Khalid-Al-Wassim, the current President of Iran, was not exactly happy, actually far from it.

He was tired, and very very angry, mostly angry.

And the events of the last few weeks weren't helping. From riots, martial law and clashes with the actual United Arab Republics to reports that the Soviet Union was back and currently in a war with an alien power known as the 'Combine'.

'Allah give me strength,' he thought with a sigh as he sipped his coffee, around the room, many advisors and military members sat around an oval table as man from the 'Office for reclamation of islamic artifacts' or ORIA for short, was busy pointing to a current map showing Europe and North America.

"The Soviets-" The ORIA agent began, pointing at the Map of Eastern Europe with the Balkans highlighted in teal. "-Are stuck in a war with the combine, and have been for the past year and a half, so far it's a stalemate from what we have managed to gather with the Warsaw pact making some gains into Bulgaria and Serbia with Vjodina having fallen into Pact hands just three months ago before our Republics arrival." The agent continued on.

"The Turks meanwhile-" He added after sipping his water, the map showing the Anatolian peninsula with Istanbul, Yalova and Kocaeli region colored teal, the sign of combine occupation.

"-Are busy dealing with the combine as well, as the Combine apparently own all of Thrace prior to the entire middle east being thrown into this world, so far Istanbul and Kocaeli have been overran through the use of mass head crab bombardment, head crabs being an alien parasitic like organism that turns people into honest to god zombies via taking over by latching onto the head and hijacking the nervous system." The agent once more explained, looking around the room and seeing everyone's horrified looks.

"And what of the rest of the Middle east?" A general of the Army asked with a grim look.

The agent clicks the projector, this time showing Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Yemen and the Western Coast of Saudi Arabia highlighted in Red.

"The UAR is doing decent…ish, from what we had managed to gather, their army is busy dealing with a species of subterranean vampiric humanoids just 40 miles from Baghdad. From what we could gather, these 'vampires' are sensitive to light, so much so that they will literally catch on fire when exposed to the sun." The agent said and then flipped to the next slide, showing the Arabian peninsula colored Green.

"The Arab league is exactly as the name suggests, it's the entire league, primarily those from the Arabian peninsula such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, the UAE and Kuwait. From what we know of, there have been multiple skirmishes on the borders of Kuwait and Iraq but so far these haven't escalated. And thankfully they aren't pro-Soviet like that of the UAR." The agent continued once more before clicking to the next slide, showing the levant highlighted.

"Israel, from what we know of, has gone fully communist, with Jordan being a normal kingdom similar to the one from our world, however fully squished around all sides by the UAR save for the Arab league on its southern border. The same cannot be said for Lebanon, however it is surrounded fully on all sides by the Israelis and UAR and would be utterly crushed should war ever come to them."

"However by far the biggest threat is Algeria, more specifically what lies within it." The agent suddenly declared and showed the next slide, showing locusts the size of small dogs devouring what looks like to be an Italian soldier.

"yā ilāhī, What the fuck are those?" An army general asked in shock as he looked at the image.

"Giant locusts, and that's one of the many problems plaguing North africa." The agent droned on, clicking the project to show a scarab beetle roughly 85 feet tall followed by a horde of honest to god mummies.

"We have no clue how it got this bad in Algeria, but from what we know of, the Algerian army is very taxed as we speak with only the UAR and Soviet Union helping them out by sending weapons and advisors, but these are stop gap measures at most." The agent said and clicked the slide once more, the nations of Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso, and showing an actual Egyptian Sphinx walking around, followed by a large vulture with a woman's head replacing its normal one, a large mummy with an avian shaped skull, some sort of large skeletal naga clad in ornate jewels and dresses and finally many large ruins and pyramids shortly thereafter.

"From what we know of, the images you see before you have all come from a strange sem-civilized desert kingdom known as Ararat, some sort of fantasy kingdom you'd see from a book."

"So are you saying that it's ararat's fault as to why Algeria is like this?" An Air Force general asked with narrowed eyes.

The agent merely shook his head.

"No, from what we could gather, Algeria was in this mess before they were even thrown into this world alongside us."

Grimaces went around the room as Khalid felt his head ache grow as the meeting dragged on and only had one thought.

'Allah give me strength.'

Europe

The Balkans

7:41PM

If you asked First Lieutenant Thrag if that he and his species would be thrown onto another world, he would've looked at you funny. But after the events of the past two months, he was willing to believe anything at this point, One of which being coming under the command of the Military for a secular state and told to go fight Interdimensional alien occupiers called 'The Combine'

That sort of thing.

But hey, at least he got someone to fight, so that was good in his book.

"Oi, driver, how long until we reach the front?" One Uruk-Hai asked the driver, looking over at him boredly, an AKM-74 sitting across his lap, his dirty pale and dark green skin easy to spot along with his wolfish features such as his large canines and slightly pig shaped nostrils.

The driver, a human in a winter coat, merely looked back at him boredly.

"Two hours comrades, Vjodina is especially after being liberated. Xen wildlife and bandits haven't been fully squashed yet, so quiet down." He barked back and kept his focus on the dirt road.

The Uruk-Hai snorted and reached into his vest before pulling out an MRE, looking at it as if mentally debating the pros and cons of eating it before putting it back into his pouch.

"I can't wait till we get to the front, we ain't had nothing but shitty MRE's for three stinking days." He growled, something Thrag couldn't help but agree with.

Seeing no choice, Thrag leaned back and closed his eyes, letting himself drift off to sleep.

Until he was woken up by a loud cry.

"RPG!" The driver shouted as the BMP in front of them went up in a ball of flames, the BMP they themselves were riding in turned its autocannon towards the treeline and began to unload into the attackers as the back ramp slammed down.

"Out, everyone out!" Thrag shouted, now wide awake as he and the rest of his Brothers were running out and diving into cover in the nearby ditches or fallen trees. The bandits gave yelps and cries of surprise, expecting normal Soviet conscripts that would break at the first sign of trouble, not whatever the Uruk-Hai were.

Thrag raised his AKM-74 and fired, a three round burst striking a fallen log in the treeline, one Uruk-Hai pulled the pin on his grenade and tossed it, landing behind a rock and making a bandit cry in shock before exploding, turning him and his friend into shredded corpses.

One by one the bandits fell, being picked off by the coordination and ruthlessness of the Uruk-Hai, making the former turn tail and flee with whatever is left of them, leaving their comrades to deal with the monsters alone.

Just as quick as it began, it had ended with the Uruk-hai finishing off the wounded bandits and dragging five survivors in total into the ditch.

"Who are you with?!" Thrag demanded loudly, kicking one in the side and making him yelp in pain.

"N-n-no one, we-w-we're on our own." The bandit stuttered, looking away from Thrag in fear, not expecting something like him to even exist.

Thrag felt his lips curl into a sneer.

"Why did you attack our convoy? And don't fucking stutter, you stutter again and I'll slit your throat and rip your tongue out through the hole." He growled, making the poor man choke back a sob.

"W-We were expecting C-conscripts, we thought that y'all would run at first sign of trouble and we would grab any gear y'all left." The bandit explained, his buddies nodding furiously, hoping they would be spared.

Thrag felt his sneer turn into an inhuman growl, making the bandit below whimper in fear.

"So let me get this straight, you ambushed us under the stupid notion that we would be conscripts, grab our gear after we fled despite seeing the BMP's and even a tank,-" He jabs his thumb to the newly made T-95 tank at the back of the convoy.

"-Didn't even take it out, and instead went for a random BMP?" Thrag recounted, listing off their achievements one by one by counting off his fingers as he glared down at the scum.

"W…well when you put it like that-" The man didn't have time to finish his sentence as Thrag pulled out his machete and split the bandits head open, blood pouring out from his skull along with some small pieces of brain matter and making the four other prisoners cry in shock, fear and surprise.

Thrag pulled out the machete before kicking the corpse back, making it fall like a bag of hammers before turning to the commander.

One by one, down the line Thrag went, cutting their throats or heads open and making them bleed out quickly.

"I'm starving." One Uruk-Hai loudly complained. "We haven't had anything to eat but shitty MRE's!" Another griped as Thrag turned to their handler, a human man with a cybernetic eye.

The man narrowed his eyes before giving a huff.

"Normally with POW's this would be discouraged, but bandits? Go ahead, bastards fucking delayed us anyway."

Thrag smiled before turning back to his brothers.

"Looks like meat's back on the menu!" He shouted, making the other Uruk-Hai roar as they descended upon the corpses like hungry wolves.

And through it all, their handler tried his best to drown out the noises.

Author's note: Firstly I'd like to apologize for taking this long, for some reason writing a middle eastern section was a pain in the ass and kept making me hit a wall so to speak on how to further continue this story.
