Hey to any and all possible readers.
* Long hard sigh* honestly, this is my own fault. I have been reading WAY too many Mystic Force fics these past two months. I know, I have problem. I guess I'm feeling… inspired to write my own or at least rewrite it I guess.
I'll admit I haven't written anything new in a loooong time, so I'm probably gonna be pretty rusty. So bear with me on this, this is kind of an experiment to see if I can still write anything interesting. I will have an OC in here. Her name is Kevanni, and she will be the Violet Mystic Ranger. She will appear to be a African-Asian American mix, but keyword being 'appear'.
I wanna take a minute to appreciate all the authors who have written a really amazing PRMF fics I've read over the years. Whether it's fully completed stories, or just one-shots, these are authors have fic I've gone back and read numerous times.
Shout out to SentinalofStories, Pink-Green-White-4ever, disastardly, Enigmaforum, Aviaries, RPM Shadow, coffeehelps, M14Mouse, Michael Weyer, CurvyCurlyGirly, and kathillards.
You guys are awesome and if any readers who are gonna read this fic haven't read any of their's yet, go do it.

Years ago,
there was a dimension filled with wonderful magic.
But then, darkness came into power,
and a great battle began between light and dark.
An army of the undead, led by a powerful warrior swarmed over the land.
Once they tore through this world, they set their sites on the human realm and beyond.
All seemed hopeless,
A small Legion of brave and true warriors came forth. The Mystics.
Against insurmountable odds, they battled the darkness heroically.
They drove the evil back from the edge of the human world.
Then, the bravest and most powerful wizard of them all cast a spell, sending the armies back into the Underworld's depths.
Sealed inside giant gates for eternity.
Evil disappeared from the surface world….
But great victory came great cost.
Many lives were lost on the battlefield that day, and the human world will never know of the great battle the mystics fought for them.
Even to this day, they live in peace,

MYSTIC FORCE
On a sunny day, just outside the the town of Briarwood, New Jersey, a young man rides a motorcycle to the cities edge. He stopped for a quick second near the town's welcome sign, looking at the view of the city below the mountain road he was on.
" So….that must be Briarwood" he said casually as he kicked off the break and headed down the road.
Around the same time, an 18-year-old a seemingly African-Asian mixed girl was working at a local boutique about a block or so from her house. This was her last summer in Briarwood before she would go off to fashion school in the fall. Working here gained her experience, with the added bonus of the owner being a friend of hers. Not to mention she gets " complimentary" discount on all the merchandise (Gloria said so).
" Keve!" Called Gloria, the store owner, to the young girl in question, " Yeah, Ria?" " Can you hang up these dresses in our summer section, they just came in today!" She squeaked excitedly, Kevanni joined her in delight.
" Wow these are so cute! Actually, that dress pattern…gives me a new idea for my outfit" she said hanging the dresses on the clothing rack. " Still having trouble with that fit, huh?" Kevanni whipped around to face her within exasperated expression, " UGH you have no idea! I have the top, jacket, and accessories done, I just don't know what to do for the dress part. This entry outfit has to be perfect for me to get into fashion school and I'm so stuck! " she finished slightly, banging her head on one of the clothing rack poles.
" Keve! Keve! Don't worry about it so much. You still have three more months to go, and besides, you're practically shoe in already. Remember, I went to an elite fashion school for a little while and seen what they expect from you. You've got the talent, sweetie".
" You really think so?" Gloria smiled softly, " I wouldn't lie to you" Kevanni felt a little reassured.
Gloria was no amateur when it came to the world of fashion, she had been a great mentor to Kevanni over the last two years. Despite that though, she always felt something was missing in her designs. Something that would truly inspire her, like most artists who create works of art. Some are inspired by places, some by music ( being an art it self), or even a person. Even still, with her growing talent in fashion designing and despite what numerous people have said about her work, it didn't feel right to her. Something was missing, but she just didn't know what.
Unfortunately, her thoughts were interrupted by a sudden strong earthquake that shook the whole store. " Oh Shit! Oh no! Quick Keve, get under the counter!" Gloria cried out. Kevanni did her best to quickly run, and hide under the counter, along with her boss, but was hoping the earthquake would end soon.
About two minutes earlier, a few blocks away, a popular music store called the Rock Porium was in full swing. The employees, who were all new high school graduates, exception of two of them were mostly goofing off. The owner of this music store was their boss, Tobias " Toby" Slambrock, who showed up unexpectedly in his snorkeling gear, and still half wet. The employees chuckled a little bit and wondered why he was back so early from his swimming trip. " Well yeah" he started " as a matter of fact, I was at the beach snorkeling with the little fishes and one came right up to my mask. He looked at me with these big fish eyes and he said ' Are your employees cleaning the store like they said they would you?' Now I have to go back in the water, back to the reef, find the fish and say 'No'" he said disappointedly.
The group started to look a little guilty, " Don't worry. Why do relax, boss? Take a breather" said the second oldest of the group, a young Australian named Xander. " I'll gather the troops and assign them things to do. Sweep the floor, stock the merchandise, put out the trash, etcetera" he said assured of himself, flashing his usual charming smile. " Oh, you mean the jobs I pay you for?! Guys!" Toby frowned.
Not wanting to wait around anymore, Xander started directing the others " All right, you heard the man. Snap to it! Chip, grab a broom. Madison, deal with the stock. And Vida, throw out the trash. Snap, snap!" They all gave him an annoyed look as they went to their tasks.
Meanwhile, Xander just plopped himself down on one of the lounge chairs. " And what are you doing exactly? " asked Vida, the oldest of group, with irritation.
" Glad you asked. I'm supervising" he said, smugly. She glared at him, " Hey it's not as easy as it looks. It may look like I'm not doing anything, but I'm actually super busy" " Uh huh" Vida looked ready to argue when the store got struck by the earthquake. " Earthquake!" Madison yelled. " Everybody take cover! " Vida shouted as she and everybody else scrambled to find cover. Chip being the goofball that he is shouted: " It's the end of the world! Ha just kidding" " Chip!" Madison cried as she pulled her friend down under the counter.
Toby tried to keep everyone calm, " Don't panic! Don't panic! Remember the safety procedures! Get under a desk!"
On the main street, the young man from earlier screamed as he fell off his motorcycle because of the rumbling ground. Luckily, he got off the ground virtually unscathed " Aw man! What the hell?".
In a mysterious location, book appeared on a wooden pedestal in the center of the room. Two voices spoke in the background, " Oh no! That rumbling...is that what I think it is?" " Yes, child. Our fears have been realized. The darkness has been unleashed".
" Is it over?" Madison asked, " I'm alive?" Chip added. " Don't be so dramatic" said Vida " Oh great. The store is even messier than before" she sighed. " You think that wouldn't be possible" Madison agreed with her sister.
" Well, the good news is the worst is over" Xander tried to assured them, " Than why don't I feel any less nervous..." Madison shivered.
" Good grief, that was a doozy! In all my years here, we got a few earthquakes here and there, but nothing like that!" Gloria said look around the mess of the store. " I'll say! Aw crap look at this place! It's at least going to take us another hour or two to clean up!" Kevanni whined.
" Yeah, I really got to hire extra help for us. Whelp! let's roll up our sleeves and get to work, the place isn't going to clean itself!" Kevanni groaned, " Don't worry. Once we've finished you can have a long break and I'll pay you for the overtime".
The young girl sighed, " Thanks but you don't have to do that" " Of course I do, you're my best employee" Kevanni snorted " I'm your only employee! That's the problem!" They both laughed.
That earthquake though... Why do I suddenly have this feeling of dread? Like something really...bad is about to happen?
Meanwhile in a mysterious and sinister looking pit surrounded by darkness and jagged rocks, stood an enormous black stone gate. Suddenly, a glowing purple orb burst through a crack in the door.
With numerous explosions setting off as it landed in strange woods, the orb transformed into a tall menacing looking knight, who arose from his kneeling position. With a sharp helmet completely covering his face, his armor was sharp and jagged with a dark purple color. Two silver wolf heads sat on his shoulders. He held a shield with a long sword tucked in a sheath.
His deep sinister laugh rang through the forest like a thunderous wind howl. " Yes! At the last, after all these years, I'm finally free!" He declared in a deep voice, " prepare yourself, human world, we are coming for you".
" After narrowly escaping death, the human species likes do deal with it in different ways" Madison narrates through her camera as she records her friends.
" Some use physical activity" Xander on his skate board.
" Some listen to music" Vida bopping to her beats on her huge stereo.
" And some like to eat. Tell me, Chip Thorn, what type of pizza are you eating?" " Shrimp, chicken, pepperoni, cheese...and chocolate marshmallows" he answered with a mouthful. " Madison cringed " Eww. A fine example of the non-human species".
She then turned her camera to get a view of the people walking up and down streets, when something caught her eye. A tan- skinned young man wearing a basic white t- shirt and jeans was working on his motorcycle. As she zoomed the camera in a little, he stood up and did a guy thing by wiping his face with his shirt. Her and anyone else around got a view of his toned torso. She immediately shut off the camera and blushed deep red color.
Oh my god what am I doing?! I'm not one of those floozy girls that take videos of hot guys just because! That's just really weird She thought. I'm definitely going to have to edit that part ou- " Help! Please, someone help me!".
Out of nowhere, an old man in a hat wearing overalls looking distressed. People gathered around him to see what was wrong. At the same time, Kevanni had been walking up the street when she noticed the commotion with the old man. Knowing she was too curious for her own good, she quickly jogged over to the other side of the road. " Please, it's my brother! We were walking, just up the street, when some creature took him! I-I fear the worst! It took him into the woods".
Unfortunately, the moment he mentioned the woods people started the shed away and become hesitant. " Ooh, the woods. Poor guy" Xander whispered to Vida "no one's gonna be crazy enough to go there, right V?...V?" Vida didn't seem to be paying attention to him. Her expression looked like she was seriously contemplating something.
" I'll go" Everyone turned to look down at the young man by his motorcycle " I could use a break" he said causally. The old man thanked him. Maddie slightly turned away from the new guy's direction and blushed even harder now that she got a good look at him. Xander went up to him to try to reason with him, " Hey mate, I'm Xander. You must be new here, which means you're probably not aware of all the facts. Weird things happen in those woods, most people brave enough to go in don't come out".
The new guy didn't look that intimidated " Uh huh, yeah, I've heard about it. Guy needs help and no one in the city seems to really care. Too scared it looks like" he said. " Whoa whoa wait, I'll go too! Not everyone in this city is a coward" Vida declared. " You know what? I'll go too! I've always want to go on a dangerous quest!...This is a dangerous quest, right?" Vida gave Chip a look. " Perilous" she deadpanned, " Sweet!" She just rolled her eyes at her best friend.
The stranger looked at the pair with an expression that meant " O-K then". He sneaked a quick glance at the guy Xander and ended up noticing the girl behind him. Unnoticed by the group, deep brown and pale green eyes locked on to each for a quick second before they were interrupted old man speaking. " Well, let's go" the four headed off to the supposed cursed woods. Kevanni was observing all of this, apart of the group background of people, which were now starting to disperse.
She looked at the guy, Xander was it?, who gave his friend a look, " Don't look at me, I'm the sister with common sense "she said, he threw his arms up in defeat. " Ugh, well...we better make sure they actually do make it out alive, come on" Maddie just groaned at her sister's antics as they headed to Vida's jeep.
Cursed woods, huh? I've always wanted a reason to see it for myself... Kevanni thought. She then made the snap decision to catch up to the two.
Unfortunately unbeknownst to every one there, they were being watched by a dark figure.
After they all introduced themselves formally, Xander, Madison, and Kevanni all rode to the edge of the supposedly cursed forest.
" So Kevanni, what reason did you really want to come with us?" Xander asked somewhat suspiciously while driving the car, " Because I'm just curious, really. My curiosity is always gotten better with me. I do like to discover new things, I've always wanted to see if this forest was really "cursed" or not... but it would be seriously dumb if I went by myself. You guys are going to make sure your friends are OK, so I just jumped at the chance".
" Huh seems legit" he said. " Trust me guys. I'm not some weirdo on the street. I've actually seen some you guys around school, except for that new cute guy, of course". Small lightbulb went off in Madison's head and she turned to her around to their new companion, " Oh wait...yeah I have seen you before. You were one of the best dressed people in the school" She said. "Yep, Go Dragons!" She mocked cheered," and thanks for the compliment that's really flattering" she added blushing.
" ' Go Dragons' would be a lot better if our football team actually won a game in the last six years" Xander chipped in, Kevanni snickered. " True that!" " I was taking pictures of the team for my photography club and I overheard a few of them talking about scholarships. Kind of makes me feel a little bad for all the players that didn't get enough wins. Can't really be a good look for scouters" " I don't do sport but yeah it's not good. That kinda reminds you about thinking about our future and everything now that we've graduated... which honestly is still kinda unbelievable to me" she said with far off look.
Madison sympathized "I hear that". " Well, I've gotten used to it since I graduated a year before my friends did. Along with our crazy friend Vida that we're trying to catch up with" Xander quipped in. " The short haired girl?" Kevanni asked.
" Yeah also my older sister" Madison answered " She not really into the college thing, much to our parents chagrin "
" Oh OK. What about you? Not into college or something?...Or did you just wanna take a year off?" " Well I did want to-" " There they are!". The Australian was interrupted by Madison spotting, her sister and the others.
Vida did not look happy to see them, or more specifically Xander, " Xander! I told you if you ever drove my car I'd rearrange your limbs!" " And if you go into the woods and never come back, you'd never see it again anyway" he sassily fired back as the three got out of the car. Chip snickered " He's got a point" Vida glared at him harshly and put his hands up in defense.
" Your my sister, V, where were you go... even if it's in the creepy cursed woods that we're probably going to regret later" Maddie said. The older sister in question noticed the new girl behind Maddie, " And you are...?" " oh me? I'm Kevanni or just Kev or Keve for short. As to why I'm here, well, like I told your friend and your sister here, I have a terrible curiosity habit and I might want to offer my assistance. That's all ". Vida looked suspicious " She's cool V" Xander said in her defense.
" And now there are six" mumbled the old man. He proceeded to lead them into the forest.
The group of six were walking in the forest for about less than two minutes and they're already starting to get a bit nervous. Anticipating for almost anything to happen based off the stories and the supposed creature that carried off the old man's brother. " Ok this place is starting to creep me out" Maddie said " I'll say" Xander added. Unbeknownst to the group, the old man had stayed behind a tree and watched the six move forward into the forest.
" Hey we should be calling out the old man's brother's name or something?" Kevanni suggested, " I mean… I guess thats a start" added Chip. " Hey Old guy! You out here?!" Vida snorted " ' Hey old guy' really?" " What its not like the old man told us his brothers, name or anything. I didn't know what to call him" " Thats actually a good point" Kevanni agreed.
She was just about to call out to him to when she suddenly stopped. She felt… Different all of a sudden, like the atmosphere had changed. It seemed like Madison felt it too, " Huh? What was that? Did you guys feel that?" she asked, " Yeah… I did. And come to think of it. These trees look different too... OK this is getting reeeally weird.." Kevanni said timidly.
" Wait a minute..." started the new guy and somewhat frantically looking around, " Where's the old man?" " Oh you've got to be kidding me?!" " Ten seconds in the woods and we're already lost! Alright!" Chip said, with a weirdly giddy attitude. Xander shot him a weird look "Why are you acting like that's a good thing?".
Not knowing what else to do, the six trudged on through the mysterious new forest. Chip seem to have the most fun out of this whole situation as he was rambling on and on about different creatures that supposedly lived here.
"I also heard that a witch lives here! she's hideous! With green skin and a black tongue with yellow drool that slowly drips down to corner of her mouth when she speaks" he said excitedly.
" Eww!" Kevanni said disgusted " You've been reading too many fairytales, friend" the new guy added. " And besides, you're probably talking about a hag not a witch, though they can be pretty ugly too" the girl added. Everyone paused to turn around and stare at her. " What? I read a bunch of fairytales growing up. It was just a hobby" she said casually, with a hint of nervousness.
The new guy spoke up again " Look guys there's no such thing as witches or hags" as they all turn to look at him, they suddenly got tense and looked scared. Something was behind him.
" Oh ok now you're messing with me" he said, smirking " Oh someone's behind me! So scary! Boo!" and he chuckled a little. " Someone is behind you!" Vida cried. The guy finally turned around to notice the creepy black cloaked figure behind them. He jumped back and scooted closer to the others.
No one knew what to do in that moment as the figure kept creeping closer and closer to them. The sisters held each other's hands for support, while everyone just huddled together, frozen in fear. The new guy seem to be positioned in the front, sort of holding his arms back, looking like he was trying to protect the others.
" Anybody wanna run? "Madison trembled, "I tried. But my feet won't move" Xander added, trembling just as much. " This is exactly why I didn't wanna go in the woods by myself!" Kevanni squeaked.
Suddenly, surrounding them were creepy, armored, humanoid creatures with weapons. They made strange growling and snarling noises. " Uh its got friends!" Vida yelled, swiftly moving your head from side to side.
The figure in the cloak quickly took notice of the extra company, bringing out a silver wand with a white snowflake at the top, they spoke in a commanding feminine voice.
" Mysto Aerotan!"
Before they even had time to react, six broomsticks flew towards them, caught them on their clothes, and flew them straight into the air. They all collectively screamed in terror, while Vida and Kevaani ended up letting out a terrified " OH SHIIIIIIIT!". They all dangled and thrashed around as they were being flown to some unknown destination.
They helplessly flew through the air for a few minutes, due to the speed of the brooms, and when they approached an enormous tree. While the others were still trying to grasp their broomsticks, Chip figured out how to get on top of his and ride it like he was in a Harry Potter movie.
The brooms ended up lowering themselves and dropping them in front of a huge open wooden dragons head with red eyes. They all groaned in pain.
" Ouch! What the hell?!" Vida growled.
" I second that" her sister agreed.
" Ok ow. So, new guy..." Xander started painfully getting up " now you know why no one goes into these woods".
" The names Nick" he said as he held a hand to closest person which was Madison. She gave him a small smile, and he gave one back " Thanks" she said softly" No problem".
" What is this place?" Kevanni asked dusting off her clothes.
" I call it Rootcore" said the cloaked woman from before, who suddenly appeared before them.
" Quick in here!" Chip and said, as they all quickly backed into the mouth of the dragons head.

Inside the dragons head was a completely different story. The six couldn't help to look around in awe at the inside. It was all carved in wood with tan stone floors. The walls were covered with different colored glass that had shelves full of potions, books, other strange magic items. The brooms that brought them there magically set themselves against different colored holding spots with some sort of symbol on them. " This...is...so...cool!" Chip gushed, while he looked ready to bounce off the walls in excitement. " Ditto" Kevanni agreed grinning " this looks like something straight out of a fairytale book".
" I thought is best to bring you all here. It's not safe in the woods for someone who is unprepared" Said the cloaked woman at the top of one of many staircases. Xander being ever people person, greeted her first, " Hi I'm Xander. It's uh nice place you've got here, it's really… " he knocked on the center table" woody".
She removed her cloak to a reveal beautiful red-headed woman who appeared to be in her late forties. She was dressed in all white with a long sleeved flouncy blouse under a floral pattern corset, white pants, and a layered sheer cloth tail along her back. Her hair was in an intricate style that almost looked a crown. Her green eyes were warm and inviting, and somewhat hypnotic. " Greetings, I am the sorceresses Udonna. Welcome to my home" she smiled brightly.
" So awesome "Chip mumbled excitedly to himself. Udonna continued," when the six of you entered the forest, you stepped into a magical dimension" "A parallel dimension outside of Briarwood? Do we live in a great city, or what?" the red headed boy gushed again. his friends only rolled thier eyes.
" A few years ago, there was a great battle in our world. Dark magic conquered our realm and was about to enter your dimension when we finally defeated them, and sent them back to the Underworld... but at a great cost" her eyes went slightly downcast, as if thinking of a sad memory. " The gate was sealed with a powerful spell. However, during the recent earthquake, a crack appeared in the gate, and evil has finally managed to slip through" she said seriously.
" Uh... remember me? Xander. Yeah Hi. Look, I'm just wondering what does this have to do with us?"
" What it means, is that it could be the end of both of our worlds" Udonna responded. Nick chuckled " Yeah. Right. That's kind of stretching the truth don't you think?" " Is the truth, everything I've told you has happened. And what is also the truth, is how I know you six, Nick, Vida, Xander, Madison, Chip, and Kevanni where chosen" she stated.
The group looked even more confused. " How did you know our names?" Asked Vida.
" And how did you know we were chosen?" asked Madison.
" And chosen for what?" Xander quipped in. Chip and Kevanni stayed silent for the others basically asked what they were thinking, while Nick was still skeptical.
" The Xenotome. The book of the unknown. It told me that you six would arrive here given the opportunity" the group came closer to get a better look at the mysterious book on the pedestal. "What kind of language is that? I've never seen it before" Madison inquired.
"It is the language of the ancients. In time will you soon learn it. As for what you've been chosen for… " she opened the book to a specific page and, with images of six people with wands all in battle stances " It is said that when evil rises again, six mystical warriors from the human realm will step forward to fight this evil".
She turned to face them " You are those five warriors. You will be...the Power Rangers."
All of them just gaped at the news they heard. " Shut. Up." Kevanni said in disbelief, " No way! That's so cool!" Chip was practically jumping up and down where he stood. "Hang on! Wait a second. There's gotta be some mistake. Our high school hasn't won a football game in like six years" Madison and Kevanni snickered a little, remembering their previous conversation in the car.
" There is no mistake. Destiny chose you for a reason whether you believe it or not all of you are destined for great things. And to help you on your journey..." the sorcereress snapped her fingers and six different colored wands appeared. Each of the tops, like Udonna's, had a different shape representing a mystical creature.
A red phoenix, a pink butterfly, a green minotaur, a blue mermaid, a yellow garuda, and a violet griffin.
The magic wands floated to each of the six. Nick Red, Vida Pink, Xander Green, Madison Blue, Chip Yellow, and Kevanni Violet. " Never go anywhere without them."
Runnings footsteps could be heard coming from one of the rooms. A curly blonde girl around their ran calling the sorceress " Udonna! Udonna! I need to ta- Oh! Your here! Excuse me for a second, Udonna" She smiled brightly but quickly whispered in Udonna's ear, expression turning serious. " You must stay here until I return. Do not go in the woods by yourselves" she ordered before snapping her fingers and disappearing in the shower of white sparkles.
" Oh! I really wish I could do that. I practice and practice but...nothing." The others still looked confused on who she was, " Anyway, hello again. Um, I'm Clare, a sorceress in training at Rootcore" " Uh huh" Nick said, who was just about at the end of his rope with all of this.
" It's so great to finally meet the chosen ones" with that, he had enough, " Ok, that's it, I'm leaving" putting down his wand and getting ready to head out, others expect Kevanni followed suit. " Oh, no. You can't go. Udonna said you had to stay right here until she returned"
" Look, You guys seem like nice people, but there's clearly a mistake here. So we just...better go" Madison said awkwardly. " Oh, this is not good. I know, I will conjure a spell that will freeze you where you stand until Udonna gets back" They backed up, slightly nervous of what the blonde sorceress in training was going to do.
" Um...Korum Oviat Ditrob!" Unfortunately for Clare, it only ended up turning her into a sheep. Which was enough distraction for the five to leave, " Oh boy, Udonna is going to be ma-a-a-a-ad at me!"she bleated in her sheep form.
" Guys wait!" Kevanni tried calling out to the others, but they were already out the dragon's door. She was hesitant to leave because 1. she didn't know anything that was in this forest and the possible dangers (she was curious not stupid) And 2. She looked at Udonna and Clare, both their auras read that they could be trusted, that there was a goodness about them. She was glad to know her super power was working.
" Aren't you going to le-e-e-ave too?" I asked Clare, and even though she was a sheep, you could tell she was dejected. " No. I don't know how to explain it, but I have a way of reading people to see if they uh...well...can be trusted I guess. Despite the completely unconventional way we got here, you and...Udonna was it? seem like people who know what they are talking about. Despite how crazy this all looks..." she stated.
" Thank you that makes me feel a little better" Clare perked up, " but the others need to be here! They could get hurt out there".
" My thoughts exactly. Then we probably should go get them and convince them to come back" Kevanni declared quickly rushing out the door too. " Yes, lets go-! Oh no you forgot your" she sighed " ...wand. I'm not very good at this! Wait for me!" Using her sheep legs to move as fast as she could.

In another part of the forest, the others were trying to find a way out it. They hesitantly walked a bit more until they stumbled upon a village, or what was left of it. What would've been wooden huts and farming supplies were burnt, broken, and scattered everywhere. People who looked straight out of a fairytale book or a DND game where trying to clean up and help the wounded.
The five looked on with a mixture of horror and sympathy at the woodland creatures dilemma. " Who are they?" Vida asked with a twinge of anger. Wondering who would do something like this.
" I should have known you wouldn't stay at Rootcore" Udonna came up to them with a small smile. " What happened here?" asked Maddie. The sorceress sighed, " This village was destroyed. Tomorrow it will be another. The darkness destroys everything within their path until they find what they want".
" What are they looking for?" Maddie asked.
" Me" Udonna answered. " and then they will go after you" Some of the group gasped. " Whoa hold on just a sec! I never agreed to be part of this!" Nick protested.
" It is them! It is them!" Said a voice enthusiastically. It was one of the villagers. The other villagers noticed and crowded around with hopefully smiles. They all bowed, " Hail to the Mystic Force!" " HAIL!".
" I always wondered what it would be like to be worshipped. It's not so bad" Xander smirked, his friends rolled their eyes.
" Hey guys! I'm glad * pant* caught *pant* up to you!" Said Kevanni who had come running up to them. She was currently regretting running in boots though. The others just looked at her a little concerned. " You alright?" Vida asked.
Kevanni was still catching her breath, leaning over a bit " Oh yeah, I'm fine. Not used to running that fast. I needed to hurry up so I wouldn't lose your trail!".
Before she could say anything else, those creepy armored creatures from before, showed up again. The villagers ran screaming in fear and once again, they were surrounded.
" Ok...that's bad" Xander said. " Take out your wands!" Udonna commanded getting in defensive position. " Uh.. we kind of left them back at the tree" he replied sheepishly.
" Alright. Stand back. You leave me no choice" she then did a series of movements with her silver wand, and called out:
" MAGICAL SOURCE! MYSTIC FORCE! "
With the magic circle falling over, her body transformed into a white mystical looking armor with an intricate helmet covering her entire face. Her wand turned into a long staff.
" Flurry of snow! White Mystic Ranger! " she then proceeded to attack the creatures.
" Now that's cool!" Chip said amazed, as was everyone else.
" Guys! We have company! " Kevanni shouted getting into to some sort of fighting position. " Way I see it, we have two choices. We can surrender and be * gulp* killed or..." "We fight?" Madison said.
" Well I'm not going down without a fight!" Nick growled, " Yeah we fight!" Vida agreed.
" Wait, there's option three. Plan Xander. I'll just reason with them" Xander said confidently going up to the creatures. " Hey dude I don't think thats going to work" Kevanni said.
" Hi. I'm Xander. We're not really from around these parts, so if it's ok with you-" one of the creatures came and kicked him onto his back. His friends came to help him up " Oof ok guess we fight".
The six all proceeded to try and fight the creatures, but with little success. Each of them kept getting thrown onto the sacks or kicked over into trees. It felt hopeless until Udonna hastily told them something in middle of her fight. " You all have the ability to use magic. All you need to do is truly believe in magic! Believe with everything you have!"
" Believe in magic huh?! Well I've always believed! I BELIEVE IN MAGIC!" Chip shouted excitedly as yellow lightning shout out and electrocuted the creatures. " Awesome! Guys, it really works! Just believe!"
Everyone shouted out thier belief and it sprouted many different results. Xander was able to shoot vine-like branches out at creatures whacking them off balance. Maddie was crouched on the ground when water geysers shot up shooting them into the air. Vida turned into a pink tornado knocking them back and slamming into debris. She made a unimpressed comment about the color. Kevanni shot her hands out to block an attack when a violet- colored diamond shield appeared that quickly grew sharp diamond shards that shot out at the creatures.
With the hidiacs incapacitated, Udonna finished them off with her magic. " Snow Staff! Ice Shard!" They all simultaneously exploded with a BOOM.
The five out of the six where starting to get their bearings until Udonna noticed one was missing " Oh no!".
Nick's scream could be heard as he was blown back by an enemy attack. As he hit the ground, more of a creatures we're closing in. " Ok! I guess I believe too" he said...but nothing happened. He thought he was a goner, when the snow sorceress came and destroyed the remaining creatures. As she de-morphed, she looked down at with Nick slight disappointment. He just groaned and got to his feet.
The others gathered around them as they were dusting themselves off with excited expressions on their faces. " Well done. You see? Destiny doesn't make mistakes. Now the question is, are you ready to take up this challenge? To accept your legacy?"
" Oh yeah! Bring it on!" Chip pumped his fist.
" Hell yeah I'm in! I kicked some serious evil back there" Vida said. " This is so unlike me, but I'm sticking with my sister. I'm in." Maddie agreed.
" Someone got to look after these guys" Xander said suavely.
" Aside from feeling totally alive from that power rush, you said that this could affect both of our worlds, right? If I've seen anything from other Power Rangers on the news, this threat not going to go away anytime soon. People in our world could get hurt or worse if we do nothing, so count me in!" Kevanni declared. The others silently nodded, agreeing with her.
" You totally sounded like a comic book superhero just now!" Chip grinned with his inner geek coming out, Kevanni just smirked.
Nick hesitated with his answer " And what do you choose, Nick?" Udonna asked turning to him, as did the others.
" No. Count me out." He said curtly, shaking his head.
" Are you sure this is what you choose?" The sorceress asked with a hint of sadness. " Look, the magic didn't work for me. I'm clearly not your guy".
" Why don't you try again? Maybe didn't catch on the first time?" Madison suggested, internally not wanting him to leave before getting to know him little.
" He is a non- believer. I can do nothing for him. Clare will see you out of the woods safely. Clare!" " Here I a-a-a-m!"
Clare, still a sheep, trotted over to the group " Oh my dear child. When you get your spells right?" She said affectionately. " Please see him safe passage out of the woods".
Clare understood and proceeded to lead Nick to the exit. He gave one last glance at others as he left.
After few minutes of the group helping the villagers rebuild a little, a dark purple magic circle appeared on the ground. Out of it, arose the menacing knight from before, coming face to face snow sorceress and the future power rangers for the first time. They could just feel his power was tremendously different than the others.
Kevanni I could "see" only one thing coming from the knight: Danger.
" Well Well, should have known our forces hadn't wiped out all of you Mystics. You might've defeated my Hidiacs, but I will not be so easy" he challenged in his deep voice.
" Wolf Attack!" From a strange eye embedded his shield, came a blast of dark magic energy that knocked the rangers off their feet and on the ground.
The knights thunderous feet came closer to his prey " This will be the end for you".
All right, first chapter now! I am pretty bad at these authors notes, so I'll try my best to inform everyone they're confused about something.
First off, I made the ages of the Rangers different just to give a little variety. Kevanni, Madison, and Chip are eighteen, Vida and Xander at nineteen, and Nick is twenty. My OC isn't going to be the complete center of attention. I mean she's a different character and I'm going to put a lot more attention on her, but I'm going to try to give everyone an equal amount of attention throughout the story. Hopefully. Her ability to read people will be explored, along with why she's a griffin. I wanted her to be a violet-purple color match the more feminine hue color scheme that the ladies already have, not deep purple like Koragg's.
Just letting everyone know right now, the ships are going to be Vida x Chip, Xander x Clare, Nick X Madison, others to be determined as we go along. Everyone will have their moments, but if you're a Nick x Madison shipper your in for a treat for what's to come.
I'm going to try and at least to do two chapters a week. It might be kind of a stretch because of my courses but I'll try my best. Please leave review!
