Chapter 1: Stranded
Omega space station (the Afterlife strip club)
Electronic music was heard as Asari pole dancers were seen dancing sensually much to enjoyment of the club members ranging in species. Sitting at a balcony was a lone Asari wearing a skin tight black leather suit with a small short white jacket over arms and shoulders seemed to watch the crowds in silence.
Amongst the club members there was a human male who was sitting down at a dancing Asari enjoying the view of the Asari dancing for him seemingly seducing him with short glances and quick winks. The human male in response activated a hologram over his wrist and pressed a few buttons much to the Asari's satisfaction but the club doors opened revealing a fully armored humanoid figure.
The figure's armor was chrome orange in color with a green visor, the figure's right arm was a canon, the figure's shoulder pauldrons were orb-like and large while their footsteps made loud metallic clanks causing the human male to freeze in dread at the sounds of the clanking footsteps. The armored figure scanned the room from left to right and spotted the human male who her his back turned towards the figure hoping to avoid being spotted but to no avail.
The armored figure approached the man and spoke with a deep modified robotic voice "You thought you had lost me didn't you?"
The Asari overlooking the club observed the armored figure and the human male before snapping her fingers and pointed at the two causing her Batarian and Turian guards to act.
The human male responded to the armored figure "I think you have the wrong person…"
The armored figure projected a hologram of the human male showing a he was wanted with a five hundred credits to his name while the Asari pole dancer teased "Ohhhh someone's in trouble!~"
The human man gave a spiteful glare at the Asari as the armored figure stated "Normally I wouldn't accept such a low bounty, but then I learned what you did, attacking a Chozo colony, not very smart."
The human scoffed and responded still trying to reject the idea he had any involvement "I had nothing to do with that!"
The armored figure grabbed the man by the back of his neck and lifted him off the ground showing the figure's immense strength and height before coldly responding "I owe the Chozo a great debt, and you'll face their judgement!"
But the Batarian and Turian held their guns at the armored figure and warned "Take this outside, Aria doesn't want to have to clean after a mess!"
The armored figure turned towards the two aliens and responded coldly "Noted."
The armored figure was seen dragging the man away all while he screamed and begged "NO NO NO, LET ME GO I'LL PAY YOU ANYTHING YOU WANT!"
The armored figure remained silent completely focused on bringing the man in their grasp to justice while the Asari now revealed to be Aria watched in annoyance before eyeing her Turian and Batarian guards and gave a single nod of approval. Sometime later the armored figure was seen arriving at a docking area and was seen dragging their prisoner into a orange chrome colored ship that was in the vague shape of a turtle shell with a visor-like window on the front end.
Inside the ship the armored figure tossed the prisoner into a cryo-pod and pressed three buttons causing the pod to hiss and close making the prisoner beg "PLEASE I'LL DO ANYTHING YOU WANT! DON'T SEND ME BACK TO THE CHOZO!"
The figure stood stoically over the prisoner's pod as it closed while the figure's eyes were visible for the first time giving a disgusted expression as the prisoner banged his fists onto the pod's glass case while he began to fall unconscious.
But as the armored figure turned away a voice spoke with a monotone voice was heard "Setting course for Chozo colony world, Tallon IV, better strap yourself in, lady."
The figure now revealed to be female pressed a button on the side of her armored neck causing her voice modulator to deactivate as she spoke with a deep mature feminine voice "Thank you Adam."
The female bounty hunter's ship began to charge an electrical current across the surface of it's hull as a portal tore open in front of the ship as the AI was heard counting down "Serpent hole travel in three, two… one!"
The ship flung itself through the portal as it entered a strange dimension where strange ruins were seen floating in place where strange ancient fires burned eternally. Creatures that resembled serpents were seen "swimming" alongside the bounty hunter's ship as she was seen taking a seat at the cockpit and observed the serpents with admiration in her eyes who seemingly acknowledged her and her ship's presence.
The serpent's gave loud whale-like cries as a second portal opened in front of the ship causing the serpents to avoid it while the bounty hunter gave another glance at the huge beasts before her shipped emerged from the strange dimension.
Adam was heard informing "Contacting Ambassador Quiet Robe of the Thoha tribe."
A screen lowered down and revealed an bipedal avian-like creature who wore ceremonial robes and a golden helmet in the shape of a wide crescent moon.
The creature who was clearly Quiet Robe bowed it's head towards the bounty hunter and greeted though a device around his neck seemingly helped him speak a common language "Ahhh Young Samus, you honor us with your presence, have you finally made your decision?"
The bounty hunter now revealed to be named Samus shook her head stating "I haven't come for that Ambassador, I did however catch the criminal who attacked your colony."
Quiet Robe gave a sigh of discomfort at the mention of the prisoner and thanked "I thank you on behalf of my people, I will see to it that this prisoner faces the deserved punishment he has wrought upon himself. Dock your ship and bring the prisoner to me at the Mawkin tribe for it was the Mawkin who this human had wronged."
Samus nodded before the AI Adam piloted the ship towards the planet below arriving in a desert environment of Tallon IV with Chozo statues built dedicating to honored fallen warriors. Samus' ship docked as Quiet Robe was seen standing not too far away with a much taller Chozo who wore a fully enclosed suit of armor of grey and black with a long red cape.
The armored Chozo had a similar arm cannon to Samus while he crossed his arms at the sight of Samus dragging the human prisoner to the Chozo as Quiet Robe approached Samus and physically greeted her by crossing his beak onto the sides of her helmet.
The armored Chozo stayed quiet while glaring directly at the human as Quiet Robe informed "Grey Voice and Old Bird are also in the settlement, you should visit them before you take your payment."
Samus responded with a humble tone "Payment is not necessary Quiet Robe."
Quiet Robe gave a soft smile and politely disagreed "Nonsense, it is the least we can do for you, favored daughter of the Chozo."
But a blast was heard catching the attention of both Samus and Quiet Robe causing both to turn to see the human prisoner with a large hole through his chest that still sizzled and smoke as he stared in terror before falling face first onto the ground. Quiet Robe gave a concerned expression before turning towards the armored Chozo who held his arm cannon out leaving no doubt as to who killed the prisoner.
Quiet Robe asked with a concerned tone "Was that truly necessary, Raven Beak?"
The Chozo now revealed to be known as Raven Beak lowered his cannon and approached the prisoner's lifeless body and grabbed it by the wrist stating "You asked for a merciful solution and that will be the only mercy he shall receive for murdering twenty of my clansmen!"
Raven Beak eyed Samus who had not given any sign of remorse for the Prisoner's death much to the mild amusement of Raven Beak who dragged the body away making sure he dragged it across many large rocks while welcoming in a stoic tone "Welcome home, daughter."
Quiet Robe sighed before turning towards Samus and asked "Shall we visit Grey Voice and Old Bird?"
Samus gave a nod of approval and walked with Quiet Robe into the Mawkin Tribe Settlement as Samus questioned "Have the tribes settled into Tallon IV well?"
Quiet Robe informed "They have been minor complications aside from the incident with that human."
Samus turned towards Quiet Robe and asked with curiosity "And what did he do to earn the scorn of the Mawkin?"
Quiet Robe informed "We found a source of raw energy that could power our entire colony but we required a means to contain it first, the human was one of many who volunteered to help build a containment field around this new found energy we have come to call Phazon."
Samus had a look of confusion in her eyes as Quiet Robe finished "But it seemed Phazon has a hallucinogenic affect on those who come near it, many of the workers were affected by it and were treated accordingly but the human you brought to us was closer to the source of the Phazon radiation and it drove him utterly insane and drunk with power which unfortunately led to the murders of many Mawkin warriors."
Samus questioned while gesturing her hand out "Is it safe now?"
Quiet Robe answered "It would seem so for now young one."
Later Samus and Quiet Robe were seen entering a building where an elderly Chozo was seen standing with another Chozo who seemed younger in appearance as the elder was heard directing "We must understand how Phazon as a substance functions."
Samus hearing the elder Chozo's voice could not help but form an amused smile beneath her helmet before the second Chozo informed "Old Bird we still do not know how Phazon arrived on this planet, for it clearly affects all life, foreign and domestic upon this planet."
The Chozo now revealed to be Old Bird responded "If that is the case, Grey Voice even more reason to learn more to counteract it."
The Chozo now known as Grey Voice spotted Samus and bowed his head in respect and greeted "Ahhh Young Samus Aran, welcome to Tallon IV."
Old Bird raised his head forming a soft smile as he turned to face Samus who was seen removing her helmet revealing her blonde hair that had been put into a ponytail with chin length bangs on the sides of her face.
Samus placed her helmet under her cannon arm as Old Bird approached and embraced her as she returned the embrace as Old Bird teased "My you have grown since last we met!"
Samus gently patted Old Bird's back and responded "You know that isn't true."
Old Bird chuckled in amusement before joking "Let an old man have his delusions young one."
Samus asked with a concerned tone "I heard you were having trouble colonizing this world?"
Grey Voice was heard responding "Nothing we can't handle."
Old Bird assured "We can handle ourselves young Samus, but we are still awaiting an answer from you; will you take residence amongst us?"
Samus gave an uncertain expression before admitting "I have yet to come to a decision Old Bird."
Old Bird kept a soft smile before ruffling Samus' hair in playful manner "Worry not young Samus, you will find a place to call home one day."
But before Samus could respond a alerting beeping was heard as a hologram of Raven Beak appeared as he informed "Old Bird, I require the aid of our prodigal daughter."
Samus approached the hologram and stating "Ready for duty, honored one."
Raven Beak informed "Meet me at the Mawkin arena."
Old Bird gave a low coo of disapproval while Samus gave nodded in silence before putting her helmet back on and asked "Quiet Robe can you lead me to the arena?"
Quiet Robe gestured his hand out and directed "Follow me."
Some time later Samus was seen arriving at the Mawkin Arena where Raven Beak was seen standing with his back turned towards Samus, his hand placed behind his back as he now only wore a loin cloth revealing unlike the other Chozo he had a more Raven or Crow appearance.
Samus stood before Raven Beak who ordered "I am aware of your indecision and I will learn why."
Raven Beak held out his right hand as a he levitated a wooden staff off a rack and caused it to fling itself into his grasp before twirling it as he turned to face Samus and ordered "Defend yourself, Samus Aran, favored daughter of all of Chozo tribes!"
Samus pressed a few buttons on her left wrist causing her armor to dematerialize off her body revealing her athletic body and hourglass figure, her skin-tight blue high-tech suit encased most of her body with the only exception being her head. Raven Beak began to thrust one end of his staff at Samus with blinding speeds while Samus managed to evade his attacks while he kept a calm and stoic demeanor as Samus struggled to avoid being struck.
Raven Beak began to change up the movements and directions of his attacks with every swing of his staff becoming faster and harder hitting than previously while Samus ducked at the last possible moment and attempted to sweep her leg under Raven Beak.
Raven Beak reacted quickly before jumping back while mocking "You're slower than last we spared, Human."
Samus quickly leaped back onto her feet with her hands held up keeping a stoic expression as Raven Beak placed his left hand behind his back and began to twirl his staff in his right hand.
Raven Beak began to question Samus "Why do you hesitate? You are offered a place of residence with those who raised you, yet you have been indecisive!"
Samus looked down for a brief moment of thought while keeping her stoic expression before Raven Beak resumed his attacks on her forcing Samus on the defensive as she was seen deflecting his attacks by smacking her open palm at his staff.
Raven Beak continued to question with a slightly more aggressive tone "We are owed an answer, we saved you as a child from the Shrike General Ridley!"
Samus flinched at the mere mention of Ridley's name as a memory of her childhood flashed through her mind revealing a large bipedal purple dragon with sinister yellow glowing eyes was seen sitting in front of a burning city while giving a growling bloodthirsty cackle.
Samus ignored such thoughts as Raven Beak continued his strikes while she remained on the defensive as Raven Beak continued "You lost your home, and we took you in as if you were one of our own young! Do you reject us, resent that we did not act sooner upon the Shrike?"
Samus stood as Raven Beak swung his staff downwards at her head while she caught it in midair with her right hand and firmly stated "Never!"
Raven Beak eyed Samus keeping a stoic expression before responding "I see… you don't feel that you deserve a home of your own, or perhaps that you feel that there is no point to need for a place to return to aside from your ship."
Samus remained silent as her response as she released Raven Beak's staff allowing him to he pulled it away with a twirl and remained silent as Raven Beak walked away and placed the staff on the rack stating "There's no shame in feeling that the only home you have is your ship."
Samus looked down in thought while Raven Beak Materialized his armor over his body his red cape flowing slightly as he turned towards Samus and walked passed her without saying more.
Samus stood in silence before she materialized her armor over her body before leaving the arena, later Samus was seen heading back to her ship seemingly attempting to leave without being noticed but standing in front of her ship was Old Bird with a soft smile.
Samus shook her head as Old Bird teased "What, no goodbye for us?"
Samus made an excuse while approaching her ship "I might have a job offer that could pay well."
Old Bird chuckled while teased "But of course, and I suppose you have yet to reach a decision?"
Samus stood in silence much to Old Bird's amusement as he assured "Then we will wait until you have an answer."
Old Bird patted Samus' back and said "Be well and stay safe, young Samus."
Samus entered her ship as Adam informed "Lady, Citadel Council have requested your service, and request that you reach the unexplored regions for further intel."
Samus sat down at her cockpit and ordered "Set a course for the outskirts of the unexplored regions."
The Milky Way galaxy (An unexplored region of space)
Within the ship itself it seemed devoid of life with only the sound of a shower head spraying steaming water was heard behind a fogged up glass as Samus was seen bathing. Samus was seen rubbing her body with a soapy sponge between her large breasts while seeming meditating in peace before a loud alarm was being heard across the ship.
Samus gave a deep breathe before Adam was heard informing "Lady, you are receiving a message from the Citadel Council."
Samus turned off the showerhead and pressed a button near to the glass window making a hissing sound as the glass slide open allowing the steam to fume out covering her lower half while her top was completely revealed.
Samus grabbed a nearby towel and began to use it to dry off her hair as best she could before wrapping her torso with said towel before answering "Accept communication request."
A hologram projection of four alien species and a dark-skinned human male each wearing distinct uniforms better suited for their species, the first was a Turian white paint markings across his face, having three fingers and two toes. The second was an Asari who appeared to be the most patient of the five Councilors, the third was a Salarian who wore a regal cloak with a hood over his short horn-like appendages on his head, his large, slanted amphibian eyes seemed to twitch randomly with rapid pace as if the creature was forcing himself to focus.
The fifth alien was a Protoss, who stood as the tallest of the five Councilors, he lacked any sign of orifices, ears, nostrils not even a mouth with glowing yellow eyes on his grey skinned face, his legs were similar to a Turian yet with larger toes, his armor was ivory with golden ascents giving him a regal appearance.
The last Councilor the human male seemed to be in his late fifties and yet still seemed in healthy physical shape wearing a dark blue uniform as he mildly teased "It seems we've interrupted your privacy, Samus Aran."
Samus saluted towards the Council and responded "No Admiral Anderson, was merely showering."
The human male now revealed to be named Anderson gestured his hand in a dismissive manner assuring "At ease, Samus, you're not part of the military anymore."
The Asari apologized "I apologize for the interruption but…"
The Turien Council interrupted "We have learned that the Shrike Commander, Crocomire was last near your position leading a small fleet!"
Samus eyed the first Councilor and questioned "What's the mission sir?"
The Salarian Councilor informed quickly "Our spies within the Shrike Imperium have discovered that Crocomire and his fleet are attempting to secure a powerful weapon."
The Protoss Councilor added "Our forces are spread too thin with the war with the Shrike, Covenant and Cycloid Empire across Citadel space even the Spectres are too busy with subterfuge and guerilla warfare."
Anderson stated while pointing at Samus "We need your expertise and skills in dealing with Crocomire, and either securing or destroying the weapon he seeks to use against the Citadel Alliance."
The first Councilor bluntly stated "As for the bounty of Crocomire' he's worthy the fifty thousand credits dead, a million alive."
Samus nodded as she requested "I accept the bounty and require a visual identification of Crocomire."
The Asari held up her right arm as a holographic tool formed around her fore arm as she pressed a few buttons stating "Sending visual identification now, good hunting."
The Turian, Salarian and Asari councilors disconnected while the Prooss and Anderson were still online with the Protoss warned "Friend Aran, the region you are heading to was once a battlefield between an alliance of my people, the Chozo and Asari, against the Demons who invaded your home world many millennia ago, the history records I looked into were incomplete, you may encounter Demon pirates."
Anderson added while gesturing his hand towards Samus "If there are still Demons within the unexplored regions, we would need proof for the Silent Emperor, he better than anyone knows how dangerous Demons are, humanity lost once to the Demons before when they slaughtered us and took Earth."
The Protoss councilor added "It was a dark time for all in the galaxy for all our species."
Samus nodded and assured "If I encounter Demons that are still living, I'll be sure to collect proof for the Empire."
Anderson sighed in relief and assured "I'll inform the Silent Emperor that you have accepted this task, he'll pay you your bonus for this mission hell he's likely to want to thank you himself."
Samus smirked while responding "It would be an honor to be sure, to have done a service to the Sovereign of Mankind."
The Protess chuckled in amusement and responded "I have heard many great things about your immortal ruler, rumors say that his presence alone make the Demons flee in terror."
Anderson responded while crossing his arms "The rumors are true, evidently our Silent Emperor has killed enough Demons that he his feared by nearly all Demons on an instinctual level."
The Protoss rubbed his chin in thought and responded "Fascinating..."
Anderson turned towards Samus and directed "In any case Samus, the war has kept the Silent Emperor from sending out his Phantoms to deal with any Demonic threat."
Samus gestured her hand towards Anderson and asked with a genuine tone "What of the Spartans? Have they made any difference to the war?"
Anderson shook his head stating "Despite their skills, the Spartans are to few in numbers, they can only do so much in a war against the combined might of the Covenant, Shrike and Cycloids, but there's one whose rose amongst the Spartans who has even gained the Emperor's favor and blessing."
Samus raised a brow intrigued by Anderson's statement as he finished "Spartan one-one-seven, otherwise known as the Master Chief, the man's got a reputation that would make you impressed."
Samus crossed her arms with a smirk and teased with a question "Has he blown up a planet?"
Anderson pointed at Samus and corrected "You do remember that your report states that it was Mother Brain that set self-destruct sequence right?"
Samus shrugged clearly enjoying teasing Anderson who shook his head and responded "Its confirmed that the Chief has taken down three Covenant Light Cruisers killing hundreds of those Covie bastards with em."
Samus nodded while responding "Impressive... is he augmented then?"
Anderson rubbed his hands together in a discomforting manner responding "It's classified, I'm sorry Samus."
Samus rolled her eyes in mild annoyance before responding "Fine, keep your little secrets then I'll learn later, but for now I'll get to work if you gentlemen don't mind?"
Anderson nodded as the Protoss placed his fist upon his chest and responded "Good hunting, friend Aran."
Anderson and the Protoss Councilor disconnected as Adam was heard informing "Receiving holographic identification of Crocomire, Lady."
A hologram projection revealed Crocomire a orange-red scaled reptilian creature with six yellow pupil-less eyes with six limbs each limb having three toes and fingers.
Samus eyed the hologram of Crocomire and ordered "Adam, do we have any records of Crocomire's ship signature?"
Adam responded "Negative, however the Council has sent a spy report, detailing the planet and it's location where Crocomire was supposedly searching for this unknown weapon."
Samus removed her towel leaving herself naked as she ordered "Even better, set a course on the outskirts of that system and then engage stealth systems once we're out of the Serpent Holes."
Adam responded simply "Affirmative."
Samus walked away from the shower and entered a separate chamber where her blue suit was seen levitating off the floor by some form of anti-gravitational device, allowing Samus to claim it and began to suit-up revealing the suit was very loose over her body before it automatically tightened over her body. Samus rotated her hands before she materialized her armor over her body before leaving the chamber while cocking her arm cannon into an active mode that gave a low hum of power.
Shortly after Samus returned to her ship's cockpit and observed out the window to see the ship which had already entered the Serpent hole dimension while being followed by the otherworldly serpents. Samus watched the serpents from within her ship her silent admiration of these creatures growing while the serpents flew alongside her ship making their usual wailing cries before a portal opened allowing Samus' ship to leave the dimension.
Reaching the destination Adam activated the ship's cloaking which made the ship both visually invisible and nearly untraceable to technology as Adam informed "Stealth system engaged."
Samus commanded "Activate manual controls."
Adam responded "Manual controls activated, don't crash, Lady. You only have the one ship."
Samus began to take control over her ship's flight as flew closer to the reported location of Crocomire's fleet but Samus widened her eyes in shock to see half of the fleet was destroyed.
Many Shrike ships were seen blown apart and left to float adrift with fires that still burned, indicating the fleet was attacked recently as Adam informed "Warning, unknown energy radiation remaining on the Shrike Cruisers."
Samus observed the drifting ships and ordered "Scan for Crocomire's bio signature!"
Adam took a few moments but responded "Scan complete, no bio signature detected among the wreckage."
Samus flew passed the debris seeing many bodies of the Shrike forces floating some were even seen dismembered while Samus continued to search for the other half of Crocomire's fleet. Samus flew her ship passed the debris field and found the rest of the fleet further ahead near a planet with two moons Crocomire's fleet were seen firing down at the planet below as Samus watched in confusion.
But Samus' confusion would not last as a powerful green beam was seen erupting from the surface of the planet, which had shot down three ships with a single shot as Adam informed "Energy signature matches the same radiation that was left behind on the destroyed cruisers."
Samus thought to herself "That must be the weapon Crocomire is trying to obtain… looks like someone else beat him to it."
Crocomire's fleet continued to bombard the planet's with energy blasts from their cannons at a specific location but another beam erupted out one that was just as powerful as the previous attack. The beam blew another two ships leaving more debris as the largest ship was seen open for attack but a single one manned ship was seen flying out of the flag ship before it was blown in half by a third energy beam.
Adam announced "Crocomire's bio signature detected!"
Samus noticed the lone ship fleeing the battle and deduced Crocomire was the one retreating and pressed a few buttons de-cloaking her ship before activating her ship's cannons. Samus flew her ship to intercept Crocomire's who seemed to noticed Samus and quickly attempted to change course while Samus fired her ship's cannons, hitting one of Crocomire's thrusters slowing his speed as he tried to escape her by headed back into the battle.
A fourth beam fired out destroying the remaining ships in Crocomire's fleet as the commander of the fleet himself gave a call on an open channel, speaking a higher pitch voice and a raspy tone "I see the Huntress has come for poor Crocomire!"
Samus ignored Crocomire's taunt as he continued "When will you learn, Human? The Shrike will never fall! I will take the weapon upon this world and we will…"
But a fifth beam blasted Crocomire's ship completely reducing his ship to molten scrap and presumably killing him in an instant taking Samus by surprise by the beam and quickly steered her ship away hoping to retreat from the planet's firing range.
Samus pressed a few more buttons as Adam was heard informing "Raising shield's to maximum."
Samus' ship formed a barrier around itself as a sixth beam fired out striking the ship and blew apart the rear end, the impact was so powerful it caused Samus' armor to dematerialize off her body leaving herself without the protection of her suit. Samus gritted her teeth bracing herself for impact as her ship burned in the atmosphere of the ocean planet below while debris from the Shrike ships fell due to the gravitational pull of the planet.
Samus braced as her ship finally crashed into the calm sea, the impact disrupting the seeming peace of the waves, the strange alien sea life scattered in fear and confusion as Samus's ship was thankfully landed within a much shallower part of the sea.
Samus rubbed her forehead and groaned in pain as her ship's alarm lights flickered radically as Samus questioned "Damage assessment?"
Adam was stuttering as he responded "Damage s-s-s-significant... hull breach detected, th-th-th-thrusters damage, power core offline stabilizing, auto repair systems ac-activated."
Samus leaned back as the sea-water rushed into her ship as she heard it echoing throughout her ship causing her to command "Adam shut all doors that surround the breached areas."
The ship doors that were closest to the breached hull shut closed preventing further flooding of sea-water while Samus stood up and looked out her window to see the underwater world and saw a school of fish with large bulbous yellow glowing eyes. Beyond the school of fish was a kelp forest that danced gently from the pulls of the ocean waves, the sunlight beam through the surface of the water as Samus despite annoyed with her current predicament could only stare in awe at the natural beauty of the world's underwater ecosystem.
Samus while keeping her expression of awe asked "Adam can you scan the surrounding of the ship, is this planet's atmosphere breathable?"
Adam responded "Please wait a moment lady…"
Samus stared out into the sea seeing more of the strange wildlife as a strange ray-like fish swam by with small rabbit-like "ears" on it's head Samus scoffed in amazement at the sight while Adam informed "Sc-scans complete, the planet has a breathable oxygen and should be safe to surface."
Samus nodded and asked "How long until the ship's repairs are complete?"
Adam answered "The repair bots have already been deployed and the ship should be space worth in at least four to six months."
Samus lowed her head in annoyance before complaining to herself "Of course… (to Adam) did you happen to detect where that foreign energy beam came from?"
Adam responded "Negative lady."
Samus shook her head and responded in a mildly annoyed tone "Alright… I'll have to find the source of that… (Shrike ship parts crash all around Samus' ship as Samus dryly joked) well look that Adam, free resource material."
Adam responded "War-warning! Shrike life signs detected!"
Samus cracked her neck from left to right before standing up and grabbed a handgun along with a metal handle before grabbing a helmet that resembled her armor's helmet and placed it upon her head.
Adam then warned "Caution lady, that helmet is outdated."
Samus adjusted her helmet while responding "I'll make do."
Shortly later Samus was seen exiting her ship by swimming through the damaged areas upon entering the ocean Samus was seen silently admiring the nearby wildlife a small mammal-like pod of strange creatures that had a dark green skin glowing sickly yellow eyes and a short gasmask-like trunk. The mammalian creatures with trunks had a strange bulbus tail that had large pours that glowed a sickly green as they all swam at a slow speed.
Samus turned her attention towards the nearest Shrike crash site as Adam informed via Samus' helmet radio "Sc-scans indicate the wreckage ahead of you has at least seven survivors in it."
Samus approached the wreckage as a single large eyed fish approached her seemingly out of curiosity staring at her with one of it's two oversized eyes causing Samus to gently push the fish aside making it swim away in fear. But the side of the Shrike wreckage exploded outward revealing a reptilian creature with insectoid features swam out of the wreckage without any form of helmet to protect itself from the elements or potential alien bacteria.
Samus pulled out her pistol and shot an energy based projectile that vaporized the water as it struck the Shrike blowing off it's left arm making it screech in pain before it began to swim at incredible speeds around Samus. Samus seemed to keep track of it's movements before pulling out the handle bar and pressed a button using her thumb igniting it into a long energy based whip.
The energy that blazed through the whip caused the water surrounding it to vaporize and bubble rapidly from the intense heat it produced as the Shrike attempted to attack Samus from behind causing her to evade the attack by fluidly moving herself in the water but the speed of the Shrike caused it to slash her thigh leaving a bloody mist.
Samus coiled her whip around the Shrike's neck and with one tug of her wrist Samus decapitated the Shrike causing it's body to slowly float upwards while more Shrike were beginning to emerge from the wreckage as Samus began to fire her pistol at them killing three with headshots while dismembering two leaving one to quickly evade around his injured and slain brethren. The surviving Shrike that were dismembered still attempted to swim at Samus while the one who swam away swam towards a nearby kelp forest making the attempt to escape and avoid Samus who easily killed the attacking Shrike.
Samus turned her attention towards the kelp forest as strange roars were heard followed by the Shrike's ear piercing shriek causing Samus to squint in suspicion was the Shrike was seen swimming back her direct by now it had lost the lower half of it's body with green blood trailing behind it. Samus watched in confusion as erupting from the kelp forest were larger fish-like creatures with long snouts with long teeth and a dorsal spikes swam at the Shrike and began to ruthlessly tore it apart some of the creatures' teeth broke off during the attack as the surrounding water became a bloody green mist.
Samus deactivated her whip and holstered her handgun as the water currents pushed the thick green blood away revealing a mutilated corpse of the Shrike that tried to retreat while the large fish began to swim back into the kelp forest seemingly having the fill of flesh. Samus began to swim towards the kelp forest though she kept herself at a far enough distance to not disturb the carnivorous group of fish that resided within.
Samus circled around the kelp as it reacted to the currents of the water saw glimpses of the fish biting and seemingly playing with a plate of metal from the Shrike wreckage.
Samus swam away from the kelp heading back to her ship as Adam informed "Caution, numerous new life signs detected!"
Samus questioned as she approached her ship "The Shrike?"
Adam responded "Negative, I detect Krogan, Asari and an unidentified species."
Samus continued her way back to her ship but stopped upon seeing a boat that was seemingly built from scratch of wood and large plates of metal stopped near the Shrike wreckage.
Samus swam behind her ship and peaked out to see an Asari dive into the water fully naked and began to enter the Shrike wreckage while Samus ordered "Adam lockdown the ship!"
Adam did not respond as the sound of the ship's interior doors locking echoed catching the attention of the Asari who saw Samus swim out from behind her ship with her hands raised up in a defensive manner hoping to assure the Asari that she wasn't in danger. The Asari upon closer inspection had glowing green pustules dotted around her body as she pointed upwards directing Samus to follow her up to the surface.
The Asari breached from the water first followed by Samus causing a large reptilian figure who wore dark red armor to pull out a seemingly makeshift gun with a jagged bladed bayonet on the end of the barrel, his tan colored skin was scarred with his red head crest damaged. The third creature was serpentine figure that had a mix of mammalian features the most obvious being her breasts which had indicated her gender to be female as her head expanded into a hood as she aggressively hissed at Samus.
The Asari responded "Please friends, there's no need to be violent yet!"
The large reptilian creature eyed the Asari and lowered his gun as the serpentine female stopped hissing though her hood was still expanded out while the Asari climbed aboard the boat and helped Samus on deck.
Samus removed her helmet revealing her face to the strangers as the serpentine scoffed and spoke with a raspy voice "It's just a damn human!"
The larger alien spoke with a deep voice while gesturing his gun barrel at Samus "Not so sure about that… (sniff sniff) she's got some augments in her for sure."
Asari turned towards her larger companion and asked "Do you mind not doing that, honestly you Krogan can be so impolite."
The larger alien revealed to be a Krogan groaned lowly and responded dryly "Tends to happens when your people allowed the Turians and Salarians to neuter my entire species!"
Asari groaned lowly in annoyance as Samus assured "I was sent here to prevent the Shrike Pirates from claiming a weapon upon this rock… and to claim a bounty off their leader."
The Krogan squinted at Samus and questioned "You're a bounty hunter huh? (Samus nods causing the Krogan to scoff respectfully) Been out of the game myself for the past fifteen years."
Samus raised a brow and asked "I see… judging by your devilish looks and demeanor… I'm going to go out at a limb here and guess that you're Wrex?"
The Krogan smirked confirming Samus' deduction of his identity and pointed at her and responded nonchalantly "Yup."
Samus eyed the Asari who was panting heavily before falling back with Wrex catching her assuring "Easy there, I've got ya."
Samus eyed the Asari and asked "What's wrong with her?"
The Asari coughed responding "This whole planet is infected with an ancient virus…"
Wrex nodded and added "Yeah but unfortunately for all of us there's a big gun shooting every ship that comes near this planet!"
The Serpentine female finished "We've been unable to locate it for years to shut it down, but we've only fund it recently thanks to the Shrike throwing themselves at it for weeks."
Samus questioned 'What sort of virus are we talking about?"
The Asari informed "It's the Kharaa plague… a virus that devastated countless planets, rending them inhospitable."
Samus questioned with a curious tone "And the cure?"
Asari began to cough up purple blood as Wrex answered "There's no cure kid, the only reason I haven't kicked the bucket for all these years is that my people have a resistance to it."
Samus rubbed her head and asked "How does one get infected?"
The Asari shook her head as Wrex informed "You already are kid, the virus is in the water, every single animal is infected on this planet."
Samus shook her head in confusion and asked "How is it that I'm already infected with this virus?!"
Wrex explained "Because of your wound."
Samus eyed her thigh which was still bleeding as Wrex added "The waters of this damn planet is contaminated with Kharaa!"
Samus closed her eyes exhaled through her nose seemingly to stay calm before opening her eyes and put on her helmet questioning "Adam is the ship's hover mode operational?"
Adam responded "Negative, estimated time of hover mode restoration: one solar week."
Samus groaned lowly before turning towards Wrex "You said you three have found the location of the weapon that shot me and the Shrike down?"
The serpentine woman responded "We know the direction and judging by the sight we're only ten miles away."
Samus nodded before asking "Did you happen to see any other Shrike survivors?"
Wrex responded while holding up his gun and cocked it "No, but I've been missing a good fight."
Samus scoffed in amusement before ordering "Adam, activate the security measures."
Adam responded as the sound of the ship was heard by the group above the water "S-security activated, Lady. Try not to take too long."
Samus turned towards the Asari and asked "Will she be alright?"
The Asari waved her hand dismissively joked "I'll be fine, it's not as if I'm dying from a plague of cosmic proportions!"
Wrex chuckled in amusement before heading towards the boat's engine and began to drive it towards the direction where the mysterious energy beam struck the Shrike and Samus. Hours later Samus and the others were seen riding the boat in the middle of the ocean as the large eyed fish were seen seemingly following and jumping out of the water alongside the boat catching Samus' attention.
Wrex noticed the fish and stated "A human boy who was stranded on this planet with me during my first few years on the planet called them Peepers."
Samus turned towards Wrex chuckling as she questioned "A bit on the nose, isn't it?"
Wrex smirked as he responded "I dunno, but I can say this; the fish taste is delicious when cooked right!"
Samus turned towards the sea watching the Peepers leap out of the water following after the boat asking "And what happen to the boy?"
Wrex formed a saddened expression before responding "I'd rather not talk about it…"
The Asari coughed up more blood catching the attention of the Serpent and Wrex as Samus turned her head towards the Asari who was gasping rapidly causing Wrex to stop the boat and hurry over to the Asari with a worried expression as he called "Aleena!"
The Asari now revealed to be named Aleena began to hyperventilate struggling to breathe as Wrex held her hand while Samus and the serpentine woman watched in silence while Aleena turned her head away from Wrex and cough her blood onto the boat deck.
Aleena turned towards Wrex hand responded "I think I've gone as far as I can go Wrex…"
Wrex closed his eyes in a painful manner as Aleena asked "You… you remember when we fought on that station?"
Wrex scoffed painfully before responded "Not something I think I'll ever forget."
Aleena coughed again as she joked "I gotta confess… I did leave a knife in the chair you sat in."
Wrex chuckled in amusement as he shook his head jokingly responded "You're a real piece of work you know that?"
Aleena smiled as he began to cough violently as the green pustules glowed brighter causing her to violently twitch as blood ran down the sides of her face before blood shot out from her nose causing her body to go limp in place.
Wrex eyed Aleena's body mournfully before gently closing her eyes before lifting her body off the boat and dropped her into the ocean as Samus asked "What are you doing?"
Wrex stood silently, watching as Aleena's body sank down into the ocean as the serpentine woman explained "It was her wish that her body be sent to the sea."
Wrex stood silently before turning towards Samus and changed the subject "Let's get to that damn weapon…"
Wrex approached the boat's engine and drove it again while Aleena's body was surrounded by Peepers before they scattered in terror while armored fish with reptilian-like heads began to swim towards the body and began to consume it. But a loud sound was heard as a strange tentacle creature with a crustacean-like head approached the body and fish but it raised one of it's clawed appendages throwing a energy orb at the fish.
The orb struck one making it vanish causing the rest to scatter in fear as the strange new purple creature whose torso was translucent revealing it's organs as it inspected Aleena's body and made a mechanical clicking sounds. The creature looked up and saw the boat in the distance as it turned back towards the direction of Samus' ship and the Shrike wreckage and tore open a portal allowing it to pass through leaving Aleena's body to be consume by the ecosystem.

Hey everyone, so I hope you like this idea I came up with, I was working on this during a time when my old computer wouldn't on Fanfic, and I had a lot of time to work on my other story Saints and Sins and this but I finally got around to finishing this.
Currently I'm keeping my focus on Saints and Sins, which means this story will be put on hold until I finish the first arc of that story.
Until then I hope you guys and gals enjoy this taste of Leviathan's Call and hope you all have a wonderful time.
