and get used to that ache in her wings to feel the wind run through them freely. When she does, she will be ok."

Loki watched Rosy and sunk into her booth seat. The analogy hit Loki deeply and it instantly upset her to know she couldn't protect her girlfriend from this one or rescue her in any way, "But…why is it so bad now?"

Rosy turned back to Loki, "Look. I don't know everything. She doesn't talk about it with anyone. I respect that. I know you do too. We both know it's a mate mark, I know you've heard the faunus talk about it, heard Tegan say it. When I saw her at the break, it was very raw and bright red and the skin was burning and inflamed. I know you can't see that as a human but trust me, her faunus ex is causing issues right now. I'll tell you what I told the Songbird based on all the details. I think it's either her faunus is desperately desiring her, the stress she was recently under has her body automatically desiring the faunus's protection and care because of the mark even if her actual desire is for it to be you, or it's a mixture of both, especially since you seem to be agitating the condition."

She waited to let Loki absorb the information and their water arrived, taking a sip before she continued, "But I don't think the new severe condition will last. Give her a break she's going through a lot then there's school pressures and her mom and you. You guys are twenty. You're young just trying to get through life and things are stressful. I know it's hard on you too but trust me it's really hard for her right now. She really loves you, so very much and this is really stressing her out. She needs to find a way to either ignore it or overcome it in order to get things back on track with you but you need to give her the space to and the control to take it at whatever pace that takes no matter how long."

Loki was nodding. Rosy knew that Loki was probably already trying to do that but she felt it needed to be vocalized to help Loki relax some about it. She was more than certain Dove could tell it was weighing on Loki and that wasn't going to help her stress at all. Dove needed the grace and support to figure this out without the emotional pressures of Loki's own struggles with the situation even if Loki was doing her best. Rosy reached over and held Loki's hand, "You want to help her?"

Loki nodded, "More than anythin."

Rosy nodded with a grin, "Get her to go to the festival with you. Prince will keep the shitty faunus clear so you two can just be left alone. Just take her for a peaceful time. No shenanigans, no chaos, just… love her. Let her decide if it goes further and how much. Dance with her like you did that first time. It was so simple and you two were lost in each other. We'll play the perfect song, trust me. Just remind her who is still here, still holding her hand. Remind her who hasn't left her. Her brain will do the rest."

Rosy watched the gears turning in Loki as the large familiar smirked grin of the pink haired woman's excitement began to emerge.

—-

The time came for the festival and Loki had indeed convinced Dove to join her, finally winning by convincing her Prince was going to play bodyguard with the bullies and that Rosy wanted her to go. Dove still fit in that dress from before and Loki thought it would be only fitting to rewear her suit as well, rolling her sleeves as Dove adjusted her tie. Dove was happy doing so didn't flare up any sensations on her neck but it did make a soft smile appear on her face, patting it lightly, "You really do look great in this. So, do I have the pleasure of my girlfriend taking me out tonight or will I be out with her male ego this evening?"

Loki grinned at that, feeling some bit of her usual lover at the surface after so long. She felt for fun and to help keep Dove's mind far from her ex, she would allow herself to swing towards the knew, always fine either way, too tempted to resist, leaning in as she reached to fix Dove's bangs over her blue eye, lips dangerously close to Dove's, "I think you'll find I'll be quite a good boy for you tonight Babe."

She preened at the sound of Dove's breath hitch and pulled back before she could make Dove irritated, watching but thankful she hadn't set her off. All Dove was doing was nibbling her lower lip. That was a good sign. Hell, if Loki had to make the switch more often just to be closer to the woman she loved she was fine with that sacrifice but for now she was still hopeful for both their sakes it didn't have to come to that.

The evening went off fine. Dove held onto Loki's arm and was fine for a while, taking breaks when she clearly needed it but Loki staying positive and keeping her usual fun air around them seemed to really be helping. When they got to the dance, Loki offered a hand that Dove took while rolling her eyes and was led off to the dance floor. With a nod to Rosy, who also gave Dove a kind wave, the band set out on a song for the couple. It wasn't a song that would require any formal training to dance to but Dove was nervous. She listened a bit and Loki gave her hand a squeeze, "Babe. Don't think about it too hard. It's just you and me and a song, yea? We aren't doing anythin but dancing."

Dove stared at Loki and grew flush nodding, closing her eyes and feeling the soft pull as Loki guided her close. It burned but it was bearable as they moved across the dancefloor. Dove could remember their first dance here years ago and her body melted in the warmth of that feeling like the world was all gone. It almost felt like a weight was draining from her body even though her neck hurt. She raced with memories of every tender moment after anything they did where Loki proved time and time again that she was the one to truly love Dove and it wasn't just a sexual attraction or comfort in a niche acceptance in each other that was needed in the moment. It wasn't a toxic parasitic love, it was real, it was meaningful, it was kind even when it was fierce and dangerous, it was kind and safe and warm.

The day that I met you

The world had just spit me out

On my way to the bottom

Sure I'd never be found

Then you saw me for me

Made me believe in myself

On the day that I met you

It all turned around

You said close your eyes

Don't look down

Fall into me and I'll catch you, darlin'

We'll dance in the street like nobody's watching

It's just you and me and the song on repeat in my head

Playing over and over

I'm drunk on your voice, high on the moment

I'd fall for you twice if that's what you wanted

I'd give you my life from now 'til forever

I'm falling in love with you

Over and over again

Until I had met you

There was no sun in my sky

No mirrors for monsters

No love in sight

Then you walked down those stairs

And I knew my heart wasn't mine

On the day that I met you

My whole world came alive

You said close your eyes

I got you now

Fall into me and I'll catch you, darlin'

We'll dance in the street like nobody's watching

It's just you and me and the song on repeat in my head

Playing over and over

I'm drunk on your voice, high on the moment

I'd fall for you twice, if that's what you wanted

I'd give you my life from now 'til forever

I'm falling in love with you

Over and over again

I'm falling in love with you

I'm falling in love with you

I'm falling in love with you over and over

I'm falling in love with you over and over

Fall into me and I'll catch you, darlin'

Let's dance in the streets like nobody's watching

It's just you and me and the song on repeat in my head

Playing over and over

I'm drunk on your voice, high on the moment

I'd fall for you twice, if that's what you wanted

I'd give you my life from now 'til forever

I'm falling in love with you

Over and over again

Fall into me and I'll catch you, darlin'

Let's dance in the streets like nobody's watching

It's just you and me and the song on repeat in our heads

Loki spun her holding her up, Dove's hands rested on her shoulders looking down at her with a smile as the woman grinned at her before setting her down. Troy had been singing this song but it was very clearly new and written just for Dove. Like the first time, the world had disappeared and it was just the two of them in her mind. She even forgot all about the screaming in her neck as she stared at those pink orbs gleaming at her. Her hand reached up and touched Loki's face softly, "Take me back to our room… now…"

Loki didn't need to be told twice. She took Dove's hand in hers and pulled her along back to their dorm, hardly making it through their room door before dove grabbed her by the tie and was kissing her deeply with hungry lips, backing Loki into their bed. They fell over the edge and Dove pulled away with a gasp, reaching and pulling the dress up and off her body before her fingers reached down and worked Loki out of her vest and shirt. Her lips pressed back into Loki's and Loki could see the tears in Dove's eyes as they kissed. Dove missed Loki just as much as Loki missed her. These weren't lustful kisses. These were passionate kisses chasing a hungry desire to feel that love they shared this way.

Loki gently held Dove's hips as the girl straddled over her own and leaned up into the kiss, all her passion and feelings pressed through this gesture earning a weak whimper from Dove. When they finally pulled away reluctantly for air, Loki moved fingers to wipe away the ones running down those pale cheeks and whispered softly as she kissed at Dove's jaw, "I love you. I love you more than anything. I will never leave you."

Dove whimpered and nodded but she twitched a bit at her mark on her neck and turned some, rolling her shoulder against it and Loki laid back, giving her space to let it calm down, watching her carefully. As frustrating as it would be for her body, she was more than happy to do nothing if that's what Dove needed. Dove's hands kneaded into Loki's arms as she stared down at her and bit her own lower lip, "Loki… I think… I'm sorry… it might be too soon for this it's… too much… but… hold me?"

Dove felt strong hands pull her down on top of Loki and wrap around her and even though it hurt her neck she was able to take it, ignoring it until her body calmed down and she could ease her mind, kissing at Loki's skin, "I can do this… but it may be the only time ever that I need things to be soft and gentle… it has to be… so you aren't like her… can you be that for me like a good boy?"

She felt all of Loki tremble beneath her and the woman tilted Dove's chin lightly to look at her, "I think I've needed you long enough that it will be fine if it's what ya need, I can do anything."

Dove was laid back and waited as Loki stripped and got the underwear and length on, taking off the rest of her clothing as she waited. Loki was surprisingly calm and capable of gentleness. Dove was well aware that in time this would be unsatisfying and frustrating but for now, it would do as long as it took to get Loki close again. Muscles flexed as her pink haired gremlin loomed back over her, soft kisses ghosting along her skin without a single nibble or bite and it was intoxicating how calm her mark on her neck was.

At first, Loki's hands gently pulled Dove's thighs to her hips and she slid the length back and forth along wet folds as she kissed softly at Dove's jaw and chest, traversing along the front of her neck between the two until Dove was a twitching mess in her arms and holding on tightly, locking Loki's lips in that loving kiss and tongues sliding along one another, urging Loki to give her more. The entry was soft, slow, deep, and every thrust was careful and full, dragging along her front wall and causing her head to reel. Her legs locked around Loki's waist and speed progressed at just the right moments until Dove was hugging Loki close to her body, clinging tightly and moaning her love's name, whimpering in her fall over the edge.

Loki was so pent up seeing Dove's orgasm, feeling how desperately Dove was holding her close and how move of Dove's body was against her own after so long, had her pressing her hips tightly into Dove's as she too came, both riding their high down until Dove was squirming a bit and whimpering, a hand rubbing at her neck as it was starting to irritate her. Loki gently pulled out and tossed the gear away, lightly rolling Dove to her side and curling on her own side in front of Dove. When Dove started to cry again, this time more heavily, Loki gently tucked the plush against her chest under her chin and kissed her fingers, brushing hair from her face, "It's ok Babe, I'm not going anywhere. Take your time."

The most loving look in Dove's watery eyes looked back at Loki, the quietest whisper making her heart swell, "I know… you're my open skies…"
