Chapter 22 Sunrise

Johnny had left Dracula to do some solo exploring of the hotel and had managed to locate some stairs that lead up to the roof. He found a good spot to take a seat and took in the nice view of the surrounding area. Dracula really knew how to pick a good location for the hotel. Not only was it in a secluded area, but it had a really nice view. Johnny was enjoying himself when he heard some approaching footsteps and turned to see Mavis coming onto the roof.
"Hey Mavis, what's up?" Asked Johnny.
"Hey Johnny, I'm doing good. Just got a bit of good advice from my mother." Said Mavis.
"Emily?" Asked Johnny.
"No, my biological mother. She left me a gift for my 118th birthday. It really helped me figure some stuff out." Said Mavis.
"That's nice. And I just want to say...I'm sorry for what happened to your mom. Your dad told me what happened and it's really messed up, what the humans did to her and what they tried to do to Emily." Said Johnny.
"Hey...it's ok. That happened a long time ago and you had nothing to do with that. You don't need to apologize for that." Said Mavis.
"Ok. So what exactly did you want to talk about?" Asked Johnny.
"I want to say I love you and it doesn't matter to me that you're human. I love you for you not what you are." Said Mavis.
"I love you too. It doesn't matter that you're a monster. I know the real you." Said Johnny.
The two looked at one another and smiled. Mavis then noticed the sun was about to rise.
"We need to head inside the sun is about to rise and you know vampires and sun don't mix." Said Mavis.
"Wait a second, have you ever seen a sunrise?" Asked Johnny.
"I've see the sunset, but never rise." Admitted Mavis.
"You know what, I got an idea. Time for you to see your first sunrise." Said Johnny as he took Mavis's hand and pointed to the rising sun.
Mavis watched in awe as the sun rose up into the sky and as she watched Johnny carefully lead her into the protective shadow of one of the chimneys on the roof, where both he and Mavis could get to the stairs.
"That was actually really beautiful." Said Mavis.
"It was and I'm glad I got to share this with you." Said Johnny.
The two smiled at each other, but before they could say or do anything the roof beneath Johnny suddenly gave in and he fell into the sauna below. Luckily for Johnny a Jell-O-like blob monster named Blobby was using the sauna and he broke Johnny's fall without suffering any form of injuries.
"You alright Johnny?" Called Mavis looking down through the hole.
"I'm fine. Blobby caught me. Thanks Blobby." Said Johnny to Blobby who gave Johnny a thumbs up.
"I'll meet you in the lobby." Called Mavis.
"Cool meet you there." Said Johnny.
Johnny headed out of the sauna and started to mak his way to the lobby, when he found himself facing Quasimodo and Esmeralda.
"Sup?" Said Johnny in a friendly manner.
Quasimodo sniffed the air loudly and his eyes narrowed at Johnny.
"The human scent is coming from you! You're no monster! You're a human!" Snarled Quasimodo.
Before Johnny could do or say anything Quasimodo leaped onto him with a rope and tied him up chuckling evilly.
"Of the guests are going to love this! Human is on the menu for today!" Declared Quasimodo as he gaged Johnny.
