Just something I've had on my mind for a while since I rewatched season six, this is just how it turned out. Hope you all enjoy it.
Beacon Hills High School
Day
Mrs. Finch let herself into the Principal's office, where the Principal sat at his desk, working on some paperwork.
"You asked to see me, Sir?" Mrs. Finch asked and he stopped what he was doing, putting his pen down.
"Sit down," he said, in a voice that lacked any warmth.
Mrs. Finch sat down in the chair in front of the desk, sensing something had happened.
"An hour ago, I got a call from our Superintendent, who just talked to a lawyer representing the parents of Liam Dunbar," the principal said and Mrs. Finch cringed, having a feeling she knew what this was about. "The Superintendent just talked them out a lawsuit, regarding the assault of their son."
"Sir-"Mrs. Finch started.
"I don't want to hear it," the Principal cut her off firmly. "They did their homework, there are dozens of witness statements, including from Coach Finstock and a confession from one of the boys who assaulted Liam. All corroborate that you did nothing to protect Liam or deescalate the situation. That is unacceptable. Mr. and Mrs. Geyer have every grounds to sue this school, which would take much needed funding from us. Instead, we reached a compromise. As of one hour ago, you no longer work here."
"Sir-"
"Mrs. Finch, I can't for the life of me understand what went through your mind when you decided not to protect one of our students, but that is not a behavior I will condone. Were Tamara Monroe in front of me, I would turn her into the Sherriff. Our responsibility is to protect our students, shape them into people who can leave these halls with the knowledge they need to make it in the real world. You have failed at that. You have the rest of the day to clean out your desk. Now get out."
Face burning with shame, Mrs. Finch rose to her feet and exited the office, knowing she very well couldn't argue any of his points.
How Mrs. Finch did nothing when Nolan and Gabe beat up Liam has always bothered me so much. It took her from a character I had respect for to a character I despised.
Maybe I could give Mrs. Finch a pass for letting Liam get beat up and just put it down to the Anuk-Ite…if they hadn't revealed that she was not only a Werewolf, but an Alpha. We're supposed to buy that she so scared of a bunch of boys that it stops her from helping Liam. Bull. Ultimately, she just chose to save her own ass and was willing to sacrifice Liam in order to not get exposed.
