Millennia's Army

As always, Kaiba was running his company with regular assistance from his younger brother Mokuba and their Digimon partners Agumon and Guilmon. Much like his friends, however, even Kaiba had times when he couldn't focus on his priorities as company president because he also had his heroic life to think about too. Still, he tried not to let himself get distracted. Of course, the brunette would ofthen think about his friends and wonder how they were all doing. He doubted any of them were having it any easier. It had also been more than a week since he last talked to any of them. Thankfully, he had everyone's schedules and would remind himself to check in with them whenever either of them would be next available.

He felt his cell phone vibrating in his pocket. He checked it and saw that Yugi was calling. "Hello, Yugi."

"Hi, Kaiba. Sorry to call you when I know you're busy–,"

"Don't worry about it," the brunette interrupted. "I was hoping to hear from you. How have you been?"

"I'm doing okay," Yugi answered simply, though his tone said differently.

Kaiba figured as much as he listened. "What about Wheeler and Briar?"

Yugi was silent for a second before answering. "They're okay too, but really, we're all still healing."

Kaiba softly sighed. "That's what I figured." He couldn't blame any of his friends. In truth, he was still in the process of healing too; especially after how their last battle left every one of them totally traumatized. And everyone knows such trauma isn't easy to recover from. But for Kaiba, it caused him to feel a terrible amount of rage. Anyone would feel that way when the lives of friends and family are being threatened by one of the most dangerous villains ever to be faced.

Kaiba cleared his throat. "Anyway, is there anything else going on?"

Yugi cleared his throat. "Well, my friends and I have been talking about it, and we've been thinking we should rally up all the heroes in the other worlds for another council meeting. What do you think, Kaiba?"

The brunette thought about it. "Good idea," he replied. "We should let everyone know what happened as well as what's going on right now." He looked at his schedule. Nothing important was booked on his agenda today. "I'll meet you at the game shop in twenty minutes."

"Okay," Yugi replied. "I'll let Joey and Emily know. Téa and Tristan will also be joining us."

"It's fair that they should," said Kaiba. "Not just because they're friends, but because they're heroes too."

"My point exactly," said Yugi. "I'll see you later, Kaiba." And the two of them settled the agreement and ended the call.

Mokuba overheard the conversation and got the same idea. "Seto, would it be all right if I took Guilmon and met up with my own friends?"

Kaiba figured Mokuba wanted to see his friends for the same reason; to talk about the events regarding their adventure in Paris. He nodded in approval. "You can go. We'll head to the Secret Garden together, go our separate ways, then meet each other back home." He looked at his own Digimon partner. "Agumon, do you think you can hold down the fort for half an hour?"

The yellow dragon Digimon saluted. "You can count on me." He really wanted to go along with Kaiba and Mokuba, but he also understood how important it was to run the company. So Kaiba, Mokuba, and Guilmon left the estate and went to their limo. During the ride, Mokuba contacted his friends Rebecca and Leon and asked them to meet him in the Secret Garden in fifteen minutes.

When they got to the game shop, Kaiba told the driver to take the limo back and that he and his brother would have another way home. The driver responded obediently and began driving the limo back to the estate. At the same time, Yugi and the others stepped out of the game shop. Now that everyone was present, they could head to the Secret Garden. When they got there, Mokuba and Guilmon left to meet up with Leon and Rebecca, promising to come back later. At the same time, the rest of the heroes began to call for all of their friends from the other worlds to come together in the council chamber.

As all of the heroes from all of the worlds began to assemble – minus those from London and Paris–, they greeted one another with friendly chatter, saying it was nice to see some familiar friends again. Some of them wondered if there was any news regarding the four Dark Masters or any doors to new worlds appearing. Téa and Tristan marveled at the sight of the council chamber. They also found their own assigned seats and sat down.

It started out like before. Yugi, Joey, Emily, and Kaiba stood at their respective stands in the center of the room, welcomed all of their friends, and they all sang the anthem. It was now time for business to get underway. Yugi started by once again thanking everyone for coming. "In our previous assembly, we took the liberty of informing everyone here that we were facing a new threat: the four Dark Masters. We also added the fact that doors to the worlds of those villains and their minions were appearing in hidden locations here in Pure Valley."

Ash spoke up. "You also warned us not to go looking for those doors and exploring those worlds since we don't know what kinds of worlds they'll lead to." Pikachu squealed in response.

"Yes, but we also promised to let any one of you know if we need help from any of you," Yugi added.

"But there is good news," said Joey. "One of the Dark Masters has been defeated, which means three remain." The screen behind him showed the images of the Dark Masters with the minister's image being blacked out. There was murmuring among some of the heroes. Others began asking questions such as what happened and how Yugi and the others were able to defeat Frollo. Of course, Yugi and his friends weren't comfortable about giving all of the specific details.

"It wasn't an easy battle," Yugi was saying, trying to keep it brief. "And after getting a taste of what Frollo was capable of, I can guarantee that the three remaining Dark Masters are going to be more formidable and dangerous."

Once again, many of the heroes nodded and murmured in agreement.

"What happened while you guys were in Paris?" Kagome asked. Though she had watched the movie back home with her family many times before, she wanted to hear the story from Yugi and the others' perspectives.

Emily tried to avoid the subject by saying, "I really don't want to talk about any of that right now."

"Let's just say we had a heck of an adventure," Joey said bluntly.

This time, Shippo spoke up. "But if Frollo's been defeated, then doesn't that mean that Paris is safe?"

"And the rest of us can visit that world if we want to?" Rini asked.

Kaiba knew that Rini and Shippo had been to Paris before because they were friends with his little brother and because he saw figurines of them in the bell tower. The brunette decided to give a clear, concise response. "Frollo has been defeated and apprehended, so Paris is safe. But we'll still be checking in with our friends back there to make sure it stays that way."

"But, yes, you can visit the world of Medieval Paris if any of you want to," said Joey. "Just remember that the rules apply as always and be careful when going to another world."

All of the heroes began chattering happily.

Kaiba pounded his gavel. "Let's not get carried away. Remember, three Dark Masters remain and will no doubt be more powerful."

"There's also always a chance we could end up facing one of their minions," Joey added.

"And right now, all we know about the Dark Masters is that they're plotting to plunge their worlds and the Disney Kingdom into darkness and evil," said Emily.

"Even our worlds?" Princess Zelda asked worriedly.

"We don't know for sure about that yet," Yugi was saying. "But if it does come down to that, it may end up having to take all of us to defeat the Dark Masters once and for all."

The thought of a possibility of a war was scary to think about. All of the heroes also knew that Yugi and the others were trying to keep everyone in the council – as well as their friends and families – safe. And though a lot of the heroes didn't understand the seriousness of the situation, they still wanted to help out in any way they would be able to.

"Do you really think there's a chance there could be a war?" Serena asked in a scared voice.

"Like I said, I don't know," Yugi answered again. He also knew there would be no point in hoping there wouldn't be. Sometimes the things people hope for not to happen end up happening. "We'll just have to be prepared for anything."

"It's like the matter of the Cobalt Star," said Emily. "None of us knows what will happen once all of the shards have been assembled. So hope for the best; prepare for the worst."

Inuyasha began thinking out loud. "We're kind of already at war, when you think about it." He explained the reminder that Millennia's followers and Cobalt's had been at war with each other for eons. Now all of the heroes from all of the worlds have been working together fighting the villains protecting the shards of the Cobalt Star.

As everyone listened to Inuyasha's claim, they agreed that he was making a lot of sense. "Then I guess this means that this here is Millennia's army."

Emily stifled a small giggle. "I guess it does." Everyone else started agreeing.

Kaiba forced a thin grin. He figured that in light of everything that was being mentioned about the possible chances of war against the Dark Masters and even the Dark Lord's minions, it might be beneficial for the heroes to form their own army. "Millennia's army," he said quietly. He spoke up and said, "Then I guess we should be serious about it." They all give him their attention. "We all come from different worlds. That means if we're all going to help each other, we have to teach one another to adapt to each other's strengths and weaknesses while still relying on our own abilities and expertise."

Emily agreed. She looked at her friends from the Xiaolin world. Omi, Kimiko, Raimundo, and Clay, your strengths lie in being the Wu-Dai warriors you are, but you can teach some of us here how to use Shen-Gong-Wu." The Wu-Dai warriors agreed.

Yugi spoke up. "Link and Inuyasha, sparring with you guys has helped me to get better at being a swordsman. Maybe you could benefit from each other in the same way." The boy and the half-breed looked at each other and smiled and nodded.

"And, Kagome, we've benefited from each other by adapting to each other's archery skills," Joey added.

With all of the examples everyone was pointing out, all of the heroes began chattering in agreement. As such, it was unanimous. This rally of heroes would also be Millennia's army.
