Dina yelped in pain before curling into a ball and clutching her head.

Ellie kissed her hand before leaning into her battered body.
Tears began spilling from her eyes and Dina couldn't take it.
The last thing she remembered was Ellie wiping away her tears.
It wasn't until a few days… no, a few weeks later, that Dina finally felt like her body wasn't completely useless. She could wiggle her fingers, her toes, and even her eyebrows.
That was progress.
Even better, she was no longer tied down to the stupid bed in the infirmary. She hated the sterile smell. From what she gathered by glancing around this room, it wasn't their spaceship. It was unfamiliar yet comforting at the same time. It probably helped that this room oddly smelled like her Alpha. The more she thought about it, the more she placed the pieces together.
This was Ellie's room.
There was a guitar on the wall and even a bookshelf in the corner. This had to be her room or else she really did have permanent brain damage. Dina ended up shifting around in search of her mate. Ellie, for the most of it, was always by her bedside. She hardly left her side and helped her with everything possible.
Her Alpha fed her, bathed her, treated her wounds, and even helped with physical therapy. All while taking care of JJ and Butters. Every night, they'd sleep together as a family and Dina loved sleeping while being buried in her mate's arms and scent. On occasion, JJ wouldn't sleep with them and Ellie had explained that he was spending the night at Tommy's and Maria's.
Turns out, they weren't related by blood, but long story short, they were basically her uncle and aunt. Complicated, but she was still happy to learn more about her Alpha.
"Ellie…"
Dina started in a soft voice as she remembered that Ellie was right here, by her side. She nuzzled into her chest before breathing in her scent.
"Yeah?"
She really did love it when Ellie rubbed her back.
"I… I'm sorry."
"For what?" Her mate questioned back.
"I…" Dina sighed before burying her face into her neck. "I never told you but back when I was…" There was this heavy pang in her chest and her voice quivered before she forced it out. "Still w-with them. I… I well… fell in love with one of their Alphas."
She smiled at the bittersweet memory before expanding.
"He was… different. He wasn't like them. Then… one day, I found out I was pregnant."
That comment made Ellie shift uncomfortably. It was clear as day that she wasn't happy with the idea of her mate being pregnant with someone else's pup, let alone hearing it, but she held it together by holding Dina tighter and possessively kissing her mating mark. Her husky scent only calmed her down and Dina hugged her tighter before continuing.
"We kept it from them of course. We planned to run away together." She smiled again as her voice cracked and tears began to spill down her face. "But obviously things didn't go well. They found out about my pregnancy and confronted me about it."
Her breath hitched as tears fell freely on her face. "They dragged me in front of everyone to make an example out of me." She then reached down and clutched her stomach before sobbing into her shoulder. "They started beating me and when he found out, he came out to protect me and that's how…" She pulled on Ellie's shirt as she shut her eyes. "They killed him in front of me. Beat him to death. As for our pup… well, you saw what happened."
She sniffled before holding her stomach helplessly. "They're gone… our pup's gone." Silence hung for a second before Dina finally started speaking again. "I never told you about how scared I was when I was pregnant with JJ. I thought we'd lose him. I can't forget that pain I felt when I lost my first pup and now my third…" The tears wouldn't stop falling and she cried in her mate's embrace.
Ellie started shushing her mate as she comforted her with soothing pats. "It's okay babe… I'm right here Dina, I'm right here. No one gonna hurt you anymore." Her jaw clenched as she stared out the glass window with blank eyes, rage building up inside of her. "I'll make sure of it."
The Omega felt something wrong and she pulled back to look at her mate's face. "Ellie…?"
Her Alpha simply cupped her cheek before pulling her into a sweet kiss. "I love you."
Dina smiled wryly before hugging Ellie helplessly. "I love you too." She then kissed her lips before burying her nose in her neck. In no time, she fell asleep in the comfort of her Alpha's arms.
When the morning came, Ellie snuck out of bed. She tucked Dina in bed before kissing her goodbye. After that, she walked over to her trusted companion before whispering. "Take care of them, okay Butters?" She cooed at her dog before giving her some last few scratches. "I'll be back before you can forget me." She patted her dog one last time before leaving her in their room.
After that, she made her way to Bussy before grabbing her weapons. She bagged some supplies as well before heading out toward the docks for a rental ship. Once she found the perfect candidate, she convinced the guy to lend it to her and right when she was about to board the ship, a voice stopped her.
"Ellie!" The familiar voice called out. "Don't do this."
The Alpha let out a sigh before facing the heat. "You know I have to do this Tommy."
The second they made eye contact, Tommy frowned. "You don't have to."
"I do." Ellie insisted with a face filled with unspeakable rage. "They killed my pup." She growled as she dug her nails into her palm. "They dared to touch my mate and made her cry. Someone has to pay."
"Ellie…" He reprimanded in that tone of his. "Is this how this is going to go down again? You have a family now."
"It's because I have a family now that they can't be forgiven."
"Who's going to protect them?" Tommy challenged back.
"They'll be safe here," Ellie easily answered as she looked Tommy in the eyes. Even though their relationship was complex, she knew that Tommy and Maria would still look out for them despite what happened to Joel. "I'll be back as soon as I'm done."
"And when will that be Ellie?" Tommy challenged again. "When will it be enough? When can you stop this crusade and live your own life? This wasn't what Joel wanted when he sacrificed himself for you. He didn't want you to become some avenger, killing people for harming their loved ones! I thought you put it past you after Joel."
"I did," Ellie shouted back. "I did, but after hearing what they did to my Dina… what they did to my mate. None of them are getting out alive." Her tone was cold and there was only death haunting her eyes.
Tommy sighed before shaking his head, knowing she couldn't be convinced otherwise. "Fine. We'll watch over Dina and JJ. Just… just come back in one piece alright?"
"I will." She turned away before boarding this aircraft. "I will."

"Ellie…?"
Rousing from her sleep, Dina instinctively knew something was wrong. Her chest was uneasy and it wasn't thanks to the wounds she suffered. When she couldn't find her Alpha, that's when it clicked. Panic washed over her body and she shot out of bed before rushing out the door. She grunted in pain the second her foot hit the floor before clutching her uterus.
"Ellie…"
She pushed forward, limping as fast as she could to someone, anyone who would know where her mate was. She couldn't even hear Butters chasing after her and it wasn't until she ran into someone that snapped her out of her trace.
"Dina! What are you doing here? You should be resting honey."
It was Maria.
A choked sob left Dina's lips as she asked, "Where's Ellie?"
She froze up and that was all Dina needed to know before she shrugged her off and rushed to their ship. When Dina finally made it to their ship, their home, it was empty. The gun locker, empty. Their supplies, gone. For the first time in her life, the silence crept down her spine, making her break down in despair as she knew what was happening. She fell to her knees, choking on her breath as tears began to spill down her face. She shouted in helplessness, missing her mate's scent and warmth, with a heart-gouging ache in her chest.
How could she breathe?
How could she be alive when she didn't want to believe reality?
Her Alpha was gone.
Ellie left her. Ellie left her. Here. Alone and without their unnamed pup. That's when she heard a familiar cry. It was JJ. She snapped her neck around before making eye contact with Maria. She was cradling JJ in her arms and he was crying out loud, fussing in her arms. Butters wasn't any better and she was barking nonstop to catch her attention.
Dina didn't have the will to stand up.
She just held up her hands, hoping that she was holding them out in the right direction. She couldn't see. Her vision was shrouded in tears, unable to focus on anything but the sound of her crying pup. Her pup who was alive and crying for her attention. Thankfully, Maria was kind enough to place JJ in her arms. Dina clutched onto her son so tightly that she was afraid he'd choke, just like herself.
"I'm sorry baby." Dina apologized out of nowhere as tears dripped down all over his crying face. "I'm so sorry. Because of me…" She gasped in agonizing pain, "Because of me… your sire is gone and your baby sibling is…" She held onto him tightly again before breathing in his scent. "I couldn't protect them. I'm sorry JJ, I'm so sorry."
Her body was shaking and she couldn't stop crying.
She needed her Alpha.

"Who are you?" Some simpleton asked as he pointed a gun at Ellie.
Ellie looked at him, analyzing the possibility of him being the one before speaking. "Someone from Jackson."
"Huh? Jackson? Where the fuck is that?"
It wasn't him either.
Ellie looked around, scanning for others, before swiftly pulling out her gun and shooting him point-blank. It was his fault for being so stupid and walking into her space. She had been at this for a while now and it was sort of pitiful how none of these idiots noticed they were dropping like flies without being alerted already.
Oh well.
That wasn't her problem and either way, it didn't change her objective.
She checked her clip, counting how many rounds she had left. It wasn't the worst but she could've used more. She didn't want to get tired out from hand-to-hand combat. She wanted to save her strength because she personally wanted to punish whoever harmed her mate.
It wasn't until after she rigged some bombs here and there that she ran into someone. Quite literally and her reflexes had her jamming her knife into his neck. He started gurgling on his blood before sipping some up and collapsing to the floor.
"Fuck."
Ellie sighed before cleaning her knife with his arm sleeve. She didn't get to ask him her question so she could only hope this guy wasn't the one. Now, Ellie had no intention of massacring the Ravens but the second she started talking to all these chumps, they all started to piss her off. There was an endless amount of these fuckers out there in this galaxy and she normally ignored them but they were really pushing her limits this time around.
Perhaps it was because she knew this was where Dina came from and their reputation only twisted the depths of Ellie's core. She didn't know who had touched her mate and she didn't want to know because if she did, she wouldn't be able to leave their base until she found each and every one of them.
She cracked her neck to relieve the tension.
Her fingers were itching to do harm. She wanted to light this place up now so that she wouldn't have to be here any longer but that wouldn't satisfy her needs. She wouldn't feel better until she found him. It wasn't until a few fucktards later that she finally got somewhere. She saw this dude in the distance and he looked somehow more punchable than the rest.
He looked promising.
She walked over and in no time, she made eye contact with him before he noticed her and spoke up.
"Who the hell are you? You don't look like one of us, where'd you come from?" The man barked as he shot Ellie a mean glare.
Ellie tilted her head before reciting what she had been saying to all the Ravens. "From Jackson."
"Jackson?" The man repeated before laughing all of a sudden. "You came from Jackson? Why? To chase after me for breaking the rules?" He mocked before spitting on the floor.
Her jaw tightened as her hand twitched.
Ellie took in a short breath before breathing out her nose. "So it was you."
He just had this disgusting grin on his face before boasting at her face. "Come on, it's just one measly Omega. Why would anyone care for that ungrateful loose bitch? I taught her everything she knew yet she didn't even bother to say hi to good old me!"
The more he kept talking, the more Ellie had to remind herself to take it easy and slow. He didn't deserve a quick death. That would be too benevolent for someone who touched… no, fucked with her mate.
He laughed all of a sudden before starting, "Can you believe it? I hadn't seen her in what? A year? And she was knocked up again!" He laughed ludicrously before adding, "So I just did her a favor and got rid of it." He then shrugged casually before smirking at her. "It's a shame I couldn't drag her back to make her an example. She would've been perfect to teach these tramps what happens when you dare run away from the Ravens." He then kicked a nearby box in an angered fit.
Ellie's ears were buzzing.
She ignored that 'again' comment and all she could see was red. Before she knew it, she pulled out her pistol before shooting him in the shin, effectively shattering his bones and getting him to scream. However, before those around him could even react, she quickly ended their lives with a simple headshot. She emptied her clip by the time she reloaded her gun and walked over to his side.
It was a slow walk, and all Ellie could think of was how she was going to make him pay. A sinister smile crept on her face as she holstered her gun before pulling out her knife. She flipped it open before slowly leaning into the man who was desperately clutching his bloody shin. She got in real close to his face before whispering into his face.
"We're going to have a lot of fun."
She could see it in his face.
The terror in his eyes but she couldn't care less as she stabbed the thigh without further delay, twisting it in place. She made sure to jerk the blade around, churning his muscles like a smoothie and for once, never did a man sound so great to her ears. Blood spewed from his leg the second she pulled her knife out before she kicked him over. He fell over with a loud thud and Ellie just looked down at him with cold eyes.
Their Achilles heels was it?
She bent over and severed his ankles before kicking him in the stomach like he had done to her mate. She then crushed his balls in the most painful grind possible before pacing around his body. There were a couple of things she wanted to try out. She had never tortured someone this personally before but there was a first time for everything. The only sad part was that she had to plan out how this was going to go down.
She couldn't cut him up too much.
He wasn't allowed to die from blood loss.
Would gouging out his balls make him die from hemorrhage?
She certainly hoped not. Perhaps she would save the slicing and dicing for last. For now, she needed to make him faint from pain before waking his fucking ass up. What did Joel tell her that one time? Ah, yes… the area above the knee had the most nerves and was the best place for inflicting pain. She looked at the flesh wound she caused not too long ago. It was fine, he still had his other leg.
She then looked off to the side, looking for a tool to sear his wounds shut. She decided to kick his face before walking over to the drum barrel. Firewood, perfect. She pulled out a lighter from her breast pocket before lighting it up. Once the fire grew, she found the nearest steel pipe and shoved it inside.
"Now then… where were we?"
She cracked her wrist before whipping off the blood stain on her cheek. When she was in front of him again, she vaguely registered whatever he was saying.
"W-Who are you? W-What do you want?"
She ignored him before grabbing him by his short amount of hair and dragging him closer to the barrel. She aggressively shoved him before flipping her knife around and stabbing his other thigh. Naturally, he screamed bloody Mary and after she swiveled her knife around, she yanked it out before grabbing the steel pipe from the barrel. Then, without blinking, she singed his wound shut before shoving it back into the fire.
He was salivating out of his mouth at this point and it was disgusting.
"Tell me, what did you do to Dina again?"
It wasn't a question, really.
It didn't matter if there was an answer or not because it wouldn't change her punishment. However, the fact that he opened that foul mouth of his to speak irked her further. She kicked his bloody thigh before stomping on it. Shortly after, she grabbed his arm, yanking it aside, before driving her knife through his palm.
He shouted like a banshee again and Ellie hardly flinched. "H-Help… have mercy…"
A sigh left her mouth before she asked. "How does it feel?" She pulled out her knife from his flesh before standing up. "To be helpless… terrified… begging for mercy." She slowly pulled out the steel pipe again. "No one is going to help you."
She flipped the pipe around so that the blazing hot side was pointed down at him.
"How many people begged for mercy and forgiveness?"
She then jammed the burning rod into his foul dick.
He screamed so loud that his voice cracked. "W-Why… are you— doing this…?"
Ellie retracted the pole before running it up his torso. "You tell me." She then whacked him with the singing pipe before slamming down the tip right next to his ear, burning his earlobe in the process. "What have you done wrong…?" She started circling him like a predator, dragging the pole on the floor and scraping the metal against the pavement.
He spat up blood before coughing in pain and glaring at Ellie with these defying eyes.
His demeanor only made Ellie scoff before setting the pipe back into the burning barrel. "Looks like you haven't learned your lesson yet." She pulled out her knife again before flipping it around between her fingers. "Like I said, this is going to be a long night."
The way he was crawling around on the floor actually made her laugh. It was pathetic really. She was starting to understand the appeal behind torture, but even then, she wasn't like them who did it for shits and giggles. Karma was a real bitch and the Ravens brought it upon themselves. They should have done a better job at keeping their so-called slaves at bay, because this, was all on them.
Ellie flipped the knife one last time before creeping up on him from behind. "Don't worry, we have all the time in the world."
He didn't speak after that.

"Dina, you just come back from cleaning the ship again?"
"Yeah," the Omega replied with a tired smile. "I gotta keep it clean for when Ellie comes back."
It had been about three months since Ellie left her.
Life wasn't exactly that fulfilling but she couldn't exactly give up. She had JJ so she needed a routine. Every day, she'd play with their pup and take care of him before heading down to the distribution center to help out Maria. It was basically volunteer work but considering she was living at this colony rent-free, it was a fair trade-off. As for her well-being… well, she was still alive, wasn't she? She had a hard time stomaching anything but at least JJ had an appetite big enough for the both of them.
Every week, she'd go to their ship and thoroughly clean it so that it was free of dust before tending to their pup again. She began exposing him to letters, shapes, and objects. It was good for him to be distracted with random things because, at times, she could have sworn that he cried for his sire. He didn't seem to understand why Ellie wasn't around and even he refused to sleep at night sometimes.
It was difficult, really.
Dina could hardly pull herself together let alone giving their pup all the love and affection he deserved. Her chest still ached and the longer the time went by, the more she felt empty. She was losing herself and at this rate, she was afraid Ellie wouldn't take her back when she came back. If she came back.
"Take it easy now okay? I don't want you collapsing on us, you're one of the most hard-working Omegas I know!" The random colonist exclaimed with a jolly tone.
A forced smile pulled Dina away from her self-wallowing. "Will do Jack, will do…"
She didn't mean it.
But, if she didn't say something they wanted to hear, they wouldn't leave her alone. That was the little trick she learned after being here for a few months. As long as one pleased the crowd with sweet words, they'd leave you alone. And, Dina of all people, sure as hell knew how to butter people up.
When she looked at the clock, it was that time of day. She sighed before making her way over to the cafeteria. Meals were the least favorite part of her day because what was the point? She could never stomach the food for that long and ended up puking out her guts shortly after either way. But, if she didn't get anything, her cover would get blown since the kitchen staff would inform Maria.
Damn how close this colony was with each other.
Once she was close enough to the mess hall, she could smell what they were serving. Fish and chips. Not quite her favorite to forcibly eat, but for some reason, it did remind her of Ellie. Speaking of her Alpha, a wave of nostalgia hit her when she saw a cup of peaches in the distance. It had been one of the treats that her mate loved and was willing to share with her.
She frowned before mumbling to herself. "Ellie…"
She was truly lonely.
Hell, she began missing her pup that her chest ached. JJ was only a few steps away, at the daycare watched over by Maria on Tuesdays. After she finished her meal, she was sure to pick him up early. Her baby may have had a different scent compared to her Alpha but it still soothed her somewhat. It helped. Only a little.
As she mindlessly shoveled food into her mouth, a familiar scent made the hairs on Dina's skin stand. She quickly turned her head before focusing on the smell. It took a second but her eyes widened once she was certain who it was before rushing from her seat and sprinting down the hallway as fast as she could. She was out of breath by the time she was hit by a heavy wave of pheromones. She had to stop in place, bracing her knees to stop herself from falling over. She was panting heavily and when a pair of feet entered her peripheral visions, her eyes got teary.
She did her best to hold back her tears but failed miserably before confirming in a shaky voice. "E-Ellie…?"
The voice she longed for chuckled, and when she looked up, the aching in her chest seemed to have lightened up. She collided with her mate without a second wasted, burying her face into her scent gland. Ahh… How could one scent make her weak at her knees yet give her so much willpower to live at the same time? Tears began to flow down her cheeks and she squeezed her Alpha as hard as she could.
"I… I'm never letting you go again."
Ellie finally wrapped her arms around her waist, hugging her tightly and remaining right where she belonged. "Hey beautiful, I'm back."
"Welcome home," Dina choked out before kissing her neck again and again. "Welcome home, Ellie."
