Sonic DiC, a sonic the hedgehog fanfic

This is the Planet Mobius, A world beyond what you know from a certain series of Video Games, and chronicled in the TV Shows and Comics of old, It was once, a peaceful world, rich in Magic, Mystery and Adventure for all, Be they Hedgehog, Fox, Squirrel, Echidna or even a Hamun being.

Until one day, the evil Dr. Robotnik used his good standing with a king to betray him and turn the beloved Kingdom of Acorn Into a land of terror and pollution.

As the source of the new Regime's finances, The Aristocrats were spared from his wrath, to a point, While the rest of the Planet and its people were conquered, Subjugated and had their young indoctrinated into servitude.

And anyone who even attempted to fight back, was Roboticized, and reduced to soulless labor drones.

And that… Is the current state of Mobius that we see today…

The year was 3235, Ten years into the Robotnik Regime, And the City of Robotropolis, was now more than ever, the central hub of corruption, tyranny and darkness, A Small round craft descended from the skies, which were engulfed in the black smog emerging from the never ending factories of the city.

The craft was a Sleek Silver contraption with a black undercarriage, a big yellow light and decorated in warning stripes, And its pilot, a truly gruesome sight to behold.

Dr. Julian Robotnik was a Nightmare come to life, An enormously fat man, with a bald conical head and a long, dark, orange mustache under his nose, complimenting his black eyes with red irises, and small metallic stubs for ears.

He wore a Red and Black jumpsuit with yellow lines spanning up, down and around his body, Grey legging with black and white boots, Red shoulder pads then held up his yellow cape and a robotic arm attached to his shoulder.

"Home at last Cluck." He sighed in a low raspy voice to his Robotic Chicken, which was perched on his shoulder. "I do miss the beauty of this place when I'm away."

Soon the Egg Mobile came upon the citadel of the city, Citadel Robotnik, A large egg shaped building painted metallic black.

On the landing platform, a horde of Robotic Soldiers known as SwatBots were there to greet him. Among them was a small man, dressed in green, with a bulbous head, six small hairs on his head and a long nose, all standing at attention as the Doctor made his arrival and disembarked.

"Welcome home, Dr. Robotnik." Said the man, as his Master walked past. "How goes our Operations in the Marble Zone?"

"All good, Snively." Robotnik said, almost dismissively, as he and his Second in Command entered the Building and made their way to the main command center, Robotnik then took his seat in a rotating green chair with several Monitors before him.

"So Snively." Said the Doctor. "How goes the current situation with the Freedom Fighters? Any word from them?"

"Not exactly, Sir." Snively replied.

"What do you mean "Not Exactly?" asked Robotnik. "Either there is, or there isn't."

"Well I… We haven't exactly… They've been rather quiet lately actually." Snively said, trying to find the right words. "But we have been keeping a monitoring system between the Great Forest and the Green Hill Zone, Ah, In fact, Now we have a reading!"

Monitor Ten switched on to reveal an Orange Two Tailed Fox looking over some small devices.

"Ah, that IS a Freedom Fighter? Isn't it?" Said the Doctor.

"Affirmative Sir." Snively replied importantly. "They call him Tails and he's usually accompanied by… "You know who."

Dr. Robotnik growled. "Send in the Badniks!" He ordered. "Perhaps his cries will draw out… That Hedgehog…"

Meanwhile,

Miles Prower, Commonly known as Tails, fiddled with the EMP grenades, hoping to acquire the right frequency.

"Just… A Little…" The Young Fox said, as he jiggled with a few tiny wires, but just as he did, the grenade began to fizzle up. With a yelp, Tails jumped away from the tree truck he was sitting at, as it went off.

The young fox looked back up at the trunk and sighed in dismay. "Yep, those were definitely the faulty ones."

As he walked back to the truck, he heard a distinctive pair of sounds coming from behind,

He turned around and saw Two mechanical beings racing towards him, One was shaped like a ladybug on a wheel, the other was a large bee, with a blaster in place of a stinger.

"Hey Fox Boy!" Said the Ladybug Robot. "Dr. Robotnik sends his regards!"

"Get slagged Freedom Fighter!" The Bee Robot snarled as he shot a laser at the Fox, who quickly jumped out of the way, manipulated his tails to spin around, and took to the air!

"Huh, Didn't know he could do that." Said the Bee Robot, Bemused.

"You Idiot! Get after him!" Said the Ladybug Robot, and they gave chase.

Meanwhile, In another part of the Great Forest.

Two more Critters dressed in Jackets stood at the Bottom of an embankment. One was a Rabbit in a Red Jacket was Johnny, The Pig in the Black one was Porker.

"Ready when you guys are!" Came a Voice, seemingly from inside the Cliff Face itself.

The Rabbit and Pig both stepped aside as a hole was punched through the Rock, and a blue ball of speed flew out, impressively landing on his feet, was a Blue Hedgehog, dressed in nothing but Red and White Shoes, and Gloves.

This was Sonic the Hedgehog, The Fastest Thing Alive.

"So, How was that?" He asked his two friends with confidence.

"I'd say you set a new record, Sonic." Johnny said. "That was the third Tunnel you coasted through today."

"Not sure why you couldn't have done it at Green Hill, There's plenty of those Tunnels to roll down in." Said Porker.

"Yeah, But the Pokies around here could use more Holes, especially after Robotnik tore up their last Warren." Said Sonic, gesturing to a group of Pokies, One of which hopped up to Sonic and nuzzled his leg.

"It would be better if we could just get their old homes back." Sighed Johnny. "Maybe just, Burn down all the Doc factories…"

"Don't you DARE suggest Pyromania Lightfoot!" Exclaimed Porker, bringing his face close to his in a panicked motion. "The power of Fire is too great to Handle! The Carnage it brings… the Disaster of it all… Oh Gaia the mere thought of the fire… My little piggy mind could imagine…"

Sonic and Johnny stood there looking deadpanned as Porker had his meltdown.

"Okay Dude, We get it, your Dad was a Pyromaniac in the great war." Sonic said.

Porker exhaled and almost continued his rant until they all heard a scream coming from the forest.

"AH! SOMEONE HELP!"

"Wait, Is that Tails?" Sonic asked. "I thought he was working on the EMP Gadgets."

"He was." Johnny said, as he pulled out a Metal Staff, while Porker got a gun.

The three Freedom Fighters then raced off to the sound of Tails' voice, When they found him, he was flying desperately away from a pursuing Moto Bug and Buzz Bomber.

"Sonic! Help! Cried Tails as the Buzz Bomber tried to shoot at him, Sonic jumped up, and pushed Tails out of the way as the Laser hit a Rock and shot back up at the Buzz Bomber, blowing it to bits.

"Buzz Bomber, NO!" Exclaimed the Moto Bug, As Johnny proceeded to smash it with his staff, Just then, The Rabbit was knocked off his feet as a pair of Crab Robot, Known as Crabmeat jumped out and fired Fire Balls at him, with hidden Canons in their claws.

Porker then stepped in and fired his gun at the Crabmeats, Destroying them both and freeing the Critters inside of them.

As Sonic set Tails on his feet, the Four rescued Critters crowded around him, thankful for the Rescue.

"Hey Little Guys, Happy to help." Said Sonic, before turning to his friend. "You okay Tails?"

"Yeah, Thanks Sonic." Said the young Fox, just then, a green chameleon Robot suddenly appeared. It was Newtron, A deadly Badnik, though this one didn't seem to be attacking, Sonic looked into its eyes and realized who was watching.

"Oh, Enjoy the show Robotnik?" He asked. "You better, Because if that's the best you got for today, then you are history, done, through, out of here, cause the Freedom Fighters are up and on the Job!"

"Yeah!" Said Tails, Johnny and Porker.

"Oh Mark my words Hedgehog." Robotnik's voice drawled from the other end. "Before this day is done, You and the Power Rings will be right in the palm of my hand!"

"Wanna hold our breath guys?" Sonic asked.

The others shook their heads.

"Then let's Juice and Jam!" Grabbing both Johnny and Porker, Sonic sped off with a Blur with Tails following close behind.

Later,

Soon the four Friends came upon a small cliff overlooking a hidden valley in the forest, And before them, was a large tree, Porker pulled on a vine and a hidden slide was revealed within the tree.

"Home sweet home guys." Said Sonic. "Hopefully they've bean able to manage without us."

"I dare you to try telling that to Sally." Johnny scoffed.

Sonic just shrugged as he jumped down the slide first, followed by Tails, Porker and finally Johnny, who sealed the entrance behind them. They four friends hurdled and slid down a hollow trunk of oak, before flying out and landing in a stack of hay.

As they emerged, they heard the sounds of construction coming from the Village.

"Sounds like the others are already at work." Said Porker.

"Oh boy, A Hedgehog's day is never done." Sonic rolled his eyes.

Knothole Village was a hub of thatched roof cottages, Tree Houses and rope bridges, spanning throughout the forest, and the Hollowed trees that made up home to the many refugees of the long lost Mobotropolis, In a central part of the Village, Several Catapults undergoing maintenance, A Penguin named Tux and a Chicken called Chirps heaved they pulled off the broken arm one of the Catapults, helped by a purple walrus by name of Rotor.

"Ah, Very good Mah friends." Said a Coyote from not too far away, One Antione D'Coolette, who simply waved over to a throwing arm in much better nick than the rest. "Now, Up we go with the new one."

"Gee, Thanks for the help Antione." Rotor grumbled.

"Ah, think nothing of it." Antione replied dismissively.

A small Lion named Cyrus inspected the arms. "Uh, Princess, We are aware of how these things keep breaking right?"

"We're working on it Cyrus." Replied, said Princess, Sally Acorn was a beautiful female squirrel, or chipmunk, or… whatever, With short beautiful red hair, Blue Boots and a Vest and was currently holding a small handheld device up to scan at the Catapults. "Nicole, Search Data bank for entry, variable, Catapult, allow for an extra 1000 pound capacity, and begin statistics."

"Working Sally." Said an AI Voice from the device as it began computing, It was then that Antione somehow got from behind that Catapults to right beside the Princess. "Ah, you are most beautiful when you work Princess Sally."

Sally wasn't impressed. "Antione, just so you know, I may be a Princess, But out here, the only royalty is Mother Nature."

"Eh, To me, you'll always be Royalty." Antione replied, as he took her hand and gave small peck.

"How come she nevers that to us when we call her Princess?" Tux whispered to Cyrus, who shrugged.

Then, Nichole finished her diagnosis and then spoke. "Variable Identified, Cotterpins."

"Cotter Pins? Of course!" Said Sally.

"Yeah, the ones we have are made of Wood." Said Rotor. "And don't mesh well with the payload weight, causing them to break the arms!"

"So they have to be metal, Got it." Sally nodded. "But we're gonna need to get them from…"

Just then, Everyone heard a whooshing sound, and in came Sonic, followed by Johnny, Porker and Tails.

"Oh hey, Sonic's back." Said Cyrus.

Sonic then zoomed past Antione, who spun around like a top, before coming to a dizzy stop.

"Oh hey Ant." Said Sonic. "You look a little green, Actually you look better green, you should keep it."

Sonic then turned and saw Sally with an annoyed expression directed at him.

"Oh boy, What's wrong Sal." Sonic sighed.

"Sonic, I thought you were gonna help overhaul the catapults." Sally demanded.

"Oh come on, What about yesterday?"

"What about it?"

"Didn't I help then?"

"...No."

"NO?!" Exclaimed Sonic.

"Is there an echo?"

"What about the day before yesterday?"

"Sonic, are you gonna help out or not?" Sally finally asked.

"I was, I can, I am." Sonic replied.

"Thank you." Sally said, before showing Sonic the Catapult schematics. "Now, I need you and Tails to go to Robotropolis, and get a new supply of Metal Cottorpins for the Catapults.

"Robotropolis?" Sonic asked, glancing over at the two tailed Fox as he looked over a Catapult with Rotor. "With Tails?"

"I know it's a risk bringing him along with Sonic." Sally said. "But he's still got a big enough IQ to bypass Robotnik's traps. Take Johnny and Porker with you too."

"Well Okay." Said Sonic. "But you know that means having to deal with…"

"Yeah." Sally groaned. "I know you don't like him but-"

"It's cool Sal." Sonic said. "I'll go."

He called out to Tails, Johnny and Porker. "Hey guys! Mission time?"

"Aw, But we just got back." Moaned Porker.

"Sorry Porker, duty calls." Sonic replied, as he took his hand and Johnny's. "Later guys!" And he took off, with Tails quickly flying off after them. "Hey guys! Wait for me!"

"You sure it's a good idea sending them off so soon?" Asked Rotor.

"I don't know." Sally pondered. "I mean, I know Robotropolis is dangerous, But they're just gonna see…"

Meanwhile,

"WES WEASLEY! That's the name, and sellings the game! You need it, I got it! Don't get it, I'll get it! Got the best wears in all of Robotropolis here, Look no farther than here!"

A lone Weasel salesman, dressed in yellow stood around the Marketplace, making his bid for Sales, as Sonic and the gang watched from afar.

"There's the slimeball." Muttered Sonic. "I hate the guy, but he's our main link to the underworld."

"And provide intel and supplies when we need it." Porker added.

Sonic scoffed. "Let's just get this over with."

The four Freedom Fighters approached the Weasel, who quickly turned around upon their arrival. "Ah, The Knothole Boys, And what per say, does Princess Sally require this time, any souvenirs of her lost childhood? Locations of Robotnik stock piles? Newest weapon plans?"

"Cut the jabbering Weasley." Sonic said. "We're looking for Metal Cottorpins, do you have any or know where we can find some?"

"Ah, Cottorpins you say?" Weasley smiled. "A little pricey, but should be easy to find, Just give me a moment."

He searched his own stand for Cottorpins. "How many are we talking?"

"Uh, 12." Said Tails.

"Oh 12, a lovely number." Weasely said, as he pulled the supplies out. "That'll be 30 rings and 5 Medals."

"Sure." Porker replied, pulling out a pouch and unpacking the necessary currency.

"Wow, You really strike a hard Bargain." Tails said.

"All part of Business Kiddo." Weasely said, Before noticing something and looked pale. "Oh boysy, I-I'd move on if I were you palsies."

And with that, he packed up his shop and scurried off, same with several other bystanders as a small group of Robots appeared, They looked Mobian, but were as Metalic in shape and body as a Badnik, Tails shuddered as he hid behind Johnny, who looked sorrowful along with Porker, while Sonic just glared.

"Sonic." Asked Tails. "W-What kind of Badniks are those?"

"They used to be people, like us." Sonic replied, as he watched the Robots pass by. "Until they probably did something Robotnik didn't like, so he put them in his Roboticizer, now they're mindless drones working in his factories."

Sonic then winced, as Bad memories came flooding back to him.

"Guys, Help me… Somebody help me! AGGGHHHH!"

Sonic then jolted back to reality, after a quick shake from Johnny.

"Dude, are… are you alright?" He asked.

"Yeah, Yeah, I'm fine just…" Sonic said, shaking his head. "Just… remembering."

"Yeah… We were there too, you know." Porker said. "What happened to Ben…"

"Uncle Chuck too." Said Sonic as a tear rolled down his face.

"Hey, We'll find him one day." Johnny said. "Just you wait and see."

"...One day…" Sonic said, clenching his fists. "Until then…" Sonic perked upon seeing a particular Robian go by, It was rather short, obviously a yellow dog with brown spots, Which Sonic knew all too well.

"Y-You guys." He said. "That's… That's Ben!"

"What?!" Exclaimed Porker.

"No way!" Said Tails, staring at the Robot child in surprise. "That's Ben the Muttski!"

"Yeah, I gotta get to him!" Sonic said, as he sped off after the Robian Boy.

"Sonic Wait!" Cried out Johnny, But Sonic was already by the Robot's side.

"Ben! Ben it's me! Sonic!" Sonic said, grabbing the Mutt by the arm. "Remember me?!"

The Robian just snarled and yanked away from Sonic, and let out a loud beeping noise. In an instant, A fleet of Hovor Pods were instantly among them, Each Piloted by SWAT Bots.

"Priority One: HEDGEHOG!" It beeped. "Priority One: HEDGEHOG!"

"Oh crap." Sonic deadpanned, and quickly jumped out of the way of a blaster bolt, Johnny, Tails and Porker all drew their weapons out and yelped as More SWAT Bots came and surrounded them.

"Priority One: HEDGEHOG!"

"Oh thanks a lot Sonic!" Exclaimed Johnny, as he jabbed a SWAT with his Staff. "Guess we're next on the Roboticizer list.

"Hey, no one's Roboticizing this hog.: Sonic smirked. And he immediately jumped up and spin attacked the nearest SWATbot, and repeated with few more, until the four Freedom Fighters managed to slip through the robotic ranks and fled down the streets of Robotropolis, with the Hovor Pods in pursuit.

"Priority One: HEDGEHOG!"

Sonic sped along, quickly Dodging any shots the SWATbots fired at him, up ahead, A Roadblock had been Erected to stop the Hedgehog, he simply just served to the left, down an alleyway, with Tails following behind as he carried Johnny and Porker, they quickly found themselves at a dead end.

"Oh we're trapped now." Porker worried, but Sonic just smirked.

"Not a chance, Lewis." Sonic said as he grabbed the pig, and tossed him into an air vent, quickly jumping in himself with Tails and Johnny.

"Sonic, where are we?" Asked Tails.

"An air vent." Said Sonic. "Probably leading Somewhere."

"Like a way out?" Johnny asked.

"Something like that." Sonic said as they crawled along the vent, Sonic, Tails, Johnny and Porker traveled through the dark vent for some time, before finally coming across something that made them all internally yelp.

Through a vent they found Dr. Robotnik himself, addressing his assistant, Snively and a large assortment of Badniks, SWATbots, Moto Bugs, Buzz Bombers, Crabmeats and Newtrons all stood at attention as the Doctor stood next to a stack of tankers with a strange yellow liquid inside.

"My dear creations." Robotnik Declared. "Tonight, will be my final confrontation with that miserable Hedgehog, the end of his Insurgency, and the day I finally claim the power rings!"

"Oh sweet Gaia." Johnny Bemoaned. "We're In Robotnik's Citadel!"

"Inside these tanks, is a new chemical I personally developed." Dr. Robotnik explained. "That a horde of Badniks, led by Badnik Commander, Bomber-One, will spray over the Great Forest, and instantly kill all Trees, and finally reveal the Freedom Fighters secret hiding place, Knothole Village! Finally allowing us to capture Princess Sally! and if that Hedgehog gets involved again, here's another surprise for Him…"

On Robotnik's que, Snively pressed a Button and a door from above opened up, to reveal a strange missile being lowered, Its nose was black and peach,blue fins that resembled Sonic's spines, three power ringed inspired circles on its body and a red exhaust.

"This will be my ultimate trump card for him." Robotnik declared. "The Hedgehog Seeking Missile! Which Bomber-One will take into Battle with him!"

The Missile was then attached to a sinister looking Buzz Bomber, painted Black and yellow, and had a jet lined head. "Robotnik's word is law."

Before Sonic and the others could slip away, A Neutron suddenly appeared in the vent causing them to jump back and send Sonic and Tails tumbling out of the vent and into the very same room with Robotnik and his Minions.

"Well, Well." Robotnik said deviously. "What a nice surprise, Hedgehog, we were just talking about you."

Sonic gulped as a pair of SWATBots seized both him and Tails. "Did we miss Dinner?" Sonic asked.

"Oh far from it, Hedgehog." Robotnik sniggered. "In fact, I believe the Choppers shall eat well tonight."

He opened a trap door, filled with water, and gnashing red Piranha Robots, Eagerly awaiting to tear both Sonic and Tails apart.

"Oh boy, this is it, Sonic!" Tails quivered. "We're done for… also how can Robot fish even survive in the water without short circuiting?"

"No way Tails." Sonic said Bravely. "There's still too much work to do!"

Johnny and Porker then jumped out of the vent, and Porker fired his shots at the two SWATbots holding Sonic and Tails, the latter who grabbed Sonic as a Chopper leaped at them. Upon touching Solid ground, Sonic zoomed out of the room with his friends not too far behind.

"Get him! Get him! GET HIM! GET THE HEDGEHOG!" Robotnik roared madly.

The four Freedom Fighters then found themselves in a hanger and quickly comendered the nearest Hovor Pod, and few out of there, with several other Pods and Buzz Bombers giving chase.

"They're still on our tail!" Said Porker as he took the controls, Johnny quickly took to the turret position and fired upon their pursuers, taking out a few as more kept coming.

"We've got the whole of Robotropolis chasing us now!" Exclaimed Tails.

"Then it's time we hit warp speed!" Said Sonic, and he pressed a certain button on the control panel, the Hovor Pod then blasted away from Robotropolis, and boated away to the great Forest, Robotnik then came along in his Egg Mobile, The Egg o Matic, and pressed a button on his comms.

"Snively, Accelerate preparations for the Attack." He ordered. "And have my wrecking ball prepared just in case."

Meanwhile,

Back in Knothole, Sally sat by the window of her room as Rosie the Woodchuck entered the room.

"Huh, It's bad enough that Sonic doesn't help out much." She sighed. "Now I'm worried for him, Tails, Johnny and Porker too."

"Now, Now Princess." Rosie comforted. "I'm sure they'll be alright, Sonic IS a natural at evading Robotnik's traps, after all."

"Rosie, Do you think Sonic shirks his duties and does all those childish stunts just to make me mad?" Sally asked.

"Oh dear child." Rosie said. "That's just Sonic, It's what makes him special."

Suddenly, the door was flung open and an elderly Cat named "Cat" came in.

"Princess!" He panted. "Sonic's back, and he's got Terrible news!"

Sally and Roise followed Cat to where Sonic was, he had gathered all the other Freedom Fighters together and was telling them everything.

"And the Badniks are going to commit a full scale attack!" Sonic finished. "And they've got a new chemical to kill all the tree's and expose Knothole!"

"What do we do?!" Asked Rotor.

It was then that Sally stepped in. "We cut them off at the Green Hill Zone!" She declared.

Soon.

"Great Forest ahead, Fifteen Minutes." Said Bomber One, As he led the four Blue Newtrons carrying the Chemical tankers towards the great forest, followed by a cavalcade of Buzz Bombers, Moto Bugs, Newtrons and Crabmeats across the luscious green checkered landscape of the Green Hills Zone, which was a area of droopy palm trees, and short mountains in the distance, It was known for being hard to travel through, due to its giant loops in the roads and crumbling cliffs, not to mention all the floating platforms. Spike pits and springs, which made moving the Catapults across to battle difficult for the Freedom Fighters.

"Well, this sucks." Rotor said, scratching his head.

"We can get as far as the rope bridge, but the range of the catapults is still limited." Said Sally. "We need the Buzz Bombers to fly close enough to be in proper range."

"What about the Ground forces?" Asked Tux. "The catapults can't repel those."

"Well, If we cannot be getting past all ze loopedy loops and floating plat forums, what hope do they have?" Antione questioned.

"That would slow them down." Sally noted. " Then we'll just have to engage them ourselves."

"Leave that to me." Sonic declared. "Badniks already hate my guts, so they'll follow me anywhere, Including inside our Catapult range."

"That sounds about right." Sally nodded.

"So leave it to me!" Sonic declared and with that, he took off, coming at the Badniks head on!

"Priority One: HEDGEHOG!" Bomber One said, as he took notice of Sonic. "Engage!"

A swarm of Moto Bugs sped forward and tried to swipe and stab at the Blue Hedgehog with their pincers, He dodged these attacks and spin attack the first Moto Bug, Somersaulted over the next, grabbed it, and slammed it into a third, than zipped off as he slammed into a Crabmeat.

Several Buzz Bombers swooped down and fired at him, only for Sonic to avoid their fire and leapt up to take one down.

Elsewise, The rest of the Freedom Fighters quickly set about their battle positions, Sally led Rotor, Antione, Johnny, Porker and Tails across the bridge after Sonic, While the rest remained behind with the Catapults as they prepared to fire.

"Stand your ground Freedom Fighters." Ordered Sally as she took up a fighting stance. "We have to protect the Catapults!"

As she said this, Several Moto Bugs and Crabmeats came darting forward to engage, Sally kicked on Moto Bug and Karate chopped another, while Antione Drew his Sword and fueled with a Crabmeat, who caught his blade in his pincers, before the Coyote could react, Johnny Lightfoot jumped in and batted it away with his staff.

Meanwhile, Rotor set up a small Array of sentry guns, which fired at another on coming platoon of Moto Bugs, and blew them to smithereens, Tails took to the sky and found a Buzz Bomber swooping right at him, causing the young fox to duck as the Buzz Bomber was shot down by Porker.

Back with Sonic, he continued smashing his way through Badniks, until a plasma ball knocked him off his feet, he looked up to see two Green Newtrons laughing at him.

Sonic growled as he got up on his feet, charged towards the Newtrons, curled into a ball, spun up the slope the two lizard badniks were on, and destroyed one, than flew into the air for a moment, before descending down and smashing the other, releasing the Animal inside.

Sonic gave the critter a smile before darting off, as Bomber One looked on.

"Priority One: HEDGEHOG!" He droned. "Engaging missile."

The Hedgehog Missile on his back activated And took off after it's designated target, who meanwhile, found himself facing a Blue Newtron, that leapt and Snapped at Sonic, transforming into a Rocket and chasing after Sonic, The hedgehog than ran up a hill and jumped onto the Neutron, riding him like a Bull, Until finally flying him upwards, with the Missile in hot pursuit, Directing the flight pattern of the Newtron, Sonic directed it right towards the consists of other Neutrons carrying the dreaded chemical tanks, and then hopped onto them, letting the Missile get close, before jumping off as it hit the tankers, resulting in an explosion that sent whatever was left of the chemical was sent pouring into the nearby water.

Bomber One was outraged, looking right at Sonic as he landed on a Hilltop, he charged at him, firing a Laser repeatedly, Sonic then noticed a Tunnel and turned to a small Pocky.

"Hey, Mind if I use your Tunnel?" He asked, The Pocky nodded, and Sonic spin dashed down the hole as Bomber One gave chase, followed by Several other Buzz Bombers.

Back at the Bridge, The Freedom FIghters were giving it their all, Rotor swatted a Crabmeat with his wrench, Just as Chopper jumped across his face, In an instant two more Choppers leapt over the Bridge taking Bites at the Freedom Fighters, But Tails managed to Spin attack them and free the Animals inside.

"Look, Sonic's coming!" He called as they all saw Sonic running back towards them with the Buzz Bombers on his tail.

"Cyrus! Get ready to fire!" Sally called back.

"On it!" Cyrus replied. "Ready?"

And as Soon as Sonic rejoined the group. "Fire!"

The Catapults went off, sending various Rocks, Earth and other debris at the Buzz Bombers, completely destroying them.

"Contact Dr. Robotnik!" Bomber One declared as a water balloon hit his face. "We have failed!"

"What?! Bomber One!" Said Dr. Robotnik's voice from over the coms. "No retreat! Get after that Hedgehog! Do you hear me? I want the Hedgehog!"

But it was no use, The Badniks were in full retreat, along with all the other remaining Badniks, The Freedom Fighters cheered as they celebrated their victory.

Meanwhile,

From another part of the Green Hill Zone, Robotnik watched the whole battle play out from his Egg O Matic, and growled to himself. "Useless rust buckets! I'll show them how to deal with Freedom Fighters!"

"You uh… fire a laser at them Sir?" Asked Snively over the coms.

Robotnik's response was the slam of a Button and the bottom of the Mobile opened to reveal a checkered ball and chain.

"YOU SQUASH THEM!" Robotnik roared as he raced off to finish the Hedgehog Himself.

Meanwhile,

"You were really great today Sonic." Sally said as she high fived him.

"Thanks Sal." Said Sonic. "What about yesterday?"

"What about it?" Sally asked.

"Well wasn't I great yesterday?" He asked.

"Hmm, So So."

"So So?!"

"Is there an Echo?"

"I'll give you rodents an echo."

Everyone looked up in shock and Terror as Dr. Robotnik appeared above in his Egg Mobile.

"Zut alors! It is Robotnik!" Shouted Antione.

"Oh yes, You'll all be echoing the screams of your own agony by the time I'm through with you all." Robotnik seethed. "Do you all have any idea how long it takes to manufacture these Badnik! Not a lot, But that's besides the point!"

"Says the big cheese himself." Sonic scoffed as he stepped forward to face Robotnik.

"Now as for you, Hedgehog." Robotnik sneered as he got closer. "You've been a constant thorn in my side a lot today, and for that, I'd like to introduce you to a new game of mine, It's called, WRECKING HOG!"

And he swung the wrecking ball at Sonic, Who quickly jumped over it, this went on again and again, with Sonic occasionally hitting the underside of the machine, until he managed to jump onto it and removed the exhaust port.

"Slow down and let me squash you, Rodent!" Robotnik screamed.

"As fun as the at sounds, Robuttnik, I'd rather send you flying off into the sunset." Sonic replied. "Have a nice trip!"

And he yanked out all the white, the Machine stopped for a moment, and the engine started to rev up.

"Uh oh." Robotnik gulped.

And then it took off into the Horizon, with Robotnik screaming all the while.

"Catch you later, Botnik!" Sonic called.

"Well that went well." Said Sally.

"Yep, just a regular day for us Freedom Fighters." Sonic said. "Anyone up for Chilli Dogs?"

As the victorious heroes left for home, A Lone figure in a cloak watched them go.

"Yes, Even though a long darkness still remains, before our Freedom's dawn." She replied.
