Hello, here is a new story in an attempt to get back into writing! It's a Fate/Danmachi crossover with an OC (not a self-insert) it is also a gender bender. Let me know how you like it.
I obviously don't own Fate or Danmachi...
Jason couldn't keep himself from stumbling as he made his way down the street. "God dammit" he swore in his new, high-pitched voice, as he stubbed his toe on an uneven part of the cobblestone road.
"This has to be the worst night of my life!" Jason angrily muttered to himself hopping to the side of the road and leaning against the building. Lifting his foot he started to rub his aching toe.
Apparently, the dream of every weeb just happened to him. He found himself waking up in an alleyway, in the middle of the night. It took Jason all of a minute to walk out and see a freaking elf to know that he was isekaid into another world. Not only that but his body was transformed, leaving him with barely any clothes, and no shoes. Oh and did he mention the voice in his head?
'Language!' The male voice, most certainly not mine, scolded me. 'A lady such as yourself should not use such foul words.'
Looking at the window next to him Jason could barely make out his reflection in the glass thanks to the glowing street light just a few feet down the road.
He no longer looked like the 16-year-old brown hair, browned-eyed boy He used to be. Now Jason looked like a 16-year-old girl with long silver blonde hair, wide green eyes, heart-shaped facial features, wearing a dress that was really no more of the slip, barefooted, and-
Reaching up Jason patted his chest with his left hand watching the reflection copy his actions as he checked a second time, a pair of modest-sized breasts. Honestly, they appeared to be the perfect size for his much smaller frame.
Taking his hands off his newly grown breasts Jason almost checked his groin for his manhood again instead of that feminine slit and then hesitated for a moment. No, he didn't want to be chewed out by the voice for checking that again.
The last of the notable changes was Jason's right arm. What used to be an arm of flesh and blood was now an arm of a silver-colored metal.
"That's the issue," Jason whispered knowing that the voice knew what he was saying from previous experience. "I'm not supposed to be a girl. I'm supposed to be a 16-year-old boy with brown hair."
'what-' the voice started to ask before Jason interrupted it.
"And this is not my world."
There was a moment of silence before the voice spoke again.
'Well, I suppose this is a bit of a problem then.'
If anyone were to ask me how Jason got into this situation he would respond with an emphatic "I have no idea!" Then he would quickly follow up with "It wasn't my fault, blame Truck-kun."
You see Jason was on his way home one evening after finishing up a shift at his part-time job at the supermarket. Walking up to a street corner he stopped to wait for the crosswalk sign to turn on. While doing so Jason took out his phone and turned on a mobile gotcha game that will not be named. It was then that a car horn started blaring.
Jason had just enough time to look up from my phone to see the headlights of a semi-truck bearing down on me when all went dark.
The next thing Jason knew it felt like he was floating in a sea, everything was dark and multiple things that Jason could not identify were rushing past him. No, they were not rushing past me, it was I who was moving past them at high speeds. Jason realized
It almost felt like he was a torpedo that was shot through water.
Then Jason was hit by something. At the time he didn't know what, but now, after the appearance of that voice, Jason could easily guess. It felt like the thing ripped straight through his body and collided with Jason's soul. Immediately after Jason felt like some hand, as if it was a deity, started kneading him and that object together as if they were playdough, two similar, yet very different colors of playdough.
It wasn't painful, matter of fact it felt kinda good, it was a relieving sensation as if Jason was a balloon that was suddenly filled to the breaking point, and then suddenly he was changed to allow it all to fit. It felt like sore, cramped muscles suddenly massaged to instant relief.
'What is going on?' Jason thought to myself as his body was molded into a new shape. At least at the time, he was thinking that. It was rather difficult to see because everything around him was pitch black as if he was at the bottom of the sea.
Then a suddenly overwhelming jolt of pain in Jason's right arm. As if it got ripped off and then something got grafted and then fused to his very soul at that spot. Causing him to pass out from the pain.
And that is how Jason arrived where he was now, in the middle of a medieval-looking city, with a voice in his head, his right arm missing with a silver prosthesis replacing it, and looking like a girl.
"Am I going crazy?" Jason asked with a sigh.
At the voice's silence, he stared at himself for a moment longer. Jason could almost swear that he looked like Sir Bedivere from the Fate series. The issue of course was that he was now a girl. 'Of course, this is the Fate series I am thinking about and there is that risk, but it does make clear that even though Sir Bedivere looks feminine he is a man.' Jason thought to himself.
Giving a second sigh he turned away from the darkened window and continued to wander down the street.
"So am I going crazy or am I being possessed and this voice inside my head is actually real?" Jason questioned out loud.
'I'm real,' the voice responded with a long-suffering sigh. 'And before you ask I don't know how this happened. I am still trying to figure it out.'
His mind raced as Jason started idly humming to myself. 'I need to figure out what to do. By the looks of the building around me and the armored cat person walking down the opposite side of the road from me, I appear to be in some world that is currently in the high medieval age. No that's not quite right' Jason thought as he spotted one of the street lamps. 'Those types of light are more Victorian era.' Stopping underneath one of the lamps Jason had to get up on his tippy toes to get a better look. Damn this new height.
"That's neither gas nor electricity," Jason muttered sullenly to himself. "What is fueling it?"
'Magic.' His passenger spoke up. 'The lamp is powered by magic. I can feel it through you. This world is filled with it, it's like we are in the age of the gods.'
"Huh, how do you do that?"
'Feel the magic?'
Jason nodded, before realizing that the voice in his head may not be able to see him do that. Feeling his cheeks grow red Jason spoke "Cool, how do you sense the magic?"
'Everyone senses magic in different ways. Usually, it's through one of your 5 senses.' The man instructed. As he did so Jason could feel a sense of contentedness coming from him. 'Since when could I feel his emotions?'
'With you it's obvious is not through sight since everything looks pretty normal. Try closing your eyes and reaching out with your other senses.'
Huh, almost like how Shirou in Fate can sense magic through smell. Closing his eyes Jason tries to reach out with his various senses to detect the magic. He sat there a few minutes underneath the lamp unable to detect anything till the voice spoke up again. 'You need to accept all sensations, even the ones that make you feel uncomfortable. Stop ignoring them'
He was right, Jason was ignoring some things. He was ignoring the feelings that his body was giving off. Ever since he turned into a girl everything felt weird to the touch. His body felt off, his skin felt more sensitive, the length of his hair reaching the small of his back was odd, the wider hips, the change in how he stood and walk to compensate, the feeling of his new breasts and crotch was constantly poking at his attention. Even the feeling of the inside of his body was noticeably different.
Although from the knowledge Jason gained in his school health classes, that is probably because he has a womb and ovaries now.
Taking a deep breath Jason let these sensations hit him, and then he sorted through them to the sensations past it. The strange weight in the air which caressed his newly soft skin. Jason would say that it was an almost erotic feeling if it wasn't for the all-encompassing weight that came with it as if it wanted to smother him.
It was in that weight that Jason then detected a small caress, like a soft breeze against his skin. Mentally following the sensation he came up to the lamp itself, and somehow knew that whatever was powering it was inside that lamp.
"Huh, that is a weird feeling, sense of touch is how I detect it I suppose" Jason muttered as he opened his eyes.
'Good job.' The voice praises Jason.
Stepping away from the lamp he continued down the road as he tried to ignore the sensations his body was giving off again. Then Jason's stomach growled. He needed to figure out what to do.
"I need food and shelter." Jason announced aloud to the voice. "but the real question is how do I do that?"
Feeling nervous, but not yet panicked Jason continued speaking his thoughts aloud. "Shelter-wise, if necessary I could sleep in an alley. It is warm enough, but I would prefer not to."
'I would suggest hunting for food.' my passenger suggested 'I could help with that'
"There is a problem with that." Jason hummed "I would need a weapon, which I do not have."
At his words, Jason's passenger got suspiciously quiet. "I don't have a weapon, correct?" He prodded
Jason could feel how tense he was through the mental connection that they were speaking through, 'it was the same way I felt his emotions earlier.'
That's it, Jason had ignored the obvious question earlier, but now he needed to know. "Who are you anyway?"
"I don't know if I should answer that?" The voice said hesitantly.
"If I didn't know better I would guess Sir Bedivere from the Fate Series" Jason muttered in thought aloud "because I look a lot like him between the appearance and the arm."
Jason could feel the tension growing as he continued to speak. "The issue is that I am a girl now, which honestly I shouldn't look too much into because of the number of people Nasu gender bent…" I trailed off in thought before coming to a decision. "Are you Bedivere Prototype?"
'Prototype?' The voice asked with confusion.
"Yes, a female Sir Bedivere." Jason nodded feeling proud of myself before he froze "No you can't be, it doesn't explain the arm, which belongs to the Camelot singularity Bedivere, nor the male voice."
Not to mention Bedivere prototype technically doesn't exist.
'Very well, it appears I cannot hide.' The voice sighed in exasperation 'Yes, I am Sir Bedivere, I was hoping to hide it a little longer. How do you know these things?'
"Wait I am right!" Jason exclaimed in shock the frowned "Then how does this girl thing work out?"
Then a thought came to Jason's mind and he looked down at his new arm. "Does that mean this arm is also…"
Jason trailed off but what he was asking was quite clear to both of them.
"Yeah, the arm is Airgetlám. And I still have no idea about the girl thing."
" I guess we do have a weapon," Jason muttered feeling some excitement, ok not some, a lot of excitement. Honestly, who wouldn't want to have their own Noble Phantasm? Then chill hit Jason when he realized what that noble phantasm actually did. "But I don't know if I like the idea of using a weapon that uses my soul as energy to hunt for food."
Bedivere was silent but Jason could feel his agreement through their bond as he came up to a much larger road that intersects with the one he was on. Jason decided to turn and then came to a sudden stop at the sight of a familiar tower in front of him. "I recognize that place," he muttered in shocked recognition "That's the Tower of Babel!"
"The one from the Old Testament?" Bedivere asks, surprise coming across the bond. 'And you still have to explain to me how you knew who I was!'
"No, this is a different one, it's a tower from a book and anime series called Danmachi," Jason answered, feeling even more questions and confusion building up inside of him. "In regards to how I know about you? Heh, how do I explain that mess?"
'A game?' Bedivere asked in shocked surprise after Jason gave him a brief explanation of the Fate Franchise.
"Don't forget the anime, visual novels, light novels, mang-" Jason began feeling surprisingly mischievous.
'yeah, I get it. Someone kept records of my world for the amusement of a universe.' Bedivere interrupted with an exasperated huff. 'And what about this world? Is it the same?'
"For the most part." Jason with a shrug. While he was giving Bedivere the short explanation for Fate Series he walked up to the front of the Tower, and stopped a hundred feet in front of it. Craning his neck he looked up at the looming structure. "It was an anime and a light novel… I think. To be honest I don't know a lot about it."
Honestly, it wasn't the biggest structure he had seen, one summer during a vacation with his family to New York City he saw several skyscrapers that dwarfed this tower. But it didn't change the fact that this is a pretty big building.
Taking a couple of steps back to try to get a better view of the building he continued his explanation. "I binged the first season of the anime one day when doing some chores, but nothing more than that. I remember the basic premise and some lore but that's about it."
'I'm assuming that this tower is important?' Bedivere guessed.
"Yep, you see a long time ago the gods placed the tower here because underneath is some deep labyrinth that creates monsters called the dungeon. This tower is supposed the trap them inside. Eventually, gods from all religions got bored and decided to come to this side of the world in mortal bodies to have entertainment." I began a quick description. "They found that they could essentially adopt people into their family by sharing a part of their divinity. Then these people can go into this dungeon and kill monsters which allows them to get artificially more powerful."
Turning around to walk away from the tower Jason stepped on a particularly sharp rock causing another stream of expletives to exit his mouth. "God dammit, mother fu-"
'Language!' Sir Bedivere chastised him and he continued to swear. And then he sighed 'I supposed having you find shoes is another agenda on our list.'
"You don't say" Jason hissed sarcastically as he hesitantly put pressure back on the foot. "That's been on my list since I stubbed my toe"
'You know this world better than I. Do you have any ideas for what you could do for money?' Bedivere asked. As he did so Jason could feel his contemplation coming across their bond.
"That's easy, the dungeon is the solution." He instantly replied.
At Bediver's mental prompt, he continued. "The monsters in the dungeon all have a magical stone inside of them. There is a guild called, well the guild who buys these stones. The deeper you go the more the stones are worth."
'So we go into the dungeon, kill some monsters, and get their stones.' Bedivere finished, and somehow Jason got the image of the knight Nodding alongside him.
"Yep. But that brings us to one of the earlier issues. No weapon."
'That's an easy fix for temporarily.' Bedivere replied. 'We can go find a thick stick and use it as a club until we find an actual weapon. How strong are the monsters?'
"The deeper you go down the stronger they become, but on the first floor they are the same strength as a starting out level 1 adventurer," Jason replies, who then stops as he spots a fruit tree full of ripe apples. He didn't know if taking fruit off a tree was considered theft, but he was really hungry. Oh well, he could pay them back later. "You have an issue with me taking an apple or two?"
After a brief moment of thought, Sir Bedivere replied sending a mental shrug. 'No, you need the food, and a couple of missing apples will not hurt whoever owns this tree.'
As Jason reached up, having to stand on his tippy again. He once more cursed his new height.
'What is a level 1?'
"Huh?" Jason hummed out as he plucked an apple. "Oh, I can give a better description later, but think of it as a normal person without any mystical strength."
Getting a second apple he started making his way towards the edge of the city. "I'm pretty sure there are some run-down and abandoned houses at the edge of the city. Let's find one to squat in for the night. We can get to work tomorrow."
With that Jason and Bedivere started their new life in a world full of gods.
Please leave a review and let me know how it is!
