Hey guys, a new chapter is out. This chapter will be filled with happy and sad moments. I do have to give out a trigger warning about suicide and adult themes. Enjoy.
Bellamys Pov.
Bellamy surprised everyone, including himself, when he embraced Valerie. Bellamy shared a look with Clarke and Finn; Red had seemed to take the blame for Charlotte's death all over herself, something he could relate to with Jaha's death.
"Come on now, red, let's get going." Bellamy only stated while Valerie nodded.
"Wait, let's search Charlotte's body and backpack first, " Valerie said. Bellamy raised his eyebrows but nodded. Valerie searched Charlotte's body pockets and found a piece of note and some charcoal. Valerie looked at the writing, sighed, and handed the note to Bellamy. Clarke approached and looked at the piece of paper.
"So that's where that missing page went from my book." She murmured. Bellamy looked at the note and started reading the words out loud.
"I'm sorry. I'm not making wrong choices anymore."
"I had to cut her down the tree…" Finn continued sadly. Clarke put a hand on his shoulder and steeled herself.
"As sad as this is, we need to get her buried and let Murphy and the others know they can stop looking," Clarke said and began lifting her. Bellamy, Finn and Valerie helped, and they walked back to camp. Bellamy stole a glance at Valerie. She had stopped crying, but she seemed deep in thought. Bellamy didn't know why he wanted to know what she was thinking, which drove him crazy.
Regular Pov.
Arriving back at the camp, the group noticed everyone huddled around something. Wells was speaking to the camp and hadn't seen them.
"We can't let this stop us. Trina and Pascal deserved better, but this proves we're stronger together," Wells confidently said. As he spoke, he noticed the group carrying Charlotte. His eyes instantly widened in recognition as he rushed over to the group.
"Are you back…and with Charlotte?" Wells asked. Everyone turned around, and several of the delinquents who knew Charlotte gasped. Valerie fought back her tears.
"Wells, can you help me with her?" Valerie asked. Wells nodded without hesitation. Bellamy stepped in front of Valerie.
"I'm helping, " he said, carrying Charlotte's body. Wells looked at Valerie, confused.
"what's that about?" He asked. Valerie looked up at him in confusion.
"The day I can understand Bellamy is the day hell freezes over." Valerie gave a sarcastic reply. She looked over at the other bodies.
"Let's give them all a good funeral." She only stated.
After the funeral, Murphy had his first best idea since, well, forever. Montey had boatloads of homemade booze stored around. Murphy proposed a memorial drinking in honour of the dead. Nobody disagreed with him, so the large bonfire was remade, and the party started.
Valerie sat at a log by the bonfire, deep in thought. Charlotte's death was her fault. She knew that day with the river that something was wrong with the kid, but she never seriously thought she would do something like this. And that was her mistake.
"Hey Johnson, you with us? They're gonna see who can drink the most booze!" Montey exclaimed. Valerie was about to decline before she saw the contest: Bellamy, Wells, Murphy, Mbege and Harper.
"You know what, count me in on the competition," Valerie said and rose to join in on the competition, needing a distraction. Bellamy's eyebrows dramatically widened.
"No way red can keep up," Bellamy smirked and downed his first cup. Wells, Murphy, Mbege and Harper downed theirs. Valerie grabbed the cup from Bellamy, filled it from the open barrel filled with booze and downed it in seconds. Jasper came outside from the shuttle, covered in a large blanket. He looked around the camp and decided to watch the competition.
"Don't underestimate me, boy toy," Valerie smirked and wiped her mouth. Bellamy's eyes widened. A crowd had gathered around them, watching with interest.
"Is this a challenge, I hear?" Bellamy laughed mockingly, ignoring the nickname. He proceeded to fill his cup and drank it again, wiping his mouth. The drinking proceeded a few rounds before it was Wells's turn.
"Don't underestimate me either," Wells slurred his words. Murphy enthusiastically agreed and filled his cup. As he took a sip, his face turned green, and he ran away, vomiting. Harper and Mbege had dozed off on the ground nearby. Montey stood on a makeshift podium.
"It's down to the last three. Who are we making bets on? Who will win: Flaming Red, Daring Wells or bossy Bellamy? Place your vote with me!" Montey explained with a commentator's voice.
"Of course, my brother gonna win, guys. Give it up." Octavia cheered with some of the others.
"My vote goes to Johnson," Clarke yelled, with a laugh coming from her and Finn sitting nearby, drunk and giggling. Jasper hollered from the entrance of the shuttle.
"Only the Chancellors son can win this. Place my vote on Wells." A voice came from the crowd.
Valerie laughed. Cheeks flushed. Bellamy hiccupped but smirked and gave his cup to Valerie.
"Nowz your turn flaming red." Bellamy almost lost the cup while handing it over. Valerie filled it up and drank it in one go. The crowd watched in anticipation as she stumbled but cheered when she raised her hands.
"I'm still in losers." She laughed and looked at Wells challengingly. Wells laughed and pulled his hands up in defeat.
"I'm gonna go barf or something." Wells slurred and stumbled away from the competition. Some in the crowd booed.
"Ooooh and Wells are out with ten votes. Now it's between flaming red and bossy Bellamy." Montey gave Valerie a new cup.
"Now, lightning round!" The crowd cheered. Bellamy glanced at Valerie, laughing.
"Now's your time to back out." Bellamy slurred. Valerie met his gaze and lowered her voice.
"No way, I'm gonna get you for pulling a gun on me." She smirked, and Bellamy narrowed his eyes in challenge. He proceeded to down the cup in seconds.
"Your turn red." He dared. Valerie drank her cup and gave him a smirk.
"You were saying?"
Bellamy filled his cup again.
"I can last all night, darling."
Valerie filled her cup but couldn't bear bringing it to her lips. Everyone noticed her hesitation and began to chant.
"Drink, drink, drink."
Valerie gathered her courage and drank her entire cup. Everyone cheered. Bellamy watched incredulously. But he gathered his courage before he filled the cup up. Unlike Valerie, however, he stumbled and fell flat on his face.
"We have a winner, everyone! Flaming Red takes the win for tonight with 30 votes on her." Montey raised one of Valerie's arms like a boxer winning a match. Everyone laughed and went back to the party. Valerie only stumbled for a moment before her world went black, and she fell to the ground beside Bellamy.
-Right before dawn, six hours later.
A shuttle pierced the atmosphere like a blazing ball of light. Clarke and Finn lay under the stars, but both stirred at the sound. They exchanged glances before rousing the others. Clarke discovered Wells dozing in his tent.
"Get up. Someone is coming from the ark." Clarke woke Wells, who groaned and sat up.
"Yeah, I'll gather everyone. Do you know where Val went?" Wells asked Clarke, who only looked at him confused.
"Isn't she at her tent?" She asked.
"If she is, I never heard her arrive."
-At Bellamy's tent.
Bellamy and Valerie lay sprawled under his covers, both snoring. Valerie's head rested in Bellamy's arm nook, and Bellamy's hand rested on her hip. The moment was peaceful before Clarke marched into Bellamy's tent, startling the pair.
"Oh my god, I'm sorry." Clarke laughed and stormed out. The pair awoke with a crash, with Valerie stumbling out of the bed, eyes wide, matching Bellamy's.
"Did we...?!" Valerie asked furiously while dressing. Bellamy gave her a look.
"You would think I would remember something like that?!" He shouted back and got dressed. The pair paused for a moment.
"Let's not speak of it again." Valerie decided. Bellamy nodded.
"Agreed."
Clarke stood outside the tent with a small smile, avoiding looking inside. Bellamy and Valerie emerged, avoiding eye contact. Bellamy crossed his arms.
"What's going on?" He asked. Clarke pointed towards where the shuttle landed.
"Someone came from the ark. We need to check it out," Clarke said. Bellamy shook his head.
"Let's gather the others," Bellamy said and went inside the camp shuttle.
Wells, Finn, Murphy, Mbege, Harper, Monty, Clarke, Octavia, Bellamy and Valerie gathered inside the shuttle.
"If it's someone from the ark, we must check it out," Clarke said,
"it's not safe right now; we head out at first light," Bellamy ordered. Everyone seemed to agree. Wells stepped forward.
"Everyone for a hundred miles saw that shuttle. Don't you think we have to check that out?" Wells asked. Bellamy only nodded.
"We should, but we don't know the woods. And in this dark, we should wait until light. I'm sure they can manage until we get there." Bellamy said. Everyone was too tired and hungover to complain—everyone except Valerie. After everyone returned to bed, Valerie snuck out of the camp and headed towards the shuttle. A throbbing headache filled her head.
"I'm never drinking again" " she told herself. As she approached the shuttle, she heard an annoyed sigh behind her.
"Can't you do what you're told for once, red?" Bellamy approached her angrily. Valerie narrowed her eyes and faced him.
"Don't you think it's stupid to let that person from Ark fend for themselves when there's a whole group of grounders around here?" Valerie challenged.
"And besides, do you think I can trust you?" Valerie continued. Bellamy groaned and stepped closer. Valerie felt his hot breath on her as he snarled at her.
"You drive me crazy red, you know that?" Valerie took a step back, suddenly very aware. Bellamy only followed until her back met a tree.
"Everywhere I look, you're always there. Why is that?" His voice was low as he played with Valerie's hair. Valerie pushed him away.
"Don't try playboy, I'm not falling for it. I'm going whether you like it or not. So, are you coming or not?" Valerie asked, her tone final. Bellamy's eyes widened for a moment before he sighed.
"Fine," Bellamy answered with a snarl.
As they neared the small rocket, they heard voices coming from it.
"Pod one, pod one, this is Ark Station Medical. If you are receiving, please respond." Valerie approached the rocket and opened the door. Inside, she found an unconscious woman.
"Hey, wake up." Valerie shook her shoulder. The woman stirred awake with a grasp of pain. She looked around, momentarily confused, before taking off her helmet.
"Shit, you're covered in blood." Valerie gasped. The woman looked at her.
"Hi…I made it?" the woman asked. Valerie nodded and helped her out of her suit and rocket, and the woman took her first steps outside the rocket. The morning sun had just begun to creep up the horizon, basking the area in a peaceful glow. She looked around her with an amazed expression, laughing. The voices from the radio inside the rocket interrupted her moment.
Bellamy stood in the background, fuming over something Valerie couldn't quite place. The woman stepped inside the rocket again and answered the call.
"This is pod one, I repeat, pod one. I made it. We are alive." She said with a laugh. Valerie turned to Bellamy.
"Mind telling me what's up with you?" Valerie asked. Bellamy looked up at the sky momentarily before deciding to tell the truth.
"I killed someone up on the ark." He finally told her. Valerie looked at him with incredulous eyes.
"Who?"
"Jaha", He said, his voice absolute.
The woman from earlier approached them once more and placed her hands on her hips, exuding confidence.
"Hey, thanks for helping me. I'm Raven Reyes." Raven introduced herself. Valerie's eyes widened.
"You're that, Raven?" Valerie asked in disbelief. Raven smiled with confidence.
"One and the only."
"Johnson, Valerie Johnson." She shook raven hands with both hands. Raven only laughed. Raven turned to Bellamy.
"So, pretty boy, mind telling me why you mentioned Jaha?" Raven asked. Bellamy snapped up at her.
"The fact that I killed him, yeah, I guess the story's out now." He spoke. Raven laughed.
"If he's dead, that's news to me, " she answered. Bellamy and Valerie's eyes widened as Bellamy stepped forward, but Clarke interrupted them by running to see what was happening.
"Hey! What's going on here!" Clarke joined the group. Before they could talk, another voice engulfed the forest.
"Raven!" Finn's voice came from behind her, with Wells following suit right behind him.
"Finn!" Raven shouted in excitement and ran towards him. She cupped her hands to his face.
"I knew you couldn't be dead." She answered.
Valerie looked at Wells, who was joining the group, and gave him a small wave.
Valeries attention turned back to Raven and Finn kissing. And at Clarke's bewildered expression.
"Oh no!" Valerie exclaimed in a low whisper. Raven stumbled for a moment before Finn helped her to a rock. Valerie turned away from the pair toward Bellamy and Wells.
"Maybe you should talk to each other. You know, talk about why you tried killing Wells's father?" Valerie said, with Bellamy giving her a look. Wells stepped in front of her.
"You did what now?" Wells asked with a low voice. Bellamy chuckled nervously before he and Wells stepped aside to talk.
Valerie approached the trio.
"This is Clarke. She was on the dropship, too." Finn explained. Raven stood up, holding a piece of cloth to her forehead.
"Clarke? This was all because of your mom." Raven said. Clarke had a confused look on her face.
"Mom?"
"This was all her plan. We were trying to come down here together. We couldn't wait because the council was voting whether to kill 300 people to save air."
"When?" Clarke asked.
"It was supposed to be today, but I contacted the ark before you arrived."
"That's insane", Finn exclaimed.
"Well, it makes sense, giving the Ark…" Valerie nodded gravely. Everyone gave a relieved sigh. Clarke looked at Raven.
"Is it possible to contact my mom?" Clarke asked. Raven nodded.
"Yeah, but give me some time, and I'll set up a screen so you can see her." Raven nodded, went back to the rocket, and gathered all the important parts. Then, Raven handed the radio to Valerie.
"Hold this for me," Raven ordered, Brimming with purpose.
"Where's your camp?" Raven asked. Valerie only pointed.
"Shouldn't we worry for Bellamy, you know, currently in a fight?" Finn asked, looking back at the pair. Valerie only shook her head and patted his shoulder.
"My my, playboy. You have worse things to worry for; besides, they'll make up." She laughed at Finn's deadpan, looking at the two women in his life before him, talking and laughing. Clarke looked back at him with a serious look before she turned back to Raven, smiling. Valerie joined the girls, talking.
Finn gathered himself before following.
-At the ark.
Diana seethed in her office. This was supposed to help her regain power, and that Reyes girl had to go and ruin everything. There was only one solution to this. Diana approached her old friend at the farm station. He was a talented teacher sitting with some of his colleagues at the table.
"Pike, can I talk to you?" Diana smiled at him. Pike only gave the others a look before they dispersed.
"Sydney. What can I do for you?" He leaned in.
"You've ever wanted to go to the ground?" Diana whispered and looked at him with a sly expression. Pike looked around for a moment before he leaned in, expression serious.
"What you need?" He spoke. Diana smiled.
"There is only one small favour." She whispered the next part really low.
"I need you to make bombs and lots of them."
And that's a new chapter wrapped. Is anyone curious about Pike yet? And where is Alaric? A mystery indeed. *Laughs in author*
