Chapter 73 Blind Fight

Danny returned to the hanger where the Tempest was at and met up with Tucker, Wulf, and Valerie. He told them about his encounter and brief training with Clockwork. The three Rebels were both shocked and excited by this news and discovery. A Jedi Master could be a huge help against the Empire. Danny made plans to tell Sam about the news and take her to meet the Jedi master. He also made plans to contact his mother about the news about Clockwork, but he needed to pass the word through a person, since the Empire could be monitoring calls in search of information on the Rebels. Danny retired for the night and went to sleep.
The next round for the tournament was up and a huge crowd was gathered. Danny was competing in one of the first fights against the bounty hunter Ving. The refer started the fight and both fighters charged at each other. Ving threw several punches at Danny who managed to dodge them. The bounty hunter became furious and threw a fast punch at Danny, who sidestepped it and delivered a punch of his own to Ving's back knocking him to the ground. The crowd cheered and Ving scrambled to his feet with a snarl. Danny prepared to attack Ving, when the bounty hunter reached into a pocket on his shirt and threw some red powder into Danny's eyes. Danny stumbled back with his hands over his eyes as he felt a burning sensation in them. Ving took advantage of this and charged at Danny delivering several punches to Danny's chest and face that knocked him to the ground. The crowd booed at this. Up in the royal stand Sam turned to Aragon.
"That guy is cheating! You need to end the fight at once!"
Aragon didn't respond and continued to watch the fight. Danny stumbled to his feet and tried to look around but everything was blurry and unfocused. He then recalled his training with Clockwork and used the Force to focus and sense everything around him. Ving charged at Danny again and threw several punches at him, only to have Danny block and dodge them. Danny then threw a few powerful and well placed punches of his own that connected to Ving's face, stomach, and chest that eventually knocked the bounty hunter to the ground unconscious. The crowd cheered as Danny was declared the winner. Clockwork smiled at Danny from the stands, while Fright Knight, Bender, Freakshow, Scarlet, and Aragon looked on with interest. Danny was then escorted out of the ring to have his eyes examined and healed as the tournament continued on.
