Chapter Six

-"I might as well tell you guys everything because I have a feeling he got himself into trouble again. Steve went to Maui to try to convince Catherine to give them another shot. He found out from Joe she was blackmailed into joining the CIA.

-"Blackmail, everyone said!

-" Yeah, they showed her a tape of Steve killing Doris' old boss.

-"That was self-defense. We know that, but Catherine didn't because the idiot never told her. She didn't believe it but agreed to protect him and Five-0.

-"Damn said Lou, I feel so bad for the things I said. I do, too said Danny, but we want to see him happy. Anyway, she has been dating some guy named Alex and he plans on asking Catherine to marry him on Sat.

-"How did he find all this out? Ask Chin.

-"I don't know; Joe got Catherine out and told him never to tell Steve because she had seen all the pics and posts from Lynn on social media. She refuses to interfere in his life. If he was happy, then she was happy for him.

-"He came up with this dumb plan called Operation to get my girl back. He got Catherine's boss to send her to Maui on false pretenses. Kamekona flew him over and was supposed to pick him up this morning. Kono, can you try Catherine's cell? Kono called and said voicemail. The team can't believe it.

-" It's Kamekona, I put him on a speaker. Brah, you need to get here asap. Both phones are here. There have been some type of struggles, some blood and the alarm has been cut. Damn, I knew it. Can you call one of your buddies to fly us over? Yeah, I call TC to pick you all up. Magnum friend TC. Yeah, that's him. Don't touch anything else until we get there. Let's go, they grab their go bags and guns. Leave it to Steve to get in danger. Danny, it's not always his fault said Kono.

-"In the meantime, Catherine's Dad opens his email. There was an email from his daughter. He was so happy she was out of the CIA now. He opens it, and though it is strange, it is a video. He hit play, and there is Steve and Catherine gagged and tied up with a distorted voice saying they wanted 20 million and would call back in an hour with instructions. No cops, or he won't see his precious daughter again.

-" He goes what the hell and calls the governor since Steve is involved. Governor Denning speaking. Governor, this is Admiral Rollins. What do you know about McGarrett being kidnapped?

-" McGarrett kidnapped nothing; he took a week of personal time. Why?

-"Because I just bent sent a videotape demanding 20 million for my daughter's release. I didn't know they were back together, and neither did I. I need your best team for this. I can pay the 20 million, no problem, but I want these criminals caught. You got it, sir. I have Williams, Steve's partner, contact you. We will get them back.

-"You better make damn sure you do because if anything happens to my little girl, there will be hell to pay.

-"Governor, call Danny. Williams, where are you?

-" We are on our way to Maui. Something happened to Steve and Catherine. I know her Dad just called, and he got a video for a ransom of 20 million. 20 million? He has that kind of money. Yes, but he wants his daughter found. I text you his number so you can work together and keep me posted.

-"I don't believe it. The governor said Catherine's Dad got a ransom video for 20 million. The Admiral has that kind of money, asks Chin. Yes, he does. Who knew, said Lou? I called him when we landed. Thanks, TC, and tell Magnum we say hello. Will do and let me know if you need help getting back. We will.

-"They rented an SUV and drove to the cabin. Kamekona is on the front porch. Did you touch anything else? No, brah, I have been sitting here waiting for you. They put their gloves on and walk in.

-"Chin checked out the alarm system, saw where they cut the wire and put a towel to muzzle the alarm.

-"Kono said wait, that's the same thing Paul Delano did when he broke into your house. Lou said I don't recall that case. It was before you came to Oahu.

-" Paul Delano blames Chin for killing his brother. He murdered Chin's wife and tried to murder me, but Adam saved me. He is delusional.

-" Kono checks to see if he is still in jail. They first walked to the guest room and found Steve's watch and phone on the nightstand. Also, the pics they took at the photo booth. By the looks of these pics, I say his Ops is working said Danny. His phone showed about 30 messages and missed calls from Lynn. I guess she is not giving up on him said Lou. She will have to; he said he was only pretending with her, and Catherine is the only woman for him, said Danny. Chin, see if you can get any fingerprints off this phone.

-"There is another bedroom across the hall said Chin. There is some blood here a small amount in the hallway. Not enough to be fatal said Lou. Chin said It looked like Catherine was sleeping in here. Maybe his Ops is not working. Here is her phone and watch. She had some messages from Alex. Let dusk this place for any prints. See if we can match the blood. I will call Catherine's Dad said Danny.

-"Admiral Rollins, this is Detective Danny Williams from the Five-0 task force.

-"What did you find?

-"Sir, I hate to tell you, but it looks like they have been kidnapped. Both phones are here, and there is a sign of someone breaking in.

-"Do you have any leads?

-"Nothing concrete, but we are looking into Paul Delano.

-"Who is that?

-"He kidnapped our coworker a couple of years ago for revenge. Steve and I arrested him and put him in jail.

-"Why did he take my daughter?

-"She helps locate him by satellite for Steve.

-"McGarrett, I told him the last time if he let anything happen to my daughter, I was going to ring down holly hell on him.

-" Sir, it's not Steve's fault. Delano is one crazy son of bitch. His entire family are criminals. He is in for the money. Steve would die before he let anything happen to Catherine.

-" I know you are right. What do I do? I can pay the ransom. Can you send me the video you got? When are they supposed to call you back? In an hour. We put a tracker on your phone and listen in. Where are you? I am in Texas. I talk to my tech guy about getting us a link to the video also. I will be in touch. Thanks, and find my baby. Now, to call his wife.

-"Jerry, I need your help. Steve and Catherine have been kidnapped. Catherine, what are we doing to get her back? Don't you mean to get her and your boss back? Right. We need to set up a tracker on Catherine's Dad phone and a video link for us to listen in without them knowing. I text you his number so you can get started. I am on it said Jerry clearly upset.

-"Kono said guess what. Delano was paroled due to medical and overcrowding. His last known address from his parole office is here in Maui. It has to be him. Let's head there now. Kamekona, why don't you hang back in case we need you to fly us to their location? Okay, I like the fresh air, so no problem staying here.

-"They get to Delano's apartment and just kick the door open. None was there, but they found the address to where Steve was staying. Also, they find a piece of paper ball up in the trash can with Catherine's Dad name and number on it. Well, we are in the right place. I just love stupid criminals said Danny.

-" Let's see what prints we can find and run them. Hey Jerry, I got the tracker on the Admiral's phone and a connection where we can see him and his computer. That's good, Jerry. I sent you the link.

-" I found some prints said Kono. She ran them. This guy was Delano's cellmate. He hooked up with him. There are a couple more from low-life criminals. Run them to see if they are addressed in Maui.

-"Danny's cell ring. It's the Admiral. Sir, I will be online with you when they call. Ask them for proof of life. Go ahead and agree to the wire; we can get your money back. We have a lead on where they were staying.

-"The call is coming through now. Okay, good; I hang up but will be listening in. Danny clicked on the tracker link that Jerry sent him. The voice was distorted. He said you have the money ready for wire? Yes, but I need proof that they are alive, or I am not sending a penny. Okay, hold on. He went live and showed Steve and Catherine. He took the gag out of Catherine's mouth. Say hi to your Dad. Don't do it, Dad. He immediately re-gags her.

-" Okay, send me your bank information. My bank is standing by to do this and said it should take 15 to 20 min. It has to pass a federal background check for this amount. Fine, but it better not take longer. My daughter better be unharmed. He hung up. Jerry, you get anything. Yeah, they ping off a tower out in farm country. Kono said that it makes sense. One of the fingerprints shows a guy named David, who has an Uncle on a farm in the country. I got the address. Let move.
