Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Price of Freedom. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own Sonic; Sega and a few others do.

There was VERY little that stopped her, if you had time to think about the issue? Then you weren't plotting of a way to remove it from the board before it caused an issue to you. That was how Princess Alicia Acorn had been raised.

Considering how she was currently serving the 'king' as he believed? That was another obstacle for her to remove, Scrouge did not care about the planet, only about lording his power over others, only about his constant need to be in charge… And she HATED it.

She tapped on the terminal. This was HER throne, this world belonged to HER and her alone. It would not be shepherded by someone who was too arrogant not to rule properly with some brainless floozy.

"Thankless moron to believe he could rule without any challenges…" Alicia muttered as she typed in more keys on the console a moment later. "That throne is reserved for me and me along, nobody else is more fit to lead then someone COMMANDS respect." Alicia hissed before she sighed, lowering her voice, closing her eyes as she thought about what happened next.

She couldn't be very loud about her plans at the moment. She knew more for a fact that there was nothing keeping him from simply killing her. He lost very little in his own mind by doing so which was something that further made her convinced that he COULDN'T wait to overthrow him. She couldn't wait to remind her at the end of the day.

That he had NO idea what she could control the moment. Alicia was a wild card. She could manipulate Scrouge at the time, slowly bide her time while waiting for a chance to put the dagger into his back and watching him fall. It was not the BEST of ideas, but she had never won a battle without risks at the end of the day and this? This plan couldn't proceed without her putting it into danger.

"The king wishes to see you." She heard from Miles as she rolled her eyes a moment later.

"When does he not, Miles?" Alicia asked the former sidekick of the king. "I want you to tell him I'm coming now…. And don't be surprised if I have to talk to the others already." Alicia said as she locked eyes with the flying fox.

He could see the resentment in his eyes, the desire to be the top of the food chain. Miles had ALWAYS been at Scourge's beck and call and it had slowly but surely ground any loyal feelings he had him into dirt. It was something that had constantly nagged at him.

The only issue between them? Miles had wanted the throne just as much as Alicia had. That caused them to scheme against each other at every moment they could manage. It was something that brought a smile to Alicia's lips once more, she still wanted to remove Miles…. But she was amused by the amount of power he had amassed for himself with his plans, that was something that made her smirk.

"Whatever you command, princess." Miles said, stressing the title as he knew what it would do one day.

How she loathed the very idea of playing toady to anyone. She needed someone who had the power to give her an opportunity to strike, she knew for a fact that there would come a chance soon if she just waited long enough and plotted under the radar, only discussed the topic of power.

"It's going to be very soon we're on opposite sides of the board, Miles." Alicia muttered as she slowly waled. "And I would HATE to see you as an enemy." Alicia stated which got a raised eyebrow.

"Hmm…" Miles said with a smirk playing at his lips at the moment. "We will see what the dice say, princess." Miles said as he shrugged.

"Don't attempt that." Alicia said while she cracked her fingers.

He was silent, aware of the fact that she was a better fighter then he. Miles was a genius, but he didn't understand war like she. Miles didn't know HOW to conduct himself within a field of battle which is WHY she had the power over him.

She just needed to bide her time for herself.
