Seraphine looked at Drew and Pete while finishing her piece of toast. It was a lovely morning and she had suggested they ate breakfast outside. The two brothers were goofing around and having fun. It was like both of them had forgotten what had taken place yesterday when Drew went into a fit of rage.

"I need the bathroom," she said.

She stood up and Drew grabbed her wrist. She tried to hide her fear and just looked at him. He smirked at her and kissed her hand.

"Hurry back, darling," he said.
"I'll pee as quickly as I can," she said.

She walked inside the house and hurried up the stairs. She closed the door to the bathroom and moved over to the toilet. She lifted the lid of the toilet tank and looked at the phone she had hid there in a plastic bag. She knew Drew and Pete had looked for the phone yesterday while claiming they believed her but none of them thought to look there. She picked up the phone and called Seth.

"Hello?" He asked.
"Are you here?" She asked.
"We've been here since last night," he answered.
"They're outside having breakfast. How fast can you be at the gate?" She asked.
"We're close. We'll be there in two minutes," he said.
"I'll run out there now. I'll unlock it when I get there. They'll hear it open so you better fucking be there," she said.

The bathroom door opened and she stared in horror at Pete who apparently had snuck soundlessly up the stairs.

"I knew you were lying yesterday," Pete said.
"Fuck!" Seraphine muttered.
"Hand over the phone and take your punishment like a good girl," Pete said.
"Seraphine!" Seth yelled.
"Seth," Seraphine said.

Pete ran in and punched her in the stomach. The air was knocked out of her and she fell down on her knees. She dropped the phone and he kicked it aside. He leaned over her, wrapped his arm around her throat, and pulled her up against his chest.

"I'm gonna fuck you so hard that you'll cry for me to stop," he said. "I'm gonna rip open every hole in your body and make you bleed all over the floor. And after that, I'll make you lick it up in front of me while Drew is stretching your ass to its limit. You're gonna be in for so much pain that you'll regret ever being born."

She wheezed for air and tried scratching his arm. He didn't let go. She did the only thing she could do. She reached up behind her, grabbed his head, and pressed the thumbs into his eyes. He let out a scream of pain and let go of her. She crawled across the floor and grabbed the door frame for support.

"Seraphine!" He growled.

She looked over her shoulder and saw he was getting up. There was no time to waste. She needed to get out before he got his hands on her again. She fought through her own pain and jumped to her feet. She ran out of the bathroom, down the hallway, and down the stairs with him following right after. She ran out of the house and heard him sprint closer behind her.

"Drew!" He screamed. "She's making a run for it!"

She made it to the gate and quickly pressed in the code.

"Help!" She screamed.

The gate started opening but before she could run out of it, arms grabbed her around the waist, spun her around, and threw her across the ground. She landed in front of Drew's feet and looked up at the man she used to be happy to call her boyfriend. He stared at her with a look of anger and balled fists.

"She hid your phone in the bathroom," Pete said.
"I fucking knew it!" Drew growled.
"I'm sorry," Seraphine said.
"You'll be sorry soon enough," Drew said.

Drew grabbed Seraphine's hair but froze before he could yank her up from the ground. He stared in horror at something behind Pete. Pete spun around and stared at three men with baseball bats in their hands.

"Let her go!" Seth snarled.

Pete was the first one to run. He ran past Drew who followed suit right away. Seth, Roman and Dean sprinted after the two men and let the bats do the talking for them. Seraphine got up and watched everything go down in front of her. Drew and Pete took the beating of a lifetime by her brother and his two friends.

"Seth," she said.

No one heard her. They were all screaming and letting the bats rain down while Drew and Pete were crying in pain. Cries that slowly got lower and lower.

"Seth!" She raised her voice. "Stop!"

All three men looked over at her and saw her standing there with tears running down her face.

"He'll come for you again if we don't end it," Seth said.
"I don't wanna watch you murder someone," Seraphine said.
"We got this," Dean said.

Seth nodded at his friends and walked over to Seraphine. He wrapped his arms around her and looked up at the house.

"Let's go pack your things," he said.

She let him escort her inside and up to the bedroom. He helped her pack her things while they both ignored what was going on outside. Once her things were packed, he moved over to the window and looked outside.

"They're done," he said.
"Are they dead?" She asked.
"I think so," he sighed. "Look, it's Roman and Dean. I won't lie and pretend it's their first time punishing someone who deserves it. I've done it plenty of times too. You know what we do when people like you need help."
"Is it their first time killing someone?" She asked.
"I honestly don't know. I've never asked. I can only tell you that I've never killed anyone," he said.

She dried her eyes and nodded.

"How can someone be so good and still do such a bad thing?" She asked.
"Because they love you. You're their friend too," he said.
"I never wanted this," she said.
"It's not your fault. Drew's the one to blame," he said.
"I wanna go home," she said.
"Let's get you home then," he said.
"I need his phone first. If anyone finds it here, they'll figure out we're involved. I need to go home and pretend I never dated him. I did a lot of thinking these past two days and it finally makes sense why I never met anyone he knows. No one but Pete knew about me. They couldn't tell anyone in case someone would come out here and learn the truth. The only thing he didn't count on was how close we are. In the beginning he tried to push you out of the conversation when I brought you up but I stayed firm and forced him to meet you," she said.

He chuckled and pulled her in for a hug.

"You did good," he said. "Get the phone and turn it off. We'll get rid of it somewhere else. I'll carry your bags downstairs. We need Pete's phone too in case they've communicated about you via texts."
"It's in his back pocket," she said.
"I'll grab it," he said.

She went to the bathroom and picked up the phone while he walked downstairs. She joined him shortly after and were met by Roman and Dean who both pulled her into their arms for some much needed hugs. She handed Drew's phone to Seth who turned off both phones so that no one could track them.

"I won't tell a living soul what you did for me today," Seraphine said.
"We know," Roman smiled.
"What will you do with the bodies?" Seraphine asked.
"Leave them here to rot," Dean answered. "No one comes out here. There's not another house for miles. And do you have any idea how many birds we passed on the way? Hawks, crows, voltures, ravens. They'll deal with them in no time."
"Dean does love his animal planet," Roman chuckled.
"And if the birds don't finish the job, the sun and the insects will. Let's drag them out to the garden for an easier feast for the creepy crawlers," Dean said.

Roman grabbed Drew's arms and Dean grabbed Pete's arms. They dragged the corpses out in the garden while Seth and Seraphine followed. They left the corpses in the most open spot to make sure the sun would be on them most of the day.

"Let's get out of here," Roman said.
"I'm in the mood for a burger. This workout made me hungry," Dean said.
"Workout?" Seraphine asked.
"Just go with it, sunshine," Dean grinned. "We'll find somewhere with a drive thru."
"You bet," Seth said.

Dean put his arm around Seraphine's shoulders and started walking with her.

"Next time you get a boyfriend, run him through us first. We'll quickly figure out if he's worth keeping," Dean said.
"I think I'm done with dating," Seraphine said.
"For now maybe," Dean chuckled. "That will only last until I ask you out."
"No offence but I would be scared to date you after seeing what you just did. It's also weird since I grew up with you. You're like a cousin to me," Seraphine said.
"In some cultures cousins can..." Dean started.
"Don't fucking go there," Seth cut Dean off. "That's fucking disgusting."
"It is," Dean laughed. "Oh well, you can't blame a man for trying, sunshine."

Dean winked at Seraphine and removed his arm. He fell a step behind and walked next to Roman instead who chuckled at him.

"She's too good for you," Roman said.
"I know," Dean said.
"I can hear you," Seraphine said.
"You were supposed to," Roman said.
"Please, tell me you drove in separate cars," Seraphine said.
"Nope!" Seth held up his car keys. "I drove us all here."

Roman and Dean laughed and Seraphine rolled her eyes. They walked through the gate and she pressed in the code to make the gate close again.

"No one can enter with Drew's code now. Only Pete's code works and he's a loner. He only has Drew. No one in the world knows his code, and no one fucking misses a sadistic asshole like him," Seraphine said.
"All their family and friends are across the ocean," Seth said. "If they ever get reported as missing, no one is coming here to search for them. I always had a bad feeling about Drew. I just couldn't put my finger on it."

Seraphine grabbed Seth's arm and leaned in.

"Thank you for coming for me," Seraphine said.
"Always," Seth said. "Everything is peachy."

She chuckled and let go of his arm. She looked back at Roman and Dean with a smile on her face.

"Thank you too," Seraphine said.
"Anytime, sunshine," Dean said.
"I'm just happy we got you out of there before it was too late," Roman said.
"I think I'm on board Dean's plan," Seraphine said.
"Yeah? You'll go out on a date with me?" Dean asked.
"Hell no!" Seraphine laughed. "I want a burger."
