What is it that makes a hero? Is it perhaps a social obligation to do good? Maybe it comes from a strict moral code, an inability to do no wrong. Some may say it is so nobody has to suffer as they have before. Others might just do it for fun.

Some want to raise others from their lowest lows. Others want to keep them from reaching those lows in the first place.

Some become a beacon of hope, a goal for others to strive for. Some become an actor in the shadows, not seeking any recognition for their heroics.

But above all else, ignoring any other factors, there is one thing all true heroes have in common; a cause. Though that cause may differ from person to person, a true hero has something they fight for, a reason to do what they do.

So what happens when someone without a true cause is unwittingly pushed into the role of a hero, and has no choice but to fight… no choice but to find their cause… no choice, but to become a true hero, no matter what it takes?

Hey all, it's been a while since I've written anything, sorry about that. Been coming to some realizations about myself, and haven't had the motivation to really do any writing.

Anyways, I've been pretty into the CYOA scene for a while, so I've decided to write a fic incorporating one of them!

This fic will be using v3 of Valmar's MHA cyoa, so let's go through the choices I've made for this!

I guess I'll start with the body choices I've made… to start, I chose Female for my gender (this has a bit to do with those realizations I talked about earlier), Short for my height, a fit build, and an aristocratic feminine form for my archetype.

I chose reincarnation as my method of insertion, and specifically chose to reincarnate when my new body was still young, so I could have all the time to train that I could get. Specifically, I chose to reincarnate at the same time that All Might's first fight with All For One happened.

My new form comes from a rich, heroic family, and specifically is the child of All Might and a random civilian.

Specifically, my new mother has a Slime quirk, and is actually the sibling of that one slime villain from the start of the series.

Speaking of quirks, my quirk is a mutant quirk that is an evolution of my mother's, essentially making me into a super strong slime, with physical might that starts out around half the strength of injured All Might, though it can be trained to be equivalent to him in his prime. I also took the ability to have an easier quirk awakening, though the effect of said awakening has yet to be decided.

There are quite a few boons I took, including an Iron Will, increased control of my Quirk, a Sharp Wit, a bunch that would help with fighting in general, some that would help with my image as a hero, and lastly Quirk Protection, which prevents my Quirk from being stolen, canceled, or suppressed in any way, in addition to preventing any attempts at cloning or duplicating my quirk from working.

As for world changes, UA is a university now and Mineta is less Pervy.

In addition to all this, there are also 4 side quests that if I complete them will grant me extra quirks to use.

If I become one of the top ten heroes, I get Full Counter, allowing me to parry any attack if I time it right.

If I can beat Mirko in a fair 1v1 before she gets disabled, I get Martial Adaptation, allowing me to perfectly adapt to muscle memory and perform at the same skill level as whoever I observe. In addition, it also allows me to develop a minor resistance to any damage I receive.

If I play a major part in defeating All For One, I get Kinetic Absorption, allowing me to absorb kinetic force and stockpile it to increase my own strength.

If I become a symbol for a country, I get Siphon, allowing me to steal the quirk factor of anyone I touch, which can be used to strengthen my own quirks.
