Hermione nudged a stray strand of hair behind her ears as she stomped down the hallways. She wasn't exactly impatient or so she liked to tell herself, but she certainly wasn't a saint either and Harry was clearly pushing the limits.

The Potter, her mind spitting his last name in such haughtiness that a certain ferret from Hogwarts would have been impressed.

Harry had promised to accompany her to the grocery store, a mission that Hermione had deemed imperative after they had ran out of Teddy's favorite Hippogriff candies. The newly adorned "Man Who Won", had told her that it was not a big deal and that Teddy who had the attention span of a goldfish would forget about it.

The irate witch had let him know that she was going to spoil the boy no matter what, even if his "Godfather" was too lazy to.

She had huffed at the taller man before smirking playfully. The bibliophile was locked in a competition with her unassuming best friend to see who would become Teddy's favorite.

Sure, Harry had an advantage with the almost effortless charm he had cultivated since his victory over a nose less dark wizard, but Hermione was not far behind! She had even resorted to repeating "Hermy" over and over again to make sure that she would be his first words! Not that Harry would know about it, she was sure he was as oblivious as a troll.

The man to her displeasure simply guffawed at Hermione's smirk before patting her head good-naturedly. "What does he think I am?! A KID?", screamed Hermione in her mind.

"Mione, if it really troubles you this much? Why not! I'll come back in 10 minutes", stated Harry as he stroked her locks.

That had been 11 minutes ago...

The "Boy-Who-Lived" was certainly not going to live much longer.

Hermione made the corner, her chestnut brown eyes ablaze with anger!

Before gasping inaudibly.

Harry cradled an adorable Teddy in his lap, the toddler's hair resembling his own along with his pale white skin. "They look just like father and son", sighed Hermione contently... this time making an audible noise.

She saw as Teddy's small head moved itself towards her direction. Instead of meeting the emerald green she had grown to love she was met with a rich brown.

A brown that she had seen staring back at her every single time she looked into the mirror.

Hermione gasped, Teddy looked like a cross between her and Harry causing her to blush. Harry who remained oblivious to it all yelled at the witch.

"MIONE! HE IS ABOUT TO SAY HIS FIRST WORDS!", howled Harry with excitement.

Hermione dashed towards him, almost tripping over one of Teddy's countless toys.

This was it. Countless hours of training. Blood, sweat and tear's all for this! She believed in Teddy, he had to tell her name!

Hermione looked into Teddy's brown eyes, trying to convey the memories of her teaching him her name.

"Ah...", drawled the toddler

She was so close...

"Ah..."

A drop of sweat now trickled down her forehead.

"Mama", cried Teddy. His mouth twisting into a wide smile as he pointed at her.

Hermione's heart stopped. She had never felt more honored in her life.

This moment of triumph was interrupted as Teddy started moving his finger's again. Now landing on her best friend of 8 years.

"Papa", said Teddy

The room was engulfed in an awkward silence before the witch engulfed Teddy with a Hermione Hug (Trademark, Copyright Applies) .

"I love you so much Teddy", cooed Hermione as she winked at the dumfounded Potter.

They were going to have a nice talk after this
