"Achoo!" Cat sneezed into his Kleenex, his face the picture of disgust as he tossed into the small trash bin, then pulled the pink blanket tighter around him. A cold was going through school, and of course, he had come to Marinette for comfort and she made an excellent nurse.
"Here you go, Kitty," Marinette re-entered the room with a tray of hot soup and toast. Though Cat was sick, the food looked delicious. "Thank you," he sniffled, taking the tray and spooning up the creamy chicken soup.
"I'm so happy I could kiss you," Cat mumbled through a mouthful of toast, spraying crumbs everywhere. Marinette turned. "Cat," her eyes were gentle but her voice was firm. "Just eat!" "Yes, Princess. Besides, I would get you sick if I kissed you."
Marinette giggled. Holding the bowl like that, Cat looked just like poor little Oliver, asking for more porridge. Cat licked his bowl clean, then yawned. "That was good, and now a little nap…." Cat was asleep before his head hit the pillow, and he begin to snore softly, one ear flapping and twitching as he dreamed.
A couple of days went by and Cat felt much better. Better enough to see his Princess, but when he climbed through her window….
"Guess who's sick?" Marinette coughed, and Cat saw her pink nose and the familiar box of tissues. "Never fear, Nurse Noir is here!" "Cat, I'm fine, really…" but Cat ignored her protests.
"I brought you your favorite, Princess! Pumpkin Spice!" "Thanks for coming, Cat, and for the coffee," Marinette smiled, wrapping her arms around the warm cup. Cat blushed, playing with his tail. "Anytime, Princess."
But Cat's words fell on deaf ears, Marinette had turned away, already asleep. Cat crept close, dropping a kiss on her forehead. "Sweet dreams, my love." Cat grinned wickedly as Marinette let out a snore.
It turns out, friends make great nurses, but as doing so, now Marinette were both sick!
"At least we're in this together, Kitty," Marinette coughed. Cat sneezed and nodded. Looks like they would be getting over this cold together, whether they liked it or not!
