Author's Note: I own nothing from Invader Zim. The show itself belongs to Johnen Vasquez, and I am just a fan of the show. I don't own anything, I have always been a fan of the show and I figured that it was time for me to write my own fanfiction. Since I have been reading a lot of Invader Zim stories recently.

Prologue: Time Again

"Ugh! When will Dib be ready!" Zim yelled as he tucked his uniform in, today was the big day. All Irken invaders were getting assigned a new planet, and Zim was hoping to get something other than Earth. He has always dreamed of invading a planet that is not quiet as…stupid. Ever since The Tallests banished him to Earth, he has changed, a lot. He is now the top of his class in skool, he and Dib are friends and he is now preparing to get a new invader job.

Everything was going smoothly for the alien this moment, he had to wear his best uniform because The Tallests were also doing inspections on which Irken is the best dressed. Zim couldn't pass down this opportunity to be known as the best dressed Irken. He got out his tie, and tied it. Suddenly, Dib showed up, he was shocked to see Zim look so—Professional.

"Do you think The Tallests are going to give you a good planet?" His friend asked, as he went closer to the alien. "Yes, I believe so, Zim believes that he is ready for a new challenge. And guess what? You get to be in it!" He pointed at Dib who was in shock. "Me?" Dib replied, "b-but, we don't get along that well. We're not even close friends, you know." He responded.

Zim chuckled and sighed, "Dib, Dib, Dib… You know we are almost best friends, I got rid of Keef because of how annoying he was." Dib sighed, "you told me about the Keef story many times." He rolled his eyes.

That got Zim angry, "DON'T YOU DARE ROLE YOUR EYES AT ZIIIMMM!" He shouted. Causing a few people to look.

…

As soon as they made it to planet Irk. Zim was set to go first, he had on his best fit. The Tallests would have to choose him for Operation Impending Doom III. He waited his turn, and waited, and waited…But it never came.

Finally, Tallest Red called over Zim, Red was also shocked to see Zim so prepared for once. Usually Zim would come in his dirtiest Invader uniform. Usually one that hasn't been cleaned for weeks, Zim gasped as he saw The Tallests digging through the planet selection bowl.

"Zim….You get….Planet Blortch!"

This was when Zim's whole world crashed beneath him, he could see his friend in the audience looking depressed. Nothing could prepare him for what would happen next. "W-Why blortch my Tallests? I've come best dressed, and prepared." Zim admitted.

Both Tallests laughed and laughed, they looked down at Zim and sighed. "You know, Zim, we would've told you sooner. But, we think you are ready to hear what we have to say about you now. You, are not even an Irken Invader. You are a defect. We decided to tell you that you were going to Earth for a secret mission, only because we knew you would fall for it. You did, which was our plan the whole time. Your little…Friend over there is going to see what happens to Irkens who misbehave."

This caused Dib to panic, he wanted to open his mouth but he couldn't. He couldn't bear hearing his friend be called a defect. That was the worst thing anyone could ever say to his friend, he knows how much his friend has been through, and he knows everything that has been going on in between the fights. Just recently,m his robot servant GIR passed.

It was a dark day, and to call Zim a defect, broken, not good enough, made Dib's blood boil. He reached over for the Tallests and tried to scratch them with his sharpend nails. Both Tallests laughed, they laughed at the human boy.

"This kid is stupid—He's not even putting up a fight!" Tallest Purple said, "yeah, what should we do about him?" He asked.

Dib wanted to fight, but he couldn't no more. Zim was nothing, The Tallests lied to him this entire time, and there was nothing neither of them could do about it. Everything was too late.

END A/N: This is like a prologue/introduction to the story. This is not chapter 1, chapter 1 will have more introductions and more intros for the characters. Looks like the assigning for Operation Impending Doom III, didn't go so well.

The Tallests made fun of Zim and Dib, and now Zim could be going to jail. As I said, chapter 1 will be more lighthearted. Just wanted to make you all hyped and excited by putting an angst prologue.
