Ok here we go. Same timeline, but from Mrs. Jeepers point of view instead of Elena's.

Mrs. Jeepers third grade class was halfway through their daily lessons when the new student assigned to their class arrived. Principal Davis brought her to the classroom door and dropped her off.

Mrs. Jeepers introduced her and had her take the only empty desk next to Eddie Matthews.

Eddie tried to use the interruption to throw a paper airplane across the room, but she nipped that in the bud immediately. There was no end to the little idiot's attempts to cause trouble in her class. Hopefully this new girl would be like the other children, easy to control, easy to behave. She didn't need a female version of Eddie, as she glanced at the girl's red hair for a split second before returning to their social studies lesson.

The rest of the day progressed smoothly and Elena seemed to immediately insert herself into Liza and Melody's social group. Great… another kid who would likely become an avid "investigator" of potential monsters in Bailey City. Eddie's amateur sleuth team of friends grated on any adult's nerves.

The new girl Elena turned out to be easy to deal with for the most part. She was quiet and turned in her homework on time just like all of Mrs. Jeepers' other students… Eddie being the only exception to that. But one thing stuck out. Elena spent most of her class time spying on her teacher's every move. Despite her lack of attention to the material being taught in class, all of her homework and tests had endlessly perfect scores. So there really wasn't anything to complain about except her lack of focus during instruction time.

But as intensely as the girl watched her like she was trying to become Queen of the amateur sleuth club, she refused to meet Mrs. Jeepers gaze or look anywhere near her brooch. It was like an endless game of cat and mouse with her watching when it was safe to do so and looking away the moment Mrs. Jeepers turned in her direction. It was almost as obnoxious as Eddie's routine attempts to cause trouble in her classroom.

After a couple weeks of this behavior, Mrs. Jeepers became convinced it would be better for the Elena and herself to get the child out of her classroom and into a better learning environment where she would focus on the material instead of whatever amateur sleuth puzzle she thought she was solving. After speaking with the principal and examining the test scores, a decision was made that movement to the 5th grade was probably for the best. Now she just had to break the news to Elena.

When the bell rang and her students started the mad scramble to escape out the door as fast as possible, Mrs. Jeepers decided now was as good a time as any and called Elena over to her.

Elena approached her slowly, keeping her eyes firmly down.

"Elena, will you not look at me?" Mrs. Jeepers tried to coax the girl to meet her gaze. She needed to convince the girl this move was for the best.

But the girl fought hard to keep her eyes down, clenching her teeth slightly. This was not a good start to the conversation.

"Well anyway…" Mrs. Jeepers began, "I've been in discussions with Principal Davis and your state guardian. We all think moving you up to the 5th grade might be best for you. You are not being academically challenged enough in my classroom."

"Wait, what?!" Elena exclaimed and finally looked up at her in surprise.

Got her. Mrs. Jeepers smiled slightly to herself, finally getting to see those pretty blue eyes locked to her magnetic gaze.

"Elena…" she breathed softly. "We all want what's best for you. You barely pay attention in class and still pass tests with flying colors."

Elena was still fighting her. It was amazing. What drove the girl to struggle against her so much? Even full-grown adults would never bother to fight because they never even realized they were being influenced at all.

In the next second, Mrs. Jeepers flinched at the sudden smell of blood and averted her gaze from the sign of slight pain in Elena's eyes. She had not expected the child to literally hurt herself in her attempts to resist her influence.

The smell of blood still lingered in the air. She grabbed a tissue and held it out to the girl without looking at her. "Do you need a tissue?"

"Huh? Oh yes, I guess so." Elena took it from her and covered up crescent nail marks on her palm.

This wasn't working out well.

"If leaving the third grade behind upsets you enough to hurt yourself, then I suppose you can stay. Maybe I can discuss with Principal Davis about providing you some extra work to keep you busy." She conceded to the girl for the time being, just wanting her to leave the classroom as soon as possible.

Elena breathed a sigh of relief. "I would prefer that."

"Very well. Dismissed"

Elena bolted before any more could be said, and Mrs. Jeepers let out a deep sigh. She would have to go find some 5th grade level work now to keep the girl busy.

Well at least the girl was trying to act more normal in class. Elena still never made eye contact with her, but she tried to look like she was listening instead of just daydreaming all the time. Mrs. Jeepers tried to keep her occupied by silently providing her with 5th grade work. Maybe this could work out. It was only a few more months of school left and then the girl would move on to the 4th grade and be gone from her room for good. She would be someone else's problem at that point.

But after the students returned to her class from recess, things took a turn for the worse. Elena wouldn't sit still. She was as fidgety as if she had sat on porcupine quills during recess and could no longer get comfortable in her seat. She was also starting to look sickly, maybe she was coming down with the flu?

But despite this, the girl showed up the next morning for school, not only looking ill but also exhausted as if she hadn't slept all night.

This continued on for the rest of the week. She still did her usual schoolwork, but she was no longer watching her teacher. She would stare listlessly into space, as though she would drop dead at any moment, and Mrs. Jeepers could sometimes hear her stomach growling as if she hadn't eaten lunch. But her weight never appeared to decrease, even as she received reports that the girl was picking at her food during lunch and eating very little.

Mrs. Jeepers returned from her planning period break to be ready for her students who would soon be returning from recess. She stopped in the door of her classroom when she saw Elena, who appeared to be sleeping at her desk instead of outside playing with the other children. Elena seemed to inexplicably sense her gaze in the next second and leapt out of her seat to face her with surprising agility for someone who looked so ill. But once Elena realized who stood in the doorway, she quickly averted her gaze to the floor as usual.

This had gone on long enough.

Mrs. Jeepers crossed the room with more speed than wise and grabbed the girl's chin to force her to meet her gaze.

Mrs. Jeepers' green eyes locked on Elena's blue eyes and she asked with pure focus: "I ask you again: are you sure you're alright?"

Fury instantly filled Elena's face at the forced eye contact. "I said I'm fine." She bit out and wrenched herself out of Mrs. Jeepers' tight grip.

Then Elena rapidly looked away from her teacher's gaze with ease, as if it was nothing… And Mrs. Jeepers felt like cold water had been dumped over her head as many realizations came to her at once.

Elena angrily took her seat as other students became filing in and Mrs. Jeepers was quick to retreat back to her own desk to pretend nothing significant had occurred.

Her students worked in silence on their worksheets for some time. Mrs. Jeepers eyes' were fixed on Elena while the girl completed her worksheet. She studied every little detail of the girl. If her worst fears were proven true, how had this occurred? What was going to happen next?

The girl suddenly glanced up at her, probably unconsciously sensing the intense study Mrs. Jeepers' was making of her. Their eyes locked for a split second and the girl immediately blanched and ran from the room.

Mrs. Jeepers stood up immediately and followed her out, barking at her students to stay put and that she would send in another teacher to monitor them.

She caught sight of the girl racing into the bathroom and hurried after her. As soon as she entered the bathroom, she heard the girl hurling into the toilet. Ah… well that was just one more sign her suspicions were right, wasn't it?

She came up behind the girl and swept her hair out of the way, silently waiting for her to finish. Elena sagged against her when she finished. Just having the girl against her, Mrs. Jeepers could feel how low her core temperature had dropped. She no longer radiated any of the heat that came from all of her other students. She wrapped one arm around her, but hesitated…it's not like she could provide any warmth for the girl. But she could sense the girl was about to fall asleep against her, so attempted to pull the girl to her feet.

The girl started giggling like a possessed demon.

"What's so funny?" Mrs. Jeepers snapped at her, put off by the sudden erratic turn in behavior.

"I guess genies really do ride bicycles," Elena giggled hysterically, "And vampires definitely wear polka dots…"

A cold shiver passed down Mrs. Jeepers spine as more dots connected in her head. But she masked it well.

"What on earth are you talking about?" Mrs. Jeepers sighed. "You must be delirious with fever."

Elena's only response was laughing even harder.

"It's time to go to the nurse's office" Mrs. Jeepers demanded and dragged her to her feet.

The nurse was mostly useless as expected. But at least she confirmed there was nothing "wrong" with Elena beyond the obvious. When Elena passed out completely, Mrs. Jeepers made her decision and took over. She headed straight for the principal's office and made arrangements to take the girl home. That required some talking to the state guardian, some history on Elena's past (dead mother, absent father), and ample amounts of glamour of the right people before she had all of the paperwork swiftly in order.

The she was free to gather up the unconscious girl from the nurse's office and take her home.

The Clancy Estate was a very large house. So there were plenty of bedrooms to choose from, but very few Mrs. Jeepers bothered to keep clean and liveable. Mrs. Jeepers deposited the girl in one of those and went back to planning what she might need in the future. The girl would likely wake up on her own as soon as the sun started to set.

Even with her mind on other tasks, Mrs. Jeepers sensed the moment the girl woke and headed back upstairs to deal with her.

In attempt to reassure the girl from waking up in an unknown place: "Do you want to try to eat anything? I can make whatever you want."

Elena just stared at her in fear.

"I talked to your state guardian and the school Principal and they both agreed I could look after you until you're well." She couldn't help but smile to herself a little deviously at how well things had gone so far.

Elena's stomach chose that moment to growl loudly and her face grimaced in pain.

"Come. You need to at least try to eat a little." Mrs. Jeepers lured her downstairs to the kitchen.

Elena sat herself down at the kitchen table, pouting.

"I'm not hungry," she whined. "If you make me eat, I'll just throw it all up again. I can feel it."

Mrs. Jeepers crossed her arms and slowly tapped her foot in irritation. It was time to get to the bottom of the mystery.

"Tell me about this stupid genie you mentioned during your delirium in the bathroom."

Elena looked very embarrassed. "Oh that…Liza was convinced some new neighbor was a genie because all of her wishes were coming true. Melody, Howie, and Eddie's wishes also came true. But I know that sounds completely insane…" she trailed off.

"And what does a genie have to do with you being so ill?" Mrs. Jeepers hissed.

Elena clearly didn't want to answer and brushed her off. "Well, it doesn't matter now. Whoever he was, he's vanished. Not been seen in weeks. And nothing strange has happened since then."

"Nothing, except your inability to stay awake in class, and lack of appetite, and horrible sudden illness." Mrs. Jeepers pointed out. "Did you make a wish of some kind, Elena?"

"Why would I do that? Genies aren't real." Elena stared hard at her kitchen tablecloth.

"I would say you're lying because you can't look me in the eye, but you've never liked looking me in the eye, have you Elena?"

"That's because you make people do things they don't want to do!" Elena glared at her, suddenly unafraid to meet her gaze head on.

Mrs. Jeepers considered her for a moment, and then admitted quietly. "Only for their own health."

Mrs. Jeepers returned to the more important subject: . "I'm going to guess this pretend-wish of yours was ridiculous? Something to do with polka dots? I remember that also getting mentioned in the bathroom."

Elena just stared at her like Mrs. Jeepers was an idiot who couldn't do math right. It almost made Mrs. Jeepers crack and smile.

Instead, she whispered "Idiot girl" as she saw a hazy shadow of what she wanted to know reflected in the girl's mind. The girl had truly made some awful wish and it had come true.

"I think I hate genies more than leprechauns now, which is quite an accomplishment." Mrs. Jeepers remarked offhandedly.

Elena looked confused, but Mrs. Jeepers expected no response from her.

"What am I supposed to do with you now?" Mrs. Jeepers pondered aloud. "I have no way of finding this genie, if it's even possible."

"You could feed me. I'm hungry." Elena snapped spitefully, but blushed when her stomach gave another large growl.

Mrs. Jeepers snapped out of her thoughts and sized the girl up. Yes, she would have to. There was only one way to keep the girl healthy and intact now.

"Yes, I suppose I shall..."

Elena looked at her with fearful confusion. Maybe she had still been asking for a cheeseburger after all. But the time had come to really fix the issue.

Mrs. Jeepers led her into the living room and sat her on the couch. She rolled up the sleeve of her blouse and swift as lightning, dragged a fingernail across the surface of her bare forearm. Blood began to well up immediately.

The effect was instant. Elena was on her in less than a second. Not surprising considering how long the girl had been starving.

It had been a very long time since a vampire had drunk from her directly like this. Not since her husband had been alive and before that, she had only drunk from her own mother as a child. Feeding this child now in this way…. It brought back sweet memories and she stroked the girl's hair, lost in the complacent feeling.

Given that emotions were so easily transferred via blood, it was unsurprising the girl was practically purring in her lap afterwards, until she slowly drifted off to sleep.

While Elena was sleeping the day away, Mrs. Jeepers raided her bedroom and gathered up her belongings. She would have to make sure to keep the girl occupied while she was home "sick" and not in school.

The girl awoke at sunset as expected, well rested for once, but still ravenously hungry.

Elena seemed to have adapted fast, for she was quite eager to feed again from her teacher.

One good thing about being a child vs an adult. Children had no moral qualms or questions like a turned adult might. They were simply hungry, so they fed without restraint. Mrs. Jeepers mused to herself.

As soon as Elena had busied herself with the video games Mrs. Jeepers had brought over from her old bedroom, Mrs. Jeepers slipped away. She would have to hunt more frequently since she was now feeding two mouths: her own and Elena's.

Days passed and Mrs. Jeepers kept Elena busy with schoolwork or let her play video games or read books. The girl constantly asked when she was going back to school, but Mrs. Jeepers brushed her off. That was inconceivable. In the meantime, she was trying to find out if it was possible to place the girl with any vampire family she knew, but it was proving fruitless. Eventually, Mrs. Jeepers accepted the inevitable. She would have to go home to Romania and take the girl with her. There was no way to raise a vampire child safely around humans in a human school. She would lose control and someone would end up dead and they would be discovered. It was hard enough to avoid discovery with her increase in hunting activities she had had to do lately to keep Elena fed.

Well, at least her mother would be pleased. With her husband dead long ago, Mrs. Jeepers had lost all chance at a child of her own. And then the Fairy Stone had come into her possession and it had seemed unwise to get involved with anyone new. Mother would welcome this child with open arms, so pleased to finally have an heir of the next generation.

And when Elena had given the exact wording of her genie wish to Mrs. Jeepers, it made even more sense to take the girl home with her. If the genie's wish proved true, this girl was a potential inheritor of the Fairy Stone should anything happen to her one day. The Leprechauns believed only Mrs. Jeepers had power over the stone. Elena could be a secret insurance policy against their trickery.

Mrs. Jeepers made the flight plans during the day, to make it easier to keep Elena unconscious and uncomplaining during most of the journey. She could endure the future temper tantrums once they got to the castle.

It was sad to give up life in America, but it wouldn't be forever. Once Elena was old enough, they could go wherever they pleased. They had endless amounts of time ahead. There was no rush.

Ok yeah, I'm definitely going to do another chapter about her arrival in Romania in the early days. This fic may stay open-ended, depending on how much I want to keep adding.

I am going to start a completely different story I've been sitting on for a long time that involves Mrs. Jeepers' husband coming back. He's not a great guy in this other story and it's basically an excuse to have lots of hot, dubious consent smut. Boy on girl and girl on girl smut…. *wink*
