Hi everyone! We're back :) Enjoy the next 2 chapters. I wrote this one.
Paradox, a cunning and enigmatic figure, was pleased to see his plan unfolding smoothly. He had already rescued two formidable ghosts, Dan and Lady Spirit, who took a few moments to acclimate to one another.
"I'm curious," Paradox said, his voice tinged with intrigue. "What's the story behind both of you?" He had glimpsed snippets in the time stream, but the entire narrative eluded him.
"It's quite a touching tale, really," Dan, a ghost with a mischievous grin, replied. "I realized I was better off without human emotions clouding my judgment. And absorbing Plasmius' power, a potent force from the supernatural realm? That made me who I am today."
The female ghost, Lady Spirit, nodded, her pride evident. "I'm glad you unlocked your true potential." The two male ghosts exchanged curious glances. "As for me, a curse gone awry, a dark spell that backfired, brought me into existence. Lady Belladonna, a powerful descendant of the fae, and poor Ceci Spirit, a humble soul, were fused in a tragic accident, and here I am! Lady Spirit, at your service." She bowed, her story lingering like a whisper of magic.
"Good for you!" Dan applauded, his enthusiasm infectious.
"Lady Belladonna, you say? Would she be interested in joining our cause?" Paradox mused, his mind racing with possibilities.
Lady Spirit nodded. "Indeed, but I am merely the remnant of her."
"In your time, yes," Paradox replied enigmatically, his voice laced with the mystery of his time-travel abilities. "But the constraints of time do not bind me."
"Interesting," Dan muttered, a spark of wonder in his eyes. "If that's the case, I have other ideas about who might have a score to settle with the ghostly Ancients."
Paradox liked the sound of that. He led them back into the time stream, their excitement building as they set off to find Lady Belladonna from the distant past.
Fortuitously, being the former ancient of space, Paradox possessed an excellent sense of direction. They eventually arrived at the correct timeline, and Paradox clawed through it.
He emerged into a shadowy carnival, eerie music weaving through the air and enhancing the unsettling atmosphere. In front of him stood a tent draped in midnight blue, where a woman regarded him with curiosity. Her long golden hair cascaded over dark blue robes, and an amulet radiated the fae's power against her chest.
"Are you Lady Belladonna?" Paradox asked, his voice steady yet respectful.
"Who's asking?" the woman replied, her tone sharp.
"We have a proposition for you," he said, opening rifts in time to reveal Lady Spirit. If her smile was any indication, Lady Belladonna was instantly captivated.
Lady Spirit greeted her warmly when the fae joined them in the time stream. "I think we'll get along splendidly, like old friends."
"Is that so? Why do I sense my own power within you?" the blonde woman inquired, her brows furrowing in curiosity.
"Let's just say we had a bit of an upgrade," Lady Spirit replied with a wink.
"Marvelous," Lady Belladonna mused, her intrigue deepening.
"You remind me of someone," Dan said, studying Lady Belladonna closely. "I think he might be interested in our cause as well."
"Do tell," Paradox urged, leaning in with anticipation.
"Freakshow, the ringmaster of the Circus Gothica," Dan grinned, excitement bubbling within the group. As they set off for their next destination, Paradox couldn't help but smile at the unfolding adventure.
