Disclaimer: I do not own My Hero Academia, Dungeons and Dragons, or Pathfinder.
Last chapter of this update and I know some people might be tick off about the lack of actions, but that will pick up in the next update since I have plans for Izuku to go back to Aldera for a second due to reasons (he's still expelled though) and officially confronts the twins' gang while he is there as well as some of his teachers. I feel that because that he was not in control during the alley fight, he won't really get the closure he needs to move on from the bullying he has endured. But I also want to keep with canon in how Katsuki did not bug Izuku during the ten-months and in this story, the threat from Inko will still be hanging over the twins' head.
Just so everyone is aware, next update will end the "Improvise Training" arc and Izuku will start his training at Ryuko's agency so I plan on speeding it up a little bit like one chapter will represents a month.
Though next update will explore the Dragonscape a bit more as well as the aftereffects of Izuku naming the dragons and giving them titles, both the good and bad. But it will also have Izuku and the girls facing their first real taste of danger.
Chapter 19
Amends and Realizations
"Call a dragon an "overgrown lizard" at your own peril."-Unknown
The crashing waves did little to calm the raging thoughts swirling in the heiress' head.
"All I have been doing is staring out at the waves. It has been a full week and mother and father will want a progress report soon and yet here I am wasting time", Momo thought.
"Yaoyorozu", she hears behind her and the girl turns around to see the last person she wanted to see standing there while looking straight at her with a large backpack on.
….
…..
…..
"Do you wish to tell me something or are you just going to keep standing there staring at me?", Momo asks after a moment.
"Honestly, I'm thinking about what I want to say. I humbly ask that you give me a moment please", came Izuku's response.
"Are you thinking of more insults to throw my way?", Momo asks as she crosses her arms and turns her head sideways in a huff.
"The stuff you said last Sunday wasn't exactly very nice either I recall", Izuku reminds her.
"I spoke nothing but the truth", Momo defends.
"Yeah, you did", Izuku says.
"Thus, I feel-wait, what did you say?", Momo says as she redirects her gaze back at Izuku.
"I said that everything you said last week, for the most part anyway, was the truth", Izuku admits.
"It…. was?", Momo says as she raises an eyebrow in confusion. Of all the things she was expecting from Izuku if she ever ran into him again, including possible violence, this was not one of them.
"Yes, I do have trouble with my quirk and, yes, I need to get it under control before the entrance exam but seeing how I won't be training with Ryukyu for five months I'm force to find a way to do it myself", Izuku spoke.
"You are not training with Ryukyu for five months?", Momo asks.
"Yeah, she says my evolving quirk might be too much for her agency to handle at this moment and that she needs time to make preparations for it", Izuku explains, "Regardless though, I find myself with five months to myself and ten months before the examination. Kendou's training is going well but I feel that I need more than that to get on track."
"What exactly are you trying to say to me?", Momo questions.
…..
…..
"I would like you to assist me in my training at the beach park for I feel your managing skills and keen mind would be a great benefit", Izuku says after a moment.
"I beg your pardon?", came Momo's reply.
"Let me explain", Izuku says as he reaches into his backpack and pulls out a familiar blue notebook, "I believe this is yours."
Momo's eyes widen in surprise as she looks at her Yaoyorictionary, certain that it would had ended up in the trash by now.
"Where did you find this?", she asks.
Izuku holds out the book toward the heiress, "I have enhanced vision now. Even when you stopped at the end of the road last week and threw it out the window, I still saw it as clear as day."
Momo slowly takes the book in her hands and keeps staring at it.
"I also took the liberty of reading through it", Izuku admits.
Momo snaps her head up at him upon hearing this, "You what?!"
"Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!", Izuku says while waving his hands in front of him. He could feel the anger rolling off of the girl at the invasion of privacy and was hoping to avoid a confrontation, "It wasn't for anything bad, I swear! It was more for curiosity than anything!"
Momo's narrows her eyes at Izuku but does nothing else.
"Explain", she then demands.
Izuku lets out a breath in relief, "Look, your…. dictionary caught my attention and so I decided to read through it the past week and I have to say I was utterly amazed by it."
"You were?", Momo says, her anger quickly vanishing upon hearing these words.
"I was. The amount of detail and research you put into experimenting with your quirk was phenomenal! You had a set schedule for workouts and combat training, a long list what diet of foods produce the most fat cells, detail information about the new objects that you have tried out and even jotting down how to make the things you produce the strongest of their type along with theories on how to modify them at the molecular level!", Izuku praises as he reaches into his backpack and pulls back out his own notebook, "After reading all that, I came up with a theory of my own, and wrote it down in my Hero Analysis Notebook that if you can construct objects then there should be a possibility that you can reverse that process and be able to deconstruct objects, even if they weren't made by you, as well as long as you're aware of the molecular structure that makes it up!"
Momo's eyes widen at this for such a thought has never occur to her before.
"I always been focusing on creating things, but is it possible for me to...destroy them as well with my quirk?", she thought before refocusing on Izuku as he continues to talk excitedly while flipping through his notebook.
"Though I disagree about the part where you think your chest is the best place to form certain objects!", he says as a light blush graces his cheeks.
Momo could not help but feel a slight bit miff at this but decides to at least hear the boy out, "Then where could be the place to produce certain objects?
"Objects such as your bo staff would be better if produce directly from the palm of your hand", Izuku says as he now pulls out the bo staff that Momo created last Sunday.
"He kept that?", Momo says.
"The reasoning behind this being that if you form it directly from your palm then your vision is not obscure in the middle of a fight, as it would be if you pull it up out of your chest like you did last week! Plus, if someone was to attack you before you could finish then you could cut off the construction and still, more than likely, have a viable weapon to attack and defend yourself with!", Izuku explains as he holds up the staff from one end.
"So, like a baton then?", Momo asks as she recognize the way he was holding it.
"Exactly!", Izuku answers, making the taller girl flinch back a little due to the energy he was giving off.
"How can he have so much energy in such a small body?", Momo thought but then she shifts her thoughts to how Izuku's theory actually did make a lot of sense. While yes, she has train hard to get the time it took to create most objects down to a couple of seconds, that is still a long time when you are in the middle of a fight. Making something quick and ready to use in the midst of combat would help her out greatly, even if it was not her bo staff to which she was most familiar with.
Momo's eyes then fall on the notebook Izuku was holding.
"Midoriya, might I please see your notebook?", she then asks, being Izuku's tirade to a halt.
"M-My notebook?", Izuku says as he instinctively clutches the item close to his chest.
"Well you read through my Yaoyorictionary so I believe it is only fair that I get to read your, I believe you called it your Hero Analysis Notebook, correct?", Momo says.
"I believe she has a fair point there", Dogal says as he appears behind Izuku.
The boy concedes that his dragon was indeed right and slowly hands the notebook to the girl who starts reading through it with due haste and the more she flips through the pages the more Izuku's anxiety grew.
Up to this moment, he has rarely shown anyone his analysis notebooks. At best, his father has glimpse through it once, his mom maybe twice at best, and there was that one incident with his teacher who confiscated it on the last day of school in his second year. Other than that, no one has ever seen them in detail and this one especially since it was also the one he remade in regards to the top-rank pro heroes that the Bakugo twins destroyed.
Moments later, Momo slams the notebook shut and this snaps Izuku out of his thoughts as he looks up and see the girl's eyes as wide as tire wheels.
"Midoriya…. you are a...", Momo starts to say.
"Nerd. Loser. Social awkward fanboy. Stalker. Someone who really needs to grow-up and get a life, possibly a girl-", Izuku told himself as the list of things she would possibly say to him ran through his mind.
"A Quirk Analysis protege", Momo finishes.
"Say what now?", Izuku asks, not sure if he heard her right.
"You have a keen eye and a detailed mind that surpasses even mine in some regards that would no doubt impress even top-rated professional quirk analysts and the fact that you are the same age as me only adds to how skilled you really are", Momo states, "Even if you did not have a quirk, you would have gone far as a quirk analyst for a hero's agency, perhaps even a top-rank one."
….
"Thank you", Izuku finally says after a moment, his brain having finally caught up with the rest of his body, "That really means a lot coming from someone like you."
"Your welcome", Momo says, "But moving back to the original matter at hand, I am afraid that I cannot aid you in your training."
Whatever high spirits Izuku was in now came crashing down as the heiress spoke those words.
"Believe or not, the reason is not personal despite the confrontation we had earlier", Momo says, "I have recently been task by my parents to acquire part of this beach and get it set up to construct a water park on its grounds."
"A water park?", Izuku says.
"Yes, plus I have my own training to do in order to get ready for the entrance exam since there is a chance I will have to take the standard one myself", Momo says, the disappointment in her voice evident, despite her attempt to mask it, due to Izuku's enhance hearing.
"Oh yeah, that reminds me. I called Ryukyu the night of our little "argument" and ask her a few questions about you", Izuku admits.
"Oh?", Momo says, this bit of information catching her full attention, "May I inquire what questions were asked?"
The tone changes in her voice did not go unnoticed by Izuku who decided to approach carefully.
"Despite what you may think it was for, I actually call her to see what exactly you did to get your recommendation."
"You made your beliefs on how I got that abundantly clear last week", Momo points out.
"I did, but I figure it wouldn't hurt to find out whether or not they were actually true", Izuku retorts, "Anyway, she told me about how you first try to get her recommendation, how you earned it, and how you never once try to bride her to get it. She told me how you impress her with your drive and the ways your kept increasing the usages of your quirk."
"She did?", Momo says as her face lit up in a smile.
"But she also told me how you lost it a full month and a half before she even met me. How you didn't take her advice when she gave it because you thought you knew better. Sound familiar?", Izuku then says and he watches as that smile turn into a frown.
"Oh", Momo says as her face forms an expression that would have fit perfectly on a child who just got caught with their hand in the cookie jar.
"I was just an outlet for your anger, wasn't I? A means to take out your frustration for something that was clearly all your fault?", Izuku asks, his tone even though hints of anger appear here and there while he spoke.
….
…..
For a moment, only the crashing of the behind waves Momo could be heard and it took a second for the girl to gather up the nerve to speak as she found herself looking down at the sand in front of her.
"You were. I worked so hard to get Ryukyu's recommendation and when she took it away, I just felt so betrayed. I knew I was at fault but I just did not want to admit it to myself", Momo finally says, "And then when I watched the press brief Ryukyu gave at the hospital on the day of your quirk manifestation and she declared that she was going to train you for the U.A. entrance exams, that feeling of betrayal turn into anger and that anger was directed solely at you."
Izuku says nothing and just stands there quietly.
"I own you an apologize, Midoriya, for my behavior was unbecoming of a lady such as myself", Momo then says.
"You owe me no such thing", Izuku interjects and Momo finds herself taken back by such a statement.
"I…. I beg your pardon."
"You don't owe me an apology, Yaoyorozu", Izuku says, "But make no mistake, I don't owe you one either."
"I am afraid I do not understand. We both said horrible things to each other and I started all of this", Momo says.
"Yes, to all of that, but some of the things we said to each other were also true. I need to get better control of my quirk for the U.A. exam and I will more than likely need Ryukyu's support just to take it. You were right when you said that I only got through that fight with the rock villain because Ryukyu saved me in time and that if I don't get my quirk under control someone may well die at my hands", Izuku explains, "But I was right when I stated that you took your anger out on me for your recommendation being drop despite me telling you that I had nothing to do with it and that particular subject seems to be the whole source for everything that has happen between us."
….
"So what you are saying is…?", Momo says.
"Is that both of us spoke the truth to a degree, both of us were in the wrong, and neither one of us owes the other an apology because since we do people need to apologize for speaking the truth?", Izuku says, "Trust me, I had a lot of time to think this all over."
"And think you did", Dogal says as a smile begin to grace his lips.
"So where do we go from here then?", Momo asks.
"I've been giving that some thought too and personally, I think we should put this whole thing behind us, learn from it to become better people, and move on with our lives. But since our first meeting wasn't ideal….", Izuku says before putting his arms to his sides and bowing, "I am Izuku Midoriya and it is a pleasure to meet you, Momo Yaoyorozu!"
Momo raises an eyebrow at this notion and only stares at the bowed figure of Izuku for a moment before letting out a giggle that quickly turn into full-blown laugh. Pretty soon her laughter was carrying across the entire beach by the wind and when Izuku look up to see if she was okay he saw tears in her eyes. Finally, after a good half a minute of laughing, Momo calm down.
"You…. You are quite a unique person, Izuku Midoriya. Truly one of a kind", she says as she wipes away her tears.
"You have no idea", Dogal, Buraee, Licitum, Hunluan, and Nefer say as the other four alignment dragons appear behind Izuku.
Momo then returns his bow with her own, "I am Momo Yaoyorozu and it is a pleasure to meet you as well, Izuku Midoriya."
"Soooo, we good?", Izuku asks afterward.
"Yes, Midoriya, we are good as you say", Momo answers.
'Oh thank goodness!", Izuku says as he collapse on the sand and lies flat on his back, "For a moment there, I thought you were still mad!"
Momo finds herself laughing at this as well as she places the boy's notebook next to him, "Thank you, Midoriya, for returning my book to me."
"It was no trouble at all", Izuku says from his position on the ground.
"I wish you luck in the entrance exams", Momo says as she begins to walk away, "And whose knows? We might even be in the same class."
As he watches the heiress walk away, one last thing occurs to Izuku.
"Yaoyorozu!", he then calls out.
"Hm?", Momo says as she turns around to look at him.
"I forgot to mention", Izuku says as he got back up, "I asked Ryukyu if she would ever change her mind and give you your recommendation back."
"You did?", Momo says, her full interest now pique.
"Yes, and she said that if you were to change your ways and actually heed her advice she, at the very least, would consider it", Izuku says.
"She did?", Momo says.
"I swear on my family's name she said that", Izuku states, repeating the words that Itsuka used earlier.
….
Once again Momo found herself looking out at the ocean, her mind deep in thought and in that very moment Izuku could not help but admire how beautiful she was as the sea breeze gently blew her hair.
"No! Bad Izuku! You don't have a chance! Bad! Stick to dragon stuff!", he berates himself.
"Midoriya", she says.
"Yes?", he answers as he snaps out of his mental struggles.
"If I were to help you in your training like you initially asked me too, would you put in a good word in for me with Ryukyu? Help me get my recommendation back despite how I have treated you?", Momo asks.
"Of course, I would", Izuku answers honestly.
"Even on the off-chance that you would have to take the standard entrance exam instead of getting in through recommendation?", Momo then questions.
"That was my plan from the get-go", Izuku shrugs.
"Then I guess we better get started then", Momo says, "With your training that is."
"So you'll help me?", Izuku asks.
"If it means I have a better chance of getting my recommendation back, then yes I will. Though I want to include my training in as well just in case", Momo says.
"Of course, you can!", Izuku screams as he brings his hands together in a prayer stance, "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
Momo smiles at his gratitude but then realizes something.
"By the way, Midoriya", Momo said while looking over at the trash dump, "Where are the others that were with you the other day?"
Izuku's expression quickly morphs into one of pure shock and terror, "Oh crap! I left Vlad King all alone to deal with that situation."
He then takes off back to where he left the others, leaving a baffle Momo in his wake.
When he arrives back at the clearing between the trash heaps he was relieved to see that for the most part the Pro Hero was able to settle matters and both Himiko and Itsuka were no longer at each other throats with the marital artist on one side of the clearing with Melissa and Mei while Himiko was with Vlad King on the other though both girls were still glaring at each other.
'Did something happen?", Izuku hears behind him and turns to see Momo standing right there.
"She's fast", he thought before talking, "I don't think that Kendou and Toga get along."
Momo turns her attention to where Himiko was standing, arms cross as Vlad King gave her a dressing down, "It cannot be help given the girl's reputation."
"Of course, she would know about what Himiko did. All of Japan does", Izuku thought while wondering if her presence here would be a problem.
"I mean taking down multiple police officers and highly-trained sidekicks at the age of fourteen and armed with only a single knife is quite the impressive feat no matter what side of the law you stand on", Momo then says.
"Wait what?", Izuku says, wondering he heard the girl right. But before he could question Momo, Dogal's words from earlier began to play in his head.
"Being neutral is about making sound, unbiased judgment and having opinions that match that same belief. You are not sway by good, evil, lawful, or chaotic notions for all that matters to is the truth and the proof to back it up."
The reason said words were playing in his head was because Dogal was currently saying them directly into his ear.
"You can stop now", Izuku says.
"Just wanted to make sure you remembered", Dogal chuckles.
Izuku mentally sighs and redirects his attention back to Momo for a moment.
"You're impressive by what Toga did?", he asks.
"While yes she did injure a large number of law enforcement personnel and I feel that maybe she should have gotten a light bit tougher punishment one cannot deny that she is a highly talented combatant especially since she seems to run on pure instinct instead of any actual training", Momo explain, "The fact that it took a Pro Hero like Vlad King to finally capture her speaks volumes."
"Wow, I never thought of it like that", Izuku says after giving what she said some thought.
"Hey kid", he then hears his name and looks over to see Vlad King calling him over before he also calls Itsuka, Melissa, and Mei over as well.
"Wonder what he wants", the boy says aloud as he goes over to him with Momo in tow.
Soon enough Izuku found himself standing in front of the Pro Hero along with Melissa, Mei, Itsuka, Momo, and Himiko, though the last girl was standing awfully close to him, so much that he was practically inhaling her scent.
"Okay everyone, I have come to a decision and I want everyone to hear it", the pro hero/teacher says before looking directly at Izuku.
"You want to be able to practice your quirk in preparation for your training with Ryukyu, correct?", he asks.
Izuku found himself scratching his cheek as he answers, "That would be nice."
Vlad King nods at this, "And I need a place where Toga can be outside without causing an issue because I can't leave her stuck in the house all day. That's not healthy for her condition."
"A prison cell in Tartarus would be perfect for her", Itsuka grumbles causing Himiko to glare at her but the martial artist returns it with equal venom.
"So, I have come up with a compromise that should be able to fix both of these problems", Vlad King says before looking back at Izuku, "From here on out until you start your training with Ryukyu, Toga and I will come to this beach every day after I get done at the school and in the morning on Sundays. I will vouch for you to use your quirk while Toga can get out of the house and get some fresh air. But let me point out though none of you have to interact with her."
"Really?", Izuku says, not able to believe his luck.
Vlad King nods, "But let me be clear; you can only transform when I'm here at the beach and only with my permission. Before I get here, you can't be transforming or anything. But also know I want everyone here to be onboard with this; it's all or nothing. If one person doesn't feel right with us being here, then we'll leave and won't come back."
Izuku instantly turns to look at the other girls, excluding Himiko, to see their reactions.
"I honestly don't see any problem with this as long as you're here to supervise", Melissa says.
"I don't really care as long as I get to test my babies", Mei says with a shrug though her use of words earns her a look from Vlad King, Himiko, and Momo.
"She means her inventions", Melissa explain, "She calls them her babies."
It did not do much to make the stares go away.
Anyway, Izuku looks over at Momo who look surprise by this notion.
"Oh, I did not know I had a say in this for I just got here", she admits.
"Oh yeah, that's right", Izuku says as he snaps his fingers, "Everyone, Yaoyorozu will be helping us with my training from this day forth."
"Helping?", Itsuka asks, "How so?"
"Well, Midoriya has ask me to manage his training here in order for him to get the most out of it", Momo answer.
"Or he did?", Itsuka says and Izuku could hear the displeasure in her voice despite her attempt to hide it.
"Crapbaskets, I didn't even think about how Kendou would take this!", he thought before turning to Vlad King, "Can I have a moment please?"
The Pro Hero raises an eyebrow but merely shrugs, "Go ahead."
"Kendou, can I talk with you alone for a moment?", Izuku asks as he leads her away from the others.
The others watch them leave for a moment before Momo turn her attention to Vlad King.
"I personally have no problem with you two being here though I want your assurance that Toga won't try anything that would cause me to have to defend myself", she says.
"I'll keep a close eye on her", the man says before looking over at Himiko, "And she'll behave if she wants to keep coming here."
"Yeah, yeah, I'll be good", Himiko grumbles, "Just fucking great! I finally get one step closer to Izu-kun, he has a super-hot new dragon form, and now another girl gets added into the mix! I swear its two steps forward and three steps back!"
Meanwhile, once Izuku and Itsuka were far enough away from the others, the boy immediately started to apologies.
"I am deeply sorry, Kendou!", he says as he bows low, "I should have talk with you before making such a decision!"
"I'm not mad, I just wish that we would had talk first", Itsuka asks, the hurt tone now more evident, "Do you feel that my training isn't helping you?"
"The exact opposite! Your training is helping me a lot, I mean it! You're motivating me far better than what I would have done on my own and you have been a great help!", Izuku says truthfully, "But I just feel that there is no rhythm or set course to it and everything we do just seems random; like you just went with the first thing that pops into your head."
"Well, you're not wrong there", Itsuka admits, "To be honest, this is the first time I have ever try training someone without someone else from the dojo supervising me. We have a training plan back at the dojo but since we're not there I wanted to try a different method."
"And I truly appreciate what you have done so far, but I feel we have to find a balance between cleaning and training because I really want to help you finish all of this before I have to train with Ryukyu and I believe that if we keep things the way they are now that won't happen", Izuku admits.
Itsuka lets out a chuckle at this, "That's actually nice of you."
"I'm a pretty nice guy, I guess", Izuku laughs.
"That you are", Itsuka says before blowing a strand of hair out of face, "Alright fine, Yaoyorozu can run things…. for now, and I'll play along."
"Thank you, Kendou!", Izuku says as he bows in gratitude before realizing that one more thing still needed to be address, "Um...so about Vlad King and Toga."
Itsuka takes a deep breath and calms herself down, "I realize that you need training with your transformations and I realize that you're only going to get that through that…. man coming here along with that bitch."
Izuku founds himself wincing at the label Itsuka gave Himiko but kept quiet.
"And as much as I want to punch that girl in face and scream at that failure of a hero, I realize that would only hurt you", Itsuka kept going while crossing her arms, "But since you took my feelings into consideration and want to keep helping me clean the beach, I have decided that I will take yours into consideration and allow those two to come here every day, no matter how much I hate it."
"You mean it?", Izuku asks.
"I do", Itsuka grumbles.
"Are you sure? Because if you don't want to we can-", Izuku starts.
"I said I'm fine with it! Now stop badgering me before I change my mind!", Itsuka snaps.
"Okay, okay", Izuku says as he jumps back, "Just wanted to make sure."
"Come on", Itsuka says, "Let's go and tell the others."
After Itsuka, begrudgingly, tells Vlad King that she would at least tolerate their presence, much to Himiko's enjoyment, her, Izuku, Melissa, Mei, and Momo started brainstorming over what would be the set schedule starting Monday. Momo took details and notes from everyone about what they could contribute and what they wanted to get out when they came to the beach and how it could help Izuku improve while also helping the girls as well; which she jotted down in a notebook she created.
She then watches as Itsuka and Izuku went through their training regimen and beach clean-up, though the latter did surprise her but then she rationalizes that this did help improve upper and lower body strength for the two of them as well as get rid of the need for her parents to pay for a clean-up crew once they actually purchase this beach. With all this in mind she began to work on the rough draft of a schedule that would allow Izuku, along with Itsuka and herself, to get the most training possible in a single day while still allowing time for clean-up and for her to work with her parents' assistants to get the beach ready for purchase via phone.
Meanwhile Vlad King and Himiko were doing their own thing as the Pro Hero was grading some schoolwork and the girl would watch Izuku closely and even flirt with him but when she started to become a distraction, Itsuka would send her a glare which was return but eventually the man stepped in to rein in the blonde.
Currently the two of them were sitting down at the makeshift table with Vlad King still doing some grading while Himiko was still watching.
"I mean what I said, Toga", the man said to the girl while he was reading a paper, "No funny business."
"I said I won't, okay? Do you want me to sign an agreement or something?", Himiko replies back.
"Hound Dog says that you need to interact more with people your own ages who you don't have to hide your true self from anymore", Vlad King says, remembering what his fellow U.A. colleague told him as he left the Blood Hero's house yesterday, "It would behoove you not to mess up this chance."
"Trust me, I'm not going to blow a chance like this", Himiko says as predatory her eyes lock in on Izuku, "I wouldn't dream of it."
At the Ryukyu's Agency downtown, Ryuko was in the main conference room along with Yui, Ayano, and Takako watching the drone surveillance of the beach.
"Aw, isn't that nice?", Ayano says with a full smile, "The boy is doing his own training, he is getting along well with Yaoyorozu and Melissa, and look, he made some more friends along the way. Aw, the joys of youth. Am I forgetting anything?", she then says as she dons a thoughtful expression before snapping her fingers, "Oh, that's right."
She then slams her both her fists on the table, shaking the entire thing, "HE CAN TURN INTO THE FUCKING BLACK DRAGON NOW AND I STILL CAN'T STUDY HIM IN PERSON FOR MONTHS! COULD SOMEONE PLEASE ONCE AGAIN EXPLAIN TO ME WHY THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA?!"
"We are well aware of what he can do, Ayano. We were watching the same thing you were and we saw the Causticus Sputem form he took on", Yui says while looking at Takako who had a smug expression on her face.
"This is exactly why I postpone his training until the agency was ready", Ryuko then says, drawing everyone's attention, "Though I wasn't expecting Midoriya to so easily break his promise to not transform."
"He just said that he would not. He never exactly promised though, and those are two separate things", Takako says, "Loopholes, tricky little bastards, am I right?"
"You're enjoying this, aren't you?", Ryuko asks.
"You have no idea", the lawyer replies, "Now I can gloat like Hiroko and Tomoji."
"Bet you the green dragon is going to be last", Ayano grumbles.
"Nah, it will be the silver dragon knowing my luck", Yui states.
"Regardless of the order in which Midoriya awakens his dragons, the fact remains that he is transforming in a public place without proper supervision and we're lucky that Sekijiro is willing to look the other way this time", Ryuko states.
"But as we just heard him say that he will supervise Midoriya in the evening and Sundays so he can legally transform on the beach. This could be what the boy needs to get better control before he starts his training here", Ayano points out, "Plus the fact that he seems to be able to resist the suppression of his personality right off the bat is remarkable. Going off the footage of his scuffle with the rock villain, he seems to be able to switch to it at will. It is possible he might actually be merging with it, becoming a whole new entity altogether."
"That does beckon more attention", Ryuko says, "But I'm worried that if something goes wrong and he loses control, Sekijiro won't be able to stop him."
"You could go and supervise his training at the beach while we work here then", Yui recommends.
"True, and it would be easy to come up with a reason as to why I'm over there without raising suspicious, especially since Melissa constantly mentions that she goes there every day and since she is my guest it's well within my rights to keep an eye on her", Ryuko says, "It's the fact that I have to deal with Yaoyorozu which will be the difficult part."
"I am sure you will be able to bear it. And while we're on the subject, did you mean what you said to Midoriya? About reconsidering giving Yaoyorozu back her recommendation?", Yui states
"Believe or not, I always planned on doing so. I just wanted her to know that I meant business and was going to let her wallow in misery for about three months before I gave it back to her. Unfortunately, Midoriya's awakening came in like a wrecking ball and I was force to put it on the backburner.", Ryuko admits, "Although she did take her frustration out on him and was on the verge of attacking him before stopping so now I'm reconsidering even that."
"But the two of them did just resolve their dispute" Ayano says.
"True, they did. Also, Midoriya does have a point; Yaoyorozu does has superb management skills along with a keen mind from what I've seen and would be a great help for him in his improvise training. So for now I'll leave them be for a time before I go over there. If I see some improvement in both Midoriya and Yaoyorozu, then when the time comes, I will officially give her back the recommendation along with using my other one for Midoriya", Ryuko says before glancing at the clock, "I got a patrol with Rumi in ten minutes. Keep monitoring him until he gets home and then recall the drone and not a minute later. I also want it covering the beach before sunrise tomorrow."
Ryuko then gets up and walks to the door, "Update me if anything else happens. Also send footage of Midoriya transforming into the black dragon to the committee."
"I'm sure they'll love that", Ayano says.
"Might even give us another boost in resource", Yui states.
"Let's hope so", Ryuko says.
"You have been spending a lot of time with bunny girl lately. This is your fifth joint patrol with her since she came to Musutafu", Takako says while still watching the video.
This stops the Dragoon Hero just as she was reaching for the door.
"Is that a problem?", she then asks though she does not turn around.
"No problem, just an observation", Takako says.
"I still have duties to perform", Ryuko states.
"Duties that you can do without bunny girl always tagging along", Takako says and both Ayano and Yui could feel a slight bit of tension in the air and this put them on edge.
"I was initially against her using the agency while you advocate for it if I recall correctly", Ryuko reminds her friend.
"I only did so we could use her status to help keep the HPSC off our backs", Takako says while still not facing the Pro Hero, "I do not recall supporting you going on constant patrols with her."
….
…..
"You never did like Rumi if I remember correctly, even when she and I were sidekicks together. You especially hated it whenever she came by when we were headquarters in Tokyo and some days I can't help but wonder why", Ryuko says after a moment before exiting the room leaving Yui and Ayano alone with a peeve Takako.
A few minutes later, Ryuko found herself walking down the sidewalk next to Rumi the two of them having playful banter while also keeping an eye out for any crimes.
"Shouldn't you be flying right now to patrol?", the Rabbit Hero asks.
"Shouldn't you be hopping around with a carrot in your mouth?", came the response from Ryuko.
"That's rabbitist and you know it", Rumi replies.
"That a new word you just made up?"
"No, I used it two times before this moment", Rumi says.
"But let's remember that carrots are your favorite food", Ryuko says.
"Okay, I'll give you that one" Rumi says before going silence, something that catches the Okinawan's attention.
"Something on your mind?", Ryuko asks.
….
"I'm thinking about going after Stain", Rumi answers.
Ryuko finds herself coming to a complete stop and stares wide-eyed at her friend, "You what?!"
"Not here", Rumi says as she gestures to the area around them where a number of people were watching them and who could blame them? The top two heroines in Japan doing a patrol together was definitely something to taking about in ones' social circle.
Ryuko looks around and spots a small park nearby with a couple of benches in it.
"Nah, would still draw attention", she thought before deciding to look upward and seeing a tall building nearby, at least twenty stories high.
Quickly glancing around to make sure no one was too close, she began to grow her wings out before extending a hand to Rumi.
"Grab on, unless you can scale a twenty-story building with those legs of yours", she says.
Rumi looks at the building that the Dragoon Hero was focus on and shakes her head before grabbing her forearm, "You're so over-dramatic, Ryu."
"Heh", Ryuko says before taking off into the air with Rumi in tow with a mighty flap of her wings. Seconds later she was at the roof of the building, landing with ease with her friend.
"Alright, start talking because this is one hell of a bombshell to drop without any prior warning whatsoever", Ryuko says as she reverts her wings, "You're the highest-rank heroine in Japan and a top-ten ranked Pro Hero at twenty-six, your reputation is pretty most solidified. Why would you risk your career for something like this? Why draw the HPSC's irk?"
Rumi leans on the ledge and looks out toward downtown Musutafu as a breeze came through and blew her hair out.
"It's just….it has gotten tediosa for me", she says after a moment.
"Boring?", Ryuko says, remembering what the Portuguese word meant due to having so many conversations in the past with the fellow heroine, "What do you mean by boring?"
"There's no challenges anymore, no more thrill", Rumi says before turning around and crossing her arms, "It feel that I'm babysitting more than anything nowadays. You know, lowering the crime rate to make everything nice and safe for the rookies so they can be Pro Heroes without actually being Pro Heroes and while get constantly pester to appear on a billboard or a commercial to sell crappy products that no one really needs."
"It's not always a walk in the park and my fashion line is awesome, thank you very much", Ryuko counters.
"You're not wrong about either of those but the days of All for One are long gone and no villain today gives me the thrill of not knowing whether or not I'll live to see tomorrow", Rumi says, "Except for maybe the Hero Killer."
Ryuko holds up a hand, "We all have direct orders from the HPSC Madam President and the Prime Minister of Japan himself via Secret Directive Fourteen to not intervene unless he appears in the city we're headquarters in and even then, we were told to thread carefully and call for back-up before attempting anything. HPSC Secret Directive Fifteen then states that no Pro Hero ranked in the top twenty-five is to directly pursue Hero Killer: Stain unless under extreme circumstances."
"Killing seventeen fellow heroes along with permanently crippling twenty-two sounds like extreme circumstances to me", Rumi points out.
"You're not wrong there but the big-wigs don't want the off chance that Stain actually manages to bring a top-ranked hero down to happen and they're left to deal with the aftermath and the backlash from the public. The crime rate would skyrocket if he brought down a high-rank hero; with villains across Japan would no doubt be emboldening by such an event", Ryuko says, "But I'm pretty sure you have realized the second reasoning behind their decision."
"I'm not as dumb as some people make me out to be. It's the same reason why they don't send All Might or Mr. Eternal Number Two to deal with every problem in Japan", Rumi replies back.
"Because then the people start to wonder what is the point of having thousands of Pro Heroes and sidekicks use their tax dollars for a paycheck if only a handful are going to deal with every major issue that comes up like Stain", Ryuko finishes, "Plus, it's not like they can send every Pro Hero in Japan after him for that would be overkill and leave too many openings in other cities that the police couldn't fill."
"This delicate balance shit sucks ass", Rumi grumbles.
"That it does", Ryuko agrees.
"But I have a plan to get around HPSC little rule regarding Stain", Rumi says after a moment.
"You're not going try to get demoted to rank twenty-six or lower, are you?", Ryuko says knowing full well that such a thing was not outside Rumi's realm of what she considers to be a good idea.
"Nah, nothing that drastic…. yet. I'm going to volunteer at U.A. from time to time, maybe even as a substitute teacher for the Hero's course", Rumi answers.
"Principal Nezu will instantly deny you and you wouldn't even get pass the front gate", Ryuko counters.
"He can't deny the number seven Pro Hero, along with being the top-ranked heroine, a chance to train the future heroes of tomorrow without it causing a scandal and U.A. already has it fair share of those to deal with", Rumi points out.
"Let's pretend he does allow you to teach. How is that supposed to help you go after Stain?", Ryuko asks.
"Me being there will actually give the school some much needed positive P.R. which the HPSC would no doubt like. I will use that as my ace in the hole so when I go after Stain without their permission I can use it to keep from getting in trouble", Rumi answers.
Ryuko shakes her head in annoyance, "There is a lot of holes in this plan but let's just say that whole crazy idea of yours works and you are able to actually find Stain, which is already a difficult task since he never stays too long in a single city, and take him down. Then what are you going to do if he is the last villain around who you think can give you a proper fight?"
….
…..
"Rumi?", Ryuko asks after an unnatural moment of silence from the Rabbit Hero.
"I honestly have no idea after that, I really didn't think that far ahead", Rumi says.
"Tell me something, do you not foresee yourself winning a battle with Stain?", Ryuko asks after a moment.
"I say I got a fifty-fifty chance", Rumi says.
"Of beating him or surviving?", Ryuko questions. ….
…..
"What brought this all about anyway? Last time we went out drinking you were hollering about how you were going to keep kicking criminal ass until you were old enough to be a grandma", Ryuko then asks after another moment of silence.
"Things changed and it started to dawn on me that perhaps I should be preparing to leave a legacy behind. Because let's face it, Ryu, you and I will never get into the top three no matter how hard we try and it's not even because we're women", Rumi admits.
"It's because we're not full-blooded Japanese", Ryuko says since she came to this conclusion some time ago.
"Exactly. They'll let us in the Top Ten but keep us in the bottom half of it to make themselves look good and show signs of progressive or some shit", Rumi says, "Some days I think about just saying screw it and go to my grandmother's homeland of Brazil to start busting heads there. Maybe even give America a try."
"You never know, Rumi", Ryuko says as she walks up to her friend, "Maybe one day we'll actually do something that Japanese society and the big-wigs upstairs can't ignore."
"You're already doing that with training that boy, Ryu, to become your sidekick", Rumi says.
"I'm not training him to be my sidekick", Ryuko retorts.
"Replacement then? You plan on calling it quits here soon?", Rumi says.
"Absolutely not", came the answer from the Dragoon Hero.
"Then why are you training him?", Rumi asks, only to receive a bout of silence in return.
….
"I have my reasons", was the only answer Ryuko gave her.
"Okay, I'll stopping asking questions. You do you. Not gonna lie though, if that boy became a villain, a fight against him would be a fight for the ages", Rumi laughs.
"I'm trying to steer him away from that path, thank you very much", Ryuko says.
"Well just remember to steer him toward me so I can have a go at him, will ya? A fight between me and him would be one Japan would never forget", Rumi says.
Midoriya's Residence
"So how did things go at the beach dear?", Inko asks her son who just got back from the beach about forty-five minutes ago and the two of them were now sitting down for dinner.
"It went great!", Izuku says, "The Pro Hero Vlad King volunteer to supervise me so I could use my quirk as long as I keep control and Toga was with him and she was pretty nice today. Plus, Yaoyorozu agree to help manage my training schedule and she is a real genius when it comes to stuff like that!"
"I thought you told Ryukyu that you wouldn't transform until you started training with her", Inko recalls.
"I did, but I feel like that will hurt me with having to wait five months to transform, so Vlad King, who is also a teacher at U.A., volunteered to come by after school and watch me", Izuku explains.
"And you're sure that you can keep control? You heard what Ryukyu said about no second chances if you lose control again", Inko says.
"As long as I don't merge my mind with the dragon, I should be fine", Izuku before going on to explain what he meant by that.
"Well, as long as you're careful then", Inko eventually says though she still was not one hundred percent okay with him doing this but if a Pro Hero was keeping an eye on him, then he should be fine.
But on to other matters.
"Izuku", Inko says.
"Yes mom?", he says.
"You address Toga and Yaoyorozu as "she". Are these two girls around your age as well?", Inko smiles.
….
"Aw crapbaskets", Izuku thought, realizing once again that he slipped up, "They are. Yaoyorozu is going for U.A. as well though I don't know about Toga."
"My little Izuku has become quite the ladies' man in such a short time.", Inko giggles.
"It's not like that at all, mom!", Izuku says.
"Could have fool me. You ought of invite one of them over here soon so I can thank them properly for taking care of you", Inko says before clapping her hands, "Or maybe invite all five of them? That would be something, wouldn't it?"
"Moooooooommmmmm!", Izuku whines.
Later on, Izuku found himself laying down in his bed staring up at the ceiling while thinking about everything that happen today.
Suddenly, Dogal's face appears in his line of sight.
"There is an issue that you need to resolve in the Hall of Essence", the neutral dragon says.
"What type of issue?", Izuku asks, wondering what he could possibly be going on that require his attention in that place.
"You will see when we get there", Dogal says before a light envelops Izuku.
Hall of Essence
The first thing Izuku notice when he opens his eyes back up was that instead of two platforms like last time there were three. He then notices that the ones that held the white and copper dragons last time were empty but the third one held the black dragon.
He also quickly realizes that that particular dragon was in a foul mood if the way it was pacing back and forth and snorting quite loudly while growling was any indication.
"What's wrong with…." Izuku asks Dogal.
"~She~ is quite irritated right now", Dogal answers.
"Why?", Izuku questions, though a bit surprise that the black dragon was female.
"Somehow, through some unknown mean, she has discovered that the white and copper dragons have received names from you", Dogal says.
"You mean Ugilanistorda and Cheynchaytion? Why would she be mad about that?", Izuku wonders.
The black dragon suddenly starts to spew out something in draconic, her voice wrack with rage and fury while doing so.
This startle Izuku and cause him to take a few steps back but he quickly re-composes himself.
"What did she say?", Izuku asks Dogal.
"She said "to receive a name as well as a title would bring great prestige to one like herself. She will not stand by quietly while weaker dragons get that honor that she rightly deserves", Dogal said before taking his right claw and drawing a circle in the ground, "Circle of Language: Draconic!"
The outline of the circle begins to light up with a purple glow and the interior of it begins to fill with runes and weird symbols for a moment before returning to normal.
"Please step inside", Dogal says to Izuku.
"Is something bad going to happen to me?", Izuku asks.
"If you do not wish to know what she is saying then do not step in it, but be warn that my patience of being a translator for you is starting to wear thin", Dogal merely says and Izuku practically teleport into the circle without a second thought.
"So…. you said that you wanted a name?", Izuku asks the black dragon.
"Yes, you feeble human! Bestow a name upon me so that I might stand above the inferior white dragon and the weak copper dragon!", the black dragon boons back, her voice full of malice, but Izuku understood her perfectly.
"Can't you name yourself?", Izuku asks, grateful that a barrier was currently separating him from the beast.
"You are the Creator! Only a name from you will be worthy enough for me!", the black dragon roars back.
"Creator?", Izuku says, "I guess she talking about the Dragonscape and how my draconic aura created it."
"As the Creator, it is your duty to bestow a name and title upon me!", the black dragon says.
"If having a name and title is so important then perhaps you should try asking a bit nicer then", Izuku retorts, a bit irk at the lack of manners from the dragon despite the fact that she needs something from him.
The black dragon was taken aback by this…. request and for a moment she was speechless.
Then she narrows her eyes and bare her teeth.
"You expect one such as I to grovel before you?!", she growls.
"I expect you to have some manners", Izuku fires back.
"You…you dare?!", the black dragon spat.
"How about this then? You can stand there, with no name, and every other dragon that comes here will get a name from me while you get to watch", Izuku says, "How does that sound?"
"The white and copper dragon did not have to beg to get their names!"
"They also didn't try to kill me!", Izuku points out, though he was pretty sure the white dragon probably would have had they met under different circumstances, "Also, how did she know that?"
The black dragon and Izuku then find themselves in a staring contest with the boy holding his ground against the creature large enough to block out the sun if she flew over Musutafu.
Eventually, the black dragon begrudgingly lowers her head to Izuku, a motion that shock him as well as Dogal if the raised eyebrow from the neutral dragon was any indication.
"This one humbly asks that you bestow upon her a name and title, oh mighty creator", she says.
Izuku looks up at Dogal.
"I fully believe you should give her a name. It is not every day that a black dragon asks nicely for anything. I am still trying to get over the fact that she asks for something at all.", he states.
Izuku simply nods and closes his eyes, searching in his mind for the perfect name.
And he found it.
"I shall name you", Izuku says with all the flair of a royal ruler, Bluutsvilvarrt, Tyrant Queen of the Death Swamps."
"Do you accept this name?", Dogal then asks.
"I do and I am most grateful for it", Bluutsvilvarrt say with a grumble.
"Then return!" Dogal says and the black dragon fades away.
"Holy crapbaskets!", Izuku says as he places his hand on his heart and drops to the ground, "That was intense!"
"You showed great courage there in standing your ground against a black dragon", Dogal states.
"Only because there was a barrier between us", Izuku points out.
"Dragons do not always require the ability to do physical harm in order to make someone afraid of them", Dogal says, "You showed resolve and it paid off in the end. You made a black dragon have to ask you for something, no small feat whatsoever so give yourself more credit, Midoriya, for you have come quite a long way in terms of bravery."
"Well, if you think so", Izuku says.
Dogal smiles at this, almost chuckling, "You need only look at the company you have been keeping lately to know it is true."
"Huh?", Izuku replies.
"You shall come to know what I mean soon enough. Come now, let us return for our business here is concluded.", Dogal says.
"Hey Dogal?", Izuku then asks,
"Yes?"
"Before we go, what would be yours and the others opinion on Bluutsvilvarrt?", the boy asks while pointing at the dragon.
"Nefer would tell you, in no uncertain terms, that such a foul creature like her has no right to breathe. Licitum would say that the day the last black dragon in existence dies is a day of great celebration. Hunluan would say that she represents chaotic nature at its finest; she causes pain and torment simply because she can. Buraee would declare that anyone getting torture by a black dragon probably deserve it and they should be happy that she allowed them extra time to live even if it is while they are in great pain", Dogal explain.
"And you?", Izuku questions.
"As a black dragon, she is the master of ambushes and hit-and-run tactics, so much that it is hard to tell if she is retreating or merely moving to attack from another direction. Within the confines of a swamps, she has no equal in combat. Her ability to extract useful information is second to none and she strikes fear into the hearts of even the bravest souls. The last thing, those foolish enough to challenge her in her own territory, will see will always be blackness."
"Alright, I heard enough", Izuku says as he got up, "Let's go back."
The next morning Izuku woke up and cook himself a decent breakfast before making his way to the beach park. There he found Melissa, Mei, Itsuka, and Momo waiting for him with the heiress now dress in her own tracksuit as well, and a stylish one at that with zippers all over it. Because it was the start of Golden Week and there was no school, Vlad King and Toga would be coming along a little bit later but for now it was just the five of them.
The first thing Momo did was collect everyone's contact information and create a group chat. She stated that she would use this to give everyone a heads-up on what would be going on the following day as well as recapping the previous day's events. She also wanted to use it as a place where people could throw out new ideas and suggestions.
She then read off the schedule she made last night and how it would allow Izuku, Itsuka, and herself ample amount of time to getting training in as well as clean-up the beach.
"You're going to help clean-up?", Itsuka asks.
"It seems to be a good way to build up upper and lower body strength. Plus, it makes this place a bit nicer and means less money my family will have to spend to clean it up", Momo answers before turning to Melissa and Mei, "I have been looking at that training arena you two have been working on and I have some suggest if you are willing to listen."
While those three began to talk, Izuku and Itsuka were having a conversation of their own.
"She can do it all, can't she?", Itsuka says while looking at Momo.
"She really is something", Izuku answers.
"How were you able to convince her anyway? You guys said some pretty nasty stuff to each other", Itsuka then asks.
"We did but we came to the realizations that we both were out of line and decided to simply move on", Izuku says.
"My my, aren't you two mature", Itsuka laughs.
"I think I'll get there someday", Izuku chuckles back.
"By the way, Midoriya, I think we should kick it up a notch and actually start sparring here soon", Itsuka states.
"Already?"
"You're going to be training with Ryukyu, a world-renowned martial artist who has the highest belts in multiple marital arts from across Southeast Asia", Itsuka explain, "If she doesn't have to waste time teaching you the basic, you'll be able to learn more from her before the entrance exams."
"I guess that makes sense", Izuku says.
"I'll already talked to Yaoyorozu about it", Itsuka says before going quiet. She looks like she wanted to say something but it seems to make her uncomfortable.
"What is it, Kendou?", Izuku asks, "You feeling alright?"
The girl lets out a breath before talking, "Once we were done yesterday and you were chatting with Melissa and Mei as they waited for their ride, Yaoyorozu approach me and we had a talk."
"Really, about what?", Izuku wonders while remembering that he did see the two girls talking amongst themselves but at the time thought nothing of it.
"She feels that my way of hand-to-hand combat, while good enough to help you get started, would not help you in the long run", Itsuka states, "And once she explain it to me why, I realize that she was right."
"How so?", Izuku questions.
"My way of combat is style around one-on-one fights, but unfortunately I have only ever fought people in the dojo and tournaments where there are safely regulations and rules, therefore I lack the experience to teach you how to fight off someone for real, as if your life or others depends on it", Itsuka says and Izuku spots her fists clenching and shaking.
"What are you trying to tell me, Kendou?", Izuku could not help but wonder.
"What I'm saying is that only two people here who have experiences in actual fighting. Two people that Yaoyorozu instantly pointed out to me", Itsuka says.
"Who are you-", Izuku began to asks before hearing a voice carry through the wind.
"IZU-KUN!"
He then turns to see Himiko practically skipping down the stairs at high speed while dress in a red track suit before hitting the sand and sprinting right at him. She damn near tackles him with a hug and forces him to struggle to keep from falling.
"I'm so happy to see you again, Izu-kun! Did you miss me?", Himiko says, her golden eyes shining, before looking over at Itsuka, "Judging by that face you're giving me, I guess rich girl told you the news."
Itsuka merely narrows her eyes back at the girl. "What is going on? What news?", Izuku says aloud.
"I have taking the liberty of procuring Vlad King's expertise in aiding us in the realm of being in a actual fight", Momo states as she, Melissa, Mei, and Vlad King walk up, "Mr. Kan has been kind enough to supervise us and provide critique."
"Though I can't actually fight any of you since none of you are students yet", the Blood Hero says.
"Can you guess what I get to do, Izu-kun? Guess! Come on, guess!", Himiko says, "Too late! I'll tell you! I get to be your sparring partner!"
"What?", is all Izuku finds himself able to say much else as the girl was still clinging to him.
"After Vlad King, she has the most experience in fighting trained opponents", Momo points out, "Granted she will be "sparring" with you, Itsuka, and myself without any real knives or other sharp objects."
"Plus, her therapist said the exercise would be good for her", Vlad King throws in.
"I can't believe I agree to this", Itsuka says before looking at Himiko, "Are you ever going to let go of him? It looks like you're trying to crush him to death!"
Himiko spares a look at her guardian who merely nods his head. The girl then stops hugging Izuku but that did not mean she was fully done with him.
"That means that you and I are going to get real ~close~ for the next five months. Isn't that great, Izu-kun?", she says as she leans into him, "So up close and personal."
Before Izuku could say anything, Itsuka steps into view next to Himiko, "Don't be getting any ideas because I'll be keeping an eye on you."
"Sure, whatever party-pooper", Himiko grumbles.
"What was that?!", Itsuka retorts.
"I said what I said", Himiko replies and an argument began between her and the marital artist.
"Hey, let's everyone calm down please", Melissa says as she tries to defuse the situation, coming up right next to Itsuka.
"Hey Midoriya, you think I'll be able to test my babies on you today? Because I got some idea I want to try and I feel that your….", Mei starts to say as she walks up right next to Himiko, tinkering with some sort of gadget.
"Midoriya, I would like to know a few more details about your quirk that way I can make possible adjustments to the training plan as well as see if I can replicate the material your scales are made out of since they seem to….", Momo then says while coming almost directly between Itsuka and Himiko but still right in front of Izuku.
It was in that moment, when all five of the young ladies that he has become acquitted with recently were standing directly in front of him in a line, that Izuku's eyes start to widen as he realizes what exactly the neutral dragon meant last night.
About how he was far braver than he gave himself credit for and how he has come a long way.
For now, it dawns on him that ever since that day at the hospital where he first met Himiko, he has been doing the one thing that he never thought he would be able to do in a million years despite his mom constantly pointing it out.
He briefly turns his attention to Vlad King who was off to the side, ignoring Melissa, Itsuka, Momo, Himiko, and Mei for the moment.
The Pro Hero just look right back at him and gives him a nod and a smile. He then quietly spoke the words….
"You're on your own there, kid", as he points to the girls.
Then he sees each of his alignment dragons appear behind the girls.
Nefer behind Melissa.
Licitum behind Itsuka.
Dogal behind Momo.
Buraee behind Himiko.
And finally, Hunluan behind Mei.
"Oh my gosh!", Izuku thought as the sudden realization came crashing down upon him, "I don't believe it! I think I manage to make friends! I've been talking to them and they've been talking to me back! I've been having full-on conversations with them!"
He then came to another realization.
"OH MY GOSH! They're all girls too! I've been talking to girls!"
A/N: Sorry, after rewatching the first season of MHA, the scene where Izuku and Ochako talk for the first time and his reaction afterward "I talked to a girl" had me laughing and I felt I had to somehow add it in that he realizes that he has been talking to five girls this whole time and he just had a delayed reaction to it.
Just to clarify Izuku didn't apologize to Momo and Momo didn't apologize to him. They both decided to put the whole thing behind them and move on.
So one of the things that has always bother me is why people like All Might allow Stain to operate like he did for so long until Izuku, Shoto, and Tenya came along.
I get that he moves from city to city but you figure are killing 17 Pro Heroes, the HPSC would have made him priority number one and divert all resources to finding him. So I decided to expand on that and have it where the HPSC has ordered the higher rank heroes to stay away from Stain just in case he manages to take one down and the public backlash from it would be immense as well as empowering other criminals to rise up.
