Erin and Jay were fast asleep in bed, until a screeching noise woke them from their sleep.
The cries were coming from Camille, who was fussing in her crib, her tiny hands up in the air.
Erin sat up on her arms, and looked at Jay. "Babe, it's your turn."
Jay opened his eyes, and sighed. "I thought it was your turn?"
"Well, you thought wrong, moron!" Erin smirked, feeling her jogging pants get caught with in the duvet.
Jay got out of the warmth of the bed and walked towards Camille's crib. "Come on, you, daddy's got you."
Camille kept crying, and Jay danced around the room and felt her diaper. "You don't feel full, baby girl. What is it? Are you hungry? Or, is it just cuddles you need?"
Slowly but surely, Camille's cries slowed down, and she was back to sleep. "There you go, sweet baby, there you go…" Jay commented.
Camille was now fast asleep in Jay's arms, and Jay gently lowered her back down into her crib, tucking the warm blanket around her waist.
"Now, Daddy can sleep." Jay mumbled under his breath.
He got back into bed with Erin, and snuggled into her arms. "She back to sleep, now?" Erin asked.
Jay opened his eyes, nodding. "Yep! Fell asleep, right in my arms."
Erin hummed, and rested herself on his chest. "Mhmm, you're a good dad, Jay."
"Glad you think so, babe." Jay smiled softly.
They were both fast asleep again, but this time it wasn't Camille who woke them up, it was Lila.
Lila walked in, clutching her stuffed frog and blanket, and she walked over towards Erin and Jay.
"Mama!" Lila whispered.
Erin woke up, and noticed her baby girl. "What's going on, baby?"
Lila sobbed and held onto Erin. "Bad dream, mama!"
Erin sighed, and held her daughter close in her arms. "My poor baby, mama's here, I got you, baby."
Jay woke up, and noticed his wife, holding their daughter. "Babe, what's going on?"
Erin, holding Lila, looked at Jay. "Lila had a bad dream, babe,"
"Oh, does she want a daddy hug?" Jay offered, opening his arms.
Erin shrugged, and looked at Lila. "Hey, do you want to be in daddy's arms for a bit?"
"Yes, I want dada!" Lila reached out for Jay.
Jay sat up, pulling her gently into his arms, and rocking her gently. "Wanna tell me what the dream was about, Munchkin?"
Lila shook her head, burying it into Jay's chest. "No! Too many ouchies, daddy!"
Jay nodded, not wanting to pressure her into telling him. "Okay, that's fine, baby."
"Daddy, me sleepy, can I sleep with you and mama?" Lila yawned, rubbing her small fists.
Erin and Jay shared a look, and came up with a plan. "Alright, tonight you can sleep with us, but tomorrow you're going to sleep in your big girl bed, okay?"
"O- Oh-Okay, mama and dada!" Lila nodded, agreeing with her parent's decision.
Erin and Jay smiled, and turned off their table light and Lila turned it back on.
"Li, we need to go to sleep, tomorrow is school day!" Erin sighed.
Jay agreed, and fell asleep on his arm. "See? Even daddy's asleep!" Erin whispered.
Lils looked at Jay and then back at her mom, and sighed. "Okay, mama! I go sleepy!"
"Good girl!" Erin nodded, leaning against the pillows.
Lila snuggled between her parents, and succumbed to sleep.
