The Pentagon intelligence center was a hive of activity, a flurry of constant motion as officers and tech and specialist noncoms hurried back and forth or worked intently over individual consoles. On the largest screen two clusters of tiny shapes shifted their positions relative to each other with infinite slowness. A closer look would have revealed would have revealed that each one represented a ship, none of which belonged to a Carnival Cruise Lines.
Keller was staring at the big screen contemplating a limited and unpleasant number of options when the brigadier came up and alongside him. "Blue Force tracker has Chinese and U.S naval task forces approaching within one hundred nautical miles of each other," he mutters but Keller doesn't say anything just yet.
"Tell the battle group commander to wait for orders from Washington," he whispers, hands gripping the rail, "They are not to engaged under any conditions unless they are fired on first,"
The other man nodded and vanished back into the hurricane of activity. He was then replaced by Admiral Bingham and a woman. Keller blinks at the sight of the woman who had cuffed to her left wrist a titanium briefcase.. The secretary took no particular notice of it: he had seen many like it before in his lifetime. The woman nodded her head at him, her brown hair ending by her shoulders, the curls slightly bouncing. With her free hand she reached inside her jacket to flash her identification, "Mr. Secretary. I'm Charlotte Watson. I'm with Sector Seven- Advanced Research Division,"
"Never heard of it," Keller glanced at the woman before shaking his head with a frown, "If you don't mind, Charlotte, whatever brought you here can be referred to me through the usual channels. I'm a little busy at the moment,"
Watson seem to not be put out by the secretary's response but before she could replied, all the screens started to fritz. Eyes widening, Keller turns around as in less than a minute conversation and general discussion were replaced by complete pandemonium.
Unable to do little more than stare as the disaster unfolded in front of him, a horrified Keller spoke, his voice croaking, "Somebody talk to me?!"
The general who had reported to him earlier about the task force walked over to him, his face pale, "Communications are out, the virus...or whatever it was, was coded to shut us down. Our firewall people thought they had a handle on it…"
But Keller held up an hand interrupting him, "What do you mean shut us down?"
"It used our network to both spread right through the secure government web and jump to the public. Its a global blackout- anything involved with advanced communications is dead. Satellite and landlines are dead. Internet is shut down. At the moment, we have zero communications, both internationally and domestic.
Keller stares in disbelief, mutely shaking his head, "You mean to tell me that I," he walks over to the nearest desk, "cannot pick up this telephone and call my family," he frowns at the dial up noise that rang in his ear, dropping the phone before doing the same with his cellphone. His face scrunches up in annoyance.
"Mr. Secretary," he turns his head to see Watson sitting in one of the chairs, holding the briefcase in her lap. "I'm here on the direct order of the president. You need to see what I have in this case-now,"
Soundproofed as thoroughly as the best of modern sonic technology could manage it, Keller watches as Watson unfastens the briefcase from her wrist, "You'll have to accept, sir, that there are many things you won't understand right away. Sector Seven is a special access division of the federal government, convened in secret and established under President Hoover. There are many things some people will explain that would just drag us on but I'll cut to the chase. Aliens are real. Sir,"
Before Keller could open his mouth, Watson grew a thin smile, "A couple of years ago, 2003 , NASA lost the Beagle Two Mars rover. Following our analysis of the information that was made available to us from the JPL, my section told them to report the mission as lost, a complete failure," fingers dancing across the laptop's keys lightly, a pixilated video appeared on the screen. Blurry and imperfect but seeable, "It wasn't. The Beagle Two touched down successfully and began transmitting back to Earth,"
Pressing a key, the screen began to play, a field of rust-red rocks appeared, protruding from similarly colored sand. Abruptly, the image darkened by a moving shadow. The view whipped around sharply, as though the camera and its mount has absorbed a severe blow. There was a brief but unmistakable glimpse of something large, regular in outline, and metallic before the image gave way to static.
"As you can see," Watson leans backwards, "More than just a pile of martian rocks," Keller nodded his head in agreement, "And 20 years ago I met one of them,"
Keller blinks, "You met one of them?"
Watson nodded her head, "There is a war coming Mr. Secretary, and unfortunately Earth shall be in the middle of it. Luckily our people are trained to fight back even when they're not sure what they're fighting. They are not invincible. They can be hurt by our weapons, and unfortunately they now know it. That's the reason why they cut us off...and," she blinks, looking at computer before she curses, "Sir, I have to make this short because my team has just seriously fucked up. I need you and whoever you need to come with me now,"
The interior of the C-17 was big enough to carry cargo as well as personnel. Among the later were the remnants of a special operations team who were using the air time to contemplate what exactly happen. At least until they were given their orders.
Lennox opens his eyes, watching a different sort of team laboring over the piece of metallic tail that was cut off by the thing that had attack them. The table looking like a mix of a a surgery table and a machine shop, the team similarly equally divided between experts in repairing a body and those who could take apart and put together again everything from a muscle car to a microchip.
Leaning slightly, the leader of the research team frowns, watching the progress, "Unbelievable. It's some kind of self-regenerating molecular armor. A multiplicity of super-refined metals blended…"
Lennox shakes his head, blocking out what the man was saying, even though Epps headed over to them. He shifted his head, watching as another man, one in doctor's clothing, stain with blood and Lennox looked at him with hope. But the man didn't speak any words, just shook his head with a grave expression.
Swallowing, Lennox rushed towards where Fig was being cared for. Lying on a pallet in the temporary infirmary area along with the other wounded. The medical staff had made him as comfortable as possible. Fig didn't look comfortable, and neither did Carlos, the falcon was shimmering in a golden light. Both looked bad… really bad.
Lennox grabbed his hand, "Wouldn't have believed any of this… if I haven't seen it for myself," he croaks out a bit, each word he spoke took a taxing effort, "you… you promise me… you're gonna stop these things,"
Lennox swallows but tries his best to shrug it off, "Once you're out of that damn bed you can stop 'em yourself,"
But Fig smiles sadly, his eyes shifting to Carlos before he turns his gaze back to Lennox, "Promise me...I don't wanna die for nothing. Not with sand in my shoes,"
Lennox felt his mouth was dry, as if he was still in the desert . He tried to protest again, there was so much he wanted to say but it was clear that neither of them had he time. "Promise," at his friend's plea, Lennox nodded his head, tears streaming down his face. Fig smiles bringing his hand up and Lennox leans down. Blinking back tears, Lennox sees that Fig was holding something small and shiny which he pressed into Lennox's palm. Looking down, Lennox recognized the Saint Christopher's medal his friend has always worn around his neck. As soon as it was in the Captain's hand, Carlos let out a shrill cry, before turning into golden dust, drifting to the ground.
Shoulders trembling, Lennox gently close Fig's eyes. His whole body was trembling with raged, "Captain Lennox," his head snapped up, bloodshot eyes glaring at the man in the suit who quickly backs up a bit, "I'm...I'm sorry for your loss...but we need you and your men to come with us, pronto,"
Izuku groans as he was dragged by the arms, too weak to even put much of a fight. With a grunt, she was shoved back into her cell...gasping for breath and holding back the urge to curl in a ball.
"You fought well," Head snapping up, Izuku growls at the large being that stared at her with glowing orange optics. He laughs, "It is strange...usually I enjoy the look of confusion when an infierior being meets a higher power...but you don't have that do you..." he chuckles, gazing down at her, "No...you don't fear me...you feel anger, yes. You feel rage at the sight of me, wishing nothing more than to rip me apart...but let me tell you something fleshling...that will never happen," he leans closer to the bars, "You will give me some entertainment, but sooner or later, you shall die by the claws of my Terrocons...enjoy your limited time...my Champion,"
Izuku watches as he stalks away, before she slowly push herself up. Panting and wheezing with each breath, she scrambles backwards until her back was pressed against the wall. Bringing a hand to her head, Izuku grimaces as she pulls it back, seeing blood staining the palm of her hand.
Sighting, Izuku closes her eyes, trying to ignore the throbbing pain, "You did well," eyes snapping open, she finds herself in a void that was filled with glowing blue light. But Izuku's attention was turn towards the large figure standing before her. Spikes on the shoulders, as sharp as the claws on the end of his hands. Izuku took a couple of steps back, craning her neck up to look at him "You stood your grown, didn't show fear...impressive,"
"Who are you?" Izuku snaps, trying to calm her racing heartbeat, "How...how were you able to talk in my head,"
"You can blame your ancestor for this...the connection between us have been growing over the years, until it was strong enough for you to awaken it," he kneels down in front of Izuku, his claw finger coming close to her. And even though a part of her wanted to back away, she stood her ground. The tip of the claw went under her chin, bringing her head up more. "I have been watching you...people have declared you're powerless… a weakling...but here you are proving them wrong,"
Izuku frowns, "But I am...I'm Quirkless…"
"Just because you are Quirkless does not mean you are worthless!" Izuku takes a step back, her eyes wide, "I hate that this world seems to have the same problem as my own. People in power taking everything from those who aren't strong enough for more power than they deserve… and lying to them, saying its for the greater good," he looks to Izuku, red optics meeting greey eyes, "But you...you are like me...you want to wrap those who hold power above you in chains and march them in the streets so everyone can see who they really are. You want them to suffer and then to die in darkness,"
Izuku frowns, looking down at her feet. Because he was right...she had that feeling...ever since she was declared Quirkless. Well she didn't want to kill them...well maybe Scourge...but Kaachan...oh she would have love nothing more than show him what she really think of him. How much she hated him...but she wraps her arms around herself, "It doesn't matter...I'm going to die here...Scourge is right...I'm going to die in these Pits.."
"No...no you won't," Izuku looks up, and the giant robot smiles softly, compassion in his red optics, "I will train you...you will be strong, show the world that no matter what they throw at you, that you are still here!" Izuku gasps a bit, swallowing, "I was told many years ago...that what defines a Transformer, is not the cog in their chest. But the spark that resides in their core. A spark that gives you the will to make your world better...right now to the world you may be known as Quirkless Deku," and Izuku flinches at the nickname, but she lets out a meep as she was scoop up by his large gray metal claw, "But to me...and soon to them all you shall be know as Aurora,"
Izuku's eyes fluttering open as the sun shined in her face. Groaning in pain, she shook her head, looking around. IT was early and the sun was raising it scorching self above the sere brown rocks of the desert horizon that they were flying above in a helicopter. Frowning, Izuku turns her head to see Mei sitting beside her, the two of them sitting on the leftside of the helicopter's cargo hold.
"Well this is just Prime," Izuku grimaces, rubbing her head. She pulls her hand back, blinking to see instead of flesh, her hands were now covered in sliver metal, the fingers now sharp claws. Mei looks at her in concern, but Izuku was shaking her head, "Was going to happen sooner or later,"
"So what did they get you for?" Izuku turns her head to the blonde hair woman, who was now regarding her younger passenger with curiosity now that she was awake.
Izuku frowns before shrugging, "Bought a car, turn out to be an alien robot,"
The woman blinks at this while her seat companion mouths out, "wow," staring at her in shock.
"What about you?" Mei asked, yellow eyes zooming in on the woman seated across from her.
She shrugs, "Maggie… caught something, maybe one of them, hacking into Air Force One,"
"Huh," Izuku nodded her head, "Impressive… they are… very much advanced. Izuku Midoriya,"
The male sputters, eyeing Izuku with wide eyes, "I-Izuku Midoriya… you… you mean Aurora Primal? Leader of the Maximals,"
Izuku grins, showing her sharp fangs as the chopper begins to descend.
Izuku looked out the window to watch a group of soldiers emerging from a helicopter that had already landed. Taking a deep breath, she exits the chopper, watching as Simmons came over to her with a grin. She ignores him, looking over his shoulder to see the Secretary of Defense talking to the first group. "Hey kid," eyes moving to him, Izuku glares, "I think we got to a bad start. You must be hungry by now! Want a latte? A popsicle? What do you kids eat these days?"
"I want Bumblebee," Izuku growls and was about to grab at Simmons throat, before she smiles, "Looks like the cavalry has arrived,"
"Simmons!" The agent pales at the voice that was calling his name in that tone. And he turns to see the woman in a suit all but stomping in her high heels over to them, "what is this I'm hearing about you kidnapping two Japanese children out of Japan! One of them I have told you is off limits!"
Simmons stutters, "She… she made a voice mail to her little criminal friend about the NBEs!" He tries to defend himself, "M-madam why are you here? I thought…"
"Charlie, Hotel, Echo, Lima, Papa," Izuku smiles at the woman, "it's code for, Charlie, help," Simmons pale at this eyeing her with wide eyes, before he snaps his head at Izuku as she chuckles.
"You think the government wouldn't be interested in zombie robots that were brought to life by a crystal that originated from space," Izuku crosses her arms, "I may have not know the name of your little group, but I have been in contact. Charlie here is my… handler. I have her and those she trusts completely looking me over the years as my body shifts," she holds up a hand, "which you and your men in their too big britches just sped up,"
Charlie looks at her in concern, gently taking ahold of the arm, "Does it hurt?" At Izuku's shake of her head, Charlie sighs before she frowns, "I have told you many times, over the last three years, to stay away from her. But let me guess," she grins harshly making the man tremble in place, "you been hoping to one up me in hopes of taking command," she scoffs eyeing him up and down, "as if you would ever do so, not with the way you been treating Sector Seven with the amount of power you have been given."
"Madam… I'm just... just saying," Simmons gulps, "we got another one! Another NBE, with two we could,"
"You didn't capture him," Izuku growls, "Bumblebee let you capture him so you wouldn't hurt us!"
Charlie pales, "Bumblebee… you… you caught…" she grits her teeth in anger, "you will be lucky if you still have a job after this!" she groans, rubbing her face in annoyance, "so why don't you be a good boy and let the experts handle this,"
"And you're the expert?" The solider who seem to be in command of the group ask. "Because I would really like to know what attacked the base and kill some friends of mine!"
"What attack you was a Decepticon," Charlie explained as everyone gather around, "Follow me, Ladies and Gentlemen. Time is of the essence," and with that Charlie led them past the humming generators and inside the base, "What we are facing is an alien invasion,"
The soldier who introduced himself as Epps blinks, "Like...outer space aliens? Fuck man…"
Izuku nods her head, "There's two fractions, the Decepticons," she looks at Lennox, "and the Autobots. They been having a civil war on their planet for a very long time, even longer than they were fighting each other since both groups were fighting against their corrupted Senate ruled by the false Prime of Nominus. Unfortunately, the Decepticons didn't want any Primes to be in charge anymore and they didn't like that the leader of the Autobots became a Prime,"
"What a Prime?" Maggie asked, looking at them in awe.
"Its kinda...hard to explain," Izuku admitted, "A Prime is like their...spokesperson to their God, Primus...A Prime is their spiritual leader. They also have the High Lord Protector who is supposed to protect the Prime and be the leader of their military forces...in a different world...and not a jaded world," Izuku sighs, shaking her head. Megatron was the High Lord Protector to Optimus, even though he will deny it again and again. "Instead, all they got out of it was a dying world. A world that they were forced to flee from,"
A massive door loomed ahead. It would not have been out of place fronting an airline hangar- except that it was hundreds of feet underground, "You're about to see something few people know about, and even fewer people get to experience in person," Charlie warned as the doors beagn to move aside, rumbling, "Don't forget to breathe,"
As soon as enough of an opening appeared, Charlie led them inside. The underground silo was immense. Multitiered gantries and girders leavened with strands of tubes containing liquid nitrogen surrounded something frozen in blue tinted ice. Something huge, ominous...something Izuku had only seen in her dreams.
"Megatron," Izuku whispers.
Simmons who had been silent since Charlie had showed up smiles gleefully. "This baby's we first found. You're looking at the source of the modern age. Microchips, lasers, space flight cars were all reverse engineer by studying him. We call it NBE-One,"
Charlie glares at him, but turns to Izuku, "Your ancestor, Archibald Witwicky found him in the Arctic Circle. We think that as he approached our world, he came in too low to the North Pole and was pulled down by our planets gravitation force,"
"You don't get it," Izuku swallows, "That's Megatron...Leader of the Decepticons…" Charlie stares at her, dread filling her brown eyes as she snaps her gaze to the frozen figure.
"Ok...so leader of an army," Lennox whispers, "But why earth? What does our planet have anything to do with this war,"
"At first it was Energon," Mei said after a bit as Izuku stayed silent, still staring up at the frozen figure of Megatron. While they talked, no one notices her phone falling out of her pocket, and crawling quietly away on the floor, "Which is the life source of all Cybertronians. With their planet dying, so too was the Energon, but they learn that it can grow on other planets...not as much as it would on their own planet, but enough that it wouldn't let them starve...Earth so happens to be one of the many planets that Energon grows really well. But now its because of the Allspark,"
"Allspark?" Keller turns to them, "What's that?"
Izuku shakes her head, wishing she could rubbed her hand against it but figure that it would just cause more pain since her hand was now metal. "The Allspark is a sort of cube looking thing, that gives their kind life. During the war, Optimus, the leader of the Autobots was forced to send it out into the far reaches of space to keep it out of NBE-One aka Megatron," she swallows, "But Megatron went after it..the Cybertronians believe its on earth and if it is. Mr. Harbinger of Death here wants to find the cube and if he does will use it to transform all machine life into cybertonians and take over the universe," she tilts her head, staring up at Megatron, "Starting with Earth and giving it to me as a present,"
"As a…" Epps stare at her with bewilderment, "a present?"
"Yeah...Because of Archibald, I had a connection to Megatron...it why Archibald went crazy writing all those symbols," she gestures to the towering figure, "He's the reason why I survived the Pits all those years ago. And he has kinda adopted me.." she mutters, before turning to Simmons, "Just to tell you, he isn't asleep, he is wide awake knowing what you have done to him. He wants to rip you apart. Slowly, and painfully," Izuku watches as Simmons pale, but frowns when him and Charlie exchanged looks. Izuku's eyes widen as it dawn to her, "You know where the Cube is,"
Red optics glares at the rising blue smoke, watching in anger as a plane flew off, "The Energon, its worthless to me now...and its thanks to those two Autobots," sneers the cybertonian. They were quite slimmer than most, with silver metal taking most of their coloring. His arms though were a deep blue that matched the point parts of his feet. Two wings stood up, twitching a bit and showing the Cybertronian's true emotion. Though each wing was branded with the insignia of the Decepticons.
He brings his head up, turning it over his shoulder to look at much taller, and more fearsome mech that was walking towards them. They spoke no word, but a signal was emitting from their mask that hid his face, "Soundwave...has Frenzy finally reported?"
Soundwave nodded his head, and the mask's screen shifted. Reading the report, Starscream sputters, "Megatron...has an Heiress? A human one?" shaking his head, Starscream cackles, "Impossible...its bad enough that his sparkling is that blasted bug but a human...Frenzy must have lost a few circuits since his head has been detached from his body," he grimaces as Soundwave just stood there, years and years of working with the other has given him the knowledge of knowing when the other was annoyed with him. "But...if he has found Lord Megatron and the Allspark…" he turns to the console, "This is Starscream: All Decepticons out in the field. Rise up,"
"Barricade, need a groundbridge but I'm en route,"
A fence broke down as a large tank rode over it, driving out of an army motor pool. There was no one around to watch as it headed for the nearest highway, "Devastator reporting,"
He was soon joined by another, this one a large army truck that had a sort of crane attached to its back, "Bonecrusher rolling,"
Above a city, a military helicopter banked sharply and headed north. It was an MH-53. One that both Lennox and Epps would have recognized immediately, "Blackout incoming. All Hail Megatron!"
Though not as vast as the silo that contained the frozen body of Megatron, the chamber that held the Allspark was just as impressive. The Cube itself hung in the center of the brightly lit room, swathed in a web of umbilicals that both supported and monitored the aluen artifact in their midst. Izuku was staring at it in all as Charlie filled them in on some of what was known.
"Carbon dating of organic debris recovered near the Cube and from the same frozen strata outs it arrival here around ten thousand BC. We didn't find it til 1913," Izuku blinks at this, and Charlie nods her head, "Yep...many of us theorize that this Cube is what gave us Quirks, and why President Hoover had the dam build around it, to hopefully mask the energy that its leaking,"
"Energy?" Maggie asked, tearing her gaze away from the Cube, "What kind of energy?"
With that question they were led to a smaller chamber that was barred by a thick steel door that open to reveal a laboratory that must have been founded some time in the 1930s. "Everyone step inside please," Charlie told them, "They have to lock us in," Lennox look unhappy at that, but step inside, making sure to keep an eye on the two girls. The vault like door swung close behind them with a massive and loud boom. Followed by a series of metallic clicks as heavy bolts were slammed. Unlike the visitors, Simmons looked like he was enjoying himself, but making sure to keep it hidden from Charlie.
Epps gestured towards a series of deep parallet gashes that scored the far wall, "Who did they have in here? Freddy Krueger?"
Maggie's friend, Glen shakes his head, "Oh no man, Freddy Krueger has four blades. That's only three. That's wolverine," Epps frowns at the other as he made clawing motions with his hands.
"That's very funny," Simmons shakes his head, not amused at all "Anybody have any advanced electromagnetically devices?" he looks around, "BlackBerry, key alarms, flash drives, cell phone,"
Glen pulls out a phone and throws it to Simmons. "Ohhh," he mutters, considering the device, "cell phones can be real nasty,"
As the phone was place in the box, they were all handed goggles, slipping them on. Once he saw that they all had them on, Simmons thumbed some controls and the box began to thrum with energy channel from the Allspark and into the cellphone. Leaning forward, Izuku and Mei watches as the phone began to shake before it transformed. Izuku stares at it, and she could see that the little one was frighten. Frighten enough to not only slam itself into the box, but then bringing out a bunch of guns and starting to shoot at the glass.
While the others instinctively jumped back, Simmons muttering about how it was like an itty-bitty energizer bunny from hell, Izuku got a bad feeling when she saw Simmons was about to press the button again. Growling, Izuku kicks out her leg, hitting Simmons in the shin before she opened the box, ignoring how everyone other than Mei was yelling at her to not to. Placing her hand next to the small bot she croons, "Its ok," the others froze, hearing the clicks and almost pitch like screeching coming out of Izuku's mouth.
"That...that's the sound that hack the system," Maggie mutters and Keller nodded his head in agreement,
"You're scared...I know...but its ok...you're safe now," Izuku watches as the little bot eyes her wary, but deactivates his weapons. Scuttling on his small spider like legs, he crawls onto Izuku's arm and up to her shoulder, chirping madly at her, "I know...they are big and scary...a bit stupid but they won't hurt you...I promise...Highwire," the newely name bot blinks at his name and chirps happily. Izuku couldn't help but giggles as he climbed up her head and settle into her nest of green hair.
"How in the…" Simmons stares at her and then flinches as Izuku glares at him.
"Any child would be scared of waking up, having no idea where it is and realizing its trap surrounded by giants," she kept eye contact with him, green eyes slowly glowing red in her anger, "you have to remember the Allspark is how they create life. Just because they aren't human and are more advanced when they are born doesn't mean they don't start out as babies...or Sparklings as they are called,"
Silence filled the room, and Charlie was pale, looking like she was about to throw up. The only good thing the woman thought was that she had no control of this...she will always feel shame, and disgust that she did nothing to save the countless children they brought in the world, only to kill again...she hope that Bumblebee will forgive her.
At that moment though the floor rocked beneath them. Not enough to knock anyone off their feet, but sufficient to indicate that something was wrong. The lights flicker above them and Keller turns to the others, "They know the Cube is here,"
So guess who got inspired by transformers One...this person did! Gods I cried during that movie, I knew what I was going into but I still cried. But chapter six is finally here and gods it took awhile. But I think I like it. I change benneck to Charlie Watson, because I like her and I'm planning on her being the Fowler in this story...and yes that who she was calling. Sorry for those who wanted the maximals, they aren't going to show up yet since their all still in japan.
Anyway I don't think I mention it, but transformers are very much hard to described...so here is what who looks like. Right now most of them look like their Prime version, though Starscream has more coloring, like having the G1 blue paint on his arms and feet. Megatron is his Prime design because best design as is Optimus.
And yes if you are reading this on ao3 I have change the pairing from kaminari/iida to Kaminari/shinsho...I just like them better and honestly...I always imagine iida as aroace? Like...dude doesn't seem like someone who wants to date at all. platonic friendships are in! Also yes I am adding from oc transformers...as I said must of the transformers fandom I know is from Prime and the Michael Bay...and I finally got my friend Twilight into the fandom so don't be surpise if you see Melody and Ethan in this.
Also person who is asking about Megatron redemption, I will tell you that I do plan on having him be redeem, but it will take awhile! This is Megatron we are talking about, he has stubborn issues.
Anyway, I hope you all enjoy! Please leave a review i love them...and hope you guys are all well.
