One Year Later...
Ga Eul paused as she entered the Gu mansion and heard Jae Kyung bemoaning how *something* was not perfectly set and needed to be moved to the right a little more. She glanced to her left where she saw Sunny quickly hiding a bemused smile as she shook her head.
"She does remember this isn't her baby's 100th day celebration, right?" Sunny asked when she saw Ga Eul looking at her.
"Probably for the best," Ga Eul said. "When she and Oppaeventually have a baby, she will be insufferable for that party."
Sunny could not stop the giggle that escaped as she set her bags to the side. "Do we go derail her?" she questioned.
"Do we want to keep our arms?" Ga Eul quipped back, which only made Sunny laugh harder. "You do remember how bad she was during wedding planning, right?"
Sunny groaned lightly. "It's an experience I'd rather not remember, thank you," she said.
Ga Eul let out an unladylike snort as she also remembered just how much they had gone through during the weeks leading up to Jae Kyung and Jun Pyo's wedding. The two women had taken a week to hide away with their respective partners after the wedding had finally taken place and the newlyweds had been off on the first week of their honeymoon. Of course, upon their return, Jae Kyung immediately dove into planning her new nephew's 100th-day celebration.
Jun Hee had confided in her sister that she was glad that Jae Kyung had taken over planning the special event of her firstborn child. It allowed her time to adjust to motherhood without the pressure of ensuring the celebration was what was expected of the Gu family. Ga Eul had kindly reminded her sister that the celebration party was for the family and that Jun Hee and Ju Won did not need to prove anything to their family.
Of course, Ga Eul knew it was never that simple for their family. Business associates and casual acquaintances alike wanted to give their good wishes to the first grandchild of Gu Bon Hyeong, so the celebration had grown to the mass party Jae Kyung was currently spearheading the final touches for before it started that day.
In the end, Ga Eul had to agree with her sister. Jun Hee and Ju Won, ultimately, made final decisions with Jae Kyung about the most important of matters, but the finer details of the planning were left to the young woman. Ga Eul and Sunny, of course, had been dragged into assisting. It was not quite the whirlwind they had experienced as the woman had planned her wedding to Jun Pyo, but it came close.
"Has Jae Kyung-eonnie ever considered tackling an event planning business instead of taking over for her mother?" Sunny asked as they headed up the stairs to get ready, not wanting to interfere with the last-minute details the staff were handling with Jae Kyung directing them.
"Do you think any prospective clients could deal with her perfectionism?" Ga Eul teased. She laughed when Sunny paused, her head tilting.
"You have a point," Sunny finally said, linking her arm through Ga Eul's as they headed to the younger woman's room. It was a half hour before the door opened and Jae Kyung walked in, a slight pout on her face.
"Bon Hyeong-appaand Jun Pyo shooed me away," she said as she walked over and plopped on the end of Ga Eul's bed.
"Probably so you had time to get ready," Ga Eul said as she finished putting her hair up. She turned on her seat. "You have been going non-stop."
"I just needed to make sure everything was perfect," Jae Kyung said.
Sunny rose and walked over to Jae Kyung, hugging her. "Everything will be," she said. "Even if some of the most minor things aren't, it won't matter. Today is about family and all of us celebrating Jun Hyeong's birth."
"She's right," Ga Eul said. "Leave the perfection for the 100th-day celebration when you and Oppaeventually have your first baby." Sunny giggled as Jae Kyung blushed.
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet," Jae Kyung said. "We will just enjoy being the two of us for a bit."
"Not a bad idea," Ga Eul said as she grabbed her phone as it pinged, indicating a message. She grinned as she read it before setting it aside. "That was Jan Di. She said she misses us, wishes she could be here, and knows everything will be perfect and can't wait for pictures."
"I am sad she couldn't make it," Sunny said.
Ga Eul nodded as she got up to grab her heels. "Me too, but she has a really important competition this weekend, plus her brother is moving to there to start school. If not, I know she would have been here and probably would have brought Jason with."
"How did her parents take Kang San moving to the United States?" Jae Kyung asked.
"From what Jan Di said, they are ultimately happy for him," Ga Eul said as she sat on the edge of the bed after putting her shoes on.
"But?" Sunny said.
"But they are feeling a little lost," Ga Eul said. "In many ways, they have to fend for themselves now. All these years, once she was old enough, Jan Di was the responsible one, and Kang San was as well as he got older, following in Jan Di's footsteps. Now both of her parents have to be responsible for the things they do, especially her father. Her mom wasn't as bad, but a lot fell on Jan Di's shoulders."
"Honestly, it's for the best," Sunny said. "Jan Di is thriving over there, and the few times I met Kang San, he will thrive even more than her I think."
"I agree," Ga Eul said. "Kang San always was a little more focused and studious than Jan Di, so it didn't surprise me that he was offered a full scholarship to an elite school there and early admittance to a college once he graduates. Jan Di has matured a lot since moving there, I can only imagine how Kang San will do."
"We'll have to plan a trip to go visit them," Jae Kyung said. "I'd love to take you all to New York City. It's one of the cities in the US that I loved going to."
"Let's make those plans later," Sunny said. "It's almost time for the party to start and if I know our respective men, they'll come looking for us soon."
Ga Eul leaned back into the strong chest at her back as she felt warm arms wrapping around her as she looked out over the grounds of her family home, enjoying the night breeze as the sounds of her nephew's hundred-day celebration continued to linger on.
"Tired?" Yi Jeong asked after pressing his lips to her temple in a kiss.
"Mm," Ga Eul murmured. "Who knew this party would be as exhausting as Oppa's wedding day was."
Yi Jeong chuckled as he rested his head against hers. "Considering who planned them both, it's not that surprising," he commented, earning a huff of laughter from the woman in his arms. "Imagine when we have our own child how she'll be."
"You think Eonniewill let her plan it?" Ga Eul said. She poked a finger at his forearm. "How about we get through our wedding first before talking about children, hm?"
Yi Jeong laughed and pulled her tighter against him, pressing his lips to her hair before resting his head against hers. "I have already been informed I am not allowed to even discuss proposing to you until you are at least close to graduating from college," he said. "From both Woo Bin and Jun Pyo."
"So says one man who is already married, and the other who is practically engaged himself," Ga Eul grumped.
"I think we can remove the practically now," Yi Jeong said, lifting a hand to gesture to where he could see Woo Bin kneeling in front of Sunny. The two watched as Sunny covered her mouth and then nodded before Woo Bin slipped a ring onto her finger and rose to embrace her.
"Wonder how long it'll be before we're told," Yi Jeong said as he hugged Ga Eul closer as they watched the newly engaged couple embrace.
Ga Eul smiled gently and rested her head back against his Woo Bin and Sunny quietly left the garden area, heading towards where Woo Bin's car would be parked. "Not tonight, it looks like," she said. She looked down as she felt Yi Jeong slipping something onto her right finger. Her head turned sharply to look at him.
"It's not a proposal," Yi Jeong said quickly. "As I said, I've been informed I'm not allowed to discuss that until you are close to graduating college."
"Then...?" Ga Eul asked. Her eyes fluttered closed a bit as he pressed a kiss to her forehead.
"It's a promise," he said softly. "That I will always be with you and when the time comes, it will become a proposal. It's also a way to tell others that you are mine and only mine."
Ga Eul huffed a soft laugh, leaning back into his chest more. "As if they don't know that already, especially when you growl at people," she teased him.
"Well now they know even more, even when the growling doesn't sway them," Yi Jeong said with a grin. He rested his head against hers. "I love you, Ga Eul."
"I love you too, Yi Jeong."
Author's Notes: Time has not been kind to me lately with things, but I have finally gotten the epilogue up, drawing a close to this story. Thank you all for coming along the journey with me. Eventually, more stories will come, but sadly writing sometimes takes a back seat to everything else so I'll do my best to post when I can. I will say if you do enjoy my stories, I do not know if I will post new ones here, but please feel free to find me on AO3 where I will continue to post. I may finish out the stories I have in progress here and anything new will be at AO3. While I enjoy writing for others, I primarily write *fan fiction* for myself because I enjoy it but the hate I have gotten on this site has made it daunting. Thank you to those who have been encouraging, I have appreciated it and it's helped me to complete things when I thought maybe I couldn't because of other things going on in life.
