Hi everyone, we are doing something fun this time. This year two animes dominated the internet and are both claimed to be in the top 20 best anime of all time: Frieren and Delicious in Dungeon. Now to not overload, I am posting pitches of Frieren stories to see if people would be interested in reading them, but Delicious in dungeon would be something easy to write, since its simple and the manga is over. This take the idea of cooking monster and makes it fun to see.
The idea here is that the Natsu Team will be on a mission and they wanted to stick around, after abandoning the 100 year quest they want to finish a big mission again. Side note, I have little interest in reading 100 year Quest because it's just the same old Fairy Tail stuff over and over again.
Another thing, since we don't have different races in the Fairy Tail world the group from Delicious in Dungeon will be mostly humans, with some different traits here and there. I hope you are ready to have fun, see yah.
At a little forest.
The group called themselves Team Natsu was going off from their Guild Fairy Tail, to go and do another big quest. The group of Natsu Dragnell, Lucy Heartfilia, Gray Fullbuster, Erza Scarlett, Wendy Marvell, Happy and Charla all took a new mission after a while since the 100 year quest fiasco. It wasn't their fault, there was dragon, creautres that were brainwashing their friends, a new black mage, people in danger so they have to stop it. Now they promised everyone to go and finish this quest.
"Ok, we should arrive at this dungeon in about 2 hours. If we stay lucky it wont rain.'' Said Lucy.
"This time we will finish! Then I can go back and kick Ignia ass again!'' Scream Natsu.
"Let that go, we haven't heard of him in weeks.'' Said Gray annoyed.
"No! That jerk will know something about fire dragon slaying magic! If its not the last thing I do!'' Scream Natsu.
"Aye Natsu! Show him off!'' Said Happy cheering up his best friend.
The group just laughed and kept walking, Wendy however a bit worried about Erza luggage carriage.
"Erza, do you think you need all this?'' Asked Wendy.
"Of course Wendy! I am a woman who needs to be ready for every occasion possible. Its this way that you know to be ahead of everything.'' Said Erza.
"So you need 3 dozens pair of hairbrush?'' Asked Charla seeing one of the many useless items that Erza was brining.
"You don't know what a lady must do to get her hair to be in good condition. This takes hours of hard work!'' Said Erza all dramatic.
"Yeah.'' Though everyone not buying that.
The group kept walking and walking, having some chit chat along the way. They wanted to be successful on this mission, it would give them a really big reward and put them all in the paths to be S Class like Erza.
A little later.
After ending the forest, the group was looking around for the entrance of where their mission would be taking place, inside of a dungeon. So after looking around they saw a path that would lead to a subterranean lair.
"Over there, we better double check for sure.'' Said Lucy
The mages went to a person who was just sitting near a rock around the area, he looked like he was just relaxing.
"Excuse me is this the Dungeon of Ryoko?'' Asked Lucy.
"Oh yes, I guess you all are going to try finish it to get the big reward?'' Asked the man.
"Of course, we will be the ones to get this quest done. We are from Fairy Tail.'' Said Natsu.
"I don't know if you all can handle. There might be things down there that not even mages like you all could be able to handle.'' Said the man.
"We face all sorts of monsters before, we even beaten Gods, we can handle some creatures.'' Said Erza.
"I am not saying that you all could be attack by the monsters, I am just saying that you all could become weak down there.'' Said the man.
"Yeah, but we have been in these sorts of situations before. It's hard but we can manage.'' Said Gray.
"If you all say so.'' Said the man.
"Saying no to danger is part of being a Fairy Tail mage.'' Said Natsu.
"Really, I thought most of your things were to crash and destroy all kinds of places.'' Said the man.
"Unfortunately.'' Said Lucy.
"Well, I wish you all good luck but be careful down there. One of the reasons why nobody ever managed to reach the last level is because of the monsters.'' Said the man.
"Are they dangerous?'' Asked Natsu with a smirk.
"Some of these monsters are not seeing in any kingdom. Its pretty much a exclusive ecosystem down there.'' Said the man.
"Exclusive ecosystem !'' Said Lucy, Happy and Wendy shocked.
"Yes, there has been a lot of people that got eaten.'' Said him all calm.
Lucy felt like she was going to pass out, same thing with Wendy and Happy, the others felt like this was a challenge worth taking it.
"Oh! I can't wait to kick some monster ass!' Said Natsu.
"Of course you would say this.'' Said Lucy all sad.
"Why are you scared? You have your star dress?'' Asked Natsu.
"I kind have a magnet for bad luck, even with my new powers I tend to get the short end of the stick.'' Said Lucy.
"Don't worry Lucy, we will be with you all time.'' Said Erza putting a hand on her shoulder.
"Yes, this way you won't cry like you always did.'' Said Happy with a laugh.
"What did you say!?'' Asked Lucy pissed.
"You're did kind of cry and whiny a lot when you arrived.'' Said Natsu.
"Yes. I agree.'' Said Gray with a smile.
"What kind of size are you on Gray!?'' Asked Lucy now feeling like a joke.
"You are being over dramatic Lucy.'' Said Erza all calm.
The man just smile at that. Those kids were a very interesting bunch.
"Well, before you all go I should tell you all one of the main reasons why no guild has been able to achieve the end of this quest.'' Said the man.
"Oh really. Thank you sir.'' Said Wendy.
"What is it? Is the lack of sunlight? Communication? Unable to talk with other from the surface?'' Asked Gray but all his guesses were wrong.
"Food.'' Said him.
"Really?'' Asked Lucy confused.
"Yes, people tend to go to these quest bringing standard supplies to last for a month. When in reality they are all gone in just 2 weeks, the bigger the party the fastest all your supplies tend to go.'' Said the man but Fairy Tail wasn't worried about that.
"We have plenty of food for all of us for 2 months. We did a good amount of planning ahead, right guys.'' Said Erza with everyone except Natsu nodding.
"Uh…'' Said Natsu all worried.
"Ok, if you all are so confident in going into your mission then I wish all good luck.'' Said the man.
"Thanks!'' Said Fairy Tail
The mages soon went off to go to the entrance of the Dungeon, they had a long task ahead of them.
A few minutes
The group went down to 5 floors of stairs until arrived at a place that should be the point of encounter. Once there the mages could see groups from all over the kingdom, there wasn't one of the big guilds from Fiore there which was ok, but there was over 200 other guilds from other towns, some even making camp and discussing the next move. All these people and nobody has ever been able to finish this quest.
"Wow! I didn't expect so many people here.'' Said Wendy.
"And these are just the ones who are staying here or making camp. I don't know how many us are down below.'' Said Charla.
"Well we haven't heard nothing about someone reaching the last floor, so there is a good chance for us to get the victory.'' Said Gray.
While looking around they were seeing the place, a standard little market full of things that mages would get before going to a long journey. They also saw that the place as very old with the roots going all over the place.
While looking around Lucy was tapped in her shoulder by someone, she turned to see a tall blonde young man around her age, wearing an armor similar to Erza and with a sword on his waist.
"Excuse me.'' Said the young man.
"Uh?'' Asked Lucy confused.
"Hello, sorry to interrupt but I couldn't help to notice you all, like I feel I seen your faces before.'' Said the young man.
"Did we destroy your house, business or other form of property?'' Asked Happy all calm as if this was a recording thing to say.
"No, I don't think so.'' Said the young man.
"Thank God.'' Though Lucy relieved, the last thing they need it on the guild was more debt.
"Oh we are from Fairy Tail. Check out.'' Said Natsu showing off his makr.
"Fairy Tail! The number one guild full of celebrities?'' Asked the young man with a smile.
"Yes! We are the number one! The strongest and the wildest!' Said Natsu.
"Aye sir!'' Said Happy jumping near Natsu.
"And you? What kind of guild are you from?'' Asked Gray.
"Oh no, I am just a simple swordman with no guild. I know, some say its pretty much suicidal, but me and my friends are here to go in the dungeon.'' Said the young man.
"Well, we all love some crazy person. I am Natsu Dragnell.''
"Lucy Hearthfilia.''
''I am Happy.''
"Gray Fullbuster.''
"Erza Scarlet.''
"Nice to meet you, I am Wendy Marvell.''
"Charla.''
"It's a pleasure to meet you all, my name is Laios Touden, and this…wait where?'' Asked Laios confused as someone called for him.
"Laios! What are you doing?'' Asked a short man with brown hair, alongside him was a tall blonde girl with long hair wearing some kind robe.
"Guys! I meet mages from Fairy Tail! Isn't this awesome?'' Asked Laios excited.
"Your friend is a very open man.'' Said Erza with a smile.
"Oh hi, my name Marcille Donato.''
"And I am Chilchuck Times. Nice to meet you all.''
"So what are you all doing here? Are you all with a guild?'' Asked Lucy.
"No, we don't have a guild. We can never find one with the right people to stay.'' Said Marcille.
"We are just making plans to go down.'' Said Chilchuck.
"You guys are going down? Just you three?'' Asked Gray a bit confused.
"Yes, but we are not going for the legendary quest. We have no chance in a team of three. We had a bigger party, but we spilt and they went to join some guilds.'' Said Chilchukc.
"So why are you so determined to go down in the dungeon?'' Asked Wendy.
"My sister was captured and from what I heard she is in the deepest level of the dungeon.'' Said Laios.
The mages upon hearing that were in a bit of shock. Imagine having someone you love deeply in a place infested with monsters.
"What! Your sister was captured? And she is in the lower areas on the dungeon?!'' Asked Lucy horrified.
"Yes, her name is Falin and she was a with a group of our friends when they were attack. They managed to escape but she was dragged away. They told me it's a suicidal thought going down to rescue her, but I will do anyway.'' Said Laios all determined.
The Fairy Tail mages had a feeling that they were going to like this guy.
"You're a good brother Laios.'' Said Lucy.
"Yes, any little sister would be proud to have you by her side.'' Said Erza.
"I am so sorry about your sister.'' Said Wendy.
"It's ok, I am not worried that Falin can not defend for herself.'' Said Laios.
"She is a skilled mage. She and I went to a magic academy together and I saw her skills firsthand.'' Said Marcille.
"I see, but don't worry we can rescue her and finish the quest! It would be the biggest victory this place would ever seen!'' Said Natsu.
"So what are you all talking about before leaving? Because we are going with you all.'' Said Gray shocking the group.
"Wait for real? Like this you all are going to join us?'' Asked Chilchuck.
"We can't just seat and just let someone who others care be in danger, it's not our way.'' Said Gray.
"But what if we were a group of people trying to scam you all? I mean this is just too open trustworthy.'' Said Marcille.
"Oh we would just beat the craap out of you three.'' Said Natsu all simple
"Well at least you're honest.'' Said Marcille.
"We were discussing the food. We don't have much money for supplies, and I don't want to wait this long. It takes days to achieve the lowest level and I want to leave now.'' Said Laios.
"Yes, the guy outside told us the same thing.'' Said Gray.
"All this talk of food is getting me hungry.'' Said Chilchuck.
"Me too.'' Said Wendy.
"Guilty!'' Said Happy
"I could eat something at the moment.'' Said Charla blushing.
"Well, we can cook something right now.'' Said Lucy.
"Oh really, wow thanks.'' Said Marcielle.
"Don't worry we have food for all of us and we have enough food for 2 months.'' Said Lucy.
"Gray, can you pick up some steaks? I feel we need a good meal before leaving with our new friends.'' Said Erza.
"We just meet.'' Said Chilchuck.
"Sure, I set them on your carriage. One moment.'' Said Gray.
"I am actually getting hungry too, oh well I am sure the food is in good condition. You put them in a easy place, right Natsu?'' Asked Lucy.
"Uh…'' Said Natsu sweating and looking to the side.
The blonde celestial mage saw that and had a suspicion, she knew Natsu did something bad but didn't know the size of the screw up.
"Natsu what did you do?'' Asked Lucy.
"Well…'' Said Natsu worried and then Gray give the horrible news.
"Our food! Is all gone.'' Scream him.
"What!'' Scream the entire party plus new members.
They saw the place on Erza carriage where the food would be stored and there wasn't a single crumb.
"Where is all the food?'' Asked Lucy in horror.
"Who ate all the cakes! I demand to know!'' Said Erza ready to go full judgment on anyone, but Charla knew the answer.
"there is some frosting in your hair.'' Said the exceed knowing that Erza ate all the cakes again.
"Erza, you ate all the desert again?'' Asked Gray worried.
"Impossible! How could I have done this?! I have no recollection of such acts.'' Said her not remembering gouging the cakes a few nights before the expedition.
Seeing this made both Chilchuck and Marcille sweat drop.
"These are the mages from the best guild of the kingdom?' Asked Chilchuck.
"Beggars can't be choosers.'' Said Marcille.
"This is not frosting! Is a cream.'' Said Erza still not believing herself to be the culprit.
"Either she is terrible at lying or she is really dumb.'' Thought Chilchuck.
"Ok, what about the rest of the food? Where are all the meats, vegetables and other essentials?'' Asked Gray.
Erza turned around to Natsu who was looking like he didn't want to look anyone in the face. That was enough for the Titania punch him in the head with full strength.
BUM
"You better start explaining Natsu, now!'' Said Erza.
The other mages looked at Natsu with a serious look, only Wendy and Laios had a sympathy look towards him.
"What did you do Natsu?'' Asked Lucy
"I was hungry, and gramps wasn't letting me eat in the guild due to the bad stunt I did.'' Said Natsu.
"What did he do?'' Asked Marcille.
"Burned down a church and made a mess worth almost 1 million jewels.'' Said Lucy remembering Master Makarov horror face when he saw those numbers.
"Of course.'' Said Chilchuck annoyed.
"So, I got some food for when the truck. A few times a week, many times at the same day, and then I saw that I ate everything after all those times.'' Said Natsu.
The group felt that Natsu needed it to be punished, but right now wasn't the right time. They were cranky and hungry so there would be a lot of emotions in that beat down.
"Let's not waste our breath on this idiot. Maybe when we return we can go by train.'' Said Gray looking at Natsu with hate.
"The long ride verity.'' Said Erza.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!'' Scream Natsu in horror.
"So what do we now? We don't have enough money to buy food for all of us.'' Said Laios.
"We can take various jobs.'' Said Gray.
"It will take a lot of time.'' Said Chilchuck.
"We have no choice.'' Said Gray.
"How many quest are around this dungeon?'' Asked Erza.
"People tend to get them every hour. Theres barely anything worthy at the moment, a good quest that can pay really good will be around a week to be posted.'' Said Marcille pointing at the job wall, pretty much almost empty.
"For all of us it can take a whole month.'' Said Chilchuck.
"And Falin will be dead by this time.'' Said Laios worried.
"It's a shame that there aren't anything to eat down there. Otherwise, we would be fine.'' Said Happy.
Laios then felt it was time to tell his idea, it would be risky, and it would even make his new friends go away, but he had to try.
"It's not impossible.'' Said him.
"Uh?'' Asked the group.
"There is a way for us do venture down and not have to worry about the food.'' Said him.
"What are you talking about?'' Asked Gray.
"Well…'' Said Laios a bit worried.
"Well what?'' Asked Erza
"I say…we eat the monsters that are down there.''
There was an awkward moment and then their answered appeared…pure shock.
"What!" Asked the group in shock
Laios just laughed knowing there was a lot to be explained.
So yes, Fairy Tail arrived, met a new group, their quest and Natsu ate all their food. I feel it's a solid introduction chapter. If I had more juice around, I would pretty much have done the whole scorpion hot pot, but I am not like this.
Also, I know that in Fairy Tail they ate monsters, but I feel those monsters are already record to be known to be edible, the ones down there they have no idea if its good or it might led to someone death by one bite. Yeah, this kind of eating.
For their magic I don't know what kind of magic Laios and Chilchuck would have Marcille is a multi-caster type, she can do fire magic, water magic, air magic, earth magic and so much on, she will be seen as a prodigy. This is my head version.
