Hey everyone! I'm back with the season 2 finale! I can't believe we're at the end of the season already! I really hope you all enjoy this chapter. P.S. Sorry for any grammatical errors.
Transformers Prime: The Medic's Assistant
Chapter 63: Darkest Hour
Disclaimer: I don't own Transformers Prime
Stormracer couldn't believe what was happening as she fearfully looked at Sierra trapped within the pod. She wanted to run over and help her, but she knew one wrong move and the cons would open the pods.
Sierra looked back at her guardian with the same scared expression as she placed her hands against the glass.
Holding the redhead's pod, Knock Out felt sick to his tank. He didn't expect Stormracer to be there. This made the situation worse for him. He could see her expression clearly as she looked up at him. All he could do was look at her apologetically.
Stuck in one of the pods Soundwave was holding, Miko tried kicking the glass in vain. "Not how I wanted to spend my first trip to Cybertron," she said grimly.
Starscream held up the pod containing Jack. "Hope you don't mind. We noticed the humans were unattended and thought they would love to be part of this special occasion. Knock Out was even kind enough to pick them up so they could join us."
Stormracer's optics widened at this. She looked at Knock Out as she felt her spark being crushed inside of her.
Seeing how hurt she was, the red con shamefully lowered his helm.
"Starscream," Megatron said.
"Jack," the seeker sang as he looked at the pod containing the boy, "it's time to come out and play." He dragged his sharp digits against the glass, making Jack cringe at the sound.
The boy turned around and glared at the Decepticon SIC. "Go ahead," he said boldly, "the autobots were prepared to sacrifice themselves for my planet. I'll do the same for theirs."
"Me too, creepy!" Miko told Soundwave.
Pushing away her fear, Sierra glared up at Knock Out. "That goes double for me."
Raf nervously gulped but nodded in agreement.
"Perhaps we should oblige them," Megatron suggested to Optimus.
"If my decision dooms the future of the autobot cause on Cybertron, so be it," Optimus said, "But I will never forsake our human allies." He then brought the Star Saber down, the blade piercing through the metal ground. He then backed away towards his team.
Having no choice, the others did the same. Arcee removed the Apex Armor before tossing it towards the sword. Stormracer detached her hologram projector and tossed it as well. The rest of the team tossed the relics they had, unarming themselves.
The four kids could only watch as their friends threw down their weapons.
"No," Sierra murmured.
Starscream evilly chuckled. "How predictable."
"Now, if you please, the Omega Keys," Megatron demanded as he held out his servo, "One at a time." He glanced at Knock Out, telling the doctor to go first.
Knock Out stepped forward with Sierra.
Wanting to make it more interesting, Megatron looked at Stormracer. "I believe it would be more fitting for dear Stormracer to make the first trade. It is her human's life in Knock Out's hands after all."
Knock Out tensed at that. He knew it wasn't just about the fact he had Sierra. His leader wanted to see the femme's reaction.
Stormracer frowned at the cons before looking up at Optimus. Knowing it was to save their friends, Optimus nodded.
The teal femme then turned to Smokescreen. "Give me your key, Smoke."
The recruit vented but handed it to her.
Stormracer then made her way towards Knock Out. She tightly gripped the key as she frowned at the Decepticon doctor.
Knock Out could see the hurt and anger in her optics as she got closer. Soon she stopped in front of him, not saying a word.
"I had no choice," he whispered to her.
Stormracer didn't accept his excuse. Instead, she roughly shoved the key into his chest, making him grunt from the force. She then took Sierra from him and stepped away. Her frown disappeared as she checked to make sure her friend was okay.
"Are you hurt?" she asked.
Sierra shook her head. She then shot Knock Out a glare. "Drop dead!" she told him.
Stormracer frowned at Knock Out one last time before walking back to the others. Her spark ached as she fought to keep herself from crying. The last time her spark ached this badly was when Mesothulas hurt her. It was a pain she had hoped to never go through again.
Knock Out stepped back as Soundwave stepped forward with Miko and Raf. Bulkhead went next as he approached the intelligence officer with his key.
"If I don't get the girl, I'll make you eat this key," Bulkhead threatened as he roughly gave Soundwave the key.
The con said nothing as he handed Miko to the wrecker.
Bulkhead growled as he immediately took his human friend.
"Get scrapped!" Miko told Soundwave.
Soon as the wrecker returned with Miko, it was Bumblebee's turn. Approaching Soundwave, he angrily bleeped as he gave his key to him before taking Raf. The scout looked at his human friend to make sure he was okay before walking away.
Finally, it was Arcee's turn. The blue femme frowned as she made her way towards Starscream.
"No tricks," the seeker said as he aimed his missile at her. "The key if you please." He then turned his servo over to take the key from the two-wheeler. Once it was in his possession, he stepped back as Arcee took Jack.
Just then a spacebridge portal opened. Arcee immediately picked up Jack and rushed towards the others as vehicons stormed out of the portal with their blasters up. Soon Team Prime found themselves surrounded at gunpoint.
The four main Decepticons made their way around towards the Omega Lock. Megatron evilly chuckled as he looked at his prisoners.
"So close, and yet," the Decepticon leader told the bots, "And for what? Four human lives?"
Starscream looked at Stormracer who was protectively holding Sierra. He evilly chuckled. "How does it feel, Underling? Knowing that someone you care about was willing to capture your human pets for his own faction?"
At first, Stormracer looked at him in confusion. It wasn't until his words sunk in that her optics widened. Was he talking about... wait, does he know?... Do they all know?!
Knock Out's optics widened as well as he looked at Starscream. "What are you doing?" he harshly whispered.
The seeker only ignored him.
Team Prime was confused as they glanced between Stormracer and Starscream.
"Huh?" Bumblebee bleeped.
"What's he talking about?" Arcee asked Stormracer.
Seeing the other autobots had no clue, the seeker laughed. "Oh my. She never told you?"
Bulkhead raised his optical ridge at him. "Told us what?"
Stormracer tried to speak but she couldn't. She was too shocked to. She grew scared as she glanced between Starscream and the team.
Sierra looked up at her guardian. She too grew nervous as she saw the femme freezing up.
Wanting to see Optimus' reaction, Megatron smirked as he looked at Stormracer. "Well then, perhaps we should tell them right now."
Stormracer's optics fearfully widened. She didn't want her team to find out this way! "No, don't," she pleaded.
Knock Out tried to intervene as he stepped forward. "My liege, pl-" he stopped when Megatron lifted his servo up, telling him to be silent. Not wanting to cause trouble, he kept his mouth shut as he stepped back, but the worried look on his face remained.
Optimus stood in front of Stormracer as he glared at Megatron. "What is this about?" he demanded.
"It appears that your little assistant has been sneaking around with my medic for quite some time," Megatron revealed. "And she has gotten rather… attached to him."
"Very attached," Starscream added with an evil grin.
Stormracer felt sick to her tank. She wanted to just disappear out of thin air. She fearfully looked at her teammates, scared on how they'll react.
The bots looked at Megatron in disbelief, thinking he was only making it up.
"Ha!" Bulkhead laughed, "yeah right! Like Storm would ever do that. You're lying."
The teal femme remained quiet as she looked down at Sierra. Her human friend had the same worried look on her face as she too kept silent. Smokescreen had already made his way next to Stormracer, expecting the worse.
"Am I?" Megatron asked smugly.
Soundwave stepped forward before his visor came to life. What appeared on the screen was the last thing the bots expected to see.
Stormracer couldn't help but stare in horror as the screen showed her and Knock Out kissing in the woods. She couldn't believe what was happening. How did they even get this footage?! she thought. She felt she was about to purge her tank empty. She was praying so hard it was all just a bad dream and that she was going to wake up any second.
Unfortunately, it was no dream. What was happening was real.
"Scrap," Smokescreen whispered.
"Oh no," Sierra murmured.
There was a dead silence as the team stared at the footage in utter shock. Even Jack, Miko, and Raf were flabbergasted.
Megatron couldn't help but relish the expressions on their faces. Especially Optimus'.
Soon Bulkhead broke the silence. "Th-that can't be real," he said. Refusing to believe it, he looked at the teal femme. "Storm, please tell us that didn't really happen."
Stormracer looked at her team who were all staring at her, their looks demanding an answer.
"Storm?" Bumblebee asked pleadingly.
"Tell us it's not true," Arcee demanded.
A look of guilt spread across the assistant's face. She shamefully lowered her head as she shut her optics. "I can't."
Those two words hit the bots hard as they stared at her in complete shock.
"What?!" Bumblebee bleeped.
Stormracer's optics stung as tears welled up in them. "I'm so sorry."
Megatron laughed at her feeble apology. He then looked at Optimus. "How shocking this must be for you, Optimus. Knowing that one of your own has been seeing the enemy behind your back."
Though Optimus was indeed shocked by the femme's secret, he still glared at the warlord.
Knock Out could only watch as the bots glared at Stormracer. He could see the tears escaping from the femme's optics. The sight of her crying upset him. He wanted to say something, but he couldn't. He sadly vented as he lowered his head and shut his optics.
Smokescreen looked at Knock Out who hadn't said a word. He couldn't help but glare at the con, not just for his silence, but for hurting his friend.
"Now, I believe we have more important matters to deal with," Megatron continued as he looked at Soundwave. Taking the second Omega Key from the intelligence officer, he and the others made their way towards the Omega Lock. Knock Out sadly kept his gaze down as he followed behind his leader.
Still held at gun point, the bots had no choice but to watch.
"Now bare witness as a new era dawns on Cybertron," the warlord said. He inserted the first key into the lock, and then Starscream, then Soundwave, then Knock Out.
All four keys in, a bright light emerged from the Omega Lock before a hologram of Cybertron emerged. The pillars around them lit up as the lock activated.
"Behold!" Megatron shouted, "the age of the Decepticons!" He then pushed a button on the lock's console. A beam of light shot out from the ring and hit a ruined building from a far. All optics watched in amazement as the structure began changing and pulling itself together. Once the light faded, they saw the building... standing there brand new.
"By the Allspark," Optimus said.
"Wow," Bumblebee bleeped.
"Whoa," Raf said.
"Instant home makeover," Miko commented.
Optimus looked at the warlord. "You have what you want, Megatron. This conflict is between Autobots and Decepticons. Allow me to return the humans to Earth."
"Oh, I wouldn't recommend it," the Decepticon leader said, "they'll be far safer here."
"Say what now?" Stormracer asked.
Megatron looked at Starscream. "Is the spacebridge locked on target?"
"Per your instructions, Lord Megatron," the SIC responded.
"Excellent. Why rule only one world... when I can rule two?"
The bots' optics widened as a large space bridge portal opened above the Omega Lock.
With one push of a button, Megatron activated the lock, sending the beam through the portal... towards Earth.
"No," Optimus gravely said.
"They can't do this!" Stormracer exclaimed.
"But if the Omega Lock can restore Cybertron, it will do the same to Earth, right?" Miko asked.
"No," Optimus responded, "it will cyberform your planet in favor of its new matrix... destroying all indigenous life in the process."
The kids were horrified by this.
"No!" Sierra exclaimed, "they can't! Our families are still on Earth!"
Jack's eyes fearfully widened. "Mom."
Team Prime helplessly watched as the beam continued shooting upwards through the portal, endangering the world they swore to protect.
"Such raw power," Megatron said, "what should I call my new domain? New Kaon? Or perhaps, Gilded Earth?"
"No!" Jack yelled as he banged his fists against the glass.
"Stop!" Sierra exclaimed as she did the same.
"Leave our planet alone!" Miko shouted.
Stormracer pleadingly looked at Knock Out. "Knock Out please, stop this!"
Knowing he couldn't, the red con lowered his helm in shame.
Megatron laughed, as did Starscream. Both maniacally laughed as they watched the Earth being reformatted. Even Soundwave silently laughed as his shoulders shook.
Knock Out however didn't laugh. He looked at Stormracer who was helplessly watching. Tears were in her optics as she continued looking at him pleadingly. But he knew if he tried to stop the cyberforming, Megatron would not only punish him, but kill her. He was too afraid to do anything.
Optimus looked at the cons and frowned. Making a big decision, he activated his blade and swung it at the two vehicons in front of him, making them fly back from the blow. One even slammed right into Knock Out, knocking the medic off his pedes. The Prime then ran over and ripped the Star Saber out of the ground. Spinning around, he swung it, sending a wave of energy at a bunch of vehicons trying to stop him.
Megatron angrily yelled as he grabbed the Dark Starsaber and charged at the Prime.
But Optimus was too quick for him. Knocking the Decepticon leader's blade away, Optimus swung his sword, slicing off Megatron's arm holding his weapon.
Megatron fell to his knee as he grunted, his wound sparking from the attack.
Optimus then ran towards the Omega Lock. Starscream and Soundwave tried firing at him, but the Prime dodged their attacks. Starscream even tried firing a missile at Optimus, hoping to slow him down. But the Autobot leader dodged that as well and leaped onto the seeker, using him to launch himself into the air. Letting out a yell, he brought the sword up and swung it down into the Omega Lock.
BOOM!
The Star Saber destroyed the Omega Lock, causing an explosion that sent everyone near it flying back from the force. The ray soon disappeared, saving the Earth.
The bots had to shield their optics from the smoke and fire around them. Once they could see clearly, their optics widened. The Omega Lock was completely destroyed. Their hope to restore their world... gone. They watched as Optimus emerged from the smoke and flames as he placed the sword in its holster.
Needing to leave, Optimus contacted the base. "Ratchet, please open the spacebridge."
Soon as the spacebridge portal opened, everyone hurried towards it. Stormracer only ran halfway before noticing Knock Out stumbling out from the smoke. He looked back at her as they both stood there. Hurt by his actions, the femme felt more tears welling up in her optics.
Knock Out approached her as he tried to explain. "Stormracer, I-" He immediately stopped in his tracks as she activated her EMP and aimed it at him. The tears had already started streaming down her cheeks as she glared at him.
Knock Out took a step back as he tried talking to her. "I can explain-"
"Don't," she angrily said.
"But-"
"I said, don't!" she snapped. "Just stay away from my team! Stay away from Sierra!... and stay away from me."
Knock Out felt his spark aching by this. There was a pause as he silently stood there, truly seeing how much he hurt her. Trying not to show his emotions, he frowned back at the Autobot femme. "Fine! See if I care! I'm better off without you!"
His words stung her. Dropping her glare, Stormracer slowly lowered her EMP as she sadly looked at the doctor. "You were right... we should have never kept seeing each other."
Knock Out immediately regretted his words as his glare disappeared.
"Storm!" Arcee shouted at the teal femme, "come on!"
More tears escaped from her optics as Stormracer looked at Knock Out one last time. She then turned around and ran after the others through the portal.
Knock Out reached his servo out as if to try and stop her. But it was too late. He could only watch as she disappeared through the portal. He didn't mean what he said. He felt horrible for saying it. He felt horrible for everything. His tears were stinging his optics as he shut them and lowered his head.
"I'm sorry," he whispered.
"Knock Out!" Starscream shouted.
Snapping his head up, the red con looked at the Decepticon commander.
"Attend to our master!" Starscream ordered as he pointed at Megatron, "He requires medical attention!"
Composing himself, Knock Out did as he was told and rushed over to look at Megatron's injuries.
Starscream noticed the autobot's spacebridge portal disappearing, making him scowl in its direction. "Prime! You will pay for dooming Cybertron to remain a lifeless husk!"
The seeker then heard laughter behind him. Turning around, he saw Megatron standing back up as he evilly laughed.
Knock Out stepped back from his leader. He felt uneasy as the warlord continued cackling.
Finally, Megatron looked at the others with an evil grin. "They can run, but they can never again run home."
(Autobot Base)
Having escaped through the portal, the autobots sadly walked into the base with the children still in the pods.
Ratchet was shocked to see the humans with them. "The children? What happened?"
The bots didn't answer as they opened the pods to let the children out.
"Somebody say something," the medic asked impatiently.
Finally, Bulkhead responded. "Optimus… destroyed the Omega Lock."
Ratchet was shocked by the news as he looked at his leader. "What? You did-"
"What was necessary," Optimus interrupted, "there was no time for another prolonged battle. Not with Earth in imminent danger."
"So, you destroyed the only device in any universe capable of restoring our home? Optimus... we needed that."
"You weren't there, Doc," Smokescreen told the medic, "And it's not your place to second guess a battlefield decision."
"It most certainly is!" Ratchet angrily argued, "there HAD to be another way!"
"It wasn't that simple, Ratchet," Jack said as he and the others stood on the platform.
"Megatron was using the Omega Lock to attack the Earth," Raf explained.
"Optimus saved our planet," Miko added.
"What about our planet?!" Ratchet furiously asked, "all of our struggles and energon spilled and countless sacrifices, for nothing?!"
"Right decision or wrong, what's done is done," Arcee said, "but we have another problem here on this world. The cons just changed the rules when they put the kids into play."
"Megatron has shown he is willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish his goals," Optimus said, "including endangering our human allies. It is paramount we take necessary precautions from this point forward."
"That's not the only thing we need to talk about," Arcee said with a frown. She turned her attention to Stormracer who was standing behind the group.
Stormracer felt herself shrinking in place as everyone brought their attention to her. No one looked happy as they frowned.
"So... mind explaining to us about you and Knock Out?" the two-wheeler sternly asked as she folded her arms.
Ratchet was confused as he looked between her and Stormracer. "What are you talking about?"
"Do you want to tell him, or should I?" Arcee asked the assistant.
There was a long pause as everyone waited for Stormracer to say something. Having no choice, the assistant sadly vented. "Those nights I've been going out for a drive… I was actually seeing Knock Out."
Ratchet's optics widened at this. "What?!"
"How long did this go on for?" Optimus asked.
Stormracer bit her lip as she looked at the floor.
"How long, Storm?!" Arcee snapped.
"…. About three months."
"Three months?!" Bumblebee bleeped, "are you kidding me?!"
"What the heck, Storm?!" Bulkhead exclaimed.
"I'm sorry," Stormracer said, "I-I wanted to tell all of you but… I was scared. And I knew if I did then you would make me stop seeing him."
"Of course we would stop you from seeing him!" Arcee argued, "have you forgotten what he's done to all of us?! He's the enemy!"
"Why did you do it?" Bulkhead asked.
"Because I was trying to help him," she confessed, "when Knock Out lost Breakdown, he had no one to talk to, so we secretly met so we could talk in private."
"Let me get this straight," Arcee said, "so all this time we thought you were out for a drive; you were having a heart to heart with Knock Out?!"
"I know he's a con, and I know he's done really bad things… but I saw a good side to him and thought… I thought maybe I could convince him to switch sides."
"Seriously?" Bumblebee bleeped as he gave her a bewildered look.
"Yeah right!" Bulkhead furiously added, "like we're going to let that creep join after everything he's done! What's even more unbelievable is that you went head over heels for the guy! You even kissed him!"
If Ratchet's optics could go any wider, they would have popped out of his head. "WHAT?!" He looked at his assistant. "Tell me he's joking!"
Stormracer tried to say something, but she couldn't. Instead, she shamefully lowered her helm.
Ratchet stared at his assistant in disbelief. "I don't believe this," he said angrily as he stepped towards her. "Did you at once think how we would feel about all of this?!"
"Of course I did!" she said, "But-"
"But what?!" Arcee angrily asked, "you thought by being his shoulder to cry on he would become an autobot?! You didn't once think that maybe he was taking advantage of you?! Were you even thinking at all?!"
"Whoa, go easy on her!" Smokescreen said as he stepped in, "Storm meant well."
Everyone looked at the recruit before it dawned on them.
"Wait... you knew?!" Arcee exclaimed.
Sierra sighed as she stepped forward. "I knew too."
The other kids gaped at her.
"W-what?" Jack asked in shock.
"Dude!" Miko exclaimed.
Stormracer immediately spoke up to defend Sierra and Smokescreen. "Please don't be mad at them," she pleaded, "I asked them not to say anything. They wanted me to tell the truth, honest."
"I can't believe you kept this from us!" Bumblebee bleeped, "I thought we were your friends!"
"You are my friends!" Stormracer said.
"Then why lie to us?!" Bulkhead asked angrily.
"Of all the foolish things you have done," Ratchet added, "And what's worse is that you grew feelings for him! A Decepticon!"
The femme already had tears welling up in her optics. "I'm sorry," she softly apologized.
"Sorry doesn't cut it!" her boss snapped, "what you did was inexcusable! And what hurts the most is that you did it behind our backs!"
Stormracer lowered her helm again as a tear rolled down her cheek. "I wanted to tell you all. Trust me, I did."
"Trust you?" Arcee asked as she folded her arms, "after what you did... it's going to be a long time before we can trust you again."
Her words stabbed the femme through the spark. She looked up at the team. All but Smokescreen and Sierra each had a look of hurt and anger on their faces. Even Optimus looked at her with disappointment. To her, his expression was the worst.
"Prime!" Agent Fowler's voice spoke through the computer.
Everyone turned their attention away from the femme to see the liaison on the screen.
"The Pentagons preparing to go depth con one. I need to know what we're dealing with."
"To what do you refer, Agent Fowler?" Optimus asked.
"Maybe you should step outside and see for yourselves," the agent told him.
"Ratchet, Stormracer, watch the children," The Prime ordered.
Everyone glanced at one another as they wondered what was going on.
After the bots went up top, Stormracer looked at her boss who was still clearly upset. "Ratchet, please let me exp-"
"Don't!" he said angrily as he turned away from her, "you said enough."
Stormracer sadly looked down. She had never felt so ashamed of herself before in her life.
Jack looked at Sierra with a frown. "I can't believe you kept this from us."
"I promised not to say anything," the red head argued, "besides, it had to come from her, not me."
"So, we had to hear it from Megatron?" Miko asked, "I can't believe she's even interested in Knock Out. The guy kidnapped us for crying out loud!"
Stormracer vented as she folded her arms and looked away. "It's okay, Miko. After what happened today... I don't ever want to see him again."
(Up top)
Taking the elevator, the team made their way up top to see what the commotion was about. What they saw shocked them to the core.
Standing in the middle of Jasper was a large Cybertronian fortress. It was so tall it nearly touched the sky.
The bots stepped forward as Agent Fowler arrived via helicopter. Landing the helicopter down, the liaison jumped out and ran towards the bots as they stared at the fortress.
"Megatron has managed to accomplish the first phase of his cyberforming of Earth," Optimus said, "the construction of his fortress."
"In Jasper, Nevada," Fowler said in disbelief, "I don't get it. I already had the town evacuated. Why here?"
"Look!" Bumblebee bleeped as he pointed forward.
Everyone looked to see the Nemesis coming into view. Flying in front of the tower, it turned around to face the bots as it hovered in the air.
Optimus frowned. "Because the Decepticons have discovered the location of our base."
(The Nemesis)
With the Autobots in their sights, Megatron and the others stood on top the Nemesis as the Decepticon leader gave a speech.
"Our opportunity to restore Cybertron has been lost, due to the treachery of Optimus Prime!" he shouted, "but from our fortress of New Kaon, we will instead seize control of this world!" He turned to face his vehicon fliers who were now sporting silver and black colors. "DECEPTICONS, TRANSFORM AND RISE UP!"
All the cons raised their fists up, ready to serve their master.
"I'd thought he'd never ask!" Starscream said enthusiastically. He and the fliers transformed into their flight modes and took off towards the autobot base. "COME MY ARMADA!" the SIC shouted, "ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTAAAACK!"
(Autobot Base)
The bots immediately leaped out of the way as the Decepticon fliers fired and swooped down at them. Seeing the insecticons flying for them as well, the bots activated their weapons and returned fire. Some of the insecticons managed to land next to the bots, only to be taken out one by one.
Optimus fought back with the Star Saber. With one large swing, he sent a huge wave of energy towards the incoming insecticons. The wave hit them, destroying them all. But it wasn't long before they were replaced with fliers who continued firing. It was no use. They were outnumbered.
"Autobots, into the base!" Optimus ordered.
The team rushed to the elevator before Bulkhead noticed Agent Fowler getting into his helicopter.
"Fowler, what are you doing?!" the wrecker asked.
"My job, two-ton," the human said as he started up the chopper.
The hatch closed as the bots descended back down into the base. Once in the air, Fowler faced the enemy and fired the helicopter's gun at them. But the cons only flew past him, only focusing on the base itself.
(Inside the Base)
Back inside the main hangar, Stormracer, Ratchet, and the kids felt the room shake as they heard loud noises coming from outside. Dust fell from the ceiling as they nervously looked around.
"What's happening?!" Jack asked.
"Nothing good," Sierra guessed.
The group looked to see the others returning from outside.
"What is going on out there?" Ratchet asked them.
"The Decepticons have invaded Jasper," Optimus responded.
"And Fowler thinks he can hold them off," Bulkhead added.
Miko looked at Stormracer. "What did you do, tell Doc Knock our location?!"
"What?! No!" the femme argued, "I would never!"
"Well, they know where we are now!" Bumblebee bleeped.
"What about Jasper's civilians?" Stormracer asked, "are they-"
"Fowler had them evacuated," Smokescreen assured her, "though I think we're the ones in the most trouble right now."
The team flinched as the base shook again. The attack was getting worse. It wasn't long before Agent Fowler's voice spoke through the communications unit.
"Prime! Reinforcements have arrived!" he reported.
Optimus shook his head, knowing human reinforcements against the Decepticons will only result in casualties. "Agent Fowler, your military cannot prevail against the-"
"You didn't think I was going to let Team Prime have all the fun, did ya?" another voice joined in through the comm unit.
Bulkhead's optics widened as he happily laughed. "Haha, its Jacky!"
Everyone was surprised to hear the wrecker had come to their aid.
"Wheeljack!" Ratchet said, "but how did y-"
Wheeljack's face appeared on the screen as he spoke to them. "I picked up a strange energy surge. Hope you don't mind the company."
"No, it's just that after everything, well..."
"We're still on the same team, Doc," Wheeljack told the medic, "Always will be."
The bots heard the wrecker firing at the cons before the call cut.
"Will Wheeljack and Fowler be alright?" Stormracer asked worryingly.
Optimus turned around and looked at the groundbridge. "Ratchet, prepare to bridge everyone out of here."
"We're abandoning the base?" the medic asked.
Optimus turned back around to look at his team. "The base is lost. Wheeljack and Agent Fowler can only by us time to escape. Bumblebee, Rafael, you will depart first."
"Wait, what?" Bumblebee bleeped.
"You're splitting us up?" Raf asked.
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Sierra asked.
"Yeah," Jack said, "shouldn't we stick together?"
"All for one and one for all?" Miko added.
"We must disperse to avoid capture, until we can regroup and launch a counterattack," the prime explained, "survival is our only priority now."
No one was keen on the idea of abandoning the base, but their leader was right. Having no choice, they prepared to evacuate.
(The Nemesis)
Megatron, Soundwave, and Knock Out remained up top as they watched the troops attacking the autobot base. Even with the bot's reinforcements, Team Prime didn't stand a chance.
Knock Out silently prayed, hoping Stormracer wouldn't get hurt.
Soon Megatron contacted the vehicons in the bridge. "Prepare the cannon. We will destroy the base with the Autobots inside."
Knock Out's optics widened soon as he heard the order. "Wait, WHAT?! Shouldn't we give them the chance to surrender?!"
"The Autobots have interfered with my plans for far too long," the Decepticon leader said, "it's time they face the consequences for their defiance. All of them."
Fear struck Knock Out as he looked down at the Autobot base. He pleadingly looked back up at his leader. "But she's down there!"
Megatron only glanced down at him, showing he did not care whatsoever. "So?"
Knock Out's optics widened at his leader's response.
"Be grateful that you're not down there with her, Knock Out," Megatron said. He moved towards the bow of the ship to get a better look of the show.
Knock Out felt like an idiot. Megatron never intended to keep Stormracer alive. His mind was racing as he stepped away. She was going to be killed.
No! No, she won't!
He angrily narrowed his optics at the Decepticon leader. Deciding to take matters into his own servos, he turned around and darted for the door.
Unknown to Knock Out, Soundwave glanced over his shoulder as he watched the doctor disappear inside the ship.
(Autobot Base)
The kids immediately rushed to their guardians. Arcee, Bumblebee, Bulkhead, and Stormracer were already in their vehicle forms as their charges climbed in/on.
As instructed, Bumblebee and Raf were the first to depart. Once they had left, Bulkhead and Miko were next.
Arcee looked at Stormracer who had Sierra sitting in her passenger seat. She couldn't help but have her doubts. "Not sure it's a good idea for Sierra to be with Stormracer," she bitterly said, "she might try and reach out to her mechfriend."
Smokescreen frowned as he stepped forward. "You know very well Stormracer won't let anything happen to Sierra!" he argued.
"Smokescreen, it's okay," Stormracer told him. She looked at the motorcycle. "I know I messed up, but I will never put Sierra in danger like that. That you can trust."
Arcee huffed. "And yet I struggle to."
The base shook from the ongoing attack outside, reminding them all they were running out of time.
"We have no time to quarrel!" Optimus told them.
Soon after Bulkhead and Miko evacuated, Arcee and Stormracer pulled up towards the groundbridge.
Sierra and Jack looked at one another. Both didn't have time to say anything to each other. All they could do was both share a worried look. Sierra wanted to say something, out of fear she may never have the chance.
"Stormracer, Sierra, you will depart next," Optimus spoke.
Stormracer watched as Ratchet put in a new set of coordinates. He glanced at his assistant with worry. But Stormracer could tell he was still hurt as he looked away. Her spark sank as she brought her focus to the bridge. Once the coordinates were set, Stormracer and Sierra drove through the portal, leaving the base one last time.
(The Nemesis)
Inside the warship's bridge, the vehicons were waiting for the word to fire the cannon. They could see the base within their target sites. It was only a matter of time. Finally, their master's voice came through.
"Fire."
The vehicon went to press the button. But before he could, a blast hit him from behind, killing him as he fell to the floor. The other vehicons were shocked by this. Turning around, they saw Knock Out standing there with his energon staff out. He glared at them as his red optics glowed brightly.
"Anyone who tries to push that button joins him," he threatened.
(Autobot Base)
Next to depart, Smokescreen saluted Optimus before transforming into vehicle mode. He then took off through the groundbridge, leaving only just Optimus and Ratchet left.
The base continued shaking as the medic looked at the Prime. "What about you?"
"I will ensure that the Decepticons cannot follow," Optimus responded.
Ratchet's optics widened. He didn't want to leave his leader behind. But he knew the Prime had made up his mind. Setting up coordinates for himself, he walked past Optimus towards the bridge.
"Ratchet."
The medic stopped in front of the blue portal, but kept his back turned.
"Stormracer was wrong in seeing Knock Out without telling us," Optimus said, "but she did it because she saw someone in need. She is still one of us."
Ratchet listened to his words but kept silent. He sadly looked at the floor. "I... never imagined it would end like this." He then transformed and drove off, leaving Optimus alone.
A sad look appeared on Optimus' face as the groundbridge deactivated. "Neither did I, old friend." Looking at the groundbridge controls, he balled his servo into a fist. He had to make sure the Decepticons didn't go after his team. Even if it meant him getting captured... or killed.
(The Nemesis)
Meanwhile, the vehicons were already firing their blasters at the Decepticon medic.
Knock Out fired back as he dodged their attacks. Some of the vehicons even ran over to apprehend him. Those who got near were immediately electrocuted by the staff. One vehicon tried grabbing the doctor from behind, only for Knock Out to notice him.
Activating his buzzsaw, Knock Out spun around and sliced into the vehicon's chest plate, offlining him. He tucked and rolled out of the way of another vehicon before slicing the con's blaster clean off. He then kicked the vehicon back into two other vehicons, knocking them down. He fired at two other cons, offlining them before using his staff to knock the third one to the ground. His staff sparking with electricity, he went to strike the con... only to feel something latch onto his back.
Knock Out released a painful cry as electricity coursed through his body, making him drop his weapon. Soon he fell to the floor, revealing Soundwave standing behind him. The intelligence officer had one of his tentacles out, having used it to subdue the red con.
Knock Out weakly groaned as pain coursed through him. He then grunted as two vehicons seized him by the arms and forced him onto his knees. He tried to fight back but was too weak from Soundwave's attack.
With the doctor now restrained, Soundwave made his way over to the console.
Knock Out's optics fearfully widened when he saw Soundwave heading for the button. "No!" He tried to break free from the vehicons' hold, only for them to tighten their grip. "Don't do this!"
Soundwave didn't listen. Instead, he pushed the button, firing up the cannon.
"NO!" Knock Out cried out.
The cannon was activated as it charged up. Within seconds, it fired down... right onto the autobot base.
Knock Out was devastated as he stared at the explosion on the screen. The base was reduced to rubble in only a matter of seconds. There was no chance anyone could have survived.
Tears welled up in his optics as he looked at the fiery destruction. Anguish consumed him. He had failed.
"Stormracer," he whispered.
He snapped out of it when Soundwave approached him. Before Knock Out could react, the silent con brought his pede up and kicked the red con square in the face. Soon everything went black.
(Somewhere in the States)
Stormracer didn't stop driving as she went down the road. She was surrounded by trees and mountains with not a car in sight. The sky was covered in dark grey clouds as thunder rumbled above.
Sierra looked at their surroundings as they sped by the trees. She couldn't help but worry about everyone else. "The others will be okay, right?" she asked her guardian, "everything's going to be okay... right?"
Stormracer remained silent. She was having a difficult time trying to keep herself together. So much had happened in such a short amount of time. She didn't know what they were going to do... or if they'll ever see the others again.
"Storm?"
Stormracer looked at her charge. The girl was on the verge of tears herself. Remembering she was the girl's guardian, she tried to comfort her.
"E-everything will be okay," she said quietly. But even she didn't believe her own words.
The two remained quiet as the femme drove, the thunder rumbling ominously in the sky.
And that was the last chapter of Season 2! Yes, Knock Out and Stormracer broke up, but don't worry, it won't be for long, I promise.
I am so excited for Season 3. We get to see the return of a character everyone's been asking about; plus, other characters who will make an appearance, plus we'll explore more on Stormracer's past. There will definitely be a big change, but I plan to stick with Season 3's storyline. Don't worry, everything works out in the end.
Also, just saw Transformers One and loved it! Saw it twice already lol. It actually made me think up a character for if I want to do a fanfiction on Transformers One. Would you guys like me to do a Transformers One story with an OC? Let me know in the reviews if I should or not.
Thank you all for reading and hopefully it won't take me so long to post the next chapter. Feel free to leave a review and let me know what your favorite moment in season 2 was. Until next time! God bless!
