BETRAYAL: NEW BEGINNINGS
Oliver woke up early to get everything sorted out in the office and with his team. He needed to make sure that Thea got all the information for Quentin to be officially the new mayor while he started a new life with Kara and William. They all deserve a fresh start. William lost his mother, and he couldn't lose his father either, and Kara got betrayed by her team and is carrying his dopplegänger baby. They needed to get away from Star City and start over away from everyone they cared about.
William was getting used to Kara since he was a big fan of Supergirl too and now she wasn't Supergirl anymore. She got rid of her Supergirl suit and changed it to a Nazi version super suit. Oliver was disappointed in her team and the fact her sister turned on her. Everyone they knew had to believe Kara Danvers was dead and Supergirl wasn't coming back and it was gonna change everything.
Oliver came back a few hours later and headed toward the guest bedroom that Kara was staying in to see her struggling to get out of bed. He walked over to help her as she held his hand tightly to grab a good grip, so she could get out of bed without too much of a struggle being pregnant. Once she got out of bed, Oliver helped her walk down the stairs slowly without getting hurt.
Kara held her stomach as she slowly walked downstairs with the help of Oliver. "I'm regretting to think the thought of me being pregnant was a good idea." She sighed.
"I know. You just have a few more months, then you can be able to walk down the steps without a struggle and lift heavy stuff again," Oliver said, and Kara nodded.
"I can't believe I'm this big already. Did you handle everything you needed to do?" Kara asked Oliver.
"Yes, we're good on leaving Star City without anyone knowing. We just have to pack and we can leave all the furniture here if my sister plans to live here again," Oliver said.
"I feel bad that I'm making you leave your home and the people you love," Kara said, as she pouted.
"You're not making me leave this place. It's about time I leave Star City to give William a better life. I'm helping you leave because your team betrayed you and they want to keep you locked up," Oliver said as Kara nodded
"I just feel bad that I'm lying to everyone that I'm dead. Kara-X risked her life to save mine. It should have been me, I killed Stein because of greediness," Kara said, looking down at the floor.
"Hey, it's not your fault about what happened to Stein," Oliver said, grabbing her hands. "We should've protected him better when we were on Earth-X."
"I just feel terrible that I ruined Barry's wedding and worked with the one man he hated so much," Kara said.
"I heard about everything that led you to join Thawne. I understand the betrayal of someone on your team. I had several people on my team that betrayed me, and the anger I felt about it," Oliver said, and Kara smiled a bit.
"You sure that leaving your home will be better for you and William?" Kara asked.
"Yes, William deserves a calm life instead of this crazy one where I'm in the office and at night,t, I'm a vigilante protecting his city. He deserves a better life in another city than this dark city," Oliver explained.
"Okay. We need to talk about the baby situation, Oliver," Kara said.
"What about it?" Oliver asked.
"My husband and I already made plans when he is born," Kara said, as she played with her necklace that held her and Oliver's wedding rings.
"You're having a boy? Did you find out already?" Oliver asked.
"We already knew about the gender and we made agreements on our son's name," Kara said, looking down.
"You can tell me the name. I can see you still miss him," Oliver said, pointing to her playing with her and Oliver's rings.
"We wanted him to be the Godfather, but he died in S.T.A.R. Labs prison," Kara said, as she nervously looked at Oliver.
"Tommy?" Oliver questioned.
"It was supposed to be Tommy Robert Queen. Since they're both gone, I have to decide another name for him," Kara said and looked down at her stomach.
"No, you should keep it. I mean, it's a name you picked out with your husband," Oliver stammered out.
"You both are the same people and if I give birth to him, he will look like you," Kara said as Oliver nodded.
"I can help you raise him. He doesn't deserve to 'not' have a father figure in his life," Oliver suggested.
"Really? You'd help me raise Tommy?" Kara asked.
"Of course, Kara. You're one of my good friends, and this wouldn't have happened if Alex or J'onn supported your decision," Oliver said as Kara squeezed his hand.
"Don't worry about my powers because I won't have them for a while," Kara said.
"Why not? I mean, how are you pregnant if your sister said Kryptonians couldn't get pregnant," Oliver wondered.
"Well, we were under the red sun lamps, and it takes my powers away, and there's a possibility that I can get pregnant," Kara explained.
"Then, your husband found out and agreed to bring Alex in to make a serum for you and his baby. So, that's why you decided to invade our speedster friend's wedding," Oliver said.
"If I took her from my Earth, I believed that I would've killed her after making the serums for my unborn baby. Ollie turned me into someone that I was meant to be," Kara said, as Oliver shook his head.
"You're not a monster. Your sister was wrong for blaming you for your adoptive father's disappearance. I'll help you give Tommy the best life that I'm giving William too," Oliver said.
"Okay. I trust you," Kara said, believing him.
"Thank you. William make sure to pack everything you want to take to our new home," Oliver called out.
Kara smiled at him and headed off to the bathroom due to her bladder. She thought being pregnant was a good plan for her and Oliver, but she felt alone in this pregnancy. She felt bad that she was lying to her friends and family that she was dead instead of seeking help, but she knew that they'd probably tell Alex and she'd be locked up in maximum security at the D.E.O.
Oliver gave her a second chance to rewrite her wrongs and run away with him to a safer city with a new identity and a chance to start over. She was glad for Oliver and wished she never involved him in her mess and had him abandon the city he loves and the family he has here.
William was packing up everything he had left in his bedroom. He was happy that he'd be away from the danger in Star City but was sad that he'd be away from his friends and all the people he could call family now. Oliver wanted to keep him safe, be done with the crime-fighting, and hang up the Hood for good. William was happy that his father was gonna stop being the Green Arrow and focus on being a father first.
Oliver was looking out the window and seeing the city for one last time. He knew that once he left, his whole team would try to find him, but this time, he wouldn't be coming back to Star City. Once Kara, William, and him leave for good, they won't be returning. He knows that Kara felt guilty about having Oliver and William run away with her and leaving his family and friends, but that wasn't the case because his staying here kept William in danger from his enemies.
Kara makes her way downstairs and is careful walking down the steps. She saw that Oliver was looking out the window and she felt bad that she was making him leave everything behind with his friends and family, including his team.
"You know you don't have to go with me, I can just run away and live a better life," Kara said from behind.
"No, someone should keep you safe, and William deserves a better life than this one," Oliver said as he turned around.
"I just feel guilty that I'm pulling you two away from your team and the family that you have here," Kara said, looking down.
"I understand. And it's okay. I've been wanting to leave this place for quite some time because it's not safe to have William here," Oliver explained.
"Okay," Kara said, looking around. "It's seem like the whole living seems packed and empty."
"I had some movers come over and take the things we're gonna take to our new place," Oliver said.
"It seems like you know where we are going," Kara said.
"I do. Don't worry no one will recognize us. Possibly me, but they won't recognize you or William," Oliver explained, relaxed Kara.
"I'm packed, Dad. Where is this place we are going?" William asked his father.
"It's a surprise. We just have to wait for the movers to finish loading the other stuff, and they'll grab the rest," Oliver said as Kara and William groaned.
"I hate surprises. It gets me all worked up and makes me wonder what the surprise is," Kara said, as Oliver chuckled.
"So, when are the movers gonna help pack up the rest of the stuff?" William asked.
"Well, I'm leaving everything with Thea. I'm leaving the furniture and the important stuff for Thea to use once we're gone," Oliver said.
"You don't think Thea should tag along with us? I mean, she is your sister, and she should be with us," Kara asked, wondering if his sister should be with them.
"I would want her to join, but the more I involve her then the more people would find out that you're alive," Oliver explained.
"Okay. Are you going to at least explain to your sister why you're leaving Star City for good?" Kara asked Oliver.
"I will explain to her about leaving Star City and if I'll ever be returning here," Oliver said.
"I wondered how Barry's going to feel about you leaving after I died. Well, my doppelganger dying instead of me," Kara explained.
"I'll just explain your death was too much for me, and I decided to leave Star City and start over," Oliver said.
"Good answer," Kara said. "I also want to keep my son's last name, Queen."
"I have no problem with that and I can help you raise him. I know you said that you'll do fine on your own, but a little bit of help won't hurt," Oliver said.
"I wouldn't mind your help, and technically he is your son too if they take a DNA test," Kara said, thinking on the top of her head.
"Fair. I just really want you and this baby safe than being here in Star City," Oliver said.
"I trust you. It's just that I'm more worried that people on my team will find out that I'm alive and come searching for me," Kara said, a bit worried.
"They won't find out about you being alive, and I'll make sure of it. You need a fresh start and moving away from Star City is going to do that," Oliver said.
"Okay. I feel so bad about lying to Barry about me being alive. He's just as heartbroken as you are about my sudden "death"," Kara explained.
"I know it feels bad about lying, but if more people know about you being alive then more than likely your sister finds out about it," Oliver said.
"You're right. I just feel guilty about lying to all of our friends. I noticed my sister being involved with Sara at the wedding," Kara said, as she looked down.
"Sara and Alex? Wow, how did I not notice Sara hooking up with your sister," Oliver said.
"It probably has to do with being heartbroken about Felicity and looking so down at the reception," Kara said, and Oliver frowned at her.
"How did you know about that?" Oliver asked.
"We were watching you all the whole time. I noticed my sister downing all the scotch and Sara walking up to her. Barry noticed me missing, and Winn had to sing for me. And I noticed you being broody after Felicity's answer, or more of her shouting it out loud," Kara explained.
"Yeah, that wasn't my proudest moment about proposing to her after everything we've been through. I just broke up with her because she always brought up the last time I proposed to her and then she ended up getting shot at by an enemy of ours," Oliver explained to Kara.
"Sorry to hear about that. I had an ex-boyfriend, but his mother brought an invasion to my Earth because she felt that I was keeping her son from coming home, and I had to use lead poisoning in the air to weaken them. I had to send my boyfriend away, and 7 months later, he comes back, not only alive and healthy, but he's also married to someone else," Kara explained, as Oliver frowned at her.
"I'm sorry to hear about that. Maybe this trip will take our mind off of our previous relationships," Oliver said.
"I'm hoping. It's not that bad because my Oliver gave me something that I've been wishing for a while now," Kara said, as she started rubbing her stomach.
"You've been wanting to be a mom?" Oliver asked.
"I wanted to start a family but couldn't become. I'm not a human-like my sister is. Ollie gave me this gift, and I'm happy to receive this amazing miracle," Kara said, and Oliver smiled.
"I'm happy for you. The movers are here and they'll be grabbing everything for us. I made sure my team was busy and my sister was busy in the office," Oliver said, and Kara nodded her head.
"You are doing this? Leaving Star City and everyone you love. I just feel bad that I'm taking you away from your team and family," Kara said, once again.
"You're not. And it's about time that I leave Star City. After all, William doesn't deserve to live in a bad town where criminals are running around," Oliver said.
"Yeah. This place is quiet now that most of everything is gone now. I guess Thea will be upset knowing her brother is gone and blame me for taking you away," Kara said, looking down.
"She won't because she'll never learn that you're alive. I'll explain that after everything we've been through I deserve to move on with my life and give William a better than my parents did with us. And she'll believe it has to do with F.B.I. coming after me because of me being the Green Arrow," Oliver explained.
"You're right. I just feel scared that Alex will find out and try to ship me back to Earth-38 and lock me up," Kara said, and Oliver hugged her.
"She won't lock you up because we won't let her. Earth-1 and Earth-38 are different universes, and our laws are different which means she won't be able to touch you. I'll keep you safe and if it means locking me up too for hiding you away from our friends and your sister," Oliver said.
"You don't have to do this for me," Kara said. "This is your home, and I've done things that I'm not proud of, and I deserve to be locked up," Kara looked down.
"You were hurt, and I would've done the same thing if my team betrayed me; if my sister betrayed me, I would've done the same thing," Oliver said.
"You're ready. Leaving this apartment and Star City. Leaving your team and sister," Kara asked Oliver.
"Yes. It's time that I let go of Star City and make of life of mine and Williams. For a new chapter, that's what I promised his mother and I'll give him a better life than my parents did for me," Oliver answered.
"Okay. I don't have clothes of mine since everything I own is back on Earth-38. You don't seem to have much even for a billionaire," Kara said.
"Well, we have enough time to do that when we leave and live our own lives," Oliver said.
"Okay. Just seems sad leaving this place knowing you won't be returning to it," Kara said, looking out the window.
"Don't worry, I'll be visiting them just so they won't be suspicious of me leaving Star City," Oliver said.
"All right. Did you get everything?" Kara asked.
"Yes, you like my mom making sure that I'm all packed for a trip," Oliver joked.
"Well, this isn't a trip. We're going away for good and when you visit, you're gonna be more convincing about me dying and you looking sad about it," Kara said.
"I have to make it more believable than I am right now," Oliver answered.
"Yeah. I know how Barry gets when he loses everyone he cares about. I'm just hoping it doesn't include changing the timeline again," Kara said.
"You and I both are hoping he doesn't do that. Sara warned him about wrecking the timeline after the whole Dominator invasion," Oliver said.
"Great. Let's go," Kara said.
Oliver grabs the last bag and quickly writes a goodbye note for his sister and team to find. Before he came to his apartment, he made sure to grab all his Green Arrow gear to take just in case anything happened wherever they were going. He wants to protect his son and Kara's baby, too; Oliver just wants the best for Kara and to help her with the baby or with anything she needs.
It was up to him to make sure Kara was safe and Tommy too. He was gonna be the father he couldn't be with William and give the best childhood to Kara's son. He was looking around his apartment one last time and realizing he was doing the right thing for him and Kara. And he knew that Barry would do just fine without him around for a couple of months before he decided to come back or tell them that Kara was alive and he protected her.
He shut his apartment door, leaving the note taped against his door where his key was. He looked back one last time and then walked off as he smiled to himself. He finds Kara looking at the apartment building and grabs her hand tightly.
"We'll be back. It'll just be a while until everything settles down quietly with our teams. Let Barry adjust for a bit until it's the right time to tell him the truth, we'll just leave your old team out of it," Oliver explained to Kara.
"Winn is in Central City helping out Team Flash. I found his GPS at S.T.A.R. Labs and I am thinking about telling Winn about faking my death, but I have to protect myself and him if my team finds out about me being alive," Kara explained.
"I know. I'm guessing you can spy on all of us since the wedding or the reception dinner," Oliver asked.
"Yeah. Thawne made it for me to find you, or locate where you guys are. It was how I found out about Alex and J'onn being on Earth-1 and taking my invitation to Barry's wedding," Kara said and turned to look at him.
"Come on, I'm pretty sure William is wondering what's taking us this long," Oliver said, as Kara took his hand.
"Yeah. Keeping this a secret is the best way until it's more safe to come back. I want to raise Tommy in a quiet town where there aren't criminals trying to kill the Green Arrow," Kara said.
"Good. Let's go; I know just the place where it's quiet and peaceful for the three of us to live," Oliver said as he helped her into the car.
He got into the driver's side, and William smiled at him feeling relieved to be leaving Star City for a while. They were all buckled up, and Oliver started to drive off. Kara looked at all the buildings they passed, feeling the breeze hit against her hair. Oliver smiled at Kara who had a smile on her face as they were leaving Star City.
"Where are we even going, Dad?" William asked.
"I was here last time with Felicity and I want to take us somewhere different than Ivy Town," Oliver answered.
"Like where? I'm down for somewhere quiet and all, you're just being secretive about where we're moving to," Kara said, as she chuckled.
"Don't worry, it'll be peaceful for the three of us, or should I say the four of us soon," Oliver said, looking down at Kara's stomach.
Kara smiled. Oliver continued to drive as the sunset hit the horizon. And Kara feels the wind against her fingers as she can finally relax knowing they'll be somewhere safe. William was happy to be able to get out of Star City. He'll miss all his friends and everyone his father knew, but he knew it was time to leave Star City and go somewhere safer.
Oliver smiled as he looked at William in his review mirror, happy that his son was gonna enjoy their trip, and looked at Kara, feeling proud that he was giving her life that she could never had back on Earth-38. They were moving on and starting a new life of theirs without anyone ruining it. It was the start of a New Beginning.
