Wow, I can't believe it's over. That has to be my favorite isekai. Mushoku Tensei was such a good story, but I wonder what I'd do if I were Rudeus. Well, I guess it doesn't matter; reincarnation isn't actually real, so it doesn't even matter to have that thought. Well, I have to get home; it's getting dark, and my mom will be worried if I don't make it home before the sun sets. As I'm walking home, I see a semi-truck rolling down the street and a group of teens talking so loudly they don't see the truck coming. Wait, is this my chance to get reincarnated? It's like I'm in a horrible self-inserted fanfiction; I have to take this chance. "Hey, get out of the street! A truck's coming!" I yell. Hearing me, the kids move out of the way. Aw, damn, that was my only chance. I guess I was supposed to push them out of the way. Now I'm just in the middle of the street looking stupid. As I'm talking to myself, another truck comes and flattens me. What the hell? My head is ringing, and I feel wet and naked. Did I get kidnapped? Well, this is a horrible way to go out. Wait, my eyes are adjusting, and who's this? My kidnapper seems to be making weird faces. Strange… Wait, this seems familiar. I look around and see Lilia the maid. WAIT, does this mean I got put into Mushoku Tensei? Thank the Lord for whatever divine powers were listening to me. Wait, wasn't Lilia like scared of the original Rudeus because he didn't cry? I liked Lilia in the story, so I guess I'll cry to make her not think I'm some type of demon lord.
1 Year Later
It's been a full year, and life has been pretty boring. I got so sidetracked with all the magic stuff I forgot I have to be a baby. Every day I think about how I used to walk and run and not shit myself. I think Lilia has started to take a liking to me. I've been staying around her most of the time, and I like when she holds me against her soft bosom. Anyway, Paul is Paul, but he tries to be a good father. I've always kind of respected Paul in the original. Zenith is a sweet and caring mother; truth be told, she's like my other mother from before I came here. Honestly, I don't really feel weird being here. I wasn't too old when I left; I was only around the age of 16, so I'll quickly pass my original age.
2 more years go by
Now that I'm three, I can actually walk, and I've been devoting my time to learning how to read so I can start learning magic. I honestly think I have a good grasp of the language here. I've been intensely listening to the words that Paul says when he reads me a story. I think the only reason I've progressed so far is because I have the mind of a baby. I've heard that babies learn stuff quicker, like language, but I digress. I've started the same training Rudeus did in Canon. I've been using waterfalls every day to make my mana pool larger, but I can kind of feel that it's not growing by much; it's growing pretty slowly. I thought it would grow an exponential amount quickly because of my Laplace factor, but it seems like I don't have it here. Which is honestly a good thing; it held Rudeus back more than it helped. But I'm nowhere near as smart as Rudeus, so having Touki is probably the better answer.
Using chantless magic was a weird experience. I imagined a drop of rain, a water molecule, running tap water, and at first it was pretty tiny. I kept trying and refining my thoughts till I got a normal-sized water ball. Living in this world is very peaceful. This village is very peaceful. I get excited thinking about all the battles I can do and all the exploration I can commit with all this future knowledge. My biggest concern is the man god. What if he reads my thoughts? I guess I'll know when I get there. I've been watching Paul swing his sword a lot and have been trying to remember his movements. My memory was pretty good in my last life. I had photographic memory, and it seems to have transported. It wasn't really useful in my last life as I was a slacker, but now I can use it to the fullest.
"So you like the sword," Lilia whispers in my ear.
"Oh, you scared me. You shouldn't sneak up behind me like that. It's scary, especially in my ear."
"Haha, Master Rudeus, you're too easy to scare," Lilia says with a content smile.
"Well, to answer your question, yes, I really like the sword, and I hope one day I grow up to be like him. (Even though I say that I don't want to be anything like Paul.)"
"Well, I don't know about the last part, but if you have such big dreams with the sword, why not start now?" She exclaims.
"Well, I'll think about it. I need to go study in my room."
"Oh, studying magic again, Master Rudeus?"
I freeze while walking away. I turn around slowly. She just winks at me and walks away. I can't believe she knew this entire time and hasn't said a word to my parents. What a cool maid. Well, I think it's about time my sweet, lovely, blue-haired mage gets here. I think I'm still going to marry her here, but to be honest, Eris has always been my favorite out of the three wives. I'm going to do the same thing Canon Rudeus did; I'm going to shoot a water ball through the room. I get upstairs, open the book, and look for the spell "Water Cannon." Yeah, I'm not going to read these incantations.
"I'm just going to feel them," I start imagining a blast of water like turning on a hose and water spraying out at a fast speed. I feel the mana go through my body and well up in my hand. My eyes are closed, focusing on that sensation of my mana welling up in my hand. I can feel it. I can feel the water cannon. I'm imagining it going fast with a lot of power. As I open my eyes and see the water ball, I can feel it charging up in my hand. I let the spell go, and it bursts through the wall like nothing, continuing hundreds of yards away till it disperses over a field of grain. Wow, that looked cooler than it did in the anime. I still can't believe I can shoot water through my hand; it feels so euphoric. As my thoughts are running rampant, Paul and Zenith enter the room.
"RUDY!" Paul and Zenith shout,
And at the same time, Zenith runs over and grabs me. I feel her bountiful chest rubbing all over my head; it feels like I'm in heaven.
"Huh, what's this book?"
Paul picks up the book, looking and reading over it, noticing and looking at the contents of the book.
"Wait, Rudy, you didn't happen to read these words from the book?"
"Uh, I'm sorry, Mommy."
Zenith looks over at me with a cheeky grin.
"I think we have a magician here."
Zenith overjoyed starts hugging me again, giving me a second taste of heaven.
"No, you promised that if it was a boy, it would be a swordsman."
"Don't talk to me about promises; you break them all the time."
Umm, maybe I could train in both. I want to be a magical swordsman's.
"A magical swordsman." Paul and Zenith say in unison.
"I think Master Rudeus could do sword fighting in the morning and magic practice in the evening."
"You're correct. I've already been observing my father when he's training, and I would love to learn the sword. Paul has a very proud look on his face; he looks like he could start crying right now. Roxy the loli I can't wait to meet my beautiful wife. Roxy I never really was a lolicon, but I can see the beauty of Roxy. Wait, does that make me a lolicon? I have to hold back some. I don't want to give her immediate confidence issues, but it would probably be hard as I'm so good. She should be coming today. I still find it so surprising she came basically the next day. I think I'll wait outside for her. A couple of hours later, Ugh, when is she coming? I've been out here in this heat for so long that I feel like I'll be burned by the time she arrives. I guess I could maybe start doing some physical stuff to train my body for the sword. I'll try a push-up; it should be easy. I was pretty physically fit in my last world. As I try to do a pushup, I fall, my arms giving out like noodles. I can't even do a push-up; I really am weak. As I'm talking with my face in the dirt, a blue-haired girl shows up in front of the door and knocks on the door.
"It's me, the tutor. I'm here to teach your kid. Do you know where my young student is?"
Roxy looks them with sleepy eyes.
"Aren't you a little young and small?" Paul looked Roxy up and down.
"Maybe small, but I assure you my height, age, and size aren't important. I'm a saint-tier magician," Roxy said confidently, looking up at Paul.
"If you're looking for our Rudy, he's right there," Zenith pointed to the kid mumbling to himself with his face in the dirt.
"A kid shows signs of being an early bloomer, and their idiot parents think that means they are special," Roxy said, looking down with a downcast face.
"You'll be surprised by our Rudy."
"Sigh, might as well test my young student," Paul said. "Rudy, stop eating dirt and go with your teacher," he shouted at Rudeus.
"Huh, what the teacher? Roxy just heard me talking to myself with dirt in my mouth; she definitely doesn't think I'm cool. I was supposed to have a cool entrance and woo her, but now she probably won't let me within 3 feet of her. Forget all that stuff about holding back; I have to impress my enchantress."
"So, my young disciple, I need to teach you the basics of magic. Magic can be split into different tiers: elementary, intermediate, and advanced, where most people are adventurous. Then we get to the more destructive tiers of magic, like the saint tier. I'm actually a saint-tier magician myself." Roxy looked around with pride written all over her face.
"Wow, I miss you're really strong and cute. I want to be like you one day. (I'm really selling it; I need to act as childish and cute as possible.)" Roxy turned her head and held a hat to her face, covering her blush—
"Well, back to what I was saying: saint-tier magic usually just affects the weather, like making it rain or thunder. After Saint, there is King Tier. There aren't many King Tier magicians in the world; you could probably count them on one hand. After king is emperor tier, which could probably destroy a town or so. And lastly, god or divine tier, this level of magic is capable of destroying a whole continent. The only person I could think of with this level of magic is the demon king Laplace."
"Well, let's do a simple spell to use a waterball spell. Remember these words."
[Let the great protection of water be on the place thou seekest. I call a refreshing burbling stream here and now. Water Ball.]
As Roxy finished the incantations, a water ball formed at the end of her staff. She launched the water ball at the tree in front of her. The tree instantly broke as the water ball made contact.
"Umm, miss, my mom works really hard on that tree and takes good care of it. I think she's going to be mad if she sees it broken," Rudeus said.
Roxy looked panicked after realizing that she had broken the tree of her employer.
"I'll fix it."
Nervously, Roxy rushed to the tree, pulled it close, and started reciting an incantation:
[Let this divine power be as satisfying nourishment, giving one who has lost their strength the strength to rise again. Healing.]
The tree started mending itself back together, growing back to its former state, and even flowers were popping out of the tree now.
"Well, now it's time for you to do the same spell and recite the incantations."
"Do you have to do the incantations?" Rudeus asked.
"Yes, otherwise it wouldn't be possible," Roxy replied, glancing dumbfounded at Rudeus.
"Well, I don't usually say the incantations; I just let the spell out," Rudeus said. Surprised, Roxy looked at Rudeus to see if he was lying.
"That's impossible. I can't think of anyone who can cast without incantations, especially a child."
"Well, look and learn, miss." Rudeus concentrated, remembering the sensation he felt when he first cast the water ball. He could feel his mana creeping up his body, focusing in his hand. He closed his eyes to further focus, thinking about the size and speed. A water ball formed in his hand. Opening his eyes in glee, he forgot to hold and aim the spell, and hit his mom's tree, which tumbled over once more.
"Amazing, I've never seen anything like voiceless casting," Roxy said, looking at Rudeus with stars in her eyes, wondering how he had pulled off such a feat.
"Roxy, don't use my trees as test subjects," Zenith shouted, running out of the house to check on her tree.
"I've already messed up. I guess I'll be fired by tomorrow," Roxy said, moving her finger in the dirt in disappointment.
"I'm sorry, Miss Roxy. It's all my fault, but I really liked your water ball. There was something about it that just seemed so cool."
"Sigh, it's nowhere as good as yours; you didn't have to recite a single incantation."
"Well, you can probably learn it too, Miss Roxy. It's not that hard. I could teach you."
"Oh, you really can," Roxy said, looking up with optimism written on her face. "Yes, it can be our little pact. You teach me all you know, and I'll teach you to voicelessly cast."
"Hurry up, it's time to eat," Paul shouted with a cup in his hands.
"I'm grateful, but I have nothing to offer," Roxy replied.
"Don't be silly. Come in, Roxy. You're welcome to eat with us," Zenith said, pulling Roxy inside to join them at the table.
I've been here for about 3 years now, and I really like it here. I can say that I really feel like I'm a part of this family. I really like Zenith, Paul, and Lilia; she's like a second mother to me. I sometimes do miss my other mom. But Zenith reminds me of my mom from my past life. I'm going to try to forget that life and truly become Rudeus.
A/N: It gets better the writing here isnt the best i think my writing suffers from too much exposition
