Putting Saki and Haruki Straight
Not long after Fukumoto died, Reina and her companions stood at a park. It was a park from episode 14. "Ren, Wanyuudou, I am going to need your help big time with this quest" said Reina, sternly. "What's going on Reina-san?" asked Wanyuudou. "We need to stop a stupid man from making a stupid mistake that will kill him and ruin his daughter Saki forever" answered Reina.
Reina explained everything about Haruki Kirino; how he became bankrupt after his wife's death, how he decided to stupidly blackmail the mayor Ryuzo Kusunoki for money and then killing himself for never getting the money. "That man is stupid alright;" said Hone Onna "I do understand why he needs money especially if he's got a daughter to raise on his own, but taking down a dark path of black mailing other people for money will not solve anything for him or make his daughter happy". "Why is this man blackmailing the mayor anyway?" asked Yamawaro. "Well apparently the mayor and his son are associated with this Yakuza clan;" explained Reina "they haven't been doing any wrong things, except getting rid of those who have caused trouble in the city. But Mr Kirino calls this a good opportunity to get money from the mayor by blackmailing him about this". "For goodness sake!" exclaimed Hone Onna "that will bring that stupid man to his death and make his daughter walk down a wrong path". "You're right about that Hone Onna;" said Reina "after her dad kills himself Saki will think it was a murder and think about killing the mayor herself unless we do something to put her dad straight". "What are we going to do Reina-san?" asked Ren.
Reina led her companions to Saki's house. So far nothing had happened yet. "This is what we are going to do;" said Reina "Ren I need you to watch Haruki-san while he starts taking pictures of the mayor interacting with the yakuza clan. Then after he does that, you, Wanyuudou and I will have a word with him, man to man, and talk a lot of sense into him". Reina planned to disguise herself as a man to talk sense into Haruki.
It wasn't long till Haruki had spied on the mayor and saw him interact with the yakuza clan. Once he had his pictures, he was about to head to a phone booth to phone the mayor and blackmail him, but then he got stopped by Ren, Wanyuudou and a male disguised Reina. "What are you doing?!" shouted Haruki. "We are stopping you from doing a very stupid, bad thing" answered Reina.
Reina, Ren and Wanyuudou dragged Haruki back to the park and Reina confiscated Haruki's camera. "Sorry but we can't let you continue your plan of blackmailing the mayor for money Haruki-san" said Reina. "How do you know what I was doing?!" demanded Haruki. "We know quite a bit about you," said Ren "we know that your wife is dead, you are bankrupt and you are planning to do anything to earn money including doing something stupid". "But I have to do what I can for Saki's sake," said Haruki "I want to let her go to university and I also want to keep her happy". "We understand your feelings Haruki-san," said Reina "but earning money this way will not make Saki happy. How do you think she'll feel once she finds out her father had been doing criminal activates to secure her future? And what will your wife think? Not to mention Saki will end up ostracized by everyone because she'll be the daughter of a criminal. Do you want to risk having that happen?" Haruki fell silent for a moment, and then he knelt down onto the ground and cried his eyes out like a baby. He clearly didn't want anything bad to happen to his daughter. Reina sighed and raised her hand, ready to use her powers again; she had a plan in mind for Haruki.
While this was all happening Saki was asleep in bed when she woke up from some ding dongs and knocking on the front door. "Who could that be at this time of the night" she yawned. When she opened the door she found Reina, Ren and Wanyuudou, with her dad passed out. "What's happened?" gasped Saki. "No need to fret Saki-chan, your dad has just gone unconscious due to the cash money he had just won" said Reina. This was part of her plan. "What do you mean?" asked Saki, who was clueless about what was going on. "Sit down Saki-chan, we need to have a talk with you" said Reina.
While Ren carried Haruki up to bed, Wanyuudou and Ren sat down with Saki in the living room. Reina presented a paper bag, filled with 10 million yen inside; she had created it. Saki couldn't believe what she was seeing. "Saki did you know that your dad has financial trouble?" asked Reina. "Yes, dad did tell me that things hadn't been going well ever since my mother died," answered Saki "my mum's medical bills were huge and of course there was the cost of her funeral. And I once overheard my dad talking to a friend of his that our lives were going to be ruined with how things were going as my dad's job didn't pay him much". "Yes and that's why he decided to try and gamble with whatever money he had left;" said Reina "the truth is your dad was planning to do anything, including doing stupid things, to earn money to secure your future Saki". Saki was shocked by this; she didn't want her dad to do anything like this, even if it was for her sake. "Saki-chan," said Reina, seriously, "even though your dad won this money, but he was only lucky this time, but next time he won't be so lucky". "That's right;" said Wanyuudou "and your dad almost had plans to go down the path of doing criminal activities just to earn money for you". "What? But my father would never do bad things like that?" argued Saki. Like in the anime, she'd never believe her father had done something wrong. "Not yet he didn't but here is proof that he did plan to" said Reina. She presented a recording tape to Saki; she had taped everything she and Haruki had said after she confiscated the photos, except the part about blackmailing the mayor. Reina knew it wouldn't be easy to make Saki see the truth about her dad, which is why she had recorded Haruki's words for proof. Saki couldn't believe what she had heard and looked like she could cry any moment. "Listen to me Saki-chan," said Wanyuudou "all we can give you now are these pieces of advices. Don't ever copy your dad, even when you have a lot of financial trouble in the future. Gambling and committing criminal activities to get out of it will ruin you completely just like it would have done to your father if we didn't step in". "That's right," said Reina "therefore you continue working hard in school, attend university and get yourself a good job when you finish school. Oh and be on the guard to make sure that your dad doesn't try to do anything bad or stupid ever again". Saki tearfully agreed and promised she will work hard at school and get a good job in the future.
After that Haruki and Saki managed to get back on their feet again with the ten million yen. What had happened was Reina used her magic to make Haruki forget about his plan to blackmail the mayor, completely, and made him believe he really did win the money by gambling. Saki had a long serious talk with her dad and made him promise not to gamble ever again and not do any criminal activities even if it was for her sake. Seeing Saki upset with him made Haruki feel very bad for what he did and promised her he wouldn't.
So this time Haruki didn't make a stupid idea of blackmailing the mayor and getting killed for it, and Saki didn't go down a dark path of hating the mayor and wishing to kill him.
All this time Mayor Ryuzo knew nothing about what had happened. Thanks to Reina's interfering, he had no idea what Haruki planned to do. Right now he was just about to visit the retirement home for the elderly, when Reina came up to him. "You seem to be doing well Ryuzo-san" said Reina. "Oh Reina-san what a pleasant surprise to see you" said Ryuzo. Reina was using her powers to make out she was his friend. "So what do I have this pleasure?" asked Ryuzo. "I've actually come here to give a donation" answered Reina. She handed him a bag of 1 million yen. "I just recently and luckily won a lottery and I decided to give some of my winnings to his place. Hearing how you do so much for this place because of how you were raised by your grandmother, made me decide to do something too in honour of my grandparents who did so much for me too when I was a child". Reina remembered what Ryuzo's like was like and planned to give the place some money to get on his good side. "Oh that's very kind of you Reina-san," said Ryuzo "we can easily put this to good use for the retirement home". "Listen Ryuzo-san there's something I need to warn you about quickly and in private" said Reina. "What is it?" asked Ryuzo.
Ryuzo led Reina into his car so they could talk; the driver was not there yet. "What I want to warn you about are you to be careful about people trying to find out about your association with the yakuza clan" said Reina. With her powers, Reina had the mayor already know that Reina knew about this because of their friendship. "I got a call from a friend in another town about how another mayor, who also has a connection with a yakuza clan, got blackmailed by someone for having one. Of course the yakuza clan didn't do anything wrong and neither did the mayor, but this guy just went and blackmailed him all for money. So my advice is you be careful in case you get the same problem Ryuzo-san". "I am fully aware of what people do and don't do for money, which is why I try to keep my guard on" sighed Ryuzo. "Make sure you do especially for your son's sake as he would do anything to make sure no one gives you any trouble or such ever" said Reina. Ryuzo agreed.
After finishing her talk with Ryuzo, Reina met up with her companions. "Are we not going to do anything about the mayor and his association with the yakuza clan Reina-san?" asked Wanyuudou. Reina and her companions were watching the mayor visit the home center for elderly. "No it's best we stay out of that," answered Reina "besides, as I said before, they haven't been doing anything bad. The mayor makes sure of that. Let's just leave them to their business". The group left the town now that this quest was over.
I don't know about any of you but Saki and her dad were pretty stupid in this episode; none of them got the fact what their actions would do to each other and those around them. I hope you like how my character dealt with them.
